    Maintenance Range Goal: 200-205

Going to try to avoid pitfalls. (pitfall is an interesting word that I use without even thinking what it literally means.) How do I avoid pitfalls? By keeping my eyes open.

I have a trip planned for May that will be a good inspirational milestone.

I like to track averages due to my wild fluctuations. For the same reason, I like to weigh daily so I can see the lows from time to time. It gives me hope.

    Round 141
    Month/Day: Exercise / Comment

    02/11: 213.6
When I see some of you friends whose weight does not fluctuate up and down but moves steadily down, I just wonder how! My “system” seems to be like a semi-truck trailer that is either loaded or unloaded. I cross my fingers every morning when I go through the weigh station, hoping I am not over the legal limit!

    I know… I am weird.

If I had to weigh the same every morning it would be impossible. We are all different, but we have common ground don’t we?

    02/12: 213.4
    Happy Friday!

    02/13: 213.2
This makes zero sense after last evening. Supper was a cheese and crackers plate, with a frozen pizza for the main course. I was pretty good prior to that.

On a side note, DW and I exchanged valentines last night. Our 45th (41st as married.) As I read her card for me aloud, something must have gotten into my eyes. 😊 Had to reach for a Kleenex. She laughed. Ha!

    02/14: 214.0
214 on 2/14! Lots of comfort food yesterday. More coming today. DD in-law’s birthday happens to be Valentine’s day. Makes it easy on my DS! Ha!

    02/15: 215.4

    02/16: 214.8

    02/17: 213.6
I do not know why I have not posted this week yet. Well, I guess I do. Lots clamoring for my attention in the mornings. I can’t believe it is already Wednesday.

    02/18: 212.6
Obviously, I am in one of my off-loading periods. Maybe because I am getting at least a little bit of exercise removing snow from my drive and walk. Oh, and there is that thing about not carbo-loading. At any rate, I touched my lowest reading of 2021.

    02/19: 212.4
Just waiting for the bounce. Unless I make a colossal mistake today, my 10-day average will take a nice dip this round.

    02/20: 213.2
I did not make a colossal mistake, but I tried. Last night I was smitten with my see-food habit. Luckily, I ran out of time to eat more.

This round was my best in a long while. I lowered my ten-day average and ended with a 2.4# loss since end of last round. Hope to keep it going. Thanks again @grandmajackie !

I have had a serious baking urge — more the baking than the eating — since this snowy period started, so yesterday I decided to bake a healthy-ish pumpkin crunch cake — extra egg, reduced sugar, added nuts. Not very seasonal, but I love the flavor & fragrance! Then I cut half into slices and took them to my two next-door neighbors. DH was happy to get dessert, and I enjoyed my half slice, and felt satisfied.
❤️ How rearranging even one piece of furniture can give a room a whole new feel.

@Sheilaboneham You do know you simply MUST share the recipe now, right?

    @deepwoodslady @musicsax et al....

    1) Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly grease a 9x13 pan.

    2) Combine 1 can (15 oz) can pumpkin purée (just pumpkin, not pie filling) + 1 can evaporated milk (12 oz) + 3 large eggs + 1/2 c loosely packed brown sugar + 1.5 tsp cinnamon. (Original recipe called for double that of white sugar, but it doesn’t need it, and the brown sugar adds depth.) Pour into the greased pan.

    3) Combine 1 box cake mix evenly on top (I use spice cake, but white or yellow might work if you add more spices) + half cup nuts if desired. I use chopped pecans and I think they add play or as well as crunch, and a smidge of protein.

    4) Pour 1 cup melted butter over the cake mix.

    5) Bake 70 minutes. Let cool. Enjoy!

Original recipe said 16 servings. I find even a half serving to be very satisfying.

@SheilaBoneham Thanks for the recipe. I love having new things to add to holiday gatherings.
And no sugary frosting on this one! Perfect!

    Day/Weight/Comment
    02/10 …..207.2 ….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
02/11 …..206.8 ….. Very pleased to see it lower on the scale after travel. Let’s hope it doesn’t show up in the days to come. I could have made better choices for sure.

