Sharon Oh my gosh. Reading this made my stomach drop. I am so glad you are home and OK. Bowel strangulation is excruciating. Thank you for letting us know. I'm glad your daughter is nearby.3

Sharon, I'm so sorry! Prayers to you and positive thoughts for a quick recovery.3

Lanette - Actually something I had to do in my childhood. We did not have a lot of money for luxury items. I'm blessed because I have a washer and dryer and many washcloths. My dear MIL was a crazy hoarder and shopper and for some reason loved washcloths. I actually gave a large trash bag away of brand new ones when she passed. I kept 20 or so just in case. TG I did.5

My opinion is that the statistics regarding the number of virus cases is highly inaccurate and under reported. Locally a man that lived in a retirement community - village (Masonic Home) was hospitalized March 10-11 and diagnosed as having double pneumonia. He was not tested for C-19 because he had not traveled. He was tested on Sat, Mar 14 and passed away on Sun Mar 15. The test result confirming C-19 was available late Tues, Mar 17 at which time his wife, who had symptoms was tested.
This couple had participated in communal dining and activities. Governor Abbott made a trip to Arlington and assured that everyone in the retirement community would be tested. Last night a community health director stated that only those in the retirement home that had symptoms might be tested.
A gentleman from this community regulary attended the senior dances that I also attended. He wore a pin that stated he was a “Hugaholic” and insisted on hugging all the ladies. My last dance was Tues, Mar 10 and he was there. I don’t believe that I hugged him that night. I have been staying at home since this story was on the news. I have had congestion and coughing, but no fever, so think I had either allergies or a cold. I am better today. The senior dances have been cancelled, the last one was Fri, Mar 13.
Prior to this incident, there were 5-6 cases reported in my county and none in my city.

Sharon aka Trucker: I am so sorry you’ve had such a painful health problem. I can’t imagine the level of pain that you’ve had to endure. I hope it is never that awful again. :noway: Thank you for posting and letting us know your situation. I hope it improves rapidly. :flowerforyou:
I went to Walmart, Safeway, and IGA. Nobody has TP. We’re not out, but I wanted another package. People are hoarding. I’m thinking my getting one package wouldn’t qualify as hoarding. I am home for now and don’t plan to venture out any time soon.
I was able to get pain pills for the dog at our vet clinic. He takes one every day, more if needed. Mostly he seems to be managing pretty well with one a day, and CBD oil on a cookie now and then. It things get bad we can give him more.

Sharon - I'm so sorry - I don't know if you had come on this thread yet when I told my own very similar story--it happened to me about seven years after my surgery. They're recognizing it as a late complication from gastric bypass, but it's still fairly rare. I was lucky, and they caught me before my twisted and stuck piece of intestine had died. I'm so sorry you're feeling frail... and yes, that pain is like no other. Hope you feel better really soon, dear heart!5

Crystal light tea ☕️ luckily I had a few packs of them hubby y me enjoying every sip. Adding 1/2glass water to 1/2 pitcher of crystal light to stretch it.

Cathy son and I were just talking about this and agree. I had the Swine Flu and was not included in the count because I did not go into the Dr. I would think in China they might want to be identified either. It surprised me people were willing to go on camera after admitting they might have been exposed.3 -
Sharon - Oh my goodness! Hugs and prayers for a quick recovery!

Margaret ~ Beautiful singing voice! And, you looked so pretty in your video.
Sharon ~ So glad you survived that horrible obstruction and wishing you healing thoughts and prayers for continued healing.
Just learned that my son, a manager at a Zoe's Kitchen, just lost his job due to them closing a lot of stores in the Atlanta area. He had only been with them for a couple of months. Prayers would be appreciated that he will be able to find something better when the virus calms down. His wife (a teacher) may be out of a job for several months. I don't know if they will continue to pay teachers, but, hope they will.

Sharon - Thank you for sharing your ghastly experience with us. You are some tough cookie. Hope your recovery goes well and you've escaped the C 19. You need a break!
I've just been emailing an old school friend who I know is very vulnerable. She has non Hodgkin's lymphoma. I met her again last year after many years. She was my very best friend for a while at school, but things went wrong. Last year we met at our year reunion and later went out for fish and chips. I haven't rushed to see her again and now ....... She lives alone and has issues, but I thought I would reach out. Once upon a time she meant a lot to me.
Waiting to hear if DH's sister is going back to nursing.
Vera repeat tonight. I've probably seen it twice already.

I would appreciate prayer. My 91 year old dad was taken by ambulance a couple hours ago to a hospital in Cleveland Ohio with chest pains. They now don’t think it’s his heart, but his upper stomach (obstruction). (Sharon ... he has a history of bowel obstruction and strangulation ... I'm so sorry you had to go through that). Ambulance left without my mom (89) so she had a neighbor take her in. She went through the masks, temperature, etc and is now sitting in a chair by his bed. He’s still in pain. If she leaves the hospital, she has been told she is not allowed back in. This is not a good situation for either of them and I have no idea how to help them at this point. Neither my brother nor I live near them .. I'm 4 hours away and my brother is 7 hours... and now I have my disabled son home. Trying not to borrow trouble .. but my mind is jack-rabbiting.

SHARON sorry about your op hope you are feeling better
DH and I went to Tesco this am didn't get everything people still panic buying, loaded trolleys
Horrendous queues, no more shopping
We live on a housing estate used to local authority and we have a supermarket there which will probably be better as lots of folks here cannot afford to panic buy
My son doesn't live far and he'll get stuff for us
I have an appt at hairdresser on Monday thinking of cancelling but if I do will pay him and he can owe me one
All pubs clubs etc have to close tonight About time as lots of younger people thinking they are immune still been going out and partying.
Feeling stressed as hate my routine to be disrupted. Need Pips boot to get me back on track

The neighbors who took my mother in behind the ambulance. But they're in their 70s and shouldn't be out either.
He is being admitted for a bowel obstruction and is scheduled for surgery ... waiting on a time.

I wish I could ... it's a multi level home and my son is in a wheelchair. My parents hardly manage the steep stairs. My home is accessible and holds his equipment.6 -
Oh Beth I am so sorry. Prayers.
This is part of why I wanted to get my son out of the hospital. My last visit told me the doors were shutting and I would be allowed back in to see him while there. They were restricting patients to their rooms too. We had a lovely day together. Fortunately we had a beautiful day here too! We went for a pleasant walk around the lake near where he lives.6 -
Beth So glad your mom has a supportive neighbor. Golly, they should be in an accessible home at their age! I hope your dad has a good outcome.

Beth: Prayers going up. Hope your parents angels are present and working overtime.
Sharon: Hope you are feeling better and better every day.
Margaret: Beautiful voice! Thanks for sharing.
I made a creamy cauliflower soup today. It is simple and clean. I topped it with turkey bacon bits. The guys proclaimed it absolutely delish. Here is the recipe: https://www.dayofhappiness.net/#new
Stay well friends.
