We are a bit worried about the BnL that my husband acts as the caretaker. The assisted living facility called to say he had been taken to the hospital for a very bad nose bleed. They could not stop the bleed and has been admitted. When my husband contacted the facility, he was told that the BnL could not come back until they were certain he had not contracted the virus from being in the hospital.

Did Jilllian Michaels Killer Cardio DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do Cathe Pure Strength Strong Legs DVD
Put my coat in the wash. Hey, might as well get caught up on some of those little things I’ve been meaning to get to. Fried the flounder. Question: when I fried it it stuck to the pan and almost all of the breading came off. Does anyone know how this can be avoided?
Annie DE – I’m so sorry about your daughter. I know how very much any parent wants to go to their child’s graduation.
Amber – thanks so much, but I have an Android so I couldn’t download the app even if I wanted to. Those pictures look like another form of mahjongg. Salt water in a pool is much easier on the skin so it’s not surprising that you have less irritation
Tracey – the daycares are closed??? We just spoke to Denise and she said that her daycare is open. After the start of this virus, how long was it until they closed the daycares?
I wonder if this forced quarantine will change people’s buying habits? They’ll see that they REALLY don’t need certain impulse buying things.
SuziQ – I’m guessing that Denise may not even know where the drill is. When I was up there when PJ was born, Pete would put EVERYTHING away. I had a bag with a craft that I was doing, he put that inside an end table. I had given Denise a hot air fryer and the box was on the floor, he put it out of the way on top of the refrig. So it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if he put the drill away someplace where Denise wouldn’t see it. Oh, he’s already drilled the holes for the one gate, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he was hoping that he wouldn’t have to do it for the other gate. Like I said, he doesn’t know how lucky he is that I’m in NC. You know, I’d rather get something for Christmas that I want and that I’ll use and think of the person who gave it to me every time I use the item. Good for you wanting that drill, I bet you got it, too. I’m starting to make a list of things I want to do and just have one or two things on that list to do each day. Like today I want to put down the paver sand (Update: done) but I do have to wait until this afternoon. I also want to mark on the spine of my DVD’s how long each one is (maybe tomorrow, put down weed killer and didn't expect to have to do that). Sometimes I need to do a DVD that’s shorter. Not offended by your post one bit. I do remember when I was in Switzerland my girlfriend had a very small refrigerator and went out almost daily to get food. Heather – how is this being addressed?
One advantage to this quarantine, if anything it may be good for the diet. Who wants to go out to get more food? No junk food in the house means you can’t eat junk food. But on the negative side – fewer veges and fruits. Then again, that's not something that is sold out. Things like mac & cheese, frozen pizzas - now they are sold out.
Kylia – first off, what is a kindergarten hug? Another thing – when we lived in the Poconos one time my hands were REALLY dry. Dry to the point that they would bleed. I tried every lotion in the book and nothing helped. Then I remembered that my grandmother used to use glycerine on her hands. Well, I figured “why not, I’ve tried everything else. What’s the worst that can happen – nothing?” Well, the glycerine worked! But I do have to say that it is greasy and when I put it on, I usually put gloves over it.
Speaking of church, I got an email from our church saying that they will continue to have the daily masses, but as soon as the total of people reaches 9 they are going to lock the doors. Wonder how this will work? I certainly wouldn’t want to go somewhere and perhaps not be able to get in
Allie – we were wondering about my appt to get the permanent crown put in. This isn’t an emergency, and if anyone is in close proximity to a person it’s the dentist. Should be interesting.
Li2… - welcome. Great loss
Rita – I’m with you as far as needing to get out. You have no idea how much I looked forward to going to the post office!
I suspect last time I didn’t make the mix of weed killer to water strong enough, so this time I made it stronger. I would like to go to WalMart just to get more weed killer. We should probably also get the cleaner for the deck at Lowes. Update: probably won't go to WM, something like that can wait. Unless Vince wants to go tonight.
Katla – no cases??? That’s wonderful ! <blush> My heart is just telling me that I need to help (plus…it helps me get out of the house)
Jess called to say that the sister school to Iowa State, Nebraska State, has cancelled all classes until the end of the year so she thinks it’ll only be time until IS does. And when they do, she’ll be coming home. I told Vince that I think she’ll go up to VA, but he just said “wait and see”. Who wants to be home all the time with their mommy and daddy?
I’m continuing to work out. But I must say, some days it is really hard. Mainly because I miss being with people.

