Luci – Vince told me about the malaria medicine. Evidently this guy who is working on it is quite good. He’s had 100% success. So let’s keep our fingers crossed.
Making some hard boiled eggs right now. I know Jess liked HB eggs and so do I
SuziQ – one of the downfalls to this “quarantine” if you want to call it that is that we have more time to cook and bake which translates into weight. It’s going to be somewhat of a struggle for me.
Went to the uHaul earlier today. Vince needed a box and some supplies. Then went to the post office and I talked him into going to Lowes Hardware. I had this Spectracide stuff that was not supposed to kill grass but only weeds. Either I didn’t give it enough time to work or my weeds were grass based. I don’t think so. Anyway, we got this other Spectracide stuff and I made a really good mixture of water to Spectracide so we shall see how it does.
Margaret – what wonderful news. Tomorrow can’t come soon enough
Got a text back from the girl at the soup kitchen. They said to come in tomorrow. Vince was wondering, but I was pretty sure they would want me. I’ll probably stop at WM to get my prescriptions, go to the soup kitchen, then Aldi. I do want to go while Jess is here so we can get some of the things she likes. And….I’ll know things she likes so I can put them in future care packages.
Kim – I never thought of a grocery store that delivers! We would give Jess money for grocery shopping. See, the store gives you a certain amount off your gas after you spend a certain amount, so if we bought it, she wouldn’t get the credit. Have to look into how she can get the credit.
Allie – thanks for the update on Rebecca

Thanks for the videos Amber especially the exercise ones.
Heather I know what you mean, I've sometimes felt unwell, is this a fever or am I having a hot flush
Beth hope your son gets settled into your home, I'm sure you will feel better knowing he is safe with you.
Lots more I wanted to comment on, but it's getting late, so will say goodnight and get myself off to bed.
Take care!

Luci - right on about CeraVe SA Cream it’s one of JRs creams Doctor prescribes for him. I mix Gold Bond diabetic Ultimate lotion y Amlactin Aloha-Hydroxy Therapy with a tad of Vaseline aloe Vera intensive care. Then seal with regular Vaseline after. If need be he has to use a steroidal cream if he gets open sore before applying the mixed cream I make with Vaseline top coat. SA version burns a little but works good .

Muddy ground outside so no ball ⚽️ with JR . Maybe tomorrow. Will see what the weather will bring.
Made some Tupperware snack packs to grab. Leftovers of a cheese it box, last airline peanuts from Daughter,y the crumbs from the Pb granola bars bag y some pretzels 🥨 crisps. So approx 150cal total weird odds y ins but filling gets rid of the old y some news that aren’t popular with hubby y JR.
Combined the bags of cereal into 2 boxes.Had some partially full so together tadaaa full bags again.
Watching the BBC while hubby checks the families homes 🏠 🏡 🏠 since some went to each other’s houses to stay. Some left are going right back to there’s. More realization not better off in another part of the countries, states,or towns really. Might as well stay put unless you have to move back home with a family member for caregiver or loss of job roles.3 -

I'd replace CDC recommendations with WHO recommendations and your Federal and State/Provincial Gov't recommendations ... but other than that ...

I am very fortunate that I don't cook for recreation and I've been a minimalist shopper for years. I shop in very few stores and wait until I have a long list before going to any store. We have a young friend who has volunteered to grocery shop but I think I'll wait until I really need to go (probably in two weeks) and then go without Jake, early in the morning with a list and get everything in a hurry. There is also an endless supply of things I can to in the yard that require no additional materials so I don't have to shop for gardening supplies.
Amber, I know things are more challenging for you than for me because of your child. I am impressed by your resourcefulness.
Jake cleaned up the hobby room (he had been using it for painting ceramics) so I can use it for dancing with my walking friend. We have declared her a family member since she has come into our house every day for years. Thus I feel comfortable having her over to dance.
When we spent a ton of money in January for Jake's new computer, we had no idea how important it would be. It is a never ending source of entertainment for him. He is a very high risk person and shouldn't be going out or having people over. Today he called three friends and tomorrow he plans to call three more.
I am also grateful that we have completed all the paperwork for our income tax and have only to wait for the refund to be deposited into our bank account where it will sit until next month when we need it to pay the property tax.

