was going to try a few miles this morning. dogs woke me up early so that would have been good.
icy, black ice. no running
and poo in the living room, harry potter slippers had the toes eaten out of them, and one dog walked over to me and barfed at my feet. so my extra time was taken up with dealing with dog issues. still might be able to get some in tonight. if the weather warms up. can't run at the track. closed for speed skating trails
Dog, husband, baby, and me sleeping in bed and dog barfed all over the bed and part of floor last week. Shampooed carpet and washed bed sheets and cleaned all wood on bed. Frustrating and time consuming, but we pushed her off into my daughter's bed every night now where she's equally as happy (dog is needy and must be pressed up against a human to sleep or she'll cry) for leg room. She's like a big, old baby to take care of. She's been with us since she was a puppy, almost 8 years old now. But she will probably be my last dog.
Oh! That is awful! How old is your baby? Mine is 8 months.1 -

Awwwwwwww, congratulations!!! Good for you for running!!! I say "baby" but he'll be two in April so he's well out of baby status and into toddler status but I'll probably refer to him as the baby until he's fifty or I'm dead. Hahahaha... I have a seventeen year old daughter, a thirteen year old daughter, remarried and had a baby boy at 41 1/2. Crazy good stuff...
Adding: One reason I run is to stay "younger" so I am never ever to be confused with his grandmother.

I'm sorry... that had to be hard. As frustrating as she can be, I'm glad we've got her. I think you're a special person to do what you do. I'm a no kill, rescue a shelter pet/spay & neuter believer and very vocal about it. But you go the extra steps with an open heart to make sure they are cared for and loved.3 -

as a friend said. better a dog as a project than a person as a project. keep me busy with a dog, and i'll stay out of your business8 -

Morning
It's sunny here! After almost a week of rain, its nice to have the sun again. And it's less humid yay!
Went for a 7k run this morning, so 2.2k before Parkrun, then the 5k Parkrun. It was a really nice morning and I just hit my groove.
Doing well on my weight loss goals. Lost 2.7kg in January, and have ran daily and done strength training, So well on my way to my goal. Now to keep it going bahaha.

It is currently snowing here, so we are good.3 -
My January total miles = 26.3. A lot of that was combo of walk/run intervals. And lots of cross training to support the rehab. I noticed today that I am almost back to full strength in the injured leg. I plan to continue the strength and cross training throughout February and beyond. The Spring season starts for my running class at the end of February, and it looks like I am on target to safely build my mileage to fall right in line with the weekly mileage in the training plan. It’s nice when the timing works out.8
-
Good luck on your race tomorrow @shanaber !
Glad your leg is almost back to full strength @emmamcgarity ! That's fantastic!
I decided I wasn't going to just run or walk 0.24 miles to make it an even 75 for the month. It wouldn't really be worth the effort and I didn't have time to do enough to make it worth while. Good thing I don't care about round number - too much. Pleased with my month total of 74.76 miles. That's a record for me. Almost 150% of my goal.6 -
5.4 miles tonight puts me at 161.4 running miles for January! Good luck to all of us in February...4
-
So January was pretty lame for me:
I had that huge gap in there (when I was sick) that I am still trying to get back into the mindset of running again after. It is amazing how easy it is to become lazy again which is what nearly killed me over a decade ago. AH well. One advantage I have right now is a coach that is sending me stuff like "Hey you! Go run 15 miles!" regularly.
Onward to February!

Aw, @AlphaHowls, so sorry you've had a rough month. Look at all those crazy laps. You are so strong to keep it going despite what you've been dealing with. Hope you will be feeling better and back to your normal running soon.
Well done to everyone making their goals!

I had thoughts of doing my long run today so I could make my 100-mile goal, but I couldn't justify taking the time out from work. And it's a good thing because work went totally crazy on me. So I finished up the month with a sad little minimal treadmill run. But I completed the January streak goal and my goal of doing at least 5 pull-ups every day in January.
My run streak is actually up to 45 days (back to Dec 17). I'm no @AlphaHowls so I don't anticipate keeping it going. I don't really like that I have been running fewer miles per day, so even though I'm running every day, my mileage is not great. And I feel like I'm running slowly - which is probably more a function of a lot of treadmill running.7 -
6.2 miles on the Greenway very slowly. Stomach problems on top of strep but got out there anyway! We saw 20 deer (according to my husband’s count) on the way back, they were all standing smack in the middle of the trail! They all bounced off except the big stag who just stood there and watched us go by.
That’s goal for me plus I hit my stretch goal of 60 miles. 101 miles counting walking. Also made my other objective for this month which was to run respectably enough in the first two races of the Winter off-road series that I haven’t completely shut myself out of possible AG placement.7 -

Congratulations to you! That’s a child in every stage!
I had my baby when I was 40! I have a 9 and 6 year old as well. It’s really enjoyable this time around.
I started this idea of running to be able to be a more active mom. However, my hair is already very silver and I don’t color it so I don’t expect to avoid being called grandma at some point in her life.7 -
Great job @rheddmobile ! Hope you feel better. I love seeing deer, but they can be intimidating. My mom and I were once snorted and pawed at by a doe with a baby. It was scary. We didn't stick around to see what she was going to do.

I finished at pretty much 35 miles. It wasn't my best month but ONWARD!8
