8/17 156.2 OMG. I worked my butt off this weekend. Hiked a tough 7 miles and rode a ton. Why am I up so much? I ate quite a bit, but I didn't gorge... I know I'm retaining water. I've noticed anytime I have a really tough workout day or weekend, I'm unusually up for a day or two before it comes back off. But I'm not counting on that and I've been on a slow creep up. Tracking today.
8/18 155 I adjusted my goal to lose 1lb a week and I can tell I have been eating too much, because yesterday felt very... light food wise. I like eating more. I need to find a way to enjoy the much lighter sustainable amount for the long term, not just while I'm in a loss or I'm going to yo-yo these 10 lbs forever. Ran this morning. I'll ride this afternoon.
8/19 153.2 Good. Sure it'll still bounce around. Ran this morning. I'll try to get a ride in, but I have a busy day.
8/20 155 Not unexpected. I ate Mexican out last night and ate too much, but got a good run in and a good 4 mile hike. No riding yesterday.6 -

Round 123
Month/Day: Weight / Comment
08/15: 207.4
08/16: 207.8 / The last couple days are pop-ups from the last day of last round. I can’t imagine why. :-p What is so bad about two days in a row with big messy cheese burgers for lunch. Friday’s was at a high-end gourmet restaurant for a work meeting. Saturday’s was at a local yocal dive after a morning of fishing with a friend. Both were delicious. Then last night, dinner out with some friends. I guess I should be happy I am only this heavy.
Glad to be back at it again this round.
08/17: 207.2 / I would call this a victory. For the weekend, not bad.
08/18: 207.8 / Anniversary today! 41 years with DW! For some of you, yes that means I am old enough to be your father. But, not too old to keep learning. Dinner out today will probably make some waves tomorrow on the ten-day chart.
BTW, with four days in a row with an identical third digit (7) I feel out of place. I jump around so much this never happens. Strangely, my last two ten-day averages have that same digit.
08/19: 206.6 / Ok, I like this “wave.” We went out for lunch yesterday instead of out for the evening meal. Made a good choice or two. Had a short bike ride to pick up our CSA (we have one too @kblanc14 !) and a walk around the block at dusk.
08/20: 205.4 / It’s low tide. High tide is coming, but maybe not as high. I am trying to get low tide lower and high tide lower.

Round 123 SW: 182.5 (on 8/14/20)
08/15 – 183.0 – My husband and I had a day off from our food tracking and got take-out lunch. The rest of the day we weren’t very hungry, so half a pound doesn’t seem too bad.
08/16 – 183.0 – Staying stable. It looks like 183 is my current weight “speed bump.” I just need to be diligent to be able to make it over the speed bump and back down.
08/17 – 182.7 – Trying to be gentler on myself and make sure I’m not treating this as a race to the finish line. Consistent, reasonable effort is all that in needed.
08/18 – 181.9 – I have a huge work project keeping me at my desk more this week, so there is less exercise, but I’m still be diligent about logging my food.
08/19 - 181.1 – Looks like a gentler approach is helping this week. Just letting my body guide the way
08/20 – 181.5 – A little bump, but I’m still feeling really positive about this Round!

08/15 DNW. Camping this weekend. I haven't done a horrible job but I've definitely had a few things I wouldn't normally while trying to lose weight. It's ok, lake calories dont count 😁
08/16 198.8 That's ok! I knew it would go up a little, I'm just happy I'm still in Onederland. Back at it today. Happy sunday!
08/17 197.8 Down a little I got a compliment yesterday about losing weight. I'm going to use that as fuel to keep going! Happy Monday, hope you all have a great week!
08/18 196.6 Today is my sons birthday! We always let them pick what they would like for dinner on their birthdays and he chose my favorite barbeque restaurant. I plan to make good choices, but it's going to be hard!
08/19 196.2 I was able to stay under my calorie goal yesterday. I didn't get in enough water so my goal today is make sure I do. I have a long drive this morning, so I see many pit stops in my future 😄 Happy hump day!

