Just came back from walk with my son. Someone left chalk out and those walking by added to the mural. Some who wrote Would you be mine could you be mine won't you be my neighbor. I of course sang it and them added musical notes by it.7

So much to comment on but spending time with hubby.
I do want to comment that I am very envious of those of you that can fo go for a nice walk and do something outside. Still piles of snow here.

Went out with DH for my 5k. Glorious sunshine. Plenty of social distance on the promenade.
On the way we sidetracked to an artisan bakery. Not a lot in there, but we got six hot cross buns and a small white sourdough loaf. They were only allowing one person in at a time, no cash, only touch cards, a barrier of chairs for distance and no handing you the bread, they put it down on a chair. Tongs for picking up bread.
Felt very lucky. DH has a hot cross bun every afternoon for his snack. Toasted, with lots of butter. He needs the calories as he is a skinny minny.
We were surprised to see one café open on the beach with outdoor seating. Don't understand that, though I guess families were sitting at separate tables ? Our government has closed cafes, pubs and restaurants. Marroccos has closed.
My friend in York is doing ok with the virus. I hope that continues. She is still posting silly videos, so not dead yet!
DH 's sister, an ex nurse and now a counsellor, has been called in by the hospital to do pastoral care. Bravo!
The stupidest thing I've heard so far is that one supermarket said that the early opening hour for pensioners could be shared by essential health workers. What idiot thought of that!?!? I think it has been vetoed and scorned already. The queues are horrendous, even at 7 am and the thought of high risk workers joining it is beyond stupid. Where do people get their brains?
Machka - the scenes from Bondi Beach yesterday were horrific! Glad the idiots have been stopped now.
Feeling good at the moment. So happy to feel normal again.

They are saying their thinking about Fully locking down my city SanAntonio Texas. Our mobile unit discovered more y more positive nurses to doctors y emergency responders.
Our Community Spread Numbers we’re kept secret only at 1 but now that the numbers rising the city no longer just telling people in the city.Passed 8 community spread.Thats not including the 29 we already had including emergency teams not including a lady from Medina Tx were treating or the folks on base from the cruise ships. So we’re getting worse.

Praying the few groceries I ordered online make it here soon for JR. That way We can make this work out since now we’re expecting a Full city wide lockdown like Wuhan. Hoping they change their mind but we did get this a month before lots of you guys. Our stores that may close insides soon go to curb side y online only (curb side still need Internet to do) they at the moment some are allowing no more than a certain number at a time to enter. Curb side is not order go pick up same day it’s a week at least or so wait then your contacted you pick it up. Gives them time to fill it not sure if lockdown allows to still pick those up or not will see what Mayor says soon for us2 -

Ace Hardware pass putting material on counter and keeping distance. Right number in the store
Byerly's pass cashier cleaned belt and used hand sanitizer and putting material on counter and keeping distance
Bank drive through no wipes. I used a wipe to clean screen
Post Office door to Post Office filthy used own wipe to clean. Others were shocked.
Best buy too many in store, not honoring 6 feet rule, has to wait 20 minutes for clerk when helping a customer with a child they were within two feet of each other. Emergency nurse waiting around she was a good distance but seems to think all will be fine she is on the front lines and I thanked her. Wrote Governor while supply important resource for getting TVs and computers suggest curb side pick up only for them.
No wipes for cleaning gas pumps.
Yes I looked and acted a bit odd but if I got people thinking and or changing their ways I accomplished my goal today.
Thank you to all who are supporting this cause by staying inside. It dawned on me today. Who is there to teach those who don't get it.

Tina - so very sorry to hear of the shortages in your area. I feel very grateful we're getting supplied on most things including eggs and milk, keeping an eye on local stores who are on Facebook. I think maybe once the "shelter in place" order comes out, as it has in your state, people start to panic again?
I saw a notice on Facebook from the local sewage treatment plants to not flush anything other than TP as it will travel down the pipes and jam their processing equipment. They are saying clorox wipes, paper towel, and other paper items don't break down properly. And that probably includes Kleenex and similar facial tissue.
On that topic, I decided to start the wash cloth #1 protocol. Easy peasy and since I'm washing my hands anyhow, simple enough to soap up the cloth and rinse it well, wring it out and hang hidden on the shower faucet. Bonus - much easier on tender tissues "down there" than dry TP. Will grab a clean cloth tomorrow morning. Lather, rinse, wring, repeat, lol.
I probably should have been doing this all along
I was going to head into town this morning to "pick up a few things" - all non-essential. But decided against it, probably for the better. I watched a little of the President's and COVID-19 team update this morning, they kept stressing "15 days to slow the spread" and we are now at day #6. Every day we can stay home and away from others is one more day they are closer to keeping it contained and the curve flattened.
Had some excitement on my early morning walk. Neighbors down the street have a pit bull. They are a few years younger than us. It's the wife's and she always keeps it on a leash and sometimes I see her walking it in her back yard.
This morning, she was walking in the front yard by her mailbox close to the street. I waved and said "good morning" and the dog started barking and lunging toward me. I stood still and it pulled so hard she lost her balance and fell into her gravel driveway - I am guessing the dog weighed half what she weighed- she's probably 110 lbs. Her husband heard the commotion and finally came out.
I resumed my walk, wondering if she could have broken her wrist or arm as she was unable to get up and I didn't dare go near her. Rumor has it her husband never wanted her to get it in the first place, maybe after this they'll decide to re-home it. Or at least walk it in the back of the property as she had been doing.
Stay healthy, peeps, stay home and away from others unless absolutely necessary. Pretty please. Have a good afternoon.

