03/28 - 356.0 - I conducted a little experiment. I live near Philly, where we are known for our cheesesteaks. Lots of shredded meat, cheese, some fried onions and mushrooms, all slapped on a roll. So I bought one yesterday. But while I ate it, I also drank my ACV drink. I wanted to see if the ACV would affect my insulin and fat storage. Now I admit I don't quite understand the biomechanics well, but my calorie intake for yesterday was only 300 under my daily normal intake. But my weight loss was 1.4 lbs. I don't want to do this too often, but when I did our weekly shopping (the ONLY time I am around anyone during this quarantine), mom asked for donuts from our Amish farmer's market. Imagine pie filling (apple, strawberry, etc.) injected into a dough roll. One for mom, one for me. I'll be trying the ACV before eating mine. But I have been using the ACV before I eat my processed carbs and it seems to decrease/affect my insulin and weight loss for the positive. Anecdotal experiment, I know.
03/29 - 356.3 - That'll teach me for eating finger food for dinner. Egg rolls, taquitos and potstickers. WAY overdid it. Very tasty, though.
03/30 - 356.3 - No change... and weird. My calories were short by almost 700 yet no move down. Now I'm confused. I'll just stay the course and hope it corrects in the next few days.

Please join us! Starting on 03/28 JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, we will begin Round 109
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

03/28 158.7 ~ {Steps 8,927} ~ I’ll be home this round so I’m going to have to figure out a new normal of exercising before going to my daughters.
03/29 159.8 ~ {Steps 18,031} ~ We took a long drive and ate lunch at Burger Master, delicious burgers,I did a lettuce wrap with two patties and bacon, yummy. We also had a late dinner. No worries about my weight...... Hence my weight gain, on the bright side I actually got an excellent workout in plus was under my calorie goal.

I' m in! Thank you, @GrandmaJackie!
70 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Then I had hip surgery March 10th. Recovery is slow. Sure do want to be back walking!
The Shelter in Place has everyone freaked. We need to remain calm and respectful of each other.

03/28 192.0 grr I’m tired of seeing this number. I mean I was WAY under on calories, they were almost all high quality calories, plus I had the best run in years. I’m still hoping this is hormonal and will release all at once in a few days.
03/29 191.8 all I can think is my body is getting too efficient. Doing the same things most days, under for calories, but zero weight lost in the last 7 days. I keep saying I need to mix it up but now I have to commit to that with some planning
03/30 191.2 finally some trend down. Overall not huge movement, but better than I’ve been doing. Cross fingers this keeps going.

My DIL just texted me this~
Doctors are reporting they now understand the behavior of the COVID 19 virus due to autopsies that they have carried out. This virus is characterized by obstructing respiratory pathways with thick mucus that solidifies and blocks the airways and lungs. So they have discovered that in order to apply a medicine you have to open and unblock these airways so that the treatment can be used to take effect however all of this takes a number of days. Their recommendations for what you can do to safeguard yourself are ...
1) Drink lots of hot liquids - coffees, soups, teas, warm water. In addition take a sip of warm water every 20 minutes bc this keeps your mouth moist and washes any of the virus that’s entered your mouth into your stomach where your gastric juices will neutralize it before it can get to the lungs.
2) Gargle with an antiseptic and warm water like vinegar or salt or lemon every day if possible
3) The virus attaches itself to hair and clothes. And detergent or soap kills it but you must take bath or shower when you get in from the street. Avoid sitting down in your home and go straight to the shower. If you cannot wash your clothes daily, hang them in sunlight which also helps to neutralize the virus
4) Wash metallic surfaces very carefully bc the virus can stay viable on these for up to 9 days. Take note and be vigilant about touching hand rails, door knobs, etc. and keep these clean in home home
5) Don’t smoke
6) Wash your hands every 20 minutes with any soap that foams and do this for 20 seconds
7) Eat fruits and vegetables. Try to elevate your zinc levelS
8)Animals do not spread the virus to people. Its a person to person transmission.
9)Try to avoid getting the common flu as this already weakens your system and try to avoid eating and drinking any cold things.
10) If you feel any discomfort in your throat or a sore throat coming on, attack it immediately using the above methods. The virus enters the system through the throat but will sit in the throat for 3-4 days before it passes into your lungs.
In addition ...
Experts suggest doing this simple verification every morning: Breathe in deeply and hold your breath for 10 seconds. If this can be done without coughing, without difficulty, this shows that there is no fibrosis in the lungs, indicating the absence of infection. It is recommended to do this control every morning to help detect infection.

