Oh Rita! If ever anyone comes along to use that for, I’ll keep it in mind. Those flower photos are spectacular! My friends say that when the desert blooms it’s gorgeous. I gather this is not the same as the spring bloom after some rain?

You have to search for flowers now. Too dry so I was lucky to find the ones I did!

Mir geht's gut, Katla. Aber Deutsch ist sehr schwierig.
DH is preparing new quizzes for Max and Edie. Max's is on Atoms and Edie's is on Human Evolution. I am the fact checker for Edie's one and a proof reader for Max's. They are still loving the quizzes and ask for more.

... UPDATE ON BOOTZ
I took her there at around 9am. while I was still there, she ended up passing. I am glad I was there. I brought her back home and waited til Kirby got home and we buried her in the back yard with Moe.
and there seems to be an overwhelming vote for short. I went to the local salon and took my gray out and will probably end up cutting it off again before we leave10 -
Katla, oh sweet, now I shall have a friend I can moan about my cleaning woes too .💖. Last night as I was walking upstairs contemplating all I have to do, I thought about all he small places I have lived, and here I am in this 2980 sq ft place. So today I will clean with a grateful heart. Appreciating the haves I have, and wear my apron all day long.😁
Yesterday was interesting as I had to get rid of a steel frame, and pallet my son's new scooter came in, when it was transported from China to Florida to Whidbey. I had told him I would list it on some virtual yard sale sites for free. I had a nibble but then she passed on it, then a nice gal and husband came by to pick up the frame. She saw my son's ramen shop stickers on his van in the driveway, so we chatted about Japan for awhile. She is Asian, and we decided when we're able, a trip to the ramen restaurant is necessary!😁. I think we were both starving for communication because we just blabbed on and on like old friends, (I know I was). I unfortunately deleted her Messenger post when she said they were on their way so I guess I post an embarrassing post on the site saying "you took the steel frame and I need to add you as a Facebook friend, we live just down the street from each other"! She might be a good walking around the neighborhood friend. Plus she can teach me Japanese. I am rusty.
A guy came and took the pallet an hour later.👍. I told son to take apart the cardboard to fit it in recycling. He thanked me for getting rid of his packing items.
Dinner was reheating the roast, carrots and potatoes I had fixed the day before.👍. I made some more gravy though. Never enough gravy, as my husband utilizes every area on his plate on roast meals, for gravy. I am a drizzler. I am not a fan of potatoes and meat slices in an ocean of gravy like him! My son needs to have some separation of items on his plate. I notice when he eats, he will eat all of one item before he moves on to the next. All the peas, then the rice, then the chicken for example, crazy kid! I am smoosher. I will put some peas in my fork, then some rice and if there is gravy I will pass it thru that before eating. I love combination flavors. Most of the time I will eat my meals in my ramen bowl, so the flavors are forced to mingle. It always gets an eye roll from husband. I also like to use leftovers strangely. If we ever have macaroni and cheese leftovers I tend to make soup! Mac and cheese in pot, some ice cubes of chicken stock in there, then some leftover roasted chicken, maybe some diced tomatoes. The cheese sauce kinda comes off the Mac and cheese, so it flavors the soup nicely! I am strange I know! (but that's way ya love me, admit it).
Seize the day y'all!

a wee bit of ranting:
Praying for my Portland Oregon. Seems Kate Brown is more concerned about how she looks than how the city is doing with nightly protests. What on day 77 of rioting? My dear city is being ruined. A statue of our stately elk was set ablaze, but now safely stored. What was offensive about that stately elk? 😢😢