02/12 …..206.0 ….. Sodium all gone. Long hair appointment today. That should limit my window of calories.

02/13 …..206.0 ….. I had a bit of a binge with my snacking last night. However, my meals were minimal and healthy so the scale was not too badly affected. I will try to have an extra well-planned day today although a work crew will be back. Happy with the scale today overall.

02/14 …..206.4 ….. A glucose drop last night for the first time in a minute. Some extra calories at the end of the day.

02/15 …..208.8 ….. WTH? OMAD yesterday with one meal, though a bit starchy. 2 ½ pounds? I have no idea…….

02/16 …..207.2 ….. Back where I started at the top of the challenge. I pushed a little extra water yesterday due to the obvious sodium disaster (?), but not enough. I will work on drinking even more today.

02/17 …..204.6 ….. Yay! All the sodium is gone most likely! I made some really good choices yesterday. And I kept my night time snack to a square of 85% cacao dark chocolate. No exercise to speak of as I had a full work crew here yesterday (expecting them back today.) But I will be grateful and thankful of what I can do. One of my crewmen brings his family. A wife and adult son. They sit at my kitchen table all day even though they live one minute from my home. The other night he worked until 11:15 pm. When I say they are here all day, I am not kidding. He is a very slow but thoughtful and precise worker. I did figure out a simple solution to my eating problem when so many people are here. I bought some high protein slimfast and I have been making myself a shake during the day. It will help keep my glucose from dropping and will satisfy me for awhile. I don’t have to cook and eat in front of anyone. I make my shake and sip. It’s solves my problem. On another note, I slept 6 hours and 5 minutes last night which was AMAZING. Maybe it helped the scale a bit too?

02/18 …..204.4 ….. I just couldn’t get enough food last night. The meatless spaghetti I made using spaghetti squash (small portion) just wasn’t enough. I’ve taken that into consideration since I am having leftovers for dinner tonight. I will have to add something healthy on the side. Pleased with the small drop anyway since there was some late-night eating. Thankfully I kept to good choices.

02/19 …..204.8 ….. I hate typing my name in blue when yesterday was a good day food-wise. However, no TMI day #3 today and yesterday was extremely inactive as I worked on taxes from personal and 2 businesses for 2020. I have accountant but the package prep to give to accountant is horrendous. I am nearly done now so that is a relief! On another note, they are still at stage 1A here in my sleepy rural town in northern Michigan for the vaccine. I am in group 1C as a diabetic and cancer in remission. They are hoping by May for my group. It can’t come fast enough! I feel so vulnerable!

02/20 …..205.0 ….. Down 2.2 this round. Now, to keep up the momentum! Great job to all that worked toward their goals!

    1ifonkqeu87h.jpg
02/01 I am grateful for my ability to retire early at age 60. I am beginning to finally feel better rested and more in control of my life. Owning 2 motels and cabins left me working 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, with never a day off. The businesses were located on my home property so there was never any rest, peace or privacy. The number of employees – 1. Just me and the occasional handyman I would hire if the job was above my skill set. What will I do for the rest of my life? As a widow, travel is a bit scary. I am not sure yet. But hopefully I will have lots of time to figure it out.

02/02 I love my new house. It is old and smoky and needs lots of updating and work but I love the possibilities. Mostly I love that it allows me to have a separate apartment in the basement for my adult disabled son. I love we can work harder on independence for him.

02/03 I love the frontline workers who allow me to shelter safely in my home while they are out on the frontlines battling this virus. Thank you to each and everyone of them. I hope you feel the love and respect.

02/04 I love my children and grandchildren. Without them, life would be meaningless. Thank you to God for placing them in my life.