8/15 - 182.8 - 1702 ☹️ - night time popcorn and ice cream ☹️
How did I get into this nighttime snacking habit? Aaaack! My ideal this round is no snacks after dinner; my primary goal is, if I must snack, make it one serving of air-popped popcorn. That would still cut calories and I can work on the popcorn monster later. One habit at a time, right?
8/16 - 184 🤯- 1944 😡
WTH is wrong with me? I had a big lunch, reasonable dinner, and still snacked last night. I wasn’t hungry, just wanted the cozy comfort. My calories have been above my goal for 5 days. Just pitiful. Well, I’m boiling eggs for salmon-egg-guacamole salad for lunch, and I’m going to ask DH to ask me “do you really want that?” if/when I head for the kitchen. Maybe I need one of those oink oink piggies on the fridge and cupboard doors! I really am disappointed in myself. I think it’s partly the stress of our crazy times, but gaining back weight I worked hard to lose doesn’t help. I don’t need hugs, I need a kick in the pants!
8/17 - 183 😐 - 1641 😐 - snack 🍿+ whole-grain English muffin & almond butter
I did a little better yesterday. I did spend calories digging turf out of hard clay, and was hungry last night, but stuck to air-popped popcorn and muffin/almond butter, so healthy snacks and no ice cream. I’m aiming for just popcorn. Calories were only slightly over my goal for the round, so that’s an improvement. More garden labor today! Have a great Monday, my friends!
8/18 - 182.6 🙂 - 1306 😁 - snack 🍿+ 1/2 oz aged Havarti
Better!
8/19 - 182.2 🙂 - 1246 😁 - snack 🍿
We are having a string of gorgeous days here. I’m expanding more garden beds and replacing some of the few introduced plant species I have with natives. Very satisfying! Lots of wildlife! And it keeps my mind off food for myself. 🦋🐝🐞
8/20 - 182.8 😐 - 1769 ☹️ - snack 🍿+ Smirnoff strawberry kiwi
A little over goal, and I didn’t actually need the beverage, but.... All good, a light menu planned today. Off for a walk!

Previous days08/15 DNW, came back from vacation today.
08/16 116.4 I’ll take it considering before vacation I was holding water from TOM and weighing in at 116.8. Food during vacation was pretty solid and I wasn’t too indulgent, but I also didn’t say no to anything. We ate out twice by the end of it, which wasn’t too bad. I feel good and got in a spin bike workout for the day! Have a good Sunday everyone!
08/17 116.4 It’s been a whirlwind of a day playing catch up at work after being gone for a week! Food was solid yesterday and today has been on point as well. We did a good soccer workout this morning and planning to go for a walk tomorrow morning! My brain is a little mushy at this point in the day and all I can think to say is that it’s CSA day today and I’m excited for that in a couple hours! Have a good night everyone!
08/18 116.2 We went for a really good 6ish mile walk this morning. I’m on my own tomorrow for my higher intensity workout, so I’m planning a yard workout incorporating jump rope, burpees, some soccer drills, body weight exercises like push-ups and lunges, mountain climbers and all sorts of fun stuff.
The CSA pick up was full of greens last night along with a zucchini, a pepper, heirloom cherry tomatoes, and purple radishes. Then for fruit we got a dozen donut peaches, two watermelon, a cantaloupe, and honeydew. I felt like I hit the jackpot for fruit!
Dinner was a little salty last night because I made a Thai style greens recipe which had a bunch of stems chopped up small from swiss chard, spigariello, Ethiopian kale, and one other green’s stems I think. Then, I added shredded collard greens. The sauce used coconut oil, coconut milk, fish sauce, ginger, garlic, chilies, lime juice and I added some tamari because I didn’t want to use as much fish sauce as the recipe called for. I thought it came out pretty good, my husband tolerated it lol (he doesn’t care for cooked greens) so he ate 25% of it and I ate the other 75% of it. For protein I scrambled some hamburger and we topped it with siracha. I think we’re having roasted chicken for dinner tonight with potatoes and beets!
08/19 115.2 Started my day with a HIIT/soccer style workout and torched at least 400ish calories. Last night’s dinner was grilled chicken leg quarters with roasted beets and sweet potatoes. Yumm! Today’s breakfast will be a large amount of honeydew melon, cantaloupe, maybe a peach, and the last granola bar (calorie dense bar I made for hiking coming in at 400 kcals) that I made for our trip last week. My snack will be oatmeal with peaches and dinner will be mushroom and spinach ravioli with salad and heirloom cherry tomatoes.
Enjoy your day!
08/20 115.6 Went for a 6ish mile walk this morning. Realized that my hips are really tight from my workout yesterday and need to stretch later today. We ended up getting Chipotle takeout for dinner last night but I was a lot more conscious of what I ordered last night and didn’t completely decimate myself with sodium. I also trimmed off about 200 calories by planning it out with their nutrition calculator. I clocked in at like 700ish calories instead of the 900-1,000 calorie bowl I got last time. So I consider that a bit of a win for me. I’m not sure what is on the agenda tonight for dinner but I’m looking forward to having yogurt, fruit, and granola for breakfast! It’s so crazy that after a week or so of not having yogurt, I was actually craving it. Luckily we got a food order this morning, so I have some waiting for me in the fridge now 😊.