KarenVA .... I think some of my new anxiety about food shortages is in response to mandatory quarantine in the event we become sick or in contact with someone who is sick. And then, I read Amber's post about hunting for food and wonder why that is happening there and can it happen everywhere? I absolutely wigged out on my older son and husband when I saw them eating like gluttons earlier today. I need to chill...
Heather and others who commented ... thank you for your support. We have been struggling with the quality of our son's care before this crisis.... which is now heightened. We will have many issues to address when he returns. And he will have to return as the whole point is to get him established somewhere in preparation for the day we cannot take care of him. At least now we can file grievances and make complaints on his behalf.... which, Amber, we did Monday afternoon! Not the first time I might add.

KatlaIn addition to what I said above, elective medical procedures are being cancelled all over the country.
We cancelled teeth cleanings, a follow up visit to my partner's orthopedist, & her physical therapy sessions.
I am guessing from your last post that this mystery colonoscopy recommendation has more to do with the assistant's ignorance than it does to do with anything your doctor wants.3 -
Beth- Way 2 Go on reporting those thugs!
Good news is here they have now as of last night implemented 2 of each items limits online y in store! So We should be able to get a few things easier than before hopefully. My Aunt an hour away in a tiny town who couldn’t get food they issued this a couple days ago she went in still empty areas but she could find enough odds y ends to whip up a few meals (She cooks for Dad y Uncle 1 meal then Dad eats alone the other). So hopefully the 2nd cousins both with babies can now find formula to a few of their favorite toddler foods but not all. They’ll survive.
Friend near Houston (Kids Godmom) still no 2 item limits in her stores so no meats or anything she going again today look under shelves to in bins for that 1 item folks missed. She has a metal heart valve cause she was born without it . So she’s high risk yet has to go to work to shopping 🛒 no choice. Hopefully this junk will end soon .

Lol found out my Cousins restaurant friend became famous on Facebook as a hoarder lol 😂. He was buying for the restaurants takeout orders that were in the rise.1 -
BethAh, I see that you are worried about an actual mandated quarantine. I wonder if that would, then, apply to the whole family or just the PUI. I guess maybe we should all try out one of the delivery options just to see how they work so we won't be worried. I am so lucky to have neighbors and adult children who would go get some groceries for us & leave on the front porch if push came to shove…just as I would for them...3

Dentist y Pediactrics told us JRs 3rd Birthday visits are cancelled come in after Coronavirus so unknown when he could be 4yrs old by then or by the end of April will see what this weird disease want to do.

For no tea reuse the bags twice to 3xs or the tea spoon with the leaves in it . Had to do that as a single mom used the 3rd dip to flavor rice 🍚.2 -
Can disagree all you want but they called cancelled his wellness checkup.
I can’t force them to take him. Their office their rules. Dentist sent an email then called to cancel. Dr Office I called to make the April appointment was asked if it was an emergency? No . Well please call back make an appointment when theirs a emergency or possible illness they read a list off of symptoms to call immediately for.