02/05 I love my 3 new squirrel friends. All black squirrels, so shiny and beautiful. One is a little piggy and doesn’t want the other 2 to eat so I will have to work on that. I call him Ziffel (after Arnold the pig from Green Acres). Squirrel #2 is really skinny because Ziffel doesn’t share very often. I call him Green Bean (after the skinny Hee Haw character). # 3 only comes around about 2 times a week. He is always frustrated by Ziffel and always gets the shortest end of the stick. I call him Darren Stevens (after the hubby in Bewitched). I guess the names I have chosen is showing my age! In any case, I love all 3 of them.

02/06 I love chocolate. There is no getting around that. I am constantly trying to find ways to satisfy that craving without tipping the boat over during my journey. There it is. I honestly LOVE chocolate.

02/07 I love the memories I have with all my loved ones, especially those that have passed. Some memories are becoming fleeting for me, others rise to the surface with incidents’ that I long ago thought I had forgotten. Memories with my brothers & sisters. My cousins. My school friends. My past pets. I love that, through memories, they are with me always.

02/08 I love when I can make a difference in someone’s life. No matter how big or small.

02/09 I love every pet I’ve ever owned. I am thankful that since I have been out on my own (1980) I have cremated every doggy and kitty. They are now able to move with me. I love they are here with me in my new home.

02/10 I love sleep. It is hard for me to sleep as long as I would like. I am usually a 4 hour girl. In retirement I have started getting more 5 hour nights and am slipping back down to the 3 and 4 hour nights less often. I am trying hard to sleep longer but it just doesn’t seem to come for me. However, I do love sleep. The less I get, the more precious it is to me.

02/11 I love plants & flowers. It will be exciting what I can do with the landscape in my new home. Planting in my area of Michigan (zone 4) usually can’t begin until the end of Mary or beginning of June so I impatiently wait.

02/12 I love no alarm clock days. Today was not one of them but I know that today is the day that the Lord hath made, so I will be glad and rejoice in it.

02/13 I love a good book or movie and a hot cup of tea in the evening with no disruptions. I don’t get it very often, so when I do, it is so so appreciated and enjoyed.

02/14 Self Love: I love my strength and determination as a woman. I really feel I have made my own mark on the world in my professional life and my personal one too. My start in life was meager and difficult. I love that I overcame so much and reached such wonderful goals. I need to apply the same strength to my weight.

02/15 I love my morning coffee and appreciate it when no one tries to talk to me until I get in at least one sip.

02/16 I love a good hike in our beautiful national forest that is nearby. It is very rustic and follows the river. So beautiful that I just want to hug every tree and thank them for being a part of my life. I can’t wait for the snow and ice to melt, the birds to start chirping and the trails to be safe again. Spring can’t come soon enough!

02/17 I love MFP for offering this forum to us. I love “Just give me 10 days” especially. I love the support that you all bring to my life. The ideas. The remedies. The hope for progress and health in my own life. I love how open and honest you share your journeys, but also your struggles and triumphs on many things in your life. Thank you to all of you for the caring and the sharing!

02/18 I love my memories. The ability to go back and pull your lost loved ones back into your life, even for a moment, is a true gift from God.

02/19 I love my friends who never give up on me, even when my time is so restricted.

02/20 I love travel and I hope someday to do it again with someone special that may come into my life.

@musicsax can you not buy canned pumpkin purée in the UK? It’s on our store shelves year round and much easier and quicker than doing your own from a fresh pumpkin!

2/17 118.5 Golden Corral last night. YUM
2/18 117.5 Happy 71st B-Day TO ME! No big plans. May suggest Great Greek for OMAD. Governor raised restaurant capacity from 25% to 35% whim he means the Greek place can go from 8 to 11!
    2/19 119.0 that gyro meat! HBD to DGS#2! 🎂
2/20 118.5 I’m great with this. Finished gyro meat for breakfast yesterday-about 5oz. Made hamburger green bean casserole for dinner. yk0o1xfbch4o.jpeg
2/11 LOVE GETTING A GOOD DEAL Went to the local quilt shop with my coupons. Spent $21 and saved $15. Fabric is overpriced so I only shop there with deals!
2/12 LOVE MY HUSBAND He’s not 100% onboard with keto but he has changed his eating and given up most sugar loaded soda and lost about 25# in the process. Not bad for an OLD guy!
2/13 LOVE THE DESERT Waking up at 4:30 isn’t great but a temp of 57 at that time is awesome. Only going to be 66 this afternoon so that’s great for the middle of February!