Morning, afternoon and evening all...
Loving the pics!
Busy Sunday morning, got on the elliptical at 7, then the rower, then got all the garden and flowers watered, and a few beds weeded, and then walked the property nearest the house with Corey, talking about what it would take for us to be able to get a dog (put up one stretch of fence in the backyard). Corey won't tolerate one in the house, but likes having an outside dog. We also talked of planting pear trees down what is now part of the front yard once the front fence is up. He fixed brunch for us both and when I got out of the shower, he had already hung the sheets out on the clothesline. He just finished bottling his last batch of beer and is out working on a furniture piece now, and I'm staying in the house where it's cool. Love working with him to accomplish things, it's a good partnership.
Non-scale victory (literally), I finally put the scale away today. I felt myself letting that stupid number start to affect my mood this morning, as it had gone up from the day before. It had got to the point where, every morning before exercise and after, I was getting on that scale, to see how many pounds and tenths of a pound I had sweated off.
I'm aware that I can get obsessed very easily about things involving numbers, but don't always recognize I'm doing it until it gets to the point where it's not good for me. It's time, finally. I'm no longer afraid that I will run amok food-wise, and it's time to let go of what has, for me, become unhealthy. I will pull it out the last day of each month to help me know whether I'm continuing in the right direction so I can course correct if I need to. Unless that gets to be unhealthy, and if it does, I'll pitch the thing in the trash.
Happy Sunday, y'all, past, present or future,

For those interested in chocolate mint, I found it advertised on-line by Burpee and Target as well as Etsy. The photo on line, second from the left on the top row, looks like the plants that I have. It has a banner that says Chocolate mint.

I’ll headline this US Politics. Perhaps there are those who don’t want to read it.
Rebecca: I take Governor Kate Brown’s side on this one. There was unrest in Portland and Donald Trump decided to “take care of it." He sent in US troops who shot an unarmed African American citizen. I do not know the extent of the man’s injuries. Mr. President needs to read the US Constitution. There are State’s rights, and this was a huge violation. Governor Brown did NOT request his help.
Powers Reserved to the States:
Establish and maintain Schools
Establish local Governments
Set Corporate Laws
Make marriage laws
Provide for the public safety
President Trump defied the US Constitution and an unarmed African American citizen of Oregon who was lawfully protesting was maimed by federal troops.

Poor Bootz just wanted you guys and no one else...
I havent slept and will stay awake and just go to bed early... my son in law and brother went over and picked up the grill i got them. He loves it.
So glad they deserve something nice..5 -
Pip - glad Bootz had a good end.
SuziQ - just watched Three Billboards. I did wait until I was in the mood and DH was watching soccer in the other room. I am not in favour of revenge, so I was preparing myself to watch it. I only watched it because I have a crush on Frances Mcdormand. But it is a well made film. If I am a bit dubious I always read the Wikipedia summary. I don't like surprises. If I am forewarned I can cope with a difficult script.
When I was young my mother used to forewarn me if there was an upsetting plot. I was very grateful. As an adult, I hated being surprised by films where the hero died unexpectedly. If I know, I am usually ok. I have been horribly surprised a couple of times. Now I always read the summary on Wikipedia. My worst was the ending to Braveheart and Saving Private Ryan. Still seared in my heart.
My grandparents used to say I was 'highly strung'.
Anyway, it was a good film.

Happy National Ice Cream Day!
I never met an ice cream I didn't like! "The forerunners of ice cream were flavored snow and ice. Marco Polo later brought a recipe that resembled sherbet back to Italy, which developed into ice cream there sometime during the sixteenth century. ... The first record of ice cream in what would become America dates to 1744 and the first advertisement for ice cream in the country dates to 1777. George Washington enjoyed ice cream, and a record from a merchant shows he spent $200 on ice cream during the summer of 1790. Ice cream pots were also later found at Mount Vernon. Ice cream continued to be a treat of the elite until around 1800 when changes in technology helped expand ice cream popularity and production."
dlfk202000 - My dad co-owned a vacation cabin in the Hill Country with his brother, and my uncle had a TV in every single room except the bathroom. He'd probably have put one there too if the bathroom were bigger. He'd drive all the way to Wimberley from New Orleans and then spend his vacation sitting in the garage watching TV. Different strokes, I guess!
Sharon - Cute story about your husband. Did he prefer "that little blue thing" or "the one with the thorns"?
Beth - My diet has been a train wreck lately too. I'm tired of working and worrying about finances and being stuck in the house, and I'm lonely and kind of cranky lately. I think we just have to give ourselves permission to start moving again with baby steps.
Machka - Your aspic photo gave me a flashback to many a church potluck in the 60s. Once someone brought a jellied pink thing with canned tuna in it. I think I'm still traumatized!
Michelle - I'm with you, I think December is probably a little too optimistic to hope for a vaccine. I'd love to be proven wrong!
barbiecat - I love the Maya Angelou quote about complaining. Thank you for sharing it.
Della Faye - The haircuts are ALL great! You really rock the short 'do.
I've been sympathizing with everyone's housecleaning woes. I don't enjoy it and Philip doesn't really pull his weight in that department. Would love to have some help, but since his career change we can't afford to hire someone in. What I'd really like to do is sell nearly everything and move to a much smaller place, but realistically we'll probably be here for at least a couple more years. So in the meantime I've started working through one room at a time and trying to declutter. I'm past the point of trying to sell stuff and just want it out of the house! Once we can have people over again, I'd love to not be ashamed of my house.
Hope everyone had a fine weekend.