My city Mayor announced were in mitigation. More decisions to come in how to handle the mitigation closing the city (lockdown looks like the step their going to have to do)
It’s spreading faster than they can keep up

Time for hubby to get ours for the 🏡 house he has them in his truck.

Lanette - I'm more annoyed than anything else. Some people didn't hoard so those who needed stuff could get it and we are in that group. Now we really need something and others have bought it all up. So, now I feel the need to hoard too and that is not where we all need to be now.

Well I solved Dads Church problem. My Aunt does the office y music,Dad preaching fill in, my Uncles a Deacon. They liked my idea called Pastor he liked it called their congregation. Sit in cars window down 10min sermon y a prayer 🙏 no getting out of the car then go home. Might work for some of you still call your pastors suggest it.
Even if some can’t hear they may enjoy getting out. No engines on ,no exiting the vehicles at all (only pastor out of vehicle),y no money collected or going in the church even for bathrooms 🚽 so no potty that’s why it’s short. After it’s done approx 15minutes everyone drives home.

Margaret! ... you should have seen my get-up today when I went to work to clean a counseling area and an office that was heavily used this week at our church. I didn't take a picture, but I can assure you there was little skin showing on me. I did cover my head and hair and then followed SuziQ's friends and did the strip down/laundry/don't touch anything on the way to the shower.
DrKatieBug ... so sorry your dad fell! Our parents' generation is so stubborn!
Grateful ...
1. All of you and your support
2. Today's sunshine
3. Online shopping
4. Technology that lets me connect
Mom and Dad Update ...my mom left my dad at the hospital at his request. As she is having back spasms there was no argument. She slept a few hours. My SIL and I have assured her we'll order whatever she needs. She knows how to use an iPad that I gave her that has cellular capabilities, but still hasn't figured out FaceTime. Younger neighbor is checking on her. My Dad is being treated by the same doctor who did his bowel resection a few years ago which is good. Obstruction is at the site of the old surgery which is not good. His pain is being managed and he is hoping that the obstruction will pass on its own. So proud of my mom who is also crippled with arthritis ...when I suggested she do everything she can to boost her immunity right now .. fluids, eat right, sleep ... she told me she had made a pot of vegetable soup ... something she hasn't had in years because my dad can't eat vegetables. She says she has enough for 2-3 weeks! RANT: I am beyond *words* at my brother ... he travelled even further away from my parents to take his young adult kids to their lake house for a "get-away." Seriously??
I was going to go to the store today after my last day at work ... but SuziQ's ... posts kept resounding in my head. And she is right. I have absolutely no business going outside for anything that might come back in this house and compromise any of my family's health. I went online and did online grocery shopping ... and even that is iffy ... we will pick up tomorrow night curbside. We also added items to our order for neighbors who are terrified of technology/internet and the grocery stores. And we have an area in the garage where everything will sit for 48-72 hours or be wiped down before being brought into the refrigerator. And I hope that will be good enough.

The other thing I did early this morning was take an inventory of my pantry/storage areas and fridge/freezers. Everything. This gave me a better idea of what I really have and helped quell some of my wayward food fears and gave me a sense of control.6
-
That’s why I redid the pantry to freezer. More choices to get rid of first that would have went bad. It made me feel better to see stuff I didn’t know we had

My Dad y his group of chuch members y friends don’t know technology either. This is a hard time in them having to learn online ordering even1 -

Hi Gals,
Mortgage issues – It looks like if you have a Freddy or Fanny loan the government will be doing some stuff to help out. My loan is with Chase and when I called a week ago the customer service guy said there is a 6-10 week process to have your situation reviewed so you may want to hop on it.
Utilities – I have one company that provides natural gas and electricity – (PG&E) they let me apply on-line and and just 4 days I got approved for 30% off each month for a year.
Pantries, cupboards and freezers – this may end up being a great time to get a good clean out and time to be doing some creative cooking. I was looking for tapioca (none ☹ ) needed it as a thickener but found tapioca starch I had bought for a Chinese dish and substituted it – total success!
What am I grateful for:
- Support of my friends on line and locally
- Support of my clients – some are doing their Christmas gifts now.
- Levi(my dog) who hugs and kisses me a lot
- My education that has taught me to read with enough critical thinking to not get to caught up in comments without factual basis.
Tina – are you in North or South CA. ? I’m here too.
Beth – I would be frustrated with your brother’s behavior too.

