Tracey ~ Love the photo of the chubby baby! My BnL in assisted living just couldn’t understand why my husband was not going to bring him a new stash of sodas. We had to explain that we too were in the elderly group (72 and 71). We are sending the drinks through Insta Cart.
Kim ~ So sorry for the situation you are in and so glad you are surrounded by caring people who will help you in this time. My son’s restaurant will likely have to close and I pray that all the employees will be helped in some way. We are thankful that we can help our son if need be. He is the manager but has only been there for a month.
Michele ~ It seems as if you are going about your daily life as usual. Are there no virus cases in your county? I imaginge the host of your game shut it down due to that. I was surprised that your bowling was not cancelled, but, guess there were not that many who would be there.
Hoping that Jess is able to keep up with her studies and grateful you sent her a care package.
Margaret ~ It seems that you are well prepared to visit your son and I am sorry that you won’t be able to during the lock down. I hope he continues to get better.
Sue ~ Your mom is a lovely lady!
Luci ~ Happy 25th anniversary!
Kelly ~ I continue to be amazed at the wonderful learning opportunities you provide your young day care children. Your creativity and zeal for teaching are so admired by this former teacher.
I mentioned yesterday that I had made my first ever online grocery order from Kroger. We got there at the appointed time and everything I had ordered was out of stock. The only thing we did get was cokes and wine...guess they are not in high demand. I just can’t believe how people waited to the last minute to wipe out all the food and had not planned ahead for what was surely coming.
Happy St. Patrick's Day to All

As soon as the Governor of Washington shut down bars and restaurants, the place we meet for line dance announced their closure. Their main reason for their being open is their bar and restaurant. So no line dance classes for the foreseeable future. I can dance at home, but many in the class rely on the social contact. Nearly everyone in the class is over 60 with many in 70's and 80's and one age 92.
Today Jake is baking bread and I'll be cooking the turkey when I get back from walking the dogs.
I have lived a life of near isolation for years so the only change for me is not going to twice weekly line dance classes. But I think a lot about people whose lives are being supremely altered.
I was happy to hear that the church that hosts the local "warming center" (a place for homeless people to be indoors overnight when the temperature is near or below freezing) has been allowed to keep that room open even though everything else at the church is closed down.
Kim, thank you for sharing what's going on with you. Your ability to be grateful and see good things in times of crisis is a bright light to me.
Once again, I am reminded to stay in the moment.

Carol I think they will briefly allow visits for the time being. I choose to call him now because I don't want to risk bringing this into the hospital. I have tried to minimize being around others and tried to complete errands at off times but I don't know if I have been exposed. It will be phone calls for now and I am okay with that.
I admit it was hard to leave last night becasue it has been four long difficult months of poor heartbreaking contact with him. To hear him say I love you after 4 months of how awful I am and I never want to see you again and having to clean up a mess in his backyard that was a garbage heap he created in the short time he was allowed home in these past four months.Let's just say I will never look at butter the same way. When he was in his state he seemed to think everything was better with butter on it. Fortunately we had snow at the time so it minimized that mess. I do understand why he did this he was in such a rage about what had happened to him. Those details would need a book to explain. I was just happy he didn't hurt himself or anyone else and he did not lasting damage to his house only his things. Things can be replaced or fixed. I was able to salvage 95% of his stuff. He is irreplaceable.
I didn't write about this at the time this was happening becasue it was so overwhelming, so yes I do understand those of you who cannot her one more word about 19.
I think they will have him out sooner than it would be because he is rapidly improving now and I think they are trying to free up doctors to deal with the potential outbreak. Hopefully our state has done enough soon enough.
Is he magically cured and will he ever be like he was thirteen years ago? No. I just treasure when I get to see him smile and laugh at one of my jokes as he did last night.
I do think the experience I have had dealing with our son does help me deal with 19. I have experience in dealing with a tragedy over a long haul. Someone said this already. This too shall pass. Take a breath.
Is there a magic wand that will make everything better. No. As I said to my son I learned the best I can do is everyday try to make the world or someones day slightly better, make sure I say my pleases and thank yous, give Kindergarten hugs. This is enough for me.