Tea ☕️ we reused when I was a single mom because food y money was that tight. That’s life. It got me though the hard times tho.3 -
Machka: In your situation I think work from home would be ideal. It seems to be mostly computer work from what I’ve gleaned from your comments. I wish you sensible bosses and a reasonable work situation. Our grocery stores are well stocked but there was a panic buy out of toilet paper. Hopefully the panic will subside soon and we won’t have to worry about availability. We have a reasonable supply on hand for now. :ohwell:
Sue: I hope things go well for your daughter. I don’t know what company she works for, but I imagine they need to be able to ship and receive. Sending good thoughts your way. Your mom is lovely and so is the kitty. :flowerforyou:
Tracey in Edmonton: Can people facetime or skype to their loved ones in the care facility?
Kim: You are blessed with a caring neighbor. I hope things go well for you.
LuciBThinner: Happy Anniversary!
Pip: I don’t know whether our fitness club is open. I haven’t checked facebook to see what they’ve arranged, but my last yoga class had a teacher and three students. I suspect that yoga will be off of my list of choices for a while. Our county has had no known cases so far.
Barbara: Your school bus food delivery is brilliant. Small towns have a lot going for them.
RVRita: It is amazing how empty your park seems to be. It is also spectacularly beautiful! :flowerforyou:
Amber: Thanks for The Lock Down Blues. It put a smile on my face.
Heather: Good news that your friend is okay.
Michele: Congrats to you for working at the soup kitchen. You are one of the angels today.
Lisa: I love “this too shall pass.” Thanks!
Lanette: The teleporter function is a nice one, but it is essential to have the time machine function as well. Perhaps we can all teleport to the days when the virus is over and done.
Our cleaner would ordinarily come today but we’re skipping this week. I’ll vacuum up dog hair and call it good. We’re otherwise tidy. My car is still in the garage for repair. They need to get parts for the bumper that was damaged. Luckily, DH’s car is available and runs just fine.
Cologuard test came back clean and clear BUT my doctor wasn’t happy with details and wants me to go in for a colonoscopy. I am NOT a happy camper. I have a tentative appointment in May. I plan to talk to her via phone or in person as soon as I can arrange that. I need to understand.
Be as safe as you can.

I very nearly said that in a work e-mail today, Heather, and hastily erased it... everyone's getting touchy about everything... *sigh*
And should have expected it, but with the whole organization working remotely, there have been hundreds of flying emails today to "reply all." Kinda over it.
Lisa, glad the working day is done, in AR7 -
DH's younger daughter called. She is in a bit of a state and it always upsets him. She lives in Greater London and has still been going into work as a magazine production editor. The company hasn't decided what to do. She can't work from home because she doesn't have internet at her apartment.
She is panicking, worrying about London going into total lockdown. If so she would want to leave her ground floor apartment in a dodgy area immediately as she doesn't feel safe there. She has horrible neighbours. Really horrible.
So she is thinking of going to live with her sister, a bit out of London. She fears her apartment will be broken into etc. Plus the mortgage. Plus no job. Plus she lives alone and , like Michele, she is a people person who is normally out socialising every night and constantly travelling abroad.
Of course he said she could come here, but I think she will go to her sister's, who also has just lost her contract job. She may have got some work for the Belgian defence department, but to do that she needs to collect a secure laptop, which is in Brussels. :noway: Hopefully they can courier it over somehow.
At least neither daughter has children out of school, but it's a complete mess and both of them in despair. I hope he sleeps tonight.

So after my little flipped wig earlier today with my gluttonous family, I made dinner and just had a small portion. Still hungry, I went back for maybe a 1/4 more. Oh. My. They were all over me. "That's tomorrow's lunch" "You've had more than enough." "You said you were dieting." We all had a good laugh!9

We ventured out today for Jake to see the doctor about the test results from two pulmonary tests. He left with a prescription for an inhaler if he wants to use it. The doctor told us that as long as things are like this, they will be calling in prescription refills for regular meds without a required doctor visit to allow people to stay home.
I can line dance at home all I want and all my students know how to find videos and instruction for their favorite dances online. The sad thing is that so many of them live alone and have counted on the class for the social interaction and friendship.
Yes, these are truly "interesting times". I hope we can all learn something from them. I am learning more about setting priorities, gratitude, concern for others less fortunate, using technology in useful ways, and how to enjoy my own company.