@musicsax Thank you! It definitely made the last couple of months stressful. At the end of the day I still got to marry the love of my life. So that is what I am taking from it. Hopefully, I will get to redo it next year.
I guess I am like@Hilogirl2018and many others on here. I was down to 138 my goal weight in March and I fit into my amazing wedding dress (size 6) that I was going to wear on 8/8/20 to marry the love of my life after 6-1/2 years of waiting with around 200 guests. Then the pandemic hit! We downsized and changed venues over and over to accommodate everything that kept changing. We went from 210 people to 100, then to 80, then to 40, then they shut everything down in my state and our minister said now or never and you can only have your children present. So on 7/25/20 in a $30.00 dress off of amazon in my backyard I got married! Maybe next year we can redo it, but nothing was going to stop us from saying I do, not even this stupid pandemic! I am now 23 pounds heavier than I was 5 months ago and am very uncomfortable in my clothes. It is time to get back on track and start taking care of myself again. The stress from the wedding and the everything else going on in the world was an excuse for me to eat. Not anymore. I missed the first couple of days, but if I put it off then it's just an excuse for me to continue down the wrong path. So here we go!
8/18 - 166.1 ouch! This one hurt, I'm not going to lie
8/19 - 164.9 This one is a little better. I was not great yesterday, but I was better. I am on track for today, so far. So, we will see what happens.
8/20 – 166.1 expected. I did better on food yesterday and stuck to the plan but drank last night when I got home. I am giving myself this round just to get back into the habit of weighing, being accountable, and making better choices. Next round I am kicking it back into high gear and hopefully start losing again.

8/17 197.8 started the day strong with a good workout. Still had a lot of salt yesterday, and too many sweets, but weekdays are better for me to control anyway.
8/18 198.2 meh. Yesterday was so so. Above my calorie goal, extra sodium that's making me puffy. Need to drink more water today.
8/19 198.2 I drank a bit more water yesterday, which was great. I'm aimimg for 2 days of activity followed by 1 rest day, so yesterday was off. That said, I wish I got more steps in. Will be making today a great day!
8/20 197.9 good workout yesterday, got some additional activity in after dinner with the kids outside. Good day overall.

8/15: 229.2 (+0.8)/19.5 (+0.1). My other brother-in-law and his wife came over last night. I had 0 drinks, and no dessert, but my meal was probably a bit "heavy" for what I'm currently used to. I don't think I'm having any other visitors this weekend, so I'm hoping this weekend will be a good one for weight loss/fitness. It's REALLY hot, though. I'm a little worried that California's rolling blackouts might disrupt the flow of my day.
8/16: 228.2 (-1.0)/19.4 (-0.1). It's REALLY hot right now. I didn't do anything yesterday, but I stayed within plan. I keep waking up early, and I'm having trouble getting back to sleep. I think it has something to do with my wife liking the temperature higher than I do. I'm super-sensitive in my old age; I really like the temperature to be no higher than 76-78 degrees, where my wife would prefer things in the mid-eighties.
8/17: 228.0 (-0.2)/19.4 (0.0). I snacked a bit in the evening, but stayed pretty well within my plan. For the first time in a LONG time, I got to Monday with NO WEEKEND BUMP! I'm really looking forward to the temperature going down. My gym equipment is outside, and it's just MISERABLE out there.
8/18: 228.0 (0.0)/19.4 (0.0). Yesterday wasn't great or horrible. I'm heading into the office today for my one time per week (I telecommute for the most part since COVID-19). I ate fine, but I am admittedly weighing myself a couple of hours earlier than I usually do during the weekend. I'm feeling a little bit "blah," but I'm going to keep showing my @$$ up here anyway. I hope you all have a great day.
8/19: 228.0 (0.0)/19.4 (0.0). I had a really great salad last night for dinner, but I probably went a bit over regarding my calories. That being said, I will ALWAYS give myself permission to have a really great salad; the long-term health benefits will always outweigh a calorie count on any given day. My father-in-law is over right now picking figs off my tree (I HATE them), and he brought over some tamales. First, I'm not sure yet if my in-laws made them. If they did, they are EXQUISITE, and I would have one for lunch, and one for dinner. If they are from somewhere else AND not "worth it," they will find the trash can. If they're good, I'll have some either way, but I will have my moderation plan firmly in place. I'm going to try again today to exercise. I'm shooting for right after work (which means 5pm, since I'm working from home today).
8/20: 226.8 (-1.2)/19.3 (-0.1). I was talking with some coworkers yesterday, after they informed me that there were some treats to share in the office. I discussed with them how easy it is for me right now to stay disciplined because, well, it just IS. When I say this, I mean that, generally, no matter what is offered to me, I will either politely decline it, or I will find a way to portion control the situation so that any potential damage is mitigated. Yesterday was a perfect example. The tamales my father-in-law brought were FANTASTIC; he brought four. My initial plan was one tamale for lunch, and one for dinner. After eating one, though, I felt a bit "heavy," and decided that I would instead have one per day (I will eat the other with avocado today for brunch). My wife also surprised me yesterday with a delicious banana daquiri. I did not say no, but I did have one glass (maybe six ounces), and I politely declined "seconds" (which I normally would not have). I treated the daquiri like it was a dessert, and had nothing else but water the rest of the night. I'm not feeling cocky, but I am feeling confident: I know I'm on the right track, and I'm really trying to commit 100% to making sure that I NEVER give up on the idea of being healthy and feeling better about myself. Part of that means continuing to post here with my friends... forever.

