Janet ~ I had to go back and find your post. I don't know how I miss some but just want to say how sorry for all you have had to deal with since Christmas. Praying for poor little Jaxx and for the loss of your bnl and sister.

Best news from my doctor today. I am off one of my blood pressure meds, talking about eliminating all meds in the next couple of months. Walking 30 to 60 minutes a day , most days. The 47 pound weight loss helped too.12

I had nightmares last night and woke up screaming. My DH touched my shoulder to reassure me. I turned over and went back to sleep and woke myself up singing out very loudly. I could hear DH sighing. I took myself upstairs so as not to disturb him, but the rest of the night was peaceful enough. I have a feeling that the dream was something to do with a protest march.
I hope tonight goes a bit better. I don't think I've ever shouted out twice before.
We still haven't had more than a few drops of rain. Hopefully tomorrow. The ground is parched. Sunniest, driest spring on record. It has turned chilly though.
I feel a bit guilty because I didn't write this morning. I needed a little moment to draw breath before the next episode. Maybe Sunday.
Much love to all and welcome to the new people.

It’s a workout designed to increase your metabolism, so it’s a mixture of strength training and cardio. They tell you to exercise until you can’t then rest until you can so that you don’t pace yourself at too low a place to increase the correct hormones. There’s a 2 1/2 minute warm up, then 45 minutes each of 5 exercise cycled through 4 times then a 2 1/2 minute cool down of stretches. The one I did today was push-ups, rows, jumping jacks, squats, plank. There are three screens, one for beginner, one for intermediate, and one for advanced. I choose according to my ability. I do the intermediate push-ups, the advanced rows, the beginner jumping jacks, the intermediate squats, and the advanced plank. It takes 15 minutes. If you want, you can do it again for a 30 minute workout, but I’m concentrating on doing the 15 minutes consistently for a month. We are encouraged to go for a walk afterwards to continue the fat burning so I do follow it with 30 to 60 minutes of walking.6 -

Did a Bikini Body Lose Weight DVD. That’s one of the new ones. It’s good, but I don’t think I’ll keep it. They keep interrupting the workout for some Doctor to give a small talk. I want to exercise! The plan for tomorrow is to do two of Jane Fonda’s workout DVD’s that are mostly stretching
Tracey – my father used to use a rubber band around his wallet! Congrats on your report.
Soup kitchen today! First I want to stop at the sheriff’s office and drop off some expired medications. Then I need to see Lynette
Talked to Jess this morning about the dog. She tries to show that she really felt the people waited too long before taking the dog to the emergency care. She’s right, honestly. But I know deep inside she’s feeling bad, even tho she doesn’t want me to see it.
I meant to take a walk yesterday after dinner and totally forgot. See, if I don’t exercise early in the day, it doesn’t get done. Well, it’s cloudy right now. Hopefully, it isn’t raining after dinner and I can go for a walk Update: I went for the walk
Pip – there’s house near us that has a sign for a “soft wash”. What exactly is that???
Janetr – ((((HUGS))))
Tracey – I’m sorry that you can’t see your mother. Hopefully, next year you will
I don’t know what’s up with MFP. It says that I have a 1 day streak. I know I’ve been logging. Well, to me that’s a bogus number anyway
SueBarry – wonderful! Congrats
Washed my car and then went in the pool

Hi Gals,
Janetr- ((((((hugs))))))))))))) So sad to hear!
the spoiler is just me whining... think it helped to write it out.All of the upheaval is wearing on me… I think for me it is fear, fear of getting covid, of both my mom and brother getting it (they live together and are both very high risk), fear of all the financial repercussions to shut down ( embroidery is slow and camp may fold) and exhaustion I am tired of trying to find one more way to pinch pennies, of coming up with another angle to advertise the embroidery business, of coming up with some other service/product to sell. And sadness my heart breaks for the protesters who have been hurt, the folks of color who have been mistreated, the business owners who have been looted.
And over all the feeling of having to face this all; all alone. I have friends, here (you all) and non-online friends, but unlike what you might tell a spouse or a family member I have Levi (the dog), and while he is a great listener he rarely comes up with a new idea. Most of my friends are married or partnered and just seem clueless to how hard life can be when you get to do it alone. I get that many partners are not as much support as I imagine, but I also know there are some amazing ones, as you all share about them. When I could have friends over it would distance and distract me from being alone. The conference calls (zoom/face time) are supposed to help but they really don’t – the first few minutes are fun, and then it is just depressing. They tell about food delivery, or the new online lessons they are taking, or the backyard remodel and in my twisted mind while I am happy for them it’s just one more thing I can’t afford.
I am so not like you Machka, I miss the contact, the touch, the lingering over coffee, the cleaning house to have company, I even miss the conversations in the line at the grocery store.

They are working on getting it back to California which was part of our problem. Kirby got it running, not bad for sitting for 7 years1

Kim from N. California, leaps into your line of sight....((((((hugs my Cali friend))))! I do better with a "touchy world". I prided myself in talking with a stranger every single day. I can still do that if I yell across the street to strangers as I walk around my neighborhood. Think simply about things friend. You don't have to carry the weight (and worry) of the world on your shoulders. 💖 Try not to compare your world with others, you do you. I have gotten really careful with the media I take in. I can't change how others deal with the negativity in this world, but I can control how I respond to it. I still want to see the good in everyone. To know my glass is half full and that mindset. You are questioning decisions being made, and issues you are handling. Trust in knowing all things will be well. Maybe set up mini goals for situations you are hesitant about. You are a thrifty person, and that in itself is awesome. Do not minimise your achievements thus far girlie! You hear me??😁