Barbie my painting class is creating a group on Facebook so we can all keep in touch. Those who are not on Facebook the instructor is going to contact them via e-mail or phone. We are just getting started with this. We paid our instructor a fee. I am glad to continue paying her for keeping this going. I know money is tight for her and she appreciated what she earned from our class. This way we can help her out and it gives her something positive to work on. Some may not be able to contribute because of their own finances so we will see how it goes. I would like it to work.6

I’m still trying to figure out the new rules for my city. They extended health declaration they made again for 90days. I still can’t find anything on Doctors to Dental y eye care to figure out why there having there changes.
https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2020/03/18/explained-new-declarations-of-emergency-issued-in-san-antonio-and-bexar-county/
I did find this running out of masks for Doctor in our area y Dr Jaafar (he’s a great Doc met him once really liked him) is trying to buy masks even himself checking patients who think they have the virus in the parking lot. He’s the kindest Doctor so hate to hear he’s struggling through this. https://www.kens5.com/article/news/health/coronavirus/they-put-us-in-the-front-with-no-ammo-san-antonio-doctor-says-he-doesnt-have-the-supplies-he-needs-if-coronavirus-peaks/273-fce105ee-cfa4-4795-92e7-134ecbacd595 Dr Jaafar used to treat my Mother .
My grandma wanted to come out of nursing retirement but my Uncle has to remind her he does the gas key 🔑 is in the field (the emergency key to shut them off from the main office for up to 6miles away) he can’t get sick he runs a lot. My other Uncle in Georgia also works for the gas company but is in an office so working for home when asked to. Grandma was assured by her old colleagues that’s not necessary...she’s 90yr old range having memory issues plus can’t hear us when we scream 😱 barely could only imagine her trying to do nursing now. Other Uncle said he’ll write out a corporate letter to keep her home have someone else sign it lol so she doesn’t catch on (never know when their joking or not).
We’re up to 11cases for our city (not including ones in bases) https://www.expressnews.com/news/local/article/Medina-County-resident-is-hospitalized-in-San-15137971.php
Lackland has way more than 11 as you can see says numbers here don’t include theirs.

Car update - it’s a power train module that needs replaced. Battery is fine. That part is very pricy though.
Katla - we bought an iPad yesterday so that we can have residents Skype, FaceTime or FB messenger chat with their families. My Mom’s nursing home has been doing this for a few months now and I love it. I actually chatted with my Mom tonight, she told me there’s a bad flu going around.
Barbie - I know nothing about this, but I see one of the teachers on my Facebook is suggesting Google Hangouts for the children that are missing their friends. It might work for your dance class
Michele - All daycares, licences dayhomes and schools closed here on Sunday (March 15th) night effective Monday morning. The first case of Covid was found on Jan 25th. Last week it started really ramping up. Our parents are being told not to expect school to reopen until September. Students will be graded based on their marks at time of closure. Most provinces have closed restaurants except for take out and delivery. We are trying very hard to contain, but people are so selfish and just don’t listen.
I got my new glasses on the way home tonight and there is such a prescription change that I am struggling a bit getting used to them.

Margaret and Tracey, Thanks for the ideas about keeping my line dance students connected. I'll keep them in mind if anyone in the class suggests that we stay connected. There are about 50 students who regularly attend and I don't have contact information for many of them.

Well, guess who is going to have company in a few days? Jess knew this was coming and I think we did, too. My first thought? What will I make? Well, I have enough chicken, I made a lasagna and today I fried flounder. That’s a start
Started one of the diamond dotz. I’m making one of a pineapple for the condo and another one for a girlfriend of mine along with one of a flamingo.