    Round 141

    Age: 39
    Height: 5’ 3”
    SW: 163
    CW: 127.4
    GW: 125

    GW for this round: 126.5

    Round 135 (10): 136.6 to 133.6 (-3.0 lbs)
    Round 136 (11): 133.6 to 133.2 (-0.4 lbs)
    Round 137 (12): 133.2 to 131.8 (-1.4 lbs)
    Round 138 (13): 131.8 to 130.2 (-1.6 lbs)
    Round 139 (14): 130.2 to 128.8 (-1.4 lbs)
    Round 140 (15): 128.8 to 127.4 (-1.4 lbs)

    Goals for this round:
    - Walk at least 1.75 miles with the dog each night
    - Export my data from the various programs I’m using and combine into one spreadsheet for analysis
    - Enjoy Valentine’s Day and my son’s birthday without guilt

2/11 - DNW - Yesterday was a tough day - my son rolled a ball behind the couch and I bent down to get it at the same time as he jumped up to scream about it. The back of his head smashed into my face/nose. He’s fine, thank goodness, but I saw stars and was in a lot of pain the rest of the day. I didn’t move much; I didn’t cook (we did take out for dinner); and I definitely didn’t track any calories. I don’t know what the scale would be this morning, but I don’t think it’s representative of where I’m actually starting this round.

2/12 - 128.8 - NOT the number I wanted to see on the scale this morning. It’s ok, it’s temporary, and it will certainly be motivation to stick to my meal plan this round - no more extra snacking! Thank you to everyone who expressed sympathy - I’m doing much better. Still some pain, but nothing too bad. The little guy just has a really hard head! 😂

2/13 - 127.2 - That’s much more in line with what I expected for this round. Though i have a steak dinner and chocolate fondue planned for Valentine’s Day, so this may be short-lived. My NSV today was trying on the new jeans I just bought - 2 sizes smaller than my previous pairs! And they fit! I’ve been hesitant to buy new clothes since I’m not quite to my goal yet, and I’m debating going for another 5 lbs off after that - but I really needed these and it’s a great mental boost to wear stuff that fits. Grocery pickup today and meal prep tomorrow - white chicken chili for lunch this week, with chocolate strawberry overnight oats and zucchini feta dill egg muffins. I’m also trying protein powder for the first time, so I’m going to make energy bites with it!

2/14 - 127.4 - Happy Valentine’s Day! It’s going to be a day of indulgence and I’ll definitely go over my regular calorie allowance. We did crepes this morning and will be having a special dinner tonight. Since we can’t go out, I’m glad we can still do something special to celebrate each other. Got in a solid leg workout this morning and will do my regular walk tonight.

2/15 - 128.4 - Don’t know how many calories I ate yesterday, and I don’t really want to. It was a wonderful day; I managed to cook the steaks perfectly and we all LOVED the chocolate fondue. I know every day that I have a wonderful husband and amazing kids, but it’s still nice to have special days to celebrate. I enjoyed everything I ate and was present in the moment with my family - that’s all I ask of myself. The scale will sort itself out. Did a 30 minute HIIT workout this morning and will aim for some Beat Saber tonight.

2/16 - 127.8 - Still coming down from Valentine’s Day. I’m on to spring cleaning now - trying to take on one room each day. Yesterday was the living room - today, the main bathroom! Cleaning burns a few extra calories each day, right? Thoughts and good wishes for all those affected by the winter storms here in the US - stay warm and stay safe!