Thank you! for well wishes! It is the first step getting him home. He still has a road to recovery. I am hoping we can work together to create a garden.5

"Get to do"s and "chose well"sChose well: firehall postings by 10, Denise’s for email list work, invest 10 mins cleaning dining room
Bonus: veg prep
Get to do: 3/20 T’ai Chi, recycling, Library, veg prep for tubbing with Carol, invest 10 mins cleaning Master & Guest Bds, board meeting minutes, bake something for Joe, Freddie’s for complete series TDAP <$48, get Shingrix vaccine, Reward: inventory seeds, plan garden, order replenishments.
Dog group was going to maintain social distance while meeting at a park in nearby Crescent City… until the Governor issued a stay home order for all of California. Will go to T’ai Chi (average attendance 5-6) tomorrow morning, but not be surprised if there’s a closed sign on the activity center’s door. Yesterday I was anxious, tonight I am sad. Line Dance, Dog Group, BB&B, so many “last”s.
As Kylia, Heather, LuciB have said, thank you all for being here. Feel like this is my “last” connecting thread, and grateful it’s woven with so many strong strands.
KJ ‘boutdamtime the essential nature of your work is recognized! Sounds like you have good protective protocols in place. Those essential workers don’t realize yet how lucky their children will be. Bravissima.
Margaret praying right now you can bring your son home today. Would love to hear you singing, if you post to YouTube and make it public, the link should be ok here in a spoiler. Just read you can bring son home tomorrow. Thanks be!
Lisa would your son wipe the air blower above his seat and keep it for the duration of the flight? It might filter the air a little bit. that “squirrel”. May she stay far from our dogs. And the “door.” DOH now why didn’t I think of that?!?
Flea Joe recently finished London’s “Scarlet Plague” another for your reading list. He and the gas station guy agreed they feel like they're in Steven King's "The Stand."
Rori ((hugs)). Hope the thick blanket of snow brings a few moments of peac.
SuziQ walking breaks every two hours, yes. Thanks for the reminder.
Rita can you invent some “errand” to send your DH walking to the opposite side of the park a couple of times a day? You deserve a break!
Okie “…refugees” what did I miss?
Katla Mr. Critical-Grumpy husbands are NO fun :noway: Time for one of Barbie’s “loving conversations”?
Beth, until you said it, didn’t realize Lanette’s “good neighbor” was a door mat. Reminds me of one Joe bought that, instead of “Welcome!” said “Leave.” Your parents’ police department epitomizes “to protect and serve.”
Kim sorry your girly drill was inadequate. Doncha just hate “…for the little lady”
Amber prayers said. Well done on the pantry and fridge.
Machka now that is one wise fox. Thank you! Hoops skirts, sure, but that hat? :noway:

Today is International Day of Happiness
https://www.dayofhappiness.net/#new
And this is similar to our Gratitude Calendar that we've done in Novembers.
Coping Calendar: Keep Calm. Stay Wise. Be Kind.
1. Make a plan to help you keep calm and stay in contact.
Part of my plan is to stay home more days each week. I'm getting stuff done, spending time with my husband, and avoiding the crowds.
Today I'm particularly happy because I've been able to spend the whole day at home getting a bit of extra rest, listening to classical music on ABC, and working on my uni homework while my husband has been busy doing stuff in the kitchen.
In a hour and a half or so, I'll go downstairs to exercise. We would go outside, but it has been a rainy day so we've been cozy inside.

Margaret: I am so happy for you! You get to bring your son home!!!
Luci: I’ve had a colonoscopy in the past and will submit to this one. My appointment is not until May. The prep is the worst part. :ohwell:
Allie: Thanks for the good news that Rebecca is okay. Do you know what OMAD is? I sure don't.
Machka: Thanks for I cannot control / I can control. It is a good reminder for me that my actions will benefit me if I am paying attention and doing safe and positive things. I can hardly wait to see the photos of you in your hoop skirts.
Barbara the Southern Oregon Coastie: DH is in a better frame of mind today than for the past while. We did a project here in the house that has big rewards. He was the brains of the project and I was the gofer. The honeycomb blinds in our bedroom are all working properly now after a long time of not so great. YAY! I’m reading a series of books by Robyn Carr, the Thunder Point Novels. These books are set on the Southern Oregon Coast. It is all fiction, especially the relatively short distances they drive to visit family in Eugene and the Portland area. I’ve driven that freeway and it is a LONG drive. The road between the coast and I-5 is also a long drive. I’m enjoying the books but grumpy about the geography. :grumble: I keep reading anyway.