I’m absolutely in! This will be my first round so bear with me. Also, feel free to add me, can never have too many motivational connections 💪🏼.
Today was a really hard day emotionally, and I am a stress/emotional eater. This week will be even harder yet and we have a fridge full of leftovers to eat. Goal for this cycle is going to be portion control and finding moments of peace in the stress. Trying to pep talk myself to do some self-pampering, a workout, a meditation, and tackle the day.
The quote that always helps and might help others: “No matter how you feel, get up, dress up, show up, and never give up.”

I am an ICU nurse and am on-call for our coronavirus unit overnight tonight, tomorrow night, and tue night so my schedule is a little flip-flopped.

03/28 …..203.5 ….. Finished my raking yesterday which helped me drop a bit on the scale. My diet was less food but bad choices still. Everyday is a new start. I am hopeful for today.
Good luck everyone on this round.
03/29 …..203.5 ….. Ahhh…The more things change the more they stay the same. I honestly thought I would see a drop on the scale, a reward of sorts, because my diet was improved. However, my calorie burn was almost non-existent so I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. Today is another chance to make myself healthier in every way! For everyone that is shut-in, enjoy your family, pets, that book you’ve been wanting to read, that really good movie and/or that project you’ve been meaning to finish. I am thinking of you all! Have a safe and wonderful day everyone!
03/30 …..203.5 ….. Day 3 exactly the same. I guess I am not making enough changes, but then again, I kind of already knew that, didn’t I???? No changes in my choices, no changes on the scale. Go figure!

Looking forward:
- March: I need to focus on getting back to where I was pre-Christmas
- 2020: Goal is to stabilise weight around 145
- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals
Back Story:2018:2020
My goal was to get down below 160, to allow me to enjoy the indulgences of holidays and celebrations.
2019:
I exceeded that and have been below 150 for most of the last 2 months.
In 2018, I put on 10 lbs over the last 2 months of the year.
In 2019, I consistently lost weight since the end of July. I put on about 4lbs over the Christmas break, but was still below my original 2019 goal.
That's a WIN in my book!
Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Day/Weight/Comment
03/28 133.6 – 9 miles walked yesterday in my allowed daily exercise yesterday. 540 calories in credit, all macros in green. Managed to get all my supplies at the supermarket yesterday, only had to queue for 15 minutes to gain access, no hardship at all in the great scheme of things. Keep washing our hands !!
03/29 134.4 – 8 miles walked yesterday – 39 calories & 75 carbs over respectively. Had a lovely video conference call with DD, DS and little DGC, I miss them so much, but know needs must to keep us all safe.
03/30 133.2 – 7.41 miles walked yesterday, 397 calories in credit, all other macros in green, more protein and less carbs, I'm going to try to stick with that trend. Call out to our heroes, the NHS and those both in the food chain and benefit system, 4 of my siblings are involved in each of those areas, each are experiencing “difficulties” in their jobs at the moment not helped by the public at large who are giving them lots of verbal abuse which they don't need, they are experiencing so much stress already without that. Please be kind particularly to our key workers at this very difficult time.
03/31 133.2 – 9.87 miles walked yesterday, 666 calories in credit & all macros in green. Stay safe everyone.

Goals
Goal for this round, stay healthy, eat healthy, 10.000 steps, and on the emotional side write my diary every day.
03/28 – 154.6
03/29 – 155.6 (+1.0) Yesterday was a depressing day so I think I’m going to put it behind me and aim for a better day today. I’m aiming for 10.000 steps and 30 mins cardio on the stationary bike, maybe a run around the block with my daughter this afternoon which is the most we’re allowed to do here.
03/30 153.6 (-2.0) 1360 cal, 10623 steps. I’m quite happy with that loss especially as I did cave in for some chocolate that I have around the house but otherwise a pretty good day. I didn’t get a high cardio workout but I did a 3-mile walk (from you tube) and later that day I did a “parkour” run in my apartment, I’ll be doing it again later and try to get my daughter involved! I’m avoiding any high impact workout as I have had to stop all immunotherapy treatments for my RA as I was sick, so my joints are a bit achy. I’ve done a daily schedule of things to do but I’m finding it a bit hard to follow lol
03/31 154.4 (+0.8) 9861 steps, didn't track calories. It was the "did not track calories" that messed things up yesterday! I started by keeping track in my head thinking I'd put into MFP later and then got a craving for chocolate and it went downhill... but the chocolate was good lol However I did a 3 mile walk workout in my living room and a weight routine as well. Today I'm aiming to log ALL my food!