2/17 - 127.6 - *sigh*. Did it again last night - was doing great all day sticking to my meal plan, exercising, even took the kids hiking - and then I ate a bunch of cookies right before bed. Part of the problem is I tell myself “It’s ok, I’m so close to my goal weight, one day of maintenance won’t hurt...” but that doesn’t work when I’m doing it every few days! The other part is simply that I AM really hungry - maybe because I’m staying up too late when we eat dinner at 5:30; maybe because I’ve been upping the intensity of my workouts. Either way... new game plan! I will now be incorporating a full evening snack into my meal plan. I think it will help to have a balanced, healthy snack planned that I can look forward to rather than letting myself have “just one” cookie that snowballs. I’ll also try to get to bed earlier - but I’ve been trying to do that for years and haven’t managed it yet. 😂.

2/18 - 128.4 - Perseverance is the word of the day here - both in terms of teaching the kids about the Mars rover landing today and what I need mentally after seeing the scale go up again. I did implement my evening snack last night - sliced pear and a small amount of cheddar cheese. It was delicious and worked well to keep me from snacking on other things. A solid strength workout this morning helped me feel good about today, but tomorrow is my little guy’s 2nd birthday and we have plans for a special breakfast (ordering from a restaurant), special dinner (macaroni & cheese, his FAVORITE) and cake (Elmo!). I’m going to do my best to make healthy choices , but it really may be a round where I gain or at best maintain rather than lose.

2/19 - 128.0 - Nothing is going to get me down today! It’s my little guy’s birthday - and I’m actually EXCITED to be in pictures with him today! I’ve always avoided pictures, but I’m pretty proud of everything I’ve achieved the past 6 months and can’t wait to capture our family celebration today.

2/20 - 128.2 - Not the round I wanted.... but maybe the round I needed to have - and certainly the round I earned through my own actions. I’ve had a relatively easy time of weight loss so far - there have been little variations, but it’s been a steady downward slope overall. I can’t take that for granted, and I can’t expect that if I eat at maintenance every other day in a round that I will do anything other than maintain! It’s a good wake-up call that I still have work to do.

    Total Round Gain: 0.8 lbs

Welcome to second round of maintaining. Oddly, until today as I type my Round 141 intro, I actually did not realize that my weight dropped two pounds this round despite adding the 200 calories and having mediocre exercise. I certainly have some thinking to do. Right now, for this round, I will be continuing to only add the additional 200 calories as I am facing three travel days with little to know activity which might balance things out. If I drop further at the end of this round, then I need to figure out a better system for setting my daily calorie goal.

    Past Goals
    - Get under 150
    - Get under 145 by my birthday (10/26)
    - Get to pre-COVID weight from Feb 2020, 142.4
    - Get under 140 before Thanksgiving 2020,
    - Not gain over Thanksgiving,
    - Get below 135
    - Lose min 2 lb during December
    - Walk/run to Sombrero B for sunrise photo
    - Maintain losses of time in Florida
    - Maintain weight for round 136 which included Xmas as well as New Years
    - lost the 1 token pound in round 137, but is was what I hoped for, so all good, right?
    - passed the -1 lb goal for round 138, and actually passed UGW of 129

    Female
    Height 5’ 4.5”
    Age 59

    UHW - 9/13/01 168.8
    Recent low weight - 5/24/17 - 126
    CSW - 9/14/20 153.0
UGW 129.0 (being revisited - have passed that number)
    Round 126 equivalent: -3.8 9/14-9/23
    Round 127: -2.0 9/24-10/3
    Round 128: -1.4 10/4-10/13
    Round 129: -1.4 10/14-10/23
    Round 130: -2.2 10/24-11/2
    Round 131: -2.8 11/3-11/12
    Round 132: -2.2 11/13-11/22
    Round 133: -.8 11/12-12/2
    Round 134: -3.8 12/3-12/12
    Round 135: -.6 12/13-12/22
    Round 136: 0.0 12/23-1/1
    Round 137: -1.0 1/2-1/11
    Round 138: - 2.8 1/12-1/21
    Round 139: -1.0 1/22-1/31
    Round 140: -2.0 2/1-2/10

    Running total, since Sept 14, 2020: -27.8

    Round 141 – starting weight 125.2

2/11- 124.8 Very shocked. This is certainly a learning process

2/12- 124.8 Well this implies that yesterday was less of a fluke. Interesting to see that I lost weight last round and into this round despite having minimal time for formal exercise and having added 200 calories to my daily calorie goal. But I will say that lately my NEAT would be higher than typical for me. I have been closing all three apple rings without effort these past few days.