Ps, I will send ya my Chief on loan. Warning ya he is grumpy, doesn't eat veggies, and doesn't garden. Other than all that, he's a dream.💖(more like a nightmare), but hey.....keep him watered, and outside, but not in sun. I will poke holes in the box, but he might be a wee bit dizzy. (said all in jest, because that's how I roll)💖

Tracey: I understand how difficult it can be to travel to see family. Can you visit your parents through facetime or zoom? My parents have been gone for a long while. I’m the parent, and my kids & grandchildren are in Illinois and Maryland. Luckily, we can see each other via facetime. Last year I flew to see my daughter and her children, and our son brought his family to visit us. That doesn’t seem likely this year. DH has health issues that make air travel a painful nightmare and I’m not currently willing to leave him at home while I go see the kids. Plus airfare is too expensive at this point. :ohwell:
Dr Katie: I’d like to learn about your metabolic workouts, too. It looks very challenging.
(((JanetR))): Add me to those praying for little Jaxx. So sorry to hear of the loss of your bnl & sister.
SueBarry1: Congratulations on your good health news! Walking is one of the very best exercises in my opinion.
Heather: I’m sorry that you had nightmares. I hope they are gone for good and you get good rest. :flowerforyou:
(((Kim))) I am hoping that you, your mom and brother do not get Covid19. My daughter tests positive for Covid 19 antibodies. She does not have the disease, itself, and has been told the antibodies are a sign of immunity. She is not sick, has no symptoms, and Is not a danger to others. She hasn’t had any illness so far and I’m praying it stays that way.
Pip: I love the looks of your scooters. They seem like vintage vehicles. Is that true?
I went shopping at the grocery store today and unexpectedly met one of my yoga teachers working at the store in the fresh fish section. It was a delightful surprise. She told me the health club is opening this coming week and she will be teaching yoga on Monday evening. I hope I’ll be able to go. I have missed yoga and my friends at the health club.

@Tina, I'm sorry for what you are going through. I guess slow and steady on the hiking is the way. A running friend said once past 40 you have to stop when feeling pain whereas before 40 you can kind of jog through it. I guess it could be opening up a Pandora's box to find new cousins and half-siblings. it might be more emotional than he can manage.
@Katie I used to have mfp on phone but when changing phones I didn't think to put it. I tried pretracking but I really don't plan specifically so other than breakfast I pretty much change almost all. I'm having a hard time remembering to or getting to or giving constant importance to tracking; I used WW tracking and found it quicker, (I think the site was just faster, and it remembered my food by meal, which was faster for calling them back up.0 -
@Amber, I liked the post quarantine video, ha, ha, for the fake sister on the phone praising him for being messy.1

@Janet I'm so sorry.1

I had to work on the legal thing quite a lot this past week. Had appointment with the lawyer on Thursday afternoon, with masks, sitting a good meter and a half from one another. I had everything in paper copies and scans. He still likes to have paper copies to work with together at the table. It took a long time to weed through and prepare. I was able to get a letter from an expert for our case, and that expert gave me the name and number of another expert who will likely give the same opinion so I have 2 experts. I had to work several days on it. It has an emotional side that wipes me out. Thursday morning I kept working on it and then spoke on phone to 2 colleagues with similar situation. Thurs afternoon scooter to lawyers (about 1 good hourround trip) and good meeting (about 1.5 hours). Then 1/3 way home I realise I left my phone to charge and went back to get it at lawyers and then back home. Had an appointment to pick up tomato plants from neighbour offering them online on neighborhood facebook group. so tired I really didn't want to go (30 min round trip on foot at 7pm), I didn't know her at all, but she was so nice. I had asked for 1 or 2 but she gave me 4 and suggested I give them to some neighbours. Then online follow up meditation thing at 8 (thank goodness only for 1h, I had thought 2), I had signed up for. I was having an allergy attack so I cut video, and there were about 75 of us, so all mute. I watched it in my easy chair. It was good too, but a lot for 1 day.
But Friday I was so tired, I had to send grades in and the way we have to do it is complex, so it took maybe 3h or so, and had to tidy a bit. then wrote to students in another school we are supposed to do makeup exams with. The administrative service is supposed to take care of it, but they are not responding at all. They are very unreliable.
Some schools are using the covid closing of offices to not be clear in communication. if schools don't have good representatives, the direction does whatever they want and it can be pretty bad.
I work in 3 schools and 1 used to be horrible but is now very good. The other 2 are not great at all. Outside covid situation, you can just stop by if they are being evasive, but now one can't go without authorisation. And since they don't answer, you can't get authorization.
Then I zoned out for the rest of the day and evening on Friday. I was so tired, and the legal thing took many days of work but also an emotional toll.
The lawyer says our case looks very good. I thought so, due to the sketchy answer of the adversary, but he confirmed it and also dug up some high level (highest court) jurisprudence, in our favour apparently. He said it was a good session. He had a few questions asking for further questions or explanations and I had plenty of documentation and answers.
I have to do some follow up, scan send, request a document, and file, but am taking a break till Monday.
I still need to work on rental apartment so maybe this weekend.
I believe I made the right choice to work on legal case.
It's just not fulfilling on a day to day basis to work on legal stuff.
Oh there are 2 wood pigeons on my balcony again!3 -
Kim - I'm glad you managed to write out your frustration and sadness. Living alone is for the strong. You are amazing. Soon things and people will be more touchable. Lots of love and a warm (((HUG)))
This doesn't affect me personally, but when it's TV personality you always feel you know them and it's so sad.A well known Britush TV presenter, Kate Garraway, has been sharing her husband's Covid illness with her followers. He has been in an induced coma for many weeks and he is not coming out of it. An MRI is showing horrible damage to all his body and , I expect, brain. They seem to have been a happy family, with young children. I don't know her, but I have been following the story. There is an article in the Sun recently. It touches me. The worst kind of living hell.
The sun is shining. I am grateful for everything.