PIP Nice natural color! I have been gray for 30 years.
RITA Very familiar looking scenery.
SARAH That is everybody's pick so far. Maybe I should learn to love it.
REBECCA I agree and I live close to this mess and it has my cancer genetic specialist'
completely shut down. I am now 6 months overdue for all the tests they need to do this year.
The rioters had no grievance with the elk statue, the businesses, etc. They are destroying
any and everything they can. I for one am glad the Feds stepped in. Insanity!!! Many friends
have had their businesses destroyed and will remain closed permanently. Breaks my heart!!

We have a cleaner for two hours, once every two weeks. That is enough for us. I don't do much, if at all , in between. So it works out as £13 per week! More than worth it! I cover laundry and cooking, DH does washing up and kitchen tidying. Plus a bit of shopping and fruit prep. We don't have pets, so we are tidy and fairly clean. I am OCD about object placement, so everything has to be its rightful spot. Not a millimetre out. I do have areas, like the utility room which are a bit of a mess and we still haven't got round to sorting out the book dump that is DH'S study. Out of sight, out of mind for me.
I mostly employ the cleaner so DH and I don't argue over it. I refuse to clean up other people's mess or do more than my share. We have a good balance.
When I was a teenager I was in a stage play called 'Look Back In Anger'. I played the put upon housewife who ironed her husband's shirts. From that point on I swore I would never do that and I kept to it.
I pay my cleaner a decent wage and I hope she feels ok with that. I do not want to exploit people.

Yvonne ... you said "My diet has been a train wreck lately too. I'm tired of working and worrying about finances and being stuck in the house, and I'm lonely and kind of cranky lately. I think we just have to give ourselves permission to start moving again with baby steps." I absolutely agree!
Pip ... your natural color is lovely!
Karen VA ... I was reading your supplement/vitamin recommendations ... read where you said and a multivitamin when I remember to take it and realized I hadn't taken mine! Thanks for the reminder!
Lisa ... I usually weigh every day and have this bizarre little dance I do to make certain the scale is "accurate." I need to stop. The scale and the number it displays does not define who I am. Bravo to you for putting the scale away! I'm inspired to do the same.
Today it was very hot and then thunderstorms rolled through. Now it's wet and warm. Working at curtailing my snacking and just focusing on preparing and eating a nutritious main meal. I'm doing so-so on that ...

I miss having our cleaner’s help but we came to an impass over face masks. I offered to get her one and she declined. DH has health issues & having a cleaner from out if state who won’t wear a face mask put an end to her help. We’re on our own for now. 🙁3

Oh yes - I didn't even mention that. Because it's electronic, I have to get two readings that are the same. But, if it's quite similar, it often won't show the change--and I can tell because it blinks ten times if it's reading a clean reading, and three times if it's just putting up there what is already in its buffer. So I put one foot on it without the rest of me to make sure it clears its buffer from my previous weight. Then I weigh my entire self again. Always different, sometimes lower (yay!) sometimes higher (boo!) and then I do the same again--force it to clear its buffer and then try one more time. Once I have two that are the same, I can quit.
And THAT is another reason why this had to stop. There lies madness--in every sense of the word. A whopping 44 years later, I've finally figured out that it's not a good thing.
I'm slow.
Love,

