Wow those level 1 drills, did what I could and it'll be great to see my fitness improve so I can actually do a full push up π€£
Going to continue these posts to keep me on track, but I'm hoping fitness buddies will join me at some stage π€3 -
Day 3: Cardio power and resistance πͺ done!
Woo those power jumps π and I really couldn't manage many triceps dips, but I know I'll get better at them. I'm excited to get another workout done! Feeling great for a Monday morning π€π€£3 -
I did insanity a few years ago... LOVE shaun t! Pure cardio was always my favourite.1

Hi Vicky, same! Totally loving Shaun T, he is a great motivator! I'm yet to complete the pure cardio day, one to look forward to! Were you happy with your 60 day results?1

Day 5: Pure Cardio - done π³π πͺ
Omg I was like π³π¬ when Shaun T said he was nervous for the workout. Oh my legs and shoulders are shredded. What a mental workout π€£ this is well named, I love it! I agree Vicky my favourite workout so far! Feeling great for putting in 100% but also looking forward to my Friday rest day now π2 -
Day 6: Plyometric circuit πͺ week one done!
Level one drills are brutal π€£ I feel like I was able to do a little bit more although still wrecked! Nervous about weigh in tomorrow. I know I'll have muscle weight but hopefully will show some fat loss on the scales π¬ time will tell!1 -
Argh as I suspected I put on a pound & a 1/2. I'm staying off the scales until the end of these 9 weeks as I don't want to feel disappointed π I'm getting fitter, eating better with a deficit, so it will work with consistency, I need to trust the process5

I've been glancing at your posts, as I did Insanity a couple of years ago. Loved it, felt AMAZING (and run over LOL) after every session, but didn't lose weight with it. So whilst tempting, I decided not to jump on the thread as a 'do-er'. However, I read your thread last night and thought - "oh, I hope she's not disappointed when she finds she's put on some weight". Cos you KNOW it's water weight from the sudden exercise shift don't you? Hang on in there, take ALL the photos, and measure your progress against the first session. You are getting fitter, healthier and happier. The scale only shows part of the picture...5

Thanks for your reply and encouraging words! I did suspect that the scales wouldn't be kind, but yes, definitely reminding myself of your words, getting fitter, healthy and happier! I didn't take measurements or photos to start but I'm going to do that this weekend and not stepping on the scales until the finish day π don't want to be discouraged! Thanks again, tomorrow is another day and it's cardio power and resistance day π³πͺ3 -

Day 8: Cardio Power and Resistance. Done πͺ
I definitely felt like I gave it my all, so much so I almost π€’ on globe jumps π My tricep dips are still, frankly non exsistant but I did more and better on the other moves and triceps will come π€
I'm excited to start my second insanity week π I love those hurdle jumps 'Come on y' all let's go!!'
Let's do this! Great way to start the weekend π2 -

Hi Vicky,
Yeah I think I'm going to be the same but like 'skinnyrev' said Im getting fitter, healthier and happier, which is what it's all about - the weight loss will come I'm sure! What did you do to lose weight after insanity? Presuming you wanted to lose weight that is!3 -

I used MFP to lose weight, it's just a numbers game. Eat less than you burn and you'll lose weight.
The high intensity of insanity creates water retention which messes with the scales, that's all π1 -

Thanks Vicky, I'm definitely playing the numbers game and I'll continue with a deficit after insanity, but maybe drop the exercise to a run every other day - I'll certainly be fit enough for that after this program I'm sure π€£2 -

I made the big mistake not taking measurements before insanity and I felt like you too and alittle discouraged at the beginning. Donβt let that stop you. Keep pushing play and dig deeper! Lol. Seriously you will get the results you desire. Donβt give up.

ππ I'm looking forward to my new found fitness! And all this snow and ice will be away too by the time I'm ready to start running ππββοΈ1 -
Day 9: Pure Cardio. Done πͺπ³π
Oh jeez this morning was a sleepy one, had to tell myself to get my butt in gear, get on with it and press play! It took me the first circuit of the warm up to 'get into to it' but I was off and running after that. I managed the full time of switch kicks π and I'm definitely feeling fitter πͺ I took my measurements this morning but as with the scales, I'm not going to measure again until the end - that scales moment has put me off π€£ I will check the results at the end π1 -
Day 10: Plyometric circuit. Done πͺ
Felt really good today and really dug deep. Omg those level 1 drills. Can anybody manage these full three rounds!? π³π Also does anyone know if I should be doing press ups on my knees as I can't do the full 'normal' press up?
Great start to a Monday morning!1 -
Day 11: Cardio Recovery πͺ Done!
π€£ Am I the only one who starts to quote what they say? Shaun: 'This is as far as I can go cause I got big quads' π€£π
I really enjoy this one, I always feel great after all the stretching. I managed more of the hold, pulses sections the only one I never managed this time was the plie hold, my legs were giving out π¬ Noticing more and more how focusing on breathing gets me through a lot more - sounds silly, but it's working. Feeling great, another insanity day done.
'Peace out' ππ1 -
Day 12: Cardio Power and Resistance. Done πͺ
Oh today was another sleepy start, I was bad last with my eats π so felt rubbish when I woke up π but made myself press play and gave it my all - feeling happy I did it and pushed, but still kicking myself for my eats last night ππ. It's just one day though and back on it today - what I need to remind myself of today. Day 12 done!1 -
One day of 'bad' (is there any such thing? Fuel is fuel... yeah, some is more nutritious but sometimes you've got to listen to your cravings for other reasons) will not make an iota of difference in the mid and long run. Keep going!1

Thanks! I like that way of thinking about it! π Definitely keeping going and determined to get to where I want to be health, fitness and lifestyle wise, not a quick journey but a worthwhile one!1 -
Day 13: Pure Cardio AND Cardio Abs followed by an hour of snow shovelling = broken π€£πͺ
Oh jeez, gave it my all again! My neighbours must of thought there was a baby elephant jumping around in my place this morning with all my not so graceful jumps π Cardio abs was a new experience - woo those C sits, I couldn't find the balance to do the two leg 'in and lift's' but I'm hoping this will come (π€£ like so many other moves!). Feeling great! Another week done πͺ1 -
I've been wanting to start back up with insanity and always try to get someone to do it with me at home. I would be joining you late and we might not be on the same day. Years ago when I did it I lost weight and inches. I attempt it here and there but never finish the 60. I incorporate other exercise and notice my strength and endurance improves greatly with insanity!! Hope to do the fit test tomorrow!!0

Oh brilliant, let's do it! I've found posting everyday on MFP has kept me accountable and I press play even on the days I'm not feeling it. Today (rest day) is normally a weigh in day for me, but I'm resisting stepping on the scale as don't want to be put off, I feel loads fitter and in better shape already. You can do it! Good luck with your fitness test today, smash it! πͺ1