Went out to Lowes at 6 am-got 100' ethernet cable so I won't have state computer in my bedroom. While there picked up command hooks so I can keep it off the floor and don't trip on it and cats don't think it's a toy. Probably have one that length available at work but don't know what staff will need (and there are a lot of them!) so I can have my stuff ready. While I was there I picked up back ups on laundry detergent, etc.
Stopped by Kroger's at 7-they didn't have much chicken out but picked up some turkey, a small roast, some stew meat. Few more cans of soup. My blueberries and salad (I will miss those if I can't get to store regularly). Flavored waters I like. That gives me a stash but not a hoard. One of my managers will go to that store to pick up stuff for her dad and I figure once a week or so she won't mind picking up fresh veggies for me. Planning on being in except for short times in office. We will have a rotating schedule and very few of us in there at once and no need to be close to each other.
Got a few other things checked on for work. Need to do some paperwork to get a program rolled out money to get some extra cash out to people. We handle all major programs in our county for the state/feds-medical, food, child support, protective services. Keeps us hopping and you can close processing work. We will figure this out, just might be a bit awkward.
Time to vacuum up the carpet cleaner I put on. Like most of you, my house will be super clean. Had sick thought that if I get ill I would like the house to look decent if help needs to come in for me! Those of you who live alone can probably relate to that!
Have a good evening all,

Ginny! Thank you for being the sort of manager who honestly cares about their people.
Karen in VA, where did you find that lovely site? The fish and music are just what I need right now.
Machka, sorry for the disagree, but none to be had online. I’m sadly diisappointed in the selfishness I see out there right now.
Life being Life: i tried early this morning to order essentials for either curbside pickup or delivery from Safeway, Fred Meyer, and also delivery from Amazon or Costco. When I started for tp Costco had 10 selections, 7 of which were out of stock. I hit add to cart for the first and it said “item not available”. Same for the other two. No to from Costco. Amazon: literally many dozens of sites selling tp at 1c with outrageous shipping fees. I suspect they’re trying to evade the profiteering police. Many also posted pictures of paper towels calling it household tissue. I’m really upset by this. I couldn’t get milk, eggs or anything else because all the curbside and delivery slots are filled for days. And I still haven’t gotten a test result!
I’m really feeling pretty down at the moment. It’s hard to maintain proper health with this going on. I don’t stockpile much, but I have 3 cans of Progresso soup, and some ancient Brussels sprouts in the freezer. And bouillon cubes.
Sharon Near Seattle9 -
Lots of love to you all, my friends. I am near bedtime and about to start reading a real book. It's set in Oslo, just after the second world war. Change of scene.
Saga sent an email asking for patience with the refund/rebooking situation. Hope to hear this week. Apparently their two ships are now moored at Tilbury and they have offered them as hospital ships. Strange to think of my old cabin as a hospital bed! I don't think it will happen as the government have taken over the private hospitals and gained 8,000 beds.
I've been reading the report from Imperial College, where my ex was a lecturer, which is what our government response is based on. Don't know how to link it to here. My son put it on Facebook.

Sharon, are you affiliated with a church. Someone there may be able to assist. Also meals on wheels maybe able to help. If I lived near you I would make up a care bag. Big hug to you, you've been through so much lately.4

Kim in NorCal- I’m in SoCal. Our mayor put us on shelter in place last weekend, so we are already used to it. It’s not so much different from my normal life. I’m just annoyed at all the greedy people.
A second person just posted on Nextdoor, her need for TP. No one seems to be coming forward to help. I’ll be asking soon.
Tina in CA3 -
Debra CA - stuck in hospital not allowed to go home for awhile now she said. Her baby 2yr old staying with family while she works double shifts still. Keep her in your thoughts
Amber Tx5 -
Sharon - have you tried calling the Red Cross or United Way? Love, Inc.? Area agency on Aging? Even the King County Sheriff - they might know of someone who would be glad to shop for you. Of all the people who need help right now, you are at the top of the list.
The 911 center should have a business line you could call right now and you wouldn't tie up a 911 line. You not a 911 emergency yet but close to it. HUGS Keep us posted!!
