@shanaber That could be it. I have increased my running the past few months and I have increased my calories, but now that I look at it, you might be right that what I have increased in eating is not enough? I have high calorie days on my long run days, but apart from that I'm usually at 12-1500 depending on the day. Could it be I'm not eating enough? Oh yes I would be terrified to eat more and gain. Eek. But it worked for you...so maybe...
@Camaramandy648 Seems like the consensus is to eat enough. I need to be more precise on logging. Good running!!!!! I would not run the marathon, but see how you feel Maybe try and get a HM pr? That could be a goal.
@Avidkeo Love the cake!!
Did go for a bike ride yesterday, which was good. Had a televisit with my sports doc. We decided another shot was in order - so Wed I'll go in for it.
Today is scheduled rest day which I will do, and tomorrow probably bike again(don't know if I will be able to or should run) so I can at least get some exercise in.
Wait a minute, another shot? When was your last one? Because that could explain the weight gain. Steroid shots will make you blow up like a balloon, mostly water weight but also some real weight. I gained a pound a day for a week following a shot to my knee!
You know, I briefly thought it could be that, but then didn't really think anything of it.
I had a shot mid Feb. so it could be! But if it was water weight would it really last this long?
Did your weight ever go back? Oh man, and now I'm getting another. UGH

I second the steroid shot gain. In February- March I had one in my hip, one in my shoulder, and then my butt for posion ivy and oral prednisone. Then another in my shoulder 2 weeks ago. I'm down 3 but still up 5 pounds from pre-steroids. Mines not water, I ate everything thing. Am still eating everything...1 -

No running today, logged in for work at 6:00 this morning and 12 hours later just getting off. I’m exhausted, I hate Mondays they are the worst day for me.
@katharmonic and @hamsterwheel6 the arm is drying out good thanks, I wish is would stop itching, but I’m starting to think that’s because the skin is so dry. It’s flakey and ugly.
@PastorVincent and @quilteryoyo so right on the Doctor comments ha ha
@hamsterwheel6 do you weigh in grams? I find that weighing in grams is much more accurate unit of weight. Ah the mention of 1200 calories, I know this is scary but raise your calories a couple hundred for a week or so and see if that helps. I don’t know why but when I hit a weight loss plateau I found that adding more calories for a short time then dropping back down seemed to jump start things again.
@katharmonic how is Stella?

@brittanystebbins95 Thanks for the birthday wishes.
@scotr6255 I really hate to hear that. Take care of yourself.0 -
Oh, @Scott6255 I'm so sorry to hear that news. Sounds like you are asymptomatic? I hope that continues and all three of you will be recovered/healthy. Do you guys have some outside support to help you get things you need, etc? Wishing you all the best.
@skippygirlsmom Stella seems to be fine, thank you! She walked fine today so hopefully all is well.2 -
So ugh. Stupid mistake. Dressed for 40-45 degrees and went for a run in 60 degrees+ lots of sun. Yeah, that stunk. Ops.4

@Scott6255 so sorry, take it easy and take care of yourself. This stupid virus is such a *kitten* *kitten*.

And I've just realised that due to time zones, you will get two pics in a day haha. Well more than two cause cutting pics.9 -
@scott6255 - I’m really sorry about the results. Hoping that your aunt recovers quickly and that you don’t develop any symptoms. Tough for your wife too. I wish you didn’t have all this worry and will be thinking of you all.
@Avidkeo - the cake looks beautifully neat and that mirror glaze will go on a dream! Well done. Can you get someone to film you pouring it?! 😉
Just a short run for me this morning but I kicked it up a bit speed-wise. Still slow (still terrified of falling) but sub 11 minute mile average for the first time in a while.
Have a safe and happy day all x

@Scott6255 I am so so so sorry! I will be praying for you as well - please do let us know if there is anything we can do.0

Thank you ALL for your thoughts and prayers. We have some family fairly close that is providing support. I truly feel fine, and would bet many of you had/have it at some point, but without any symptoms there is no reason to get tested. I honestly think as the 24/7 caregiver, my wife surely had to have had it and is now over it. I probably caught it several days later from her (as I have had zero contact with Betty in the 3 weeks she has been here), and just getting through the last of it when they took the tests last Thursday.
That's the only rational explanation (for me).
Testing is the key to everything in scaling back the Stay-At-Home orders. But without symptoms, we can't get tested. And the antibody test would be great to know if we have already had it, even if we test negative.
Frustrating.9 -
@Scott6255 Best wishes for a speedy recovery. I'm glad that you're feeling well at least.

It was a lovely morning for a run. The sky was clear and there were lots of stars out when I started. It was 59°F with a light ESE wind. It was just about perfect running weather. A little humid, but tolerable. I tried to take it easy and think I did a good job. I ran 5.4 miles and had an overall pace of 10:38 which is pretty good for me. And it felt fairly easy. I used today's run as the Un-canceled project 8K. This weeks theme is inspiration. I tried to think about things that inspire me, but honestly I couldn't think of much. It seems like there is a lot of division lately. I did stop and take a picture of our courthouse this morning. They have been "lighting up the courthouse" the past year or so with different themes. For patriotic holidays they will light red, white and blue. For "back the blue" they do blue, they also did blue last week for healthcare workers and at Christmas they do green and red. This week they are green in honor of the senior class of 2020 who are missing the end of their senior year. I thought it looked pretty so I took a picture. It was really nice this morning and started getting light about halfway through the run and by the end it was really light and I had turned off my noxgear vest. I was also happy to be able to run through the park on my way home and saw a couple of walkers that I know walking in the park.
2020 races:
5/16/20: Run for 57th AHC Half Marathon 🤞7 -
Oiselle is having a birthday sale!1

@kgirlhart Nice run. I'm doing my un-cancelled race this weekend. I am having trouble deciding what inspires me too. That's a hard one.1

@quilteryoyo I did a little 6.2 last night and after rereading my post, I feel that it may have sounded so narcissistic - Basically I inspire myself, rotfl, is what it sounds like. But that's out of context - finding out I am capable and have more ability than I thought inspires me, sure.
But what else inspires me is the love of this community. We are all cheering each other on and for some of us, we're the only ones cheering us on.
I believe in the collective heart of this group, and that is more inspiring than anything else.
@Scott6255 you bring up interesting and valid points. Speaking of the same - I'm pretty sure one of my sisters just disowned me because we feel differently about the virus. Except we don't even feel that differently, it's just that our actions are informed by different belief systems and priorities.
I.E. She doesn't have a job or kids so it's easy to stay home and play with different seed varieties, etc.
I, on the other hand, have two special needs kids who are REALLY struggling right now and I am also an essential worker so I have to go to work each day....
I digress... *Sigh* I'm sorry you have to go through this!7