2/13- 124.2 Late post. Left the house early. We drove 693 miles today. Settled into the hotel with the two cats. Did my exercise at 5:30 before finishing packing and getting in the car at 7:30

2/14- No scale No time for computer and reporting in on the phone does not work for me.

2/15- No scale Started catching up with MFP community late last night

2/16- 124.4 Pretty amazing for sitting in a car for 29 hours of driving. I will credit this for having completely pre-planned and tracked my meals and snacks for Saturday, Sunday and first half of Monday. I also packed a cooler with strategic items and were lucky that for our overnight in North Carolina I did not have to drag the contents into our hotel room. Got here late yesterday afternoon, then had to unload my jammed SUV, then cook dinner and then headed out for a walk, which I have not been doing due to temps and road conditions in Massachusetts. 5.5 miles last night. Felt good, except that I’m not so sure about walking in 75 degrees and high humidity. Heading out to meet up with neighbors for a morning walking in a few minutes….

2/17- 124.2 generally busy day. Will be working this place for a solid week. Hope to enjoy it sometime soon.

2/18- 124.8 Pizza last night and went over on daily calories with biscotti MIL made and packed up for us. Need to remember that for me, the carb type foods are much for of a trigger for me.

2/19- 125.2 Hmm CICO were good both days. So the new added variable last night was an ACE Pineapple hard cider and I rarely drink alcohol. Oh, I did run some yesterday and a longer than ususal walk as well. Tonight is out to eat so that will be interesting for tomorrow’s numbers. Not sweating it as I never expected to see these weights in the first place. I just do not want to begin a continual upward trend, hence accurate tracking.

2/20- 125.0 Down .2 for the round, so from the perspective of the scale I successfully maintained this round. From the perspective of pure math, the resulting weight makes no sense, which is fine as my goal is to learn about what works for me.

2/19 – AM: 1:21:04 group walk at 16’41 pace for 4.85 miles; PM: 5 min mixed planks, 1.5 min pushups (10 real, 14 knee)

February milage total – 95.16 miles
    Indoor cycle: 53.73
    Walking: 38.55

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.
    • Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
    • A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
    • Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
    • The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
    • Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
    • The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
    • When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
    • Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

@UTMom81 Emberly is adorable! Your relationship reminds me of mine with youngest “born to us” grand. She is the only one whose birth I attended (and videoed) and the reason we moved to Illinois and then Las Vegas. Her father has made no effort to see her since she (and mom) left his abuse at 4 months. She is going to be 18 in about a month and graduates in May. We are so proud of her and the Godly young woman she has become. This post she made on my birthday made me cry.

@musicsax can you not buy canned pumpkin purée in the UK? It’s on our store shelves year round and much easier and quicker than doing your own from a fresh pumpkin!

No, I've never seen tinned pumpkin; to be honest I don't buy that many tinned products, but I shall have a look in a larger supermarket than I usually use to see if I'm just not aware of it. I'll let you know later next week.

I always make best use of fresh pumpkins when they are in season, my favourite is pumpkin and ginger soup!

Goal weight for this round: Maintain in the 115-117ish range.
Another goal: Actually check-in each day and weigh daily.