JRs new found fun like a cat 🐈 he squeezed into boxes lol y Baby cousins (3rd cousins. From my 2nd cousin who was pregnant with me)
City Church nondenominational as an example can watch theirs if you want too Church- Google the younger folks churches in your areas they post On their web site sermons from now to past even ones from the pastor made from home! Youtube has church services recorded to musicians like the Black Wood Brothers .Can still go to church just change your idea of it. Even radio to tv ministries. Some pastors if you ask will mail you a recorded sermon or let you pick it up at a certain time.
Bannana- fridge keeps them fresh inside longer but even if they go “bad” as people coin it mushy blk inside their still good for protein shakes to banana 🍌 nut muffins cause they get sweeter. Can also put in the freezer then defrost plop into a mixing bowl. Hubby found 3 tiny bunches of super green brick hard bananas so they’ll last a long time.
He also found 2 tiny bags (4 small ones in each) avocados 🥑 super hard not ripe yet.It in the fridge then put it out it will ripen by morning.
Bread y milk- can go in the freezer . Cousin couldn’t find baby formula in her town so she grabbed a bunch out it in the freezer for the tiny baby but will be winging the older tot off milk for the time being (3yr old the older one)
. She took my advice on not going by that Docs advice! So her bone thin baby is huge y taller than the 3yr old now lol . Healthy as a horse! The way God intended babies cute rolls healthy grins! She now taking my advice to help the 3yr old grow some to catch up. The Doctor has them on ridiculously low calories so barely any growth! Yes their like us mixed the sisters like all our kids roll the dice on white or brown skin (skin conditions that can steal your color effects 30% of the family who is brown so the fun virtillgo).
Pools y hot tubs - Just as long as chlorine or other type of germ killing solutions is in it maintained properly on time (only what pool companies advice ) it’s safe by what I see is great exercise. Salt pools with no chlorine I’d check what’s in your solution make sure it has something to kill germs (not sure about those).
Lots of recipes out there to make your favorite foods without ingredients you normally use. No egg can make without on lots of things just cause it calls for eggs 🥚 doesn’t mean you can’t use it if your at the end of your pantry stock or craving it. Protein powder can be mixed with water. Cereal can be eaten with juice ,milks any kinds even vegan ones, kool aid,or water folks do it every day. Unleavened breads to pancakes without eggs 🥚 are done regularly. No white flour in the store? Consider the bag of wheat you saw. Hubby found a box squished covered in dust under a grocery store that’s wheat pasta- it will become spaghetti now... can also use less pasta sauce just enough to lightly coat so it lasts add water to the container like you can do shampoo to detergent to get a last use out of it. Time to get out your books 📚 to you tube on living on a budget to every day things with other uses. Theirs videos on pioneer ways to do stuff even bake bread in a fire place or campfire cowboy 🤠 cooking ones. Lol watch the extreme cheapskates videos lol 😂 theirs some fun ideas lol.
Plastic sacks from the store to an empty jar can use at the moment if need be wash y save time if your stores are hit hard. Can reuse jars to bottles as cups to make butter in or store up some rice in it even use it for kids projects to occupy! Grocery store Plastic Walmart bags we carried groceries home in can be used for us as a diaper pail to rope to temporarily tie something. Always a way around stuff just keep an open mind
Out of laundry detergent? Grab shampoo 🧴 or shave a bar of soap 🧼 if you got a stocking bag to wash delicates put the shaved bar pieces in it to protect light colored clothes into the wash. Laundry lines can be made out of rope to even draped over a branch always a way. Hang in a city apartment shower 🚿 after work by the time you get home from work again it’s dry you can shower off.

