Nice job! I’m scared to do my own and the 3 times my DH did it for me it came out awful! So let it grow until I can get to a hairdressers.
Finally caught up! DH is making keto stuffed peppers for lunch! Yummy!!

I asked my husband to trim my hair ONE time- told him to just take an inch or so off the bottom- measured it when he was done- close to 5" off. never ever letting him touch my hair again.

Barbie: Nice haircut! You look wonderful.
SueBDew: I am so glad you have a good doctor and good advice. Staying active and enjoying each day is the best advice I’ve seen anywhere. :flowerforyou:
Pip: I’m happy that you’re having a good time in your new community.
Karen in VA: I am so happy that your location was not damaged during the storm. Sending good thoughts to your friend, Shona.
Heather: My grandmother was an immigrant from what is now part of Austria. She immigrated as a child with her family to Kansas where they had relatives who sponsored them. The sourdough art bread loaves are gorgeous. I haven’t made a sourdough loaf in too long. DH can't eat wheat. :ohwell:
Deliafayefox: Your hair cut is lovely!
Rita: I’ve been cutting the hair around my face and letting the rest grow. My last real haircut was in mid-December, before Covid invaded our world. I haven’t gone to the hairdresser since then due to virus worries. :ohwell:

Debbie This is with a mousse to help straighten it and then hairspray to hold it. Without help, it waves and curls crazy. I had to use product and let it dry to cut it otherwise it would have looked like I survived a wild dog attack.

dellafayefox wrote: »M in Oz Well it is an easy fix compared to other causes of inner ear problems, but as in your case balancing hormones can be difficult. There is no doubt other factors and finding these factors is difficult and expensive and then treating the other factors can present problems. In general vertigo from hormone imbalance can be treated at a higher rate of success than other disorders causing vertigo. BPPV is probably the easiest using the maneuver. For example, a viral cause damaging the inner ear is very hard to control and treat as opposed to hormone imbalance. I didn't mean to downplay hormone caused vertigo because many times it is just a trigger for an underlying cause like endolymphatic Hydops and treating Hydrops can become very involved. I hope I didn't offend you and I should have said: "sometimes an easy fix if no other underlying conditions." VEDA used to have a page written by a Nurse Practioner that was an expert on hormone triggered vertigo. I saw her many times and I think she had a falling out with an expert, a guy, that claimed that hormones had little to no effect on causing vertigo and wrote it all off as Meniere's Disease with little hope just lower sodium and take a valium. I know for a fact that menopause attacks did trigger my Endolymphatic Hydrops and eventually controlling the hydrops took care of the problem I still had the hot flashes and felt like I was burning alive, but no vertigo from it. Have you ever been tested for Endolymphatic Hydrops? Originally doctors said my hot flash vertigo was from MS, but once the MS diagnosis was overturned I was sent to Northwest Neuro-otologist and the rest is history.

The "easy fix" would likely be HRT, but unfortunately I have a genetic predisposition to developing clots and have had a bad DVT so HRT would greatly increase my chances of dying. All my Drs have strongly advised not using HRT, not even the oestrogen creams.
I am on a serotonin-based anti-depressant which helps a bit ... otherwise I just have to ride it out.

Yvonxx - first off, welcome! Like you, I am terribly inflexible. I always say that I’m the most inflexible person this side of the Atlantic. I have found that I like doing exercise DVD’s. For one thing, I’m not doing the same thing over and over. Personally, I get bored….lol

I'm going to try posting again and see if I can find this site in the future to be involved. We'll see - I'm really bad with computers/technology. Anyway -- I have tried wt loss in the past and this time around I'm finding that 2 things are helping. 1) a partner - hubby is finally doing this with me and it helps that all his delicious but high cal high carb cooking and baking is no longer staring me in the face. 2) Restarting an exercise I love enough to keep it up. Have failed to maintain any other exercise plan, so I restarted ballet classes. Yeah, I'm a chubby ole 68 yr old grandma...but as long as I enjoy the activity I'm throwing out pride and going with it!8

Another long day, I don’t know how u shopaholics love to do this, it is awful! Got 2 nightstands at Wayfair, crap stuff is expensive or I am cheap!!7

Day one done. Had to "add" calories to close. Added zucchini to my parmesan chicken for more veggies. I used diced grilled chicken instead of a fried patty. Noodles are veggie noodles with whole wheat. It was yummy. Lunch was low sodium tuna, tomato, and cucumber with a small bit of mayo. I even walked the driveway for 30 mins. Now to keep it up!
You all are my inspiration! I want to be the crazy lady in her 80s still participating in life!
Hugs!
High fives!
Love!