Good evening,
Update from our areaMore closures. Luckily my hair colorist isn't in a salon. She is disinfecting her room between each client and leaving it up to them. Still up in the air on massuess as she is medically licensed not just spa. Wait and see. My youngest daughter let me know tonight that the hospital she works at has its first covid 19 case. They took him immediately to air tight room on Saturday, discharged to home on Sunday. Wait and see.....She needs to work from home. Across our state line they are shutting down non-essential businesses effective Friday at 5pm. Agricultural can stay open. Part of me hopes this will be an option as I know more closures are coming. We are agricultural. Part of me wants to hide away at home for 2 weeks. Big stores like Lowe's and Wal-Mart are exempt. Small businesses are taking a big hurt.
Was really slow today at work. I actually posted on our work Facebook page that we are open. I also found the local community page and posted to that one. From there the Centerville news picked up the post and shared. If we have to close, people will just buy mowers and parts at those big box stores. I figure any posts help!
Michelle- thanks for the glycerin idea. I did wear rubber gloves today with lotion on hands. Better tonight.
Hugs to all as we go through the challenges added to our everyday experiences!
I find comfort in knowing no matter where you are on this planet, we are all touched by this somehow. I am not alone in my concerns.
Sleepy time,

Tassie has essentially closed its borders and has declared a State of Emergency.
The Australian government is also trying to emphasise "social distancing" but people aren't getting it.
Meanwhile, I went out at lunch and picked up some movies and a few other bits and pieces. That will probably be my last foray unless I really need something. I'm happy to pull up the drawbridges now (with the exception of work and public transportation, of course).
However, if I do have to go out among other shoppers, I want one of these!
(Today, I'm in a line of 4 or 5 of us. The people in front of me are well spaced, but the woman behind me is so close she's touching me. So I stepped aside, and then she wanted to stand right beside me. If I stepped forward, she was right there again. I was about to say something when she took a phone call and stopped walking/pushing for a moment ... then I was next in line and away. 1.5 metres people!!)

"Get to do"s and "chose well"sChose well: not going back to 3/11, starting today, 3/18: board meeting minutes, BB&B (last one ), Farmers’ market, Tumble to groomer, fire district board meeting.
Bonus: lop and burn brush
Get to do: 3/19 firehall postings by 10, Denise’s for email list work, recycling, Library, invest 10 mins cleaning dining room (discarding prior carryovers, starting fresh) board meeting minutes, bake something for Joe, Freddie’s for complete series TDAP <$48, get Shingrix vaccine, Reward: inventory seeds, plan garden, order replenishments.
Last BB&B class this morning for the foreseeable future. Bittersweet. The strenuous activity always eases any anxiety I brought with me. Coach read us an inspiring poem about being survivors, will post it when he sends me the full text. But it was sad, felt like I might never see the core group (6) of us together in the same way again.
SuziQ two of my favorite Christmas gifts were 1: a mini screw driver set from Mama, 2: a “girly” pink tool set with pliers, wire cutters, nut and screw drivers from Joe. As a bonus he threw in a small xx that didn’t come with the set. Gotta love those who know and love who we are!
Machka yes, some of the new normal is welcome. Re: the herd immunity article, that sure is a zinger of a key sentence. the social distance bubbles

Margaret “…you do not have the right safety equipment to help her” this is why our volunteer fire department has regretfully opted out from responding to medical calls. They don’t have the gear, no gloves no5 N95 masks. (If they go to a toxic fire they use their air tanks.)
Beth bless you for sticking up for your son and taking them both in for now. the good laugh about your portions after such an extended fast. Humor is key to surviving this all with grace.

Don't know what next steps will be today. Have stopped public coming into buildings to try to limit exposure. Paperwork is getting dropped off and we are processing everything we can. Not enough resources for everyone to work from home. Will be deploying some key staff who can handle major stuff to home-want to get it tested out to see how it works and figure out bugs before sending more. Unfortunately, putting call centers from home is not doable at this moment (we get a huge volume of calls). Staff is spaced out well in individual cubes and is by and large following social distancing. People cleaning things like crazy. Getting everyone to keep desks cleared for proper clean several times daily.
First challenge of day is taking staff temperatures before work (other duties as assigned!). Have supervisors bringing in scan type thermometers. If someone has fever or they refuse they will be sent home. Don't like any of this, but we will do what we need to do.
Stay safe all,