Margaret My heart goes out to you. Your poor son reminds me of my brother, although my brother is so much more stable now. A few years ago when he was living in his own apartment, I cleaned up a disgusting mess involving food, garbage, cat litter, old mail, used pipe tobacco, etc., etc., etc. It was unimaginable. He was angry & resentful for years over issues that were a total mystery to me. Now I get loving letters and phone calls from him. I am so glad for you that your recent interaction with your son has been positive.
Kim Like Lisa and her funny cards, I am having all kinds of thoughts about embroidery ideas sparked by ?Lanette? ?Heather? or whoever suggested the "I survived…" patch. I'm thinking "I survived…" sweatshirts with a variety of amusing sew-on patches…starting with toilet paper roll?... You just need to figure out how to market them. They would be popular!!!
Barbie You are the best prepared of all of us! I know you will miss the line-dancing, though.
Carol Shoot. That's discouraging about your on-line Kroger order! I was thinking about doing that, but maybe not. I had reasonably good luck going to Kroger when they first opened on Sunday (store nearly empty), but had to make the best of what they had in stock, which would be nearly impossible ordering on-line.
Lucy Iris is a cutie-pie! Happy Anniversary!
Kelly Those boys are so adorable.
Machka It took me a long time to find the four-leaf-clover. What does that mean?
Allie I love your generous spirit during a time that is stressful for you. Your neighbors will love their little gifts.

Those needing jobs - Right now Medical industry (dental to nursing) ,Grocery stores, trucking industry for food to to delivery 🚚 type jobs are temporarily hiring. If you got a forklift license to nursing your in demand

Hello my friends. Love you all.
Went for my 5k, though it had clouded over by then. DH had to wait in for an Amazon delivery so I went on my own and listened to the Soul Music podcasts. Send In The Clowns & New York, New York. I've heard them several times, but they are still wonderful. The last bit of the NY one always brings a happy tear to my eye.
Fewer people on the seafront and no ice cream queue. Jogging back past the butcher I noticed they are considering going to delivery only soon to avoid infection. It would be awful if we lost that amazing shop through isolation. I will certainly order stuff from them. In the meantime they are opening later one evening a week.
DDIL has had to postpone 40th birthday celebrations and she obviously thinks we will soon have to isolate from them. I would like to see them soonish at a social distance, maybe on the seafront.
I tried to buy her the Sweaty Betty leggings she wants, but they are out of stock.
My thoughts on the logic of it all.I think we could have adopted an alternative protocol for this crisis. Instead of ruining everyone's economy with long term shut downs, we should have self isolated all the old and infirm straight away (including me) and allowed the young and fit to mingle, catch it, and get it over with and provide herd immunity. That way businesses could pick up again sooner and the vulnerable would be shielded.
Oh well. We are pottering along. Mushroom risotto tonight with broccoli. I think a couple of glasses of white wine. One for the risotto and one for me.

Now their talking about senior citizens only shopping hours like they did with community swimming pools back in the day
Weird idea 💡.
Poor younger generations getting blamed for spreading this. Yet it started with our generations not there’s so who knows. Blame them the ask for their help . Not a loving way to do it .Everyones spreading it not just 1 generation age group.
Amber Tx1 -
HEATHER ~ Your thoughts about the crisis were very insightful! Would never have thought of that. It should also include the less elderly who have a compromised immunity.

One more positive note, our school's snack packs expanded into food bags and ready for delivery/pickup.

A quiet day here. I might have to start my taxes. Or look into a refund for my dude ranch trip. I haven't cancelled yet, but I can't see flying and coming home to my parents. My sister was supposed to visit from Tennessee but she cancelled. I ought to start a knitting project. That actually releases dopamine. And it beats boredom eating. This is going to be a long two weeks in my head.

Daughter said O blood types have a significant lower risk for the virus 🦠 than others. A blood types may have a higher risk.

My best Portsmouth friend thinks she may have C19. She is up in her York flat at the moment and is not feeling too bad. She would like to know if she has it.
She is going to let my difficult friend know. They were together last week for the theatre trip that I had to cancel. My difficult friend has co-morbidity.
I envy my friend if she does have it mildly. I am going to ring her tomorrow afternoon for a chat. She lives alone.