Faye - I love the smell of wood shavings too. Also, chain saw oil.
I grew up on about 400 acres of forestland in a 100 year old farmhouse that only had wood heat. My Dad and most of my family are carpenters. My Grandfather, Dad and 3 uncles built one of the McCain of McCain foods, brothers houses. Wood and I are great friends.
Barbara - I also have poor posture, it’s from trying to hide them. The nipple thing doesn’t bother me. I had a lump removed in my very early 20’s and that’s how they did it so I didn’t have scarring. My husband even forgets about it because the scars are well hidden.
Allie - Sorry your area got hit. You and your family are safe?
Carol - I’ve wondered about Michele cooking so much ahead of time too. I couldn’t do it, but I bet I would save calories and money by doing so.
I have a lot of vintage jewelry that was my Grandmother’s. I want to make a picture with it for my girls I just keep putting it off because it means I have to tear the jewelry apart.
This reminded me of a funny little story: my grandmother gave me an opal and pearl ring, that was her Aunt’s, when I was still a teenager. I wore it all the time and lost one of the little tiny pearls (about a straight pin head size) I took it to a jeweller to see about fixing it but the cost was too much to get a pearl that was antique enough to match. I decided that I would have earrings and a pendant made out of the stones and would melt the gold into a teardrop pendant. I told my Grandmother my idea and she thought it was a lovely thought and gave me some more gold jewelry to go with it to make my teardrop more substantial. As she was giving me the jewelry she told me where it all came from, who owned it and how she came to have it. So I currently have my Great grandmother’s wedding ring, a couple military rings that belonged to my Grandfather, my Grandmothers original diamond setting and I can’t bring myself to do anything with any of it. Maybe I should take a picture of it all and then get my teardrop made.
Sue - my grandfather retired with 3 other men, the other 3 all passed away within the first year. My Grandfather swore it’s because they didn’t do anything, they had no hobbies or anything to keep them going. I was a teen and this has always stuck with me. My Grandfather lived probably 15 years after retiring. He developed Parkinson’s a couple years before he died.
Pip - I don’t like shopping either, like you everything seems too expensive or I’m cheap. I think it’s too expensive personally.
I have had a pretty great evening. Our daughter that just bought her first house is busy decorating. She is putting pictures on one wall of both her and her husband’s grandparents. I have to dig out a wedding picture of my parents. My husband’s parents were married in May 1965, 5 months after he was born. I always thought they were married at City hall but found out tonight they were married in a church. They didn’t have a photographer though so no photos. I asked my MIL if there were any pictures of them as a couple when they were young and she told me to call my SIL because she had all of her albums. Called my SIL and she had found a picture she didn’t know existed just last week and it is their parents with my husband. We now have a copy of it. My daughter is happy to have all of her Grandparents accounted for.

M in Oz: I hope you feel better day by day. I’m happy that you have aa effective antidepressant to help you heal.
(((Margaret)))
Rori: It is so good to see your smiling face!
Pip: I hope your shopping yields some genuine treasures that you will enjoy along with a little bit of "crap stuff" to fill in until you find something you really like. :ohwell:
Allie: You made an excellent choice when you bought your place and it is paying off with comfort and safety now. Enjoy your time with Taliah & Homer.
Tracy: Congratulations to your daughter for buying her first house. I hope she has fun decorating and creates many happy memories there.
I spent some time picking blueberries today, and watching people moving up and down the river in their boats. We ordered take out from a Thai restaurant a few blocks from our house. The food was a nice change for us. We’ve been doing all of our own cooking for months.

Kylia “Why is it human nature that when someone says NO you shouldn't eat that, that you crave just that!” Happened to me today when I picked up my first Atorvastatin rx, and the pharmacist said “hope you don’t have a craving for grapefruit juice.” Pow, instant urge for pink grapefruit juice, ice cold, in quantity, red grapefruit sections, etc, etc, etc.
Heather  arugula, the seafood cornucopia not so much If Joe ate that much cabbage I’d have to call a halt for sure!

After T’ai Chi went to DDS for cleaning. Wouldn’t you know it he found a cavity on my bridge’s anchor tooth. He’ll try to fix at appointment in September but was hinting that we might have to take the bridge off and replace it, with no estimate of $$$. After picking up the doctor recommended psyllium caps got home and just crashed. No energy to play with dogs, clean, food prep or eat. Slept 3 hours. Got up and made dip for Sunday, prepped Joe’s fruit and veggies, cooked up some left over chicken and ate it with the last of the coleslaw. Now I’m yawning again and am headed BACK to bed.
Lighter, lovelies!

Sorry to hear of those suffering physically and mentally because of suffering loved ones. We are all linked. Thinking of Margaret, Barbara, Karen, Rori, Sue, and I know I've missed important people. Sorry.
DH has woken up early for the last couple of days with his recurrent anxiety. Not severe, but enough to keep him reading, not sleeping. This morning I was in the bed, so I noticed him and that stopped me sleeping on. Plus my leg was aching for no reason. (The air is very heavy and humid, so that's probably the reason.) He is fine in the day and actually took the car out for a constitutional in the afternoon, but he says he feels a bit 'dazed' in the early mornings.
I'm going to test fir the BBPV again, but I won't do anything unless it's obvious. I've gently suggested he might try cutting down on sugar and alcohol. His diet is impeccable normally, but he has got into the habit of a regular 4 units Pernod a night, plus some comforting toffees late on. He's always had the toffees, but the regular alcohol is since the virus. I am currently having four days AF and actually prefer them. I hope he will make the effort to cut back on that evening hit of sugar and see if it helps.
Don't like this heavy weather. Tomorrow is scheduled record temperatures. I will be indoors with the blinds drawn.
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx
