Things are still OK in my area of SW WA State. Hard to find my "favorites" but there seems to be plenty of brand X in both the TP and paper towel realm.

Here we go again! Two-week freeze for Oregon. Basically the same as going back to baseline.
Two-week decree including Thanksgiving. No more than 6 people and no more than 2 households represented in one location, whether indoors or out, public or private property. Masks are required to be worn at all times, indoors or outside, except while eating and drinking including private property and your own home.
My plan is to eat and drink constantly all day while inside and to sleep with a sheet over my face as a mask at night for the next two weeks. I will wear a mask out while walking even though no one is within 100 yards. I have never been to jail and don't plan to start now.
I didn't see the bolded part in the order. If it is there, totally uninforceable, so I wouldn't worry about it.
That being said, my 14 year old and his two friends have gotten together a couple times, and are planning to get together on Saturday. They wear masks, even when they are in the other's homes, so maybe that's what the order means.
Nothing changes for higher ed, so we are keeping on as our usual COVID protocols.

Michele - not sure, and too lazy to look up the generic for Cardizem to see if that's what they're sending. Hopefully, it's here tomorrow. And yes, I did the Zio Pak as well, got it in the mail, followed the instructions, and sent it back after two weeks.
Arkansas has had a statewide mask order since July, but even though cases are spiking, they're not leveling any new restrictions. Per the governor's press conference, most of the new spike in cases are coming out of the rural areas rather than the metro areas where there are ways to either shut down businesses or restrict their operation.
Re: TP and paper towels, while it probably won't get to that again, I'm still keeping a reasonable stock in hand at home.
Later y'all,
Love,

Lisa- I didn't know saying "Bless you" was a superstition! I always thought it was manners. lol
KJ (Kelly)
I've actually stopped saying "Bless you". I used to do it automatically, like when people say "Thank you" I respond, "You're welcome".
But I've had people ask me not to say "Bless you" and a few have become rather upset. It implies things they don't believe.

I’ve said gesudheit for as long as I can remember! I still say bless you as well! I come from a long line of Germans & Catholics, I am not a politically correct kind of person! I say it like it is! 😆

Debbie: I'm happy that you and your mom get along so well and both enjoy leggings. You are lucky to be together and enjoy one another. :flowerforyou:
It really is great. We were not close at all when I was growing up. I was always "daddy's girl"- still am but am also very close with my mom. She is only 19yrs older than I am. We are so similar personality wise, hobby wise, etc.
I am looking forward to spending more time up there. My goal is when I am retired(in the next year, hopefully) to spend half my time up there.

Lanette: When the pandemic first raised its ugly head, I bought copious amounts of TP, paper towels and meat. Our freezers are full and supplies of TP and paper towels are in the cupboard. I replenish them as they are used.
Stephtra49: Gesundheit is such a familiar word in my family. Gesund=good.
Heit=health. Gesundheit=good heath to you. My dad’s family were German immigrants before WWI. Their sons served in WWII.
Today is Friday the 13th. May we all be lucky.

Lanette our stores have plenty of paper products except that Costco didn't have our favorite brand so we bought something else. The shelves are full the grocery store where we shop. Eggs were limited to 3 dozen. They had turkeys, stuffing mix and roasting bags but not in the brand I prefer.
Kim I wear legging under my jeans for warmth. I would never wear them as outerwear
Fae the turtlenecks I wear are made by Paradox

Well im tired ,but cant sleep .lately thats the norm ,either that or i have take a nap or 2 during the day.. no naps today.
I bought an oxometer the little machine to check your oxegen levels and bpm.. well the oxygen levels in normal range but if i check the bpm its over 100..40-100 is on the normal range but the lower the number the better.. so i go to check that out tachycardia.. soooo we shall see what the drs think about that..2 -
Lanette ... Yes! We are seeing a shortage of paper towels. Toilet paper is available but being limited. Forget about finding your favorite brand. You buy what is available. Like Katla, I've been stocking up each trip whenever I could find any. Hand sanitizer and Disinfectant wipes that aren't made in China is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Cleaning supply shelve area always empty or sparse. I do the purchasing for our church and can't even get things like toilet paper, gloves, ppe, etc. from our distributor.
My area is falling apart covid-wise as well. I expect full lockdown is just around the corner. Just received notice that a member of my church who attended services Sunday tested positive. We are shutting the church down to online services only this Sunday. To be honest, I'm a little upset with this information coming so late in the week. I'm the cleaner. Would have been nice to know where this person was in the church while I was cleaning. Too late now.
Getting dressed ... every morning I am fully dressed with shoes on before I leave my bedroom. Fall back on when I had so much to do for my son with disabilities. Needed to be dressed with good support on my feet for all the lifting, etc.
Leggings ... I have an "at home only" pair and some lularoe that are just trash and then I have very sturdy material pair that I wear in public. In both cases, I wear longer tops/sweaters. It's not about being an old biddie as much as recognizing that there should be something called decorum and modesty. It's not attractive, nor appropriate for others to see the cellulite in my derriere.
My son and I went and bought a new couch this afternoon. Aesthetically, there is nothing wrong with our current couch. It's only 4 years old, clean, looks perfect. It was an expensive special order purchase after one of my husband's back surgeries and when he wanted a firm seat. He never liked it and has since bought himself a chair with lumbar support. Now, neither my son nor I can sit on the dang thing without developing a sore butt and back. It's like a rock. I've been going to bed early because there's nowhere comfortable to sit. So we bought a very nice power reclining sofa (I couldn't get manual mechanisms down with my punky knee). It does not match my husband's chair, but then nothing would. The chair is ugly. Due to the last lockdown, manufacturing is behind so we won't get it until mid-December ... so a Christmas present for us ...if there isn't another lockdown. Sigh.

Leggings – I don’t own a pair, and most of the ones I see on folks are a ton to revealing for me, they seem to show every lump and bump and you can see your under clothing through them as they stretch around your bum. I just have never understood that choice, but I have never tried a pair on…. Ok ladies enlighten me, am I not looking at the right folks? Or being an old judgmental biddie?
Kim from N. California
I have a lot of leggings ... love them!
But you don't wear them without a dress, skirt or very long top over them. They can be really ugly if they're worn with a short top.
One of my favourite winter outfits is long leggings and a long sleeved smooth top with a long skirt, and cardigan, thick socks and boots. You wouldn't actually know I'm wearing the leggings.
In the summer, I wear 3/4 leggings under a knee-length skirt so that the bottoms of the leggings show just a bit. I've got a pair with lace around the bottom of the leggings, another pair with buttons, and another pair with laces. The lace, laces, and buttons sit between my knees and go about 6 inches down my lower legs. But again, you wouldn't see my lumps, bumps and bum because I've got a skirt on.
My summer outfits are sort of like the middle image here ...
A spring/autumn look might be like the ones below or the one on the right in the picture above ...

Hi Gals,
Thanks for the legging clarifications and the link… you all are wearing leggings that are a style I had not seen. The ones I have seen are much more the thickness of panty hose without feet. Just not a good look unless you have body perfect, especially if not worn with a long top….

Some of my leggings are lighter weight (although not as light as panty hose), some are heavier. All are worn with something over them.
I find them really practical.
Tasmania is very windy, with a lot of gusty wind ... and I like somewhat fuller skirts. Occasionally a gust will come along and do a Marilyn Monroe thing. Wearing fairly thick leggings underneath is somewhat reassuring.
Tasmania can be very humid at times and wearing the leggings makes walking easier.
Tasmania can experience all 4 seasons in a day so the leggings can offer some extra warmth if I leave work and the temp has dropped 20 degrees since lunch.

I actually played 18 holes of golf today. It was warm, 80 degrees so I got really tired. Came home and slept two hours. We haven’t seen any shortages yet but it wouldn’t surprise me. We are so grateful that we live where we do. We can get outside and work in the yard, walk the puppy, play golf and attend church. Some days we just walk down to the river behind our house and sit and watch the leaves falling on the water. Very peaceful.

Many people wear leggings round here, because people are running, or cycling, or whatever. It's normal to wear them to the shop etc. We don't have many larger folks here, Brighton and Hove is the second thinnest place in the whole UK, apart from Chelsea in London. I wear nothing else at the moment, usually with a longer, open cardigan, but sometimes with a short top. Mine are fabulous ones, warm, smooth and comfortable, fairly thick, and they have long pockets for mask and phone. I always wear black. As far as I know I'm not showing any lumps and bumps, nor underwear lines! Because I exercise morning first thing and then again after lunch, running, or rowing, I have to be ready to go at any time. If I had to get changed I probably wouldn't bother.
If I were going out (not likely at the moment) I would wear normal trousers. I only wear dresses or skirts for "best".
We are not allowed to meet anyone at all indoors and only one person outdoors. I wouldn't go indoors anyway, but I would like to walk at a distance with the grandchildren outdoors. I could take them one at a time, but organising it with my son and DDIL is beyond me at the moment as it would require time on their part.
Oh well, it isn't for ever. Might try a Zoom.

(((Beth))): I am so sorry you are not able to get needed cleaning supplies for your church. Is it reasonable to use white vinegar to wipe things down? I hope you are able to replace your couch.
Machka: That is a unique Christmas decoration.

If you're hoping to clean properly at a COVID-19 level, vinegar will do nothing. It's got to be a disinfecting substance.

13: Choose a different route and notice what you see: Didn’t leave home today.
Just heard our nephew is in hospital after having half his foot amputated due bone infection. Soon as he’s strong enough he’s scheduled for 4 more rounds of chemo then surgery for tumor near lungs. Worried and sad for him, his wife and their two teenaged sons.
Fae no happy pills, no laughing gas, only topical then novocaine shots. He IS very gentle, but my fear tension overwhelms. At possibly $4K to replace the bridge, hope an oral surgeon would be in same range.

Tracey I prefer humble pie…
Kim not just leggings but tight tops, bare midriffs, lots of stuff I’d rather not see  But there are leggings and then there are leggings. I have these in grey, black, blue and brown that I wear with tunics or turtlenecks and vests. Like Debbie said, Comfy!

Superstitious habits, almost reflexes: salt over left shoulder after spilling, “Knock on wood”, “Break a leg!” to someone going on stage, “See a penny, pick it up, all the day you’ll have good luck. See a penny let it lie, you’ll wish you had it before you die.” “Bless you!” or “Gesundheit.”