Heather Someone was looking out for you that you did not go on that trip!5

Heather- Big hugs prayers for them their families.Hope they didn’t come in contact with any pregnant family members to older ones. Stay safe my friend you got a 2nd chance twice now. Cruise y this.

His pastor is quarantined 2weeks after his trip abroad that got cancelled (his sons wedding 🎩 👰). Happy St. Patrick's Day! Still dry and sunny so got my gazebo area mowed. We also tried to burn our burn pile but it was still too wet. DD worked on getting the blueberries weeded. Horses are out in the backyard munching grass and goats are munching on the apple branches that were pruned from the tree.
Luci - Happy Anniversary!
Amber - Saline or salt pools have chlorine in them. The salt water is run through a unit to separate it into chloride and sodium. The chloride combines with hydrogen in the water to form chlorine. It is just an easier and safer way to chlorinate a pool as you do not have to store chlorine on the premises.
Kim - yay for being an agricultural person and yay for great neighbors.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA5 -
Did another section of Rockin Body DVD. The plan for tomorrow is to do Jillian Michael’s Killer Cardio DVD.
Well, one of the gyms I go to has closed down until the end of next week. So there goes my water class. I was hoping they’d at least be open, but no luck.
Well, Newcomers cancelled all activities for March and April. I had just gone to the store to get vegetables to take with me, but they were out. Decided to get these cheese cubes and some Triscuit crackers. Now I can just take them back.
Then went to one gal’s house to see if she can decipher this crochet pattern I had. Try as she might, she could not get the count to come out right. So in the end I’ll just look for another pattern for a blanket to make. I like to have one in case I need a gift for someone.
Luci – happy anniversary. Be still my heart!
SuziQ – thanks for asking about PJ. Yes, he’s OK. You know babies are made of steel with a rubber coating. He just got a few rug burns but that’s all. Thank goodness I’m in NC because pete would really be hearing from me. Maybe this will make them think about how the place they got really isn’t good for a baby. But I know that Maria wanted them to have a new place (because that’s what she wanted) and the father wanted them out of the house so they got the first thing that came along. If it had been me I would have gone out and bought a gate that I could use even if it was temporary. Depending if I already had the gate (and I think they do) I would have hired a handyman and had it installed.
I’ve decided that I’m going to continue to serve at the soup kitchen. Yes, I’ll be exposing myself to all those people and potential virus. But they need to be fed.
Took Loki and he got his butt shaved.
Lisa – I agree with you that online sales won’t be the same as impulse buys. Like Vince got something like 8 boxes but only because they were there. I honestly don’t think he’d order them online.
Carol GA – when you got your online order, did they have a minimum that you must purchase? How much was it? The one time I ordered online for pickup at WalMart I didn’t know to mark that I didn’t want substitutions so they gave me a different size alcohol bottle than what I asked for. I called them to ask if I could return it and they told me to just keep it and they’d take it off my credit card. That I was shocked at – WalMart giving away something???
Barbie – oh, I’m so sorry you won’t have your class. I know how much you love it. Hopefully, you’ll have it back real soon
Amber – oh, salt pools DO have chlorine in them. What happens is you put pool salt in the pool, the salt goes into the salt water generator where it is broken down into sodium and chloride, then the chlorine goes back into the pool. There usually isn’t as much chlorine as there is in a community pool. Really, there is no such thing as a pool that doesn’t have chlorine in it. Otherwise you’d have all sorts of bacteria growing. Sue gave a much better explanation. There is no way we could use shampoo in our washing machine. It has to be HE (which doesn’t have as much suds). I do wish I could find a mahjongg game for free that I can play online with others. American mahjongg. Thanks for posting that song. We need a little smile
Rita – that park looks like it fits into the alien theme
Later girlfriends.

My daughter's college graduation is pretty much cancelled. They are trying to think of a way to do it online, but I can't see how it would be worth the trip to Virginia in these conditions. I guess I can only hope that she is healthy and happy. She still won't answer my texts.