About COVID-19 ..."We could be looking at up to 12-18 months of this.
Countries might be enacting some degree of control measures right through until a vaccine comes along, according to a new modelling study from Imperial College London.
Realistically, that could be 12 to 18 months away." (Read More)

I have been very glad to hear of various possibilities that might fight the virus, but we do need to be realistic about this. It isn't going away next week. It won't be gone by Easter. We won't likely be able to travel very far this winter (or summer for the NH people).
Social distancing, hand washing, and improved hygiene will have to be with us for a long time. It's the world's "new normal".

Godmomkim -- You okay? I saw the news this evening, and I immediately thought of you. This order doesn't change anything for you, does it?
Much love.

Machka now that is one wise fox. Thank you! Hoops skirts, sure, but that hat? :noway:
I think that's actually the top layer of the dress. It's so ruffly etc. and her hoop skirt is so big that she has two people with sticks lowering it over her head.
I just need the hoop to pop on when I'm out and about ...

Still feeling fluey and achy. Feel like I have a temperature, but I don't. Dry eyes.
I've asked my doctor friends by email, but I don't suppose they'll know.
I've had this cold last week and still a bit snuffly, so it could be some post cold thing. Google thinks it's a stress reaction, but I'm not particularly stressed. I don't feel ill, apart from the aches.
Anyway, we are snug in our house and don't need to meet anyone. Can't go to the doc. Not allowed.
Boris is hoping to get his post viral testing out before too long. That would be very, very good. But it's usually promises, promises.
Amber - We don't have a President in the UK. Because we have a Queen as the head of state, we only have a Prime Minister. Weird, I know.

Good Friday
Michelle- I use my daughter's shopping card for the points for gas for her. I have a card, but don't need the points for fuel (work pays my fuel- one of my benefits) . I just put in her phone number at checkout. If there is a great digital coupon, I ask her before I use (like for coffee). Maybe if you order groceries for daughter, you could just use her card at that time......
Storming and flooding here this morning. We are still working. Some of our customers are calling from parking lot to leave mowers (kind of like carryout without food) That may be a way to stay open.......just no one in store.....rubber gloves, hand washing, wiping counters, etc. My oldest is at home as all speech therapy families have cancelled. Her husband is now working from home. Two kids at home. We video chatted last night. She was laughing that her introvert husband was trying to figure out what to do! This is my family that is never, I mean NEVER, home for more than 24 hrs. They have played board games, made puzzles, school work, cooking, reading, and yes video games. It has been raining. Youngest daughter still working at hospital. Her husband working with me. I think I will call those grands today.
Magaret- so happy that the next leg of you and your son's journey is progressing. Prayers continue.
Part of me would love to self isolate for 2 weeks. The other part knows that folks need their mowers.....
Lisa - you made me laugh!
I love all the tips, suggestions, and encouragement!
Probably need to get a few things done (like bills paid) this weekend. My calendar is suddenly quite empty......As long as my husband has his phone he will be in good shape 🤣🤣🤣

Managed the whole exercise routine this morning, so I'm not ill as such. Feel fine. Just a bit achy, especially wrists and thumbs. I was hoping I'd caught the virus mildly, but no such luck! Just some random old bug.

Strong storms work me up early (like 4 am). Got some of the mess of papers for work organized into my emergency binder. Thought through some other steps we need to take (hard to get actual think time at work!). Haven't exercised all week and feel it. Getting home program started tomorrow and will do my best to keep up with it. Need it for stress release!
Going to get crazier in the next week.
Be cautious all,

Machka I screenshot the calendar. I want to print! I need to make a schedule/plan for down time otherwise I will likely park my butt in the recliner and waste the opportunities to accomplish something!

Ginny- I understand the hard to find time to think at work. Normally, we are so busy at this time that I can't think at work, hence paperwork brought home. Right now staying caught up which is scary in and of itself. Thank you for popping in to let us know you are okay.

Barbara AHMOD - My BFF and her family are here for Spring Break. They were supposed to go to Paris, but couldn't so they came here last Thursday instead. Their son surprised us by showing up for a couple of days so I had four for awhile. They are all heading home tomorrow (I think), the daughter back to NYC and my friend and her hub back to the Bay Area of California.
OMAD is One Meal A Day
Katla - I love the Robyn Carr novels, especially the Virgin River series. I don't know Oregon geography so that doesn't frustrate me.
