7-8? years ago.
I broke up with my high school sweetheart and first boyfriend to play the field a bit and get a feel for if he was really the one or I was just inexperienced. He joined the navy and went across the world, but he never had another girlfriend, and we kept in touch.
He was the one. We're married now. I love a happy ending.7 -
Something I’m listening to just said to women,
“Your so-called flaws or imperfections are what make you beautiful and unique.” And also...
“Men fall in love with you for what you perceive to be your flaws or insecurities, not in spite of them.”
She doesn’t specify physical or otherwise. I can see this to a point but...it can’t be ALL flaws. Do you think this statement is way too broad like I do?
Waaay too broad. People have a mix of good traits and bad ones. The mix is what makes someone attractive. If people had all good traits, would get boring. All bad, they wouldn't even get considered.2 -

What does love mean to you? How do you define it?
Background: my mouth runs faster than my brain sometimes.
What does it mean to me? It means having a bubble in which to say whatever the heck is on my mind, without fear of being judged for bad intentions, because he knows I've got good ones. A space in which to argue about things without the stakes being unbearably high. Having a place where everything I do is not only okay, but even good, or funny, or considerate, because I have no need for claws being out. Love is having a safe place/person.
How do I define it? Love is my partner being happy with me as myself, without the normal filters society puts on behavior/discussion. I don't have to keep my thoughts to myself, I don't have to pretend anything's okay when it's not. A relationship in which I can be completely unguarded, and know that he's riding with me no matter what, and that he chose me, and chose the way I am. And the same but me for him.3 -

Every time I see this question I'm reminded of a few things...
My wife is a huge 90210 fan and I pretend to hate it to annoy her 😂...
There was one episode where 2 girls were fighting over Brandon and one says to the other... "Love is supposed to make people happy Kelly" and I was just like... False 🤮...
And in contrast this scene reminds me of a Chris Rock stand up show where he says... "If you've never contemplated MURDER... You ain't never been in love"... True 🤷🏽♂️6 -

The use of "yet" is killing me rn.
I prefer stable and predictable. I don't need to come home to chaotic surprising 30 adopted ferrets or some *kitten*.
This made me giggle.2 -

I have the greatest man in my life right now.
Been in many relationships, engaged more than I care to count. It always seemed like I was not really a part of my relationship, rather just going through the motions of one - routine. I would often feel verbally assaulted, though not directly when racial issues are discussed via media outlets and my exes would rattle off opinions which were completely insensitive, often adding their late disclaimers, " you know you aren't counted babe " ... or " I didn't mean or count you or your family when I said that.
I have never felt safer and grounded in my essence of me with my current. I do not plan on f*čking anything up, now or EVER.4 -

I don’t care if he has a formal education but
I like him to be smart enough to make a living even when times are tough,
make interesting connections,
good jokes.
I prefer if he has a broad base of knowledge.
I like if he reads a little.
And he needs to be smart enough to know how great I am.7 -