Welcome new ladies
Pip- IF someone were to ask me to name someone who looks smart, classy, mischievous, energetic, vibrant with short hair- YOU are the person I that would come to mind first! You look beautiful with longer hair as well, but my vote would have to be for short hair.
Margaret- Drew just sounds like a wonderful addition to your family! So glad everything is working out!
Cheri and KarenVA-I am following your discussion on CBD oils. Now that I am going group, I am hoping to be able to buy something for Tim to try. I went to the website to read some reviews and am a little peeved that none of the reviewers state what their health problem is. Karen, do you know where I might find some reviews on the product from people with advanced RA or other chronic pain/auto immune diseases?
Machka- I am so happy to hear that you are getting certain "smells". lol Sorry that some of them seem so intense. Hopefully that will calm as your nose gets used to being able to smell things again. I remember when my daughter had surgeries on her ears, (she had a 60% hearing loss as a kid); when her hearing was restored, everything scared her. Even the "quiet" sound of running water or fans seemed loud to her.
Today is my first day of vacation and I woke up this morning extremely dizzy. Lying in bed, opened my eyes and the room was spinning. I closed my eyes and it stopped. So I sat up and almost fell over and promptly felt nauseous. Stood, held the walls and made my way to the bathroom and was sick. I was dripping with sweat. The dizziness lasted another couple of hours (as did the throwing up). Tim was pacing around me, like a nervous cat, wanting to do something. I had him put a pillow and blanket on the couch, bin beside me (just in case) and I went back to sleep for another six hours. I just woke up about an hour ago, a little lightheaded and slightly dizzy, but nothing like before. So far I have had some crackers and a bit of coffee. Hopefully that is the end of this "bug". Not the way I planned to spend my day, but sometimes it takes "forced action" to make me do nothing.
Oh well, tomorrow is another day! love and hugs to you all! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)
Kelly- hope you are feeling better- that sounds terrible

Did a low impact cardio leg blast DVD today. The plan for tomorrow is to do a body pump uTube video.
Went to Food Lion and got the ingredients for beef stroganoff in case Ken and Lynette decide to have dinner here. Browned the meat but if they don’t have dinner here I’ll just freeze it and make it for Jess and Vince when she gets home. Made some meringues for me and found out the cookie press doesn’t work as well as the Pampered Chef decorator I have so I’ll make another batch. Made more chocolate Rice Krispie bars for Vince since he won’t eat the meringues and what if Ken & Lynette decide to have just them? I don’t know that I have enough. Also made more chocolate bran muffins.
Lynette – we have a WHY trap (this is for wasps, hornets and yellowjackets). So far, it’s worked quite well. I read someone suggested lunchmeat but I didn’t use any since I am afraid that the meat would dry out especially in our hot sun
Sharon – I didn’t know that some wasps aren’t attracted to sweets! Maybe I will put some of the meat I just browned up in the trap. I’ll go in the pool and take the meat out when I get out of the pool. Thanks for telling me! I put the grease in a jar since we have a septic and when the jar is full I just throw it out. Maybe instead of the meat I’ll just use the grease.
Picked up two masks for Denise. They have whales on them. Actually, it’s a fundraiser for the soup kitchen but I thought she might like the whales. Don’t know what kind of mask she has
Faye – I like the Wuhan best
Katla – my neighbor made 2 masks for me. It was a fundraiser for the soup kitchen. Then Jess took two masks from work for us. Truthfully, I’d rather the ones the lady made me. I can just pop it on when I go into a store and pop it off the second I get out of the store (did I tell you how much I hate wearing a mask?)
Pip – love the haircolor. Makes you look so young
@ day”. Lynette and Ken are coming over and I’m making the beef stroganoff. Not that *I* really like it. If there’s leftovers (and there probably will be), I’ll give some to Lynette to take home and save some for Vince’s dinner tomorrow.

Hi Gals,
Pip – I am so sorry ((((((((((((hugs)))))
Great pictures everyone
So yesterday I attended my first Zoom Funeral, it was uncomfortable…everyone in little squares looking at each other, some had never used zoom before I don’t think, one guy was using the picture to floss. The pastor was a well spoken man, but he referred to the death date as our “use by date” and kept reminding us that each of us had one and that it was closer each day.
