So depressing. It feels like every pounds is such a struggle and it's one step forward, two steps back. I am looking at it as a reminder to check my sodium levels, double check that I'm actually weighing everything instead of going by serving size listed on the package, and making sure I'm sleeping. And if I keep doing all that...I just need to believe that it will happen for me.4 -
I put on a pair of jeans that I haven't worn in 1.5 years and they fit and perhaps a bit big in the waist. Yeah!

What worked for me today was a wonderfully therapeutic hour of kayaking. I was so bummed about seeing weight gain on the scale this morning after two weeks of working hard. I was *so sure* that I'd see a loss that I almost burst into tears when I saw a 3lb gain instead. But I got out on the water and felt strong and calm and happy. It was a great reminder that there are health benefits to eating right and exercising that aren't just about losing weight.15

Enjoying the strength and stamina I've gained so far. I'm probably undereating today because I spent today moving furniture and boxing things up (My 26 year old son is moving into the guest/sewing room for a couple months while he gets money saved for an apartment near his new job. He has a 40 minute commute from here versus an hour and forty minutes where he's living now) and while I'm tired and feeling some soreness in shoulders and back, it's so very nice to know that I can count on my body to handle these things and I won't have to do just a bit and call it a day because my feet hurt. I never would have dreamed that losing weight would help me this much in terms of pain control.7

I went to visit my mother, today. It's one of three trips I take a year and it was right on the heels of my birthday (which I did not expect). I ate what she made for the visit, but I also - even very generously estimating calorie content - stayed fairly close to my calorie goal.
I also did it without upsetting her, by PACKING UP FOOD AND BRINGING IT HOME. Then I stuck it in my freezer for later, to have in reasonable portions. (It's not that she cooks unhealthy food at all. It's just that there's so much of it....)7 -
Keeping my commitment to myself to ride the indoor bike at the gym first before walking with a friend. A few weeks ago I made a schedule for riding the bike and strength training. But if I do a long walk before hand, I don’t have good energy to push myself on the bike.3

What worked for me was dumping half a cake in the trash. All day I kept thinking about this leftover peach upside-down cake in the fridge...to the point where I just got so sick of it having so much power over me. I would actually find myself thinking "I hope I don't make myself binge on that."
So, I just...threw it away. And then I dumped a bunch of salt on it in the trash just to be sure.

What worked for me today was not overeating after kayaking. I’m always ravenously hungry after being on the water and end up undoing the whole workout. Today I ate a small sandwich and gave myself time to digest it. 30 minutes later I was stil hungry, so I had celery with a tablespoon of peanut butter and that did the trick!11

What worked for me today this thread. I wanted to be able log on tonight with a success, and that helped me say no to a Dairy Queen blizzard. I wasn’t hungry and was already slightly over my calories for the day. I’d rather plan for a special treat, fit it into my budget and enjoy it (like an apple fritter tomorrow morning)!7

