Unfortunately that's life these days ... especially for those of us who work right in the midst of it all.
Happily ... my calendar is clearing right up! Just about everything is either cancelled or online now. It's like a breath of fresh air not having to go here, there, and everywhere.

We are still pretending business as usual...and I am being told that I have to keep planning my education sessions as they stand for the next 6 months. Hmmmm...lets hope they get their act together soon.5 -

It is almost business as usual here. Almost all the "non-essential" stuff has been cancelled or postponed ... but university continues (online now) and work continues.
No kids, no pets, not much time to take photos of flowers or scenery. It's pretty much all work, university and exercise when I can fit it in.
At work, we're trying to get as much of the "usual" stuff out of the way so that we can focus on COVID-19 issues as needed.
At home, there's no need to panic. Supplies are available. And I'm quite looking forward to being able to spend more time on my uni stuff ... and perhaps also exercise!
My husband is talking about trying his hand at baking bread! And his tomatoes are ripening so he's finding recipes for sauces. We've got chicken mince and spices so there might be spaghetti or taco filling on the menu soon.

Michele: I had no trouble finding food in our town, but TP was a huge challenge. It is funny what some people hoard.
Annie in Delaware: I’m happy you had a good day.
Barbie: I recently turned my Cologuard test into our local clinic. It was sent off to a lab. I haven’t seen test results yet. :flowerforyou:
Rita: I’m glad that you can stay in your spot in the park. It is a good thing to have the place to yourself just now.
Machka: I hope your stresses ease away and you can get real rest. :flowerforyou:
*Tomorrow I drop my car off at the repair shop to get the fender bender damage repaired. DH will have to follow me so that I can get a ride home. I'm glad we're finally getting the car repair done.
**I am currently counting blessings. DH and I are doing okay. So are our adult children, our four grandchildren, and our sweet old dog.

OK, where are these cabins exactly?
If I could, I'd nip off to a cabin like this for a couple months just about any time ... and who knows ... when I finish university & graduate, I just might try to find something similar for a few weeks.
Give me bicycles & bicycle gear, hiking & trail running gear, books, my camera, some paper and pens and I'm set.
What might you bring to a cabin like this if you were to stay there for a couple months?
M in Oz2 -
Machka: If I was vacationing in a cabin like that I’d take food & water, books, bug repellent & my terra-tryke. I’d hope for DH to feel good enough to come along.

Last night I got an email that no mass is to be held in any church that can seat more than 100. Wonder how long this’ll go on? I’m sure they don’t want to miss Easter. Wouldn’t bother me if we didn’t have mass next month since I’m supposed to count the collection money and if there’s no mass, there’s no collection money.

Anywhere from 2-6 months. Many services have gone online here.
We're in this for the long haul.

My university has gone to online courses with this addition:
"For any activities where online delivery is not possible, alternative approaches are being developed. These include the introduction of intensives, once it’s possible for students and staff to physically gather."
In my opinion, that's how courses should be taught. I've thought for a long time that universities need a complete overhaul.
My idea of the ideal university would be lectures online, online discussions, good old fashioned individual research papers and exams PLUS occasional intense, professional, concise conferences/seminars and/or workshops/labs.
So perhaps the current situation might be a catalyst for change!
After work today, I walked to my Run Strong class. It's a small class and we're outdoors so it wasn't cancelled.
An hour of running technique practice along with strength and stretching exercises!
I also did 17 flights of stairs today ... didn't have time for more.
Since I finished one assignment this morning, this evening I need to do something with laundry and start my next assignment.
The next assignment is about Smart Cities!

Machka if I had 2 months in a cabin away without internet or tv I would take,.....books, cross stitch projects, hiking shoes, camera, boom box and extra batteries for music. Katla My husband would come with me only if he could have his phone. We watch very little tv when we are in the mountains, usually only at bedtime for news. We sit outside, he talks on phone🤔

MachkaMy cabin would have running cold water, light sources, a stove for heat & cooking. It would be fully furnished. There would be a general store within driving distance.
I would take my dogs, some books, my favorite pillow, sturdy shoes & practical clothes, bug repellant, a magnifying glass, a flashlight, a deck of cards, some stationery, & my banjo. My partner would come with me, but would last only a week without technology. Then she would go home, leaving me & the dogs to fend for ourselves. We would secretly like this. I would learn to play my banjo again, write a heartfelt letter to each important person in my life, write in a journal, explore my surroundings, sleep, meditate, walk, sit & do nothing, & play with my dogs.
Heal.

Katla You opted for Cologuard!- good to get that issue resolved. And glad for you to get the car in to the shop this morning. The sooner you can get that behind you, the better.
>>>
My daughter-in-law sent a message saying she will be Learning Coach for my grandson the next 2 weeks. I am going to send a checklist of his assignments, which she will appreciate. As far as I know, we will still be taking care of Lilly 2 days a week.
>>>
Going to Kroger at 6 a.m. yesterday was a good idea. Very few people in the store at that hour.
>>>
Kiwi My partner is a pretty good bread maker, too! Do you keep sourdough starter going? I would like to do that. What are your favorite breads?