@_JeffreyD_ Nice! It's our first season with one and we are hooked! I always wanted one, but the whole quarantine situation made us take the plunge. I even heard my husband say as we were talking about next summer he mentioned us still having the CSA, so I'm glad he's thinking about it that way!
Yes this has been our third year. It challenges us to eat better. Sometimes it's hard to find ways to eat some of the different things we see.
Wow, that's awesome! I agree with it challenging you to eat better! My husband and I have never eaten so many greens in our life and we ate pretty healthy pre-CSA. Our late fall and winter share will be interesting to see what we get being in the New England area. I'm guessing it'll be a lot of hearty greens, root veggies, and winter squash.2 -
@jenn990205 yea and the sun was red this morning. Didn't smell smoke though, so it must have been higher in the atmosphere.

08/16 - 234.5 - My son lost 80 lbs and his wife 50 since February. We had dinner at their house last night. Never thought I would eat cheesecake and take more pieces home on a diet. My first time trying Keto and finding it hard to mentally adjust monitoring low carbs instead of low fat.

08/15: 286.6 / am going to fast until this evening as I have a heavy night out tonight. If the weather stays dry (doubtful right now) I'm going to my first karaoke in months outside. Im really looking forward to it. I've made the change from beer to white rum and diet coke so will save a lot of calories there, but expecting weight to jump up tomorrow due to water based on having a meal out.
08/16: 284.6 / had an amazing night last night, so good to be actually out out! Went to the resturant, didn't have a started because I wanted to save room for banoffee pie. Ate my steak, couldn't finish it, nearly cried when I realised I was not going to get my banoffee. Got my banoffee to go and had it to break my fast today 😊 16/8 is seriously helping me to reduce my appetite!
08/17: 283.8 / busy day today and a planned McDonald's. Most likely see a bit of a rise on scales in the morning thanks to fast food!
08/18: 283.8 HITT at the gym last night, I'm aching big time today!! Going to take a gentle walk later and hopefully loosen up a bit!!!!
08/19: 282.6 lovely day out yesterday, involving yet another meal out! Again, couldn't finish the meal! Appetite correction for the win! Out for a picnic and a long play in the park today. Am staying out tonight so will probably be a DNW tomorrow.
08/20: 282.6 weighed myself when I got in today. Very very hungover, didn't eat anything but a slice of toast and a banana in the morning - first time I've broken my fast early in a month, went to the gym tonight and died. I can't believe how much of a negative difference it made to my work out to have not eaten and I'm probably a bit dehydrated too to be honest. Have another work out tomorrow so hopefully will be much better. Having a Chinese take out in a minute because I don't want to cook and I have earnt a fair few calories!!

@astroamy Those California fires! I’m in the Las Vegas Valley and the smoke gets blown in here and stays. Sometimes we can smell it, mostly we can see the haze. But it does create beautiful sunsets! It does break my heart to think of the people and critters who live there.
@HoopsGuy72 We had a fig tree but it died a few years ago. No big loss in my opinion. I hated them too! We also had a small lemon tree which unfortunately died also. One year we got 22 lemons and I made limoncello. YUM but so much SUGAR!
I’m really late today - got up late, had PT and need to go to the store because I have an all day class tomorrow and need to pack a lunch! I will post my update - no change - but have to resume reading at the top of page 14!2 -

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.

