Yes SuziQ I understand how work can be therapy. That is one reason I kept subbing. Once in that setting that is all I could think about.
I have found plenty to do so far. Helping set up our painting group, helping my teaching friend, relaying on info on the internet. I am going to try to get my singing of simple gifts to a friend who is a minister out east. I tried to put in a link but I guess it violates external links. She is doing a daily prayer and I hope to send her me singing. If it works out I intend to send other hyms to her.
You could look it up if interested Rector Christ Episcopal church Binghamton.
I plan to offer these to the two churches I am singing at here too.
Being this busy helps as I wait word on our son and doing something positive at the trying time.4 -

YES!!! That is it!
So, I am not a fan girl. I don't have "heroes" and never have. But I absolutely adore Garcia Marquez.
So, when I was a doctoral student in DC, one of my fellow grad students got us tickets to a Garcia Marquez film festival at the Kennedy Center, sponsored by the Colombian embassy, (my heart has begun racing, just typing this). They rented out one of the small theatres, so there were maybe 200-250 people there. (I'm bad at numbers, but it was a small theatre). So it is almost time for the films to start, and in walks Gabriel Garcia Marquez!!!!! I grabbed my friend's arm, and I said, "That is him!!!" She said, no it isn't; he's not going to be here. But I was sure. A couple people jumped up and got his autograph, everyone jumped to their feet and applauded him. I thought I was going to faint. I felt like it was the 60s and the Beatles had just disembarked the airplane. I could hardly breathe. The lights went dark, we watched the first short film, the lights came back up, but he was gone. :-( Someone announced that Garcia Marquez was overwhelmed by our response, and went back to his hotel. I felt so bad about that. But I still could not believe that I had been in the same room, within 20-30 feet from, arguably -- and I would argue -- the greatest writer of the 20th century, bar none, and perhaps one of the five best writers on earth. EVER!
Deep breath. I still have the "playbill" from that event. One of the best birthday presents I have ever had.

Also this -- Does this summary not sound like China, at the beginning of this virus?A terrible disease is found in a Mexican town. A doctor tries to alert the authorities when he discovers its epidemic nature. No one listen to him and soon after the disease spreads. The government tries to control the information in order to prevent panic.

Did Cathe Pure Strength Strong Legs DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do Kathy Smith’s Fat Burning Workout DVD.
M – what a novel idea! I got an email saying that at the condo they’ve closed the pool. I can understand that they don’t want people congregating under the cabana, but sunshine is good. And it’s not like you’re close to anyone else. I would hate that so I guess it’s good that we’re not down there.
Put on the spine of all my DVD’s how long they are. Sometimes you need a workout that is shorter in length like if you’ll be doing something that morning
Kylia – now if that isn’t a stress reliever, I don’t know what one is. That is…except maybe for having a cat in your lap
Heather – you have my mouth watering telling us about that pizza
KJ – are you allowed to have more children than normal? Also, what toys would you recommend for a 1-1/2 year old?
Margaret – you have my prayers x2
Lisa – thanks for the smile
Katla – I wish the stores were required to make their minimums for pick up of groceries a lower amount. I just went to WalMart’s website and you have to have a minimum of $30. I could only come up with $17. Looks like I’m going to have to go in the store

For those with kids y grandkids these are the child virus cases y deaths that are reported for ages 0-14yrs old
1st responder she was driving fast 💨 down our road looking at house numbers.Last one I saw like that it was there plus a regular ambulance hauling a family off in hazmat suits.Hoping not cause this is my street
Praying for those Virginia Pre-K kids y the one that’s positive.Scary JRs age group. Got to keep the babies y pregnant family members safe through this too. It’s a 3yr old https://www.wtkr.com/news/first-pediatric-coronavirus-case-reported-in-gloucester-co one of our guys here Daughter teaches this child’s class so pray for our groups lady y her family she’s too proud to let you know her burden
https://www.latimes.com/science/story/2020-03-19/coronavirus-has-claimed-the-lives-of-an-infant-and-a-teenager 10month old in China y 14yr old didn’t make it.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/17/health/coronavirus-childen.html
China in the beginning lost a few babies due to premature delivery to save mother’s with severe health y high risk pregnancies. All others delivered normally .A few babies contracted virus after birth but not all due to hospitals being extra careful! Suggesting not to have the whole world march into the delivery room after since newborn to pre-k ages is at a higher risk for complications from the virus . Other ages more mild unless their unhealthy or at risk category, but they can spread it to friends with a new baby to toddler in the home easily. Don’t risk it play games online with their friends not at each other’s homes to in the streets. Kids lie about washing hands (especially certain age groups Daughter was horrible about wetting toothbrushes to tub) to touch their faces a lot y the other faces hands hair even if the other kids too.

We’re up to 25cases in my city not including surrounding ones we’ve taken in or the 400+ cruise ship passengers at a base. Was 11 yesterday but drive through tests came back today why it jumped by 14. https://www.texastribune.org/2020/03/19/coronavirus-updates-texas-economy-government-employees-telemedicine/
Cleaned bathrooms 🚽 y refilled soap 🧼 in them. Now laundry in dryer almost done. JR colored by himself in a coloring book while I worked on stuff. His new age is helping a lot right now.2 -
Sure hope the malaria medication they are recommending is effective on Covid19! Would be wonderful if they could make it less dangerous and shorten the duration of the disease!5

Amber - you would be proud of me! For dinner tonight I cleaned out the bottom of the fridge, zucchini, red pepper, onion, garlic, celery, carrot, cabbage, tomato and started on a new cauliflower. In the IP I made a red lentil curry base, 15 mins, and then added everything except cabbage and tomato for one minute pressure. Quick release and then stirred in the cabbage and tomato for a quick boil. It was fabulous. Cheap, healthy and delicious. Served it with one ounce rice each, raita (yogurt mix) and hot pickle for me and mango chutney for DH.
I always feel so virtuous with my "bottom of the fridge" dinners.

Just got the news I get to pick him up tomorrow!!!

I'm grumpy and frustrated. DH is in criticism mode and I can do without that. :grumble:
On the good side of the ledger, a carpenter came and completed work in our garage attic so that I can FINALLY get the Christmas boxes put away. I wonder whether Mr. Critical-Grumpy will eventually decide to help.

Margaret ... wonderful news!
Lanette ... had a good snort with your door mat pic!
Baby picture ... another smile ... thank you Luci!
KJ ... you have my admiration and my prayers.
Rebecca ... where are you? Have I missed your posts? Are you and family doing well?
I've been thinking of Rebecca and Amber today as I decided to go through my fresh foods and make certain that things are being used before they expire or are going bad. Blanched and froze for later use ... broccoli. Two delicata squash that were getting iffy ... made creamy squash soup. Over soft bananas .. egg free banana cake (disabled son has egg allergy). Chopped and froze jalapeño peppers that were getting spots. Sautéed for some later use mushrooms that were getting past prime. Juiced some soft limes and froze. Leftovers were for lunch. This is my happy place by the way. I love to make use of every last bit!
We are all a little happier today and that's a good thing! Spoke with my mom earlier. We're going to try and help her and my dad figure out how to FaceTime or Zoom. My caption telephone (I'm deaf) is only allowing a few minutes of service ... which I understand. I'm certain they're having staffing problems as well. I am going to spend tomorrow doing some letter writing! I think this is a good time to reach out to people I haven't communicated with for a while.
Today my parents received a call from the police station ... to check up on them and make certain they had everything they needed ... food, medications, etc. They were told to call at anytime should they have a need or concern. My parents are 91 and 89 and neither my brother nor I are near them. I will be sending a letter to their police headquarters thanking them for being compassionate and proactive.
NY is mandating that all business reduce workforce by 75%. My husband's company will follow-through with a plan.
I have been called back into work this weekend. Seems the church has some areas that need cleaned again since people were not respectful of the do-no-enter signs and a counseling center has remained open for the time being. I will be purchasing one of Machkas bubbles!
Heading outside now for fresh air. The advantage of living in a rural area.

Hi Gals,
SuziQ- I love your drill story, I asked a number of years ago for a drill for Christmas, and I got a cute purple flowered chargeable drill, the most useless thing ever designed, the charge is enough to put in a couple of screws at a time or drill a small hole – “perfect for the little lady” says the information from the company… OMG I was hoping for a real drill think Black & Decker, Dewalt, Makita…. Oh well I borrow my neighbors.
Lisa – I can sorta relate to your daughter, when I get really scared I can get melodramatic too, but I almost always can talk myself down before I voice those thoughts. You can send her a care package – pick a grocery store near her that delivers and then put together an order online and have them deliver to her.
I had a friend fly from her daughters to home yesterday and she was nervous, turned out it was her, one other customer, 2 flight attendants, a pilot and co-pilot. She was safer in the air than most other places she had been recently.
Margaret – great news!

Margret - Happy news!
Keep a silent praying for the group member who is dealing with A family member who lives with them that came in contact with a positive person at work. No name just prayers kids in the home.
Heather y Beth- So proud of you guys! You saved money y food all in one pantry clean out! I love eggless y egg banana breads both I eat there good! The veggies Heather had so dreamy.. I miss veggies! I could be paid off with an onion at this point even lol 😂. Got oranges 🍊 almost ready to pick on the tree a treat for us when I can! Frozen Bagged mixed broccoli saving for a soup or casserole or for spaghetti or all 3 if I do it right.
Hubby ate 2 ramen noodles y 2 sandwiches 🥪 for today with crystal light tea. An expiring pack of crackers we shared. He ate the cheese dust y pieces from a cheetah bag on top of his ramen.
JR picky picky refusing stuff offered twice! Managed only to get him to eat tater tots (French fries 🍟) , Graham cracker bears 🐻, Cheetos, lots of protein shakes he likes his “chocolate milks” he calls it. Ramen noodles. Maybe at 7pm offer a 1/2 peanut butter sandwich see if he’ll accept it.
I had ramen noodles shared with JR, his 1/2 turkey sandwich he rejected all day long so dry but food plus my sandwich earlier for brunch. 1 protein shake. Crystal light y maybe later Gatorade zero. A old prenatal vitamin . Expiring (stale) crackers with hubby I used a restaurant jelly pack on them. 1 serving of French fries seasoned Daughter left was in the dark reaches of the freezer when cleaning (JR won’t eat these spicy). Couple packets of McDonald’s ketchup. Got 80 cal left will see what I can make.
I explained why the almond milks are not in order by just bought but by dates! Hubby gets my system now. Front milks 1st don’t I arrange it growls!

Been using glass dishes only on hubby y me . Virus lives less 3 days on plastic. Cleaned Glass is a safer choice .JR has to have plastic so cleaning his very well.
They said jobless rates up to 33% data y claims still coming in so guess will break records of the past with this illness.
Hubby came home with 2 almond milks. He worried JR won’t have milk 🥛. Nice having a hubby who cares for the kid this time around. Daughter was born during Y2K era then by age 2yrs old flood took our home. Raised all the other kids alone too all 7 of them (9 kids I’ve raised in my lifetime so far). So definitely nicer sharing responsibilities for once.
For those needing more beds at home for the time being - Take the mattress top one for floor set it up with blankets. Take the bottom one out a heavy blanket on top can even use a wood board or cardboard or foam mattress top or even a goose down blanket on top since it’s harder may have holes (depends when you bought it my Grandma had the same mattress until grandpa passed they married at 16yrs old lol now that’s getting your moneys worth the hard way lol). Now you got 2 beds. Camping air mattress to pull out couch can be set up -couch bed sinking in the middle put an ottoman under it. If theirs a Will theirs a Way!
Can also set up sleeping bags on the floor of a Den or bedroom for all the kids to pile in that way babies y older folks get a bedroom.

Katla Sorry to hear they are recommending a colonoscopy. On the other hand, I have had them every 5 years for a while and it is good to have the polyps removed, etc.
Carol Hope your BIL is okay! Rough situation. Bad time to be going to the hospital!
Heather Difficult worrying about the children who are not nearby. Hope your husband can stay safe from the virus! He does sound like he would be in the most vulnerable category!
Allie I’m glad you didn’t have contact with the neighbor who has the virus! Stay well!
DRY SKIN https://www.amazon.com/CeraVe-Moisturizing-Diabetics-Bilberry-Fragrance/dp/B07HRG7FYW I have been using this for my extremely dry skin and it is very effective
Machka LOL on the plastic bubbles!
Ginny Sorry things are so stressful with work!
Kylia Love your stress reliever!
Heather Certainly hope your ex gets through this okay!! Encouraged you are hearing from kids more.
My Florida children have been texting (and grandchildren) to check on me and let me know how things are with them. It has been a relief whenever I hear from them. With such uncertainty in the world at the moment, it is fabulous to get those quick messages that someone is thinking of you! You ladies are a much appreciated lifeline during this isolation period!!
Margaret Prayers coming your way about getting your son out! Hope it all goes smoothly! ...Just read you get to pick him up!! So grateful!
Lisa Prayers for safety of your son while flying!
Flea Love the reading recommendations for coping! Your retelling of the experience at the Kennedy Center got me excited as if I had been there myself! What a wonderful experience!
Rori So impressed you continue to have a positive attitude. Your situation sounds difficult! Can’t believe 10 inches of snow for Spring…but then again, CO, I can!
SuzyQ I want your muffins, now!! LOL
Waiting for Baby Iris to wake up from her nap so I can play with her some more. 😊 Luci in WNC …hoping the cure is really here - not a dishonest report from the President!8 -
So pleased, Margaret! I hope all goes well.1