Meditation - 30 mins ✅
HIIT - 30+ mins (abs, core, cardio)✅
Yoga - 20+ mins

I am so proud of my granddaughter! She told me that last weekend she met some friends at a local mall to hang out. She realized that these weren't people she should be hanging with when they kept trying to get her to vape, take a hit(pot), or have a taste (alcohol). She separated herself and got to another store, then called her parents to pick her up. She has had a tough year figuring out wise friend choices. The first incident was a "boyfriend" . The rule is everyone she hangs with must meet her parents especially boyfriends. This particular boy wouldn't come meet the parents. Daddy said he had a week to stop by and meet. Day 6, boy broke up with her. Fast forward about a month, boy is involved in a robbery of another teen resulting in a murder and him getting shot. He is now in jail! I know we have to let our grands grow up, but I just want her to have good friends! She is learning to make better choices.
VirusMy husband is now getting paranoid about me and customers. I told him I am wiping and washing, not hugging and kissing. He wants me to wear rubber gloves. I still would need to wash. I have posted on our Facebook page that if you just need parts, call ahead, we can get them together, customer can pay by credit card, we can deliver to vehicle with proper id Our building is small. I am trying to avoid hanging out and crowds. Schools closed, churches closed, bars and restaurants are carryout only. Thankful for internet and phones. Online church services. Online schools. Online shopping.
In midst of life challenges, my daughter wants me to quit vaping cinnamon flavor. I started vaping about 6 years ago as I quit smoking clove cigarettes. Cinnamon is the only flavor I liked. I have gone down from 12mg to 3mg nicotine. Her concern is that that may be the cause of my WBC issues even though that only started about 2 years ago. Soooooo, will be trying to figure that out. I used tootsie rolls to quit smoking many years ago. Not allowed those. Of course I gained 40 lbs the first time I quit smoking. The second time only gained 20. The third time, i replaced with vaping and only gained 10. So step one, I am placing vape in purse instead of pocket at work. Replacing with water and maybe jumping jack if appropriate. That is the first step. I have y'all for support. We are suppose to be heading into crazy spring, crazy busy, lots of stress. Times are changing. Under stress and concern doesn't seem like the right time to change, but maybe it is.
Stay safe!
Stay strong!
Make the best choice you can at the moment!
We are here for you!

Hi ladies
Heather I'm quite a few pages behind but just read about your "Saga" dilemma, I agree with a few others, take the money now, you can always put it away for a cruise later in the year, we don't know how things are going to pan out. There's already talk of school closures here in York, nothing yet, but it could happen.
Just want to add, I'm very grateful to all who post Coronavirus information, I think it helps to keep things in perspective and helps to make informed decisions.
Back to catching up

We've been advised not to shake hands either ... basically, not to touch each other and to maintain a distance of about 1.5 metres.
As an introvert and probably borderline autistic (high functioning?), that suits me just fine. It's wonderful walking down the streets now ... there are fewer people and those who are out there keep their distance!
And a couple others for those who are interested ...

Hi again Ladies
Amber - thanks so much for the exercise video, I have no excuse now I will give some of them a go , but now I need to go to pay a few bills for my mum, time is running away with me again.

Good morning ladies!
Machka - looking at that cabin makes me grateful for the internet and electricity. Imagine if people were forced to stay home and had nothing to but talk to each other or the dog, lol. Especially after being connected to the world so easily these past couple decades.
All of this baking talk has me on a mission to find some Kalama Sourdough bread. Katla, it might be available down your way - I know you make your own. I'll make a morning trek to the stores tomorrow and hopefully can find some. I've never had any luck with sourdough, but can do a bang-up pizza dough if I need to. Putting yeast on the shopping list.
I am so surprised at the great germination I'm getting with my tomato seeds. Some have taken ten days to show their little green faces but these old seeds are waking up. Not sure if the Master Gardener plant sale will be a go this year - mid-May (I might be officially thrown "out" anyhow by then ) so should have plenty to share with the neighbors if they want to take a crack at raising some.
I stumbled on a prolific dwarf variety last year called "Little Sicily". They truly are dwarf, not huge and sprawling. Very compact, around 2 feet high and plenty of medium sized slicing tomatoes. Perfect for container gardening. I've ordered more seeds so plan to keep these going for years.
Machka - the thought of it being late summer for you and tomatoes ripening makes me happy! And hungry, lol.
Virtual (((HUGS))) hugs all around and tip of the hat to biologists and medical researchers who are working round the clock to get our lives back to normal ASAP. There's optimism with current anti-viral, HIV and malaria drugs and new drugs - trials in other countries are showing success. Maybe we won't be in this for the long haul after all.<3

I lived in a cabin something like that for the first year I was in Australia. We did have internet, but we didn't have electricity ... except that which was created by our generator at first and later by our solar panels. So not much. We didn't have a TV until right toward the end of that year, and instead listened to the radio.
Right now, I have to use the internet for university, but I am really tempted to take an internet break somewhere remote and quiet when I finish. I have taken short breaks of a day or two now and then.