    Previous days
02/11 116.0 Had a .8 whoosh overnight, so I’ll take it. I’m planning to eat at maintenance today but it’ll be spent on good for me foods like a couple more ounces of nice and lean pork tenderloin and roasted veggies. I went into the office today and spent the day with my manager and our clinical nurse manager. It was nice to connect in person and we were able to get part of a project done too!
02/12 115.4 I’ll continue to take these whooshes. It has inspired me to not get takeout tonight and just find myself something more manageable at Trader Joe’s for a “Friday night easy dinner”. Dinner last night was so filling for me that I didn’t even have room for everything I had portioned out. I ended up choosing butternut squash and potatoes to roast with the pork tenderloin plus a bit of quinoa too. My husband was craving Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner so he got that, but I stuck with the pork tenderloin and he is having some of the pork for his lunch today. I was tempted with takeout but after realizing that I didn’t want a 1,400 calorie dinner it was easy to pass on.
02/13 Did not weigh but ate pretty well all day and treated myself to mochi cake. I figure 200 caloires over is much better than 800 or more with getting takeout. So I’d call Saturday a win for myself 😊.
02/14 Haven’t weighed yet but TOM arrived, so I’m going to be kind to myself and eat at maintenance today. I have my spin on a split pea soup in the croc pot right now. I’m making the soup with a mixed bone broth that has been in the croc pot since Friday afternoon. I used a combo of mostly chicken bones with a few beef and pork bones mixed in. I typically have a zip loc bag in my freezer that I’ll throw bones in after dinner and sometimes other veggies scraps. When the bag gets full, I toss it all in the croc pot and let it simmer until I feel it’s “right”. I also added about 30 g of bacon to it to give a little smokey flavor because I couldn’t find the type of meat I wanted at Trader Joe’s for it. Regardless, it should be tasty because of the rich bone broth used and sauteed onion, carrots, leeks, celery and garlic I tossed in as well.

02/18 It has been a crazy week. Work has been a bit stressful. I thankfully got my second dose of the vaccine, but had some effects so I laid low for a day. Then, yesterday I had a busy work day and running around afterwards. My food has been pretty good luckily, just maybe high on sodium and carbs(possible reason for the uptick). Tuesday, all I ate were crackers, fruit, and then Thai Tom Kha soup with a little bit of rice noodles and sticky rice with mango. Tuesday I had a post vaccine fever and when I have a fever all I want is light food and my husband offered to pick up Thai on his way home for dinner and I took him up on it. Last night I grabbed us sandwiches for dinner but was still able to stay within a 100 calorie deficit. Sleep was weird last night which made me hungry for breakfast a lot earlier than normal. I’m rambling now but I will catch up on people’s posts this weekend. Holy moly I just noticed the end of the round is this weekend. When did that happen?!?
02/19 115.4 This is a nice number. I think this will be the first round in a while where I have a loss 😊. My happy scale app is finally in green again and in a downward trend! This number is making me want to just eat my leftovers from dinner last night and not get takeout tonight. This progress is very motivating for me.
02/20 115.6 I’ll happily take this to end the round. We’re getting take out tonight, so we shall see what happens tomorrow. 1.2 lb loss since the last day of the last round.

02/11 Grateful that everything is rolling along for our basement renovation and found out today that it shouldn’t take as long as expected. We are still putting in some cushion with our timeline, but this is all very exciting!
02/12 I’m grateful for my physical therapist that I’m heading to see in a few minutes. She has made such a difference for me! I did a quick 20 minute yoga session this morning and plan to do a 30 minute spin bike ride this afternoon.
02/13 Was able to do a 45 minute spin bike ride and nice long heart opening vinyasa yoga video yesterday afternoon. I also did more hip and pelvic floor stretches after, which felt so good!
02/14 I love my husband! We are having a lazy day because he got his 2nd dose of the vaccine and just feels a bit weird/off. Today I plan to do some yoga but I’m not sure what length of time I’m in the mood for.
02/15 Yoga and spin bike for 20 minutes.
02/16 Grateful for the second dose of the covid vaccine and my not so fun natural immune response to it. No exercise today though.
    02/17
02/18 Got in some yoga this morning plan to ride the bike at some point.
02/19 So grateful for my supervisor at work. Did a bit of yoga this morning and plan to use the bike later today. I was able to get a 45 minutes ride in yesterday.
02/20 Grateful for walks in the woods after a fresh snow fall. My husband and I went for a nice 4-5 mile walk this morning and got semi lost.

192.5 up 2 lbs for the round. It was an unusual drop at the beginning of the round time to move on