8/15 116.0 Oh well, this too may pass. Still well below ANY previously set goal. Out to dinner with friends last night. Absolutely no way to track Italian Chopped Salad in a darkened dining room with everything in 1/4” squares. It was expensive and really not great. Oh well live and learn. I should have gotten my standard burger/no bun.
8/16 117.0 The little bit of salad I brought home tasted better after sitting in the refrigerator over night. I added a little blue cheese and pepperoni to it to bring the protein up, still really short of my changed macro! Sat out on the driveway social distancing with 2 neighbors. It was 109 degrees, I drank 2 quarts of ice water in those 2 hours. Total of 5 or 6 all day. Supposed to be 115-116 every day this week. Life in the desert! 😁
8/17 116.0 I’m having trouble getting as much protein as I want. I just can’t eat that much. Had some celery with Laughing Cow Asiago because I needed protein and crunch! Still below protein goal.
8/18 116.0 Someone said BBQ and that sounds delicious for dinner! I know just the place! We’ll see.

8/20 116.0 I know the scale is working - my husband uses it, too! Perhaps this is my current set point.3 -

08/20 - 154.3 - Not holding my breath on that one. Fasted until about 130 and ate out in San Antonio (had to drive fam there to pick up jeep parts so she can be mobile. Dinner may not be much, if anything at all, because of how filling the food was and how late lunch was. No workout today due to an early start getting to San A in time for a WebEx meeting (not ideal to have a video call while being tossed around on construction roads haha!) Definitely in need of water the rest of the day and hopefully it'll keep me satiated enough through dinner so I don't overdo it if I do end up eating.

Previous Day's Comments08/15 - Holy DOMS am I sore! I nearly fell out of bed and then I had to use to disabled bar things by my toilet to be able to get down to it without collapsing or crying from soreness. I suppose today is my rest day and I'll be doing some stretching. Didn't hit my step goal yesterday but my legs huuuurt and I gave myself some grace. Goal will be to hit my steps and move some of this soreness out of my system today.
08/16 - I really have no idea where this came from. I had a very small breakfast, a few bites of a charcuterie board fam threw together, and 2 small ribs with some cooked spinach. And a crunch bar for lunch because it was that or nothing and I was getting nauseous. Probably not enough water but couldn't keep up - working outside in a heat advisory. Still drank a lot more water than I normally would if I were inside during the day. DOMS are still around pretty bad so working on that today again.
08/16 - Working my way down now. Went swimming to beat the heat yesterday and tried to actually do something to raise my heart rate a little while I was in the pool. Not a huge place, especially with the kids splashing around and having fun, but underwater swimming helped me with that a bit. Had to go get bloodwork and urine test for my appt on Wednesday with the VA and boy am I hungry now. Going to try a yoga workout later today once I get some food and more water in me to make up for it. Not a lot of blood, but enough I don't want to overdo it. Goal is to meet step goal again. Last few days, I've barely made it to my 7225 goal but today I'm going for 8000 steps. Legs still quite sore from leg day on Friday and I need to get that worked out anyway, a nice walk should help.
08/17 - I don't know... I really don't know. I wasn't as active yesterday because work got really crazy. Food wasn't terrible -- I had a grilled chicken caesar salad for lunch and a small bit of leftovers for dinner. Could've drank more water but even that wasn't horrible. I'm still a little sore but nothing like the previous days so that's dropping off. Whyyyyy, body, are you torturing me? Guess that's the motivation I really need to go work out this morning, even though I was debating not doing it because I'm tired. Wake up call, much?
08/18 - So confused with my body... Not sure where this came from. I figured after dinner (I made my favorite meal from home) I had gained or at least maintained my higher weight. So confused. Ran with the pup yesterday morning (with walking warmup, cooldown, and a short break we went 0.71mi) then I took her for a nice walk after dinner to reach my step goal. Today I think Fam is doing arms this morning so I'm going to join her if I can hurry up and wake up enough to function.

I'm guessing it'll be a lot of hearty greens, root veggies, and winter squash.
Our CSA only operates 26 weeks out of the year. It ends in November. Central Illinois.0 -
I'm in! Thank you, @GrandmaJackie!
70 year old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. Recovered from back surgery then hip surgery!! Got back to walking then I sprained my ankle. UGH! hurt! I was down for 6 weeks with the ankle.
The Shelter in Place has everyone freaked. We need to remain calm and respectful of each other.