What worked for me today was tracking "weird" measurements. That is, keeping measurement records that go beyond the traditional ones (bust, waist, hips) including some really odd ones where I figured out ways to measure the little fat bulges that bug me the most.
See, awhile back I started worrying about my progress because the scale had stalled. So I did what everbody suggests. I checked my measurements. Still NO change even though I was SURE I saw a difference and felt a difference in my clothes. This went on for weeks. Honestly, I was starting to wonder if I was delusional because I couldn't find ANY data to validate the changes I THOUGHT I was experiencing. My clothes FELT looser, but I wear so many knits that nothing was really getting too big yet, so I couldn't be sure I wasn't imagining things. It was driving me nuts not knowing.
Then I happened to stumble on a slip of notepaper I'd written before I started losing weight. On it, I'd been measuring to knit/design a sweater pattern, so I had measured all sorts of odd spots--upper arm, upper bust, distance around the neck, etc. Most importantly, I had SPECIFICALLY measured my tummy pooch separately. Turns out, that pooch doesn't show up in my waist and hip measurements because it's located BETWEEN them, and THAT is why I wasn't seeing much change for awhile. But looking at my slip of paper, I was able to verify that my pooch was several inches smaller--halleluah!!!
Fast forward to today and I now measure all sorts of odd spots whenever I pull out the measuring tape. Like, I measure around my upper thigh as well as around both thighs held together. I measure from hip bone to hip bone over my tummy pooch at its biggest spot. I measure the little fat spot above my knees. I measure my upper bust right under the armpits as well as the full bust and the under bust. I measure around my upper arm batwing spot. You get the idea.
The result is that I can now get LOTS more information about what's happening with my weight loss and muscle gain. Thankfully the scale and the "normal" measurements have changed, too, but it's still incredibly satisfying to see those little fat spots go down and have the numbers to prove it!! Best of all, I don't have to worry that I'm delusional any more because I can observe and VERIFY all the oddities of my weigh loss journey. Today it worked for me because I was able to tell that my pooch is smaller and the fat around my armpits is almost gone. Some other measurements hadn't changed much, but these were apparently the latest whoosh area that showed up on my scale this morning.
It's fun seeing where the weight falls away, and it gives me confidence to be able to measure it. Nowdays I'm also experiencing the scale victories and the satisfaction of needing smaller sized clothes, but I still love being able to measure my odd spots.16 -
After 2 people at my gym gained 35 lbs and 50 lbs I decided to weigh every day so I can at least know where I stand. It has worked good for me. No weight gain in 3 years.14

Having snacks ready and on the kitchen counter with me, while I was preparing barbeque snacks and side dishes for my family. I enjoyed my snacks, managed to stay under my calorie allowance and still got to enjoy the special occasion with my family - I didn’t even have the smallest nibble of the freshest metre long French loaf that I was cutting up and preparing 🥖7

Good practice, I weigh daily as well it helps me stay in line with weight loss and my eating and my eventual maintenance . Keep up the good work.🤸♀️4 -

I was on vacation and knew there were going to be some local foods I wanted to try that were pretty high-calorie. I wasn't going to try to lose weight during that time, but I didn't want to come back heavier than when I left. What worked for me was sharing those treats with someone else. It worked - I didn't gain any weight!9

Not getting lazy after my weekly high of weight loss as I did before and instead rejigging my diet to increase protein and decrease some carbs. The higher the fibre, the more full I feel and the longest lasting it is.5

Preparing a large pot of soup two days ago. I was ravenous and didn't have time to cook anything today, so the soup prevented me from eating random junk.9

I need some advice am really struggling so I decided to Came here to seek some advice/information to get batter I will be brief trust me!
I sit 9-10hrs day infront of my monitors working I have have tried to stop the habit of snacking, I can2 find anything to help me or replace, I can’t find something to motivate me I have been fighting to loss weight for all my life.
I can’t find motivation to keep going because I don’t see results regardless of how much exercise or diet I take that cause me to stop.I have healthy Issues too it’s a lot going on with my health so I need someone who been through this journey to help me or a partner who we can fight together throughout.Thanks for your time to read and respond God bless you.2 -

I pre-logged my day yesterday and today. Intermittent fasting - no food until 12:00 and keep under 800 calories. I know it's low but I make up for it during the rest of the week. Pre-logging helps me stay away from snacks4

Although sticking to my calorie goal all-day, I frequently have carb-cravings in the evenings. I shifted my mealtimes around, so breakfast at 1200, lunch at dinner time then dinner later in the evening. I'm hoping this will kill off the carb cravings and keep me within my calorie goal...8

Even though I am SO sore from moving over the weekend, I made the conscious choice to walk home (instead of drive) from work yesterday. That left me feeling super motivated, and I now I can't wait for my exercise class tonight.6

I waited out a craving, it was raining and storming here so I decided I didn't need anything and then forgot about it. Later on I thought well I dont even want that now.13