Hi all!
Gorgeous day here! Sun, sun, sun! The café around the corner has its tables out and loads of people are out in the sunshine enjoying themselves and chatting. I went to the hairdresser to get a tiny trim in case everything shuts up in the future. The owner was a bit worried about her staff if that happens.
This evening we are going to walk along the seafront to Fatto a Mano and have a pizza and wine for the same reason. Don't know how long things will be open. I will take precautions, but my feeling is, we are nearly all going to get it sooner or later, and I'd rather get it over with. I'm not mixing with vulnerable people as me and DH are the oldest people we know! Our singing and dancing and French is all cancelled. Apart from that we only see family, who are young and fit. If I feel at all ill, or even off, I will isolate.
Supermarkets are rationing now, thank goodness. I bought some bits from the deli round the corner.
DH is taking the car for a spin, after our debacle at the weekend. We worked out that the last time we had used it was Dec 31st! He will give it a run once a week or so as there won't be any cricket to drive to for a while. He is a bit bereft with no sport to watch at the weekend.
Such beautiful weather and my front garden has been wonderful. The hyacinths have obviously loved all the wet weather in February as they look 100% better than last year. Lifts the spirits.
Still no phone call from Saga.

My parents won't stay home! Ughhh! They made it through Sunday and now my Mom has cabin fever. Hope the stores are empty of people.5

Did ASAP Band Camp DVD. The gal cancelled the extremepump class. (boo) The plan for tomorrow is to do another section of the Rocking Body DVD. Wonder if the gal will cancel the water aerobics class? If she does, I’ll just go early and do my own thing. But that isn’t on the book until Friday.
Vince said he got an email from a pool supply place to the effect that the chlorine in a pool will kill the virus so your pool is safe.
Heard an interesting tidbit about all this coronovirus. It said that people who were constantly worried about 911 had a higher incidence of heart problems. People who constantly checked the news about the Boston marathon had more anxiety
Right now I’m making the second batch of greek yogurt that I’ll put in the freezer. I used the starter from yogurt that I’d previously made for another batch and for some reason I wasn’t too thrilled with the consistency so this time I’m using commercial plain yogurt as the starter
I must have slept weird last night because this morning my neck is hurting. Well..I’m sure it’ll go away
Got a load of laundry in right now. I suspect that right now the house is going to be really cleaned. There isn’t much else to do. But a good time to get caught up on those little things I’ve been meaning to do.
Mary – my way of dealing with all these posts about coronavirus is to just skip them. To me “what will be will be”. Take reasonable precautions – wash your hands, don’t touch your face, sneeze or cough into your sleeve, things like that. After that “what will be will be. If God means for me to get it, nothing else that I do is going to change it. HE has the final word.
I’ve asked Vince to think of something regarding opening the pool that I can do. I know that he has some things that he has to do. We both have to take the pool cover off, but I can hose it down. Anything to get started – and to keep me from being bored which translates into boredom eating. It’s nice and cloudy right now so maybe I can put down the pavers sand. Put down the weed killer yesterday. Now to wait for it to do its thing. I did it myself last year. In a way, it’s good for me to do it because I use more (which translates into less weeds) than Vince uses
What would I bring to a cabin? I’m assuming that it has running water and bathroom facilities. Is there a food store nearby? Then I don’t need to bring paper goods or food. My laptop and exercise DVD’s so I can play them even if I don’t have Internet. I’m assuming it has electricity so I can charge my laptop. Probably a plate, fork and mug. A pan for cooking food in. Matches and a can opener. Something to do (knitting, x-stitch, my tablet on which I’ve downloaded books, crochet), some source of light (hurricane lamp, lantern which uses rechargeable batteries, charger for the batteries, blanket (or sleeping bag). If I take a pet supplies for the pet (food etc)
M – if no mass goes on for 2 – 6 months, I count the collection money at the church for April and June. Looks like I won’t be doing that either month. I do volunteer at the Green Room and they’ve postponed the latest show. Wonder if they’ll postpone for 2 – 6 months? Guess we shall see. My concern is still for the soup kitchen. Donations may be down, more people will go there. But on the bright side this will happen during the summer when gardens produce so they might get more fresh produce.
Kylia – wonderful of your gd. You should be very proud
Believe it or not…senior bowling isn’t cancelled. I suspect there’ll be a lot of people who don’t come. Wonder what Wayne (owner of the bowling alley) is going to do with the 100 people congregate ruling. Guess if he’s included is somewhat of a gray area. Like malls are exempt. It’s not like you HAVE to go to a mall. Really, you don't NEED to go to a fast food place. I can understand supermarkets being exempt.