Sorry to say this (I disagreed, so I prefer to say why ) but that kind of message just makes the hoarding worse... and as usual it's the vulnerable people (people living on the streets, or who can't afford to sock pile) who will be the most to suffer from it!9 -
Round 109
Female, 5ft. 2 in.
Age 53
SW Montana
Starting Weight: 146.8
Round Goal Weight: 145.8
03/28 - 147.4 Well my son finally got the ok to work from home so yesterday was my last day to babysit the grandkids for awhile. They are toddlers so they definitely kept me busy all day. I'm curious to see how this will effect my weight loss now.
03/29 - 147.4 Stayed within calories, but eating too many carbs. Started some spring cleaning yesterday.
03/30 - 147.8 Boy I blew it yesterday, the munchie monster got ahold of me last night. Today is a new day.

03/28 - 142.5 - Three members of our extended family have been hit with the virus. They were actually at our house visiting 3 weeks ago. They are healthy 30 somethings and their 5 year old, the 2 year old seems OK so far. They've barely been able to get out of bed. They were tested because he's a firefighter. Please be careful.

I need some accountability. These last 10 lbs are brutal.

3/28- 154
3/29- 155.2 This is the wrong way, but that's what I get for not tracking the last two days at all. I'm in a slump. Back at it today. Holding myself accountable. Not slacking off just because I'm close to goal weight because that is a slippery slope.
3/30- 156.6 Yeah I actually have to follow thru on tracking the whole day... Ugh. I have to find my motivation. Hoping this work Monday helps me get back on track.
3/31- 154.8 I think I'm one of those people that will have to track forever. So be it. I got back on track yesterday and when I hit calorie limit I could tell how much more I had eaten the prior days. It's hard, but I can do it. I have to get comfortable with feeling a little hungry. I'm sure if I drink more that will help.13 -

03/28 160.0 lbs 1200 calories, 12,000 steps IF16 hours, it looks like for me to get under 160 I am going to have to get under a 1000 calories, not going to happen this weekend but will try a couple days next week and then hold hopefully. I can't do that long term.
03/29. 159.4 lbs. 1300 calories, 9500 steps, IF 16 hours. ummm I was not horrible yesterday but I enjoyed the 50,s we were having with a ice cream bar and drink outside because April fools day we are back in the 30’s. Surprised at this number.
03/30 160.0 lbs 1500 calories, 9500 steps, If 16 hours. LOL I new that was to good to stay but at least I know my scale goes that low. New week and I will try to get a couple days under 1000 calories to get and stay under 160's.
03/31 160.2 lbs 950 calories, 25,000 steps, IF 16 hours. Apparently I am paying for the weekend still.

3/31- 150.4 measured and logged everything yesterday. Lol I really, really wanted that pint of halo top last night but I resisted. I forgot how hard it is to restrain myself. There are so many factors in this world that are out of my control, trying hard not to let it spill over into how I treat myself. Working on a balance of meeting my daily goals but not being too extreme in setting those goals.14 -
@matratazola, It's fine that you disagree with the message.💓 I don't encourage hoarding or stockpiling like these "preppers". I think these are responses to fear. I refuse to live in fear.
Just be prepared and have non perishable foods on hand for emergencies. Storing pantry items is not stockpiling or hoarding. There's no hoarding going on now where I live. Everyone is limited to purchasing reasonable amounts of food. Even now though, people can prepare for what may come concerning the food supply. When shopping for your fresh foods, pick up a few non perishable items ~ canned tuna, canned salmon, beans, tomatoes, pasta. Purchase with meals in mind, build your pantry. Canned goods can last up to 4 years after the expiration date, except for acidic foods. I witnessed some of the hoarding. Greed at its best and the purchases didn't make sense to me.5 -

Day/Weight/Comment
3/28: 140.0 (+1.4) – How does one gain a pound and half in one day you ask? Hmmm. I’d love to blame the scale. My scale does seem to jump around but tbh, I ate crappy in the afternoon and evening. Popcorn, candy, several glasses of wine on the deck because the weather was nice. Then dinner was take out Japanese bento with sushi, beef bulgogi, tempura vegetables. So much salt and unheathly. It’s a new challenge, new week, new day. So time to move on from yesterday’s mistakes.💪
3/29: 139.2 (-.8) Did a really nice long bike ride and listened to a very good video from a doctor about dealing with Covid. And then had Italian for dinner. Nice quiet night.
3/30: 139.8 (+.6) The flux are due to choices – food, salt, snacking, drinking, sweets. I know it. Now what choice am I going to make to get back on track this week? Eating well, moving my body, drinking water, self care. April is going to last forever!🙄
4/1: 138.2 (-1.6) Weighed twice. Reset scale. No idea. Nuff said……🤷♀️
