Hi all, great inspiration...although i gained a little this week. My youngest son graduated this weekend with a Doctorate in Law, so we went to Washington, DC to be with him and celebrate, next weekend he'll be home and we will celebrate again...
Also, while we all welcome things back to normalcy, i'm finding that with social and business functions back, it's hard to stick with my diet and exercise plan....I really have to think about it, and try stay within it, but it's so easy to go with the flow. However, my motto is, "We are exactly where we want to be in life, if not we would do something about it", which is why we are all here, doing something about it, at least this part of our lives.
Have a great week everyone!10 -
@lperkins5 wow. Congratulations to your son! What an accomplishment! That deserves a few more celebrations 🎉6

I need to go back and read everyone's post for inspiration when I have more time - cause, man, I need that. I missed 2 weighs ins. Well, I missed one, couldn't face the second. Work got insane and there was about two weeks of take out/ eating out. I've been working from home for going on 15 months now and for the most part I like it but when it gets hectic I can have a 5am call, 7:30 am, then 9 - 5, a 7:30pm meeting, on call weekends... I let myself give in to the sense of being overwhelmed and "treated" myself too much convenience and junk. Back to focus today.8

@postpandemicmiddleage I agree there are some perks about working from home (I do weekly rotating shifts home/office) but being accessible 24/7 is tricky. I once found myself doing a video call sitting in my car while I took my son to his Dr appointment. It also makes it difficult to commit to a regular healthy eating schedule. Boundaries are so important, but hard while working from home.6

I am also tired of walking and looking at the same old stuff. If only I lived at the beach, I would never tire of that. I tried listening to a new podcast on my walk this morning and it did make the time go by faster. I ate way way too much on Mother's Day. Absolutely gluttony. Then pizza last night. I am not looking forward to the Friday weigh in.6

Thanks so much...I had three in college at the same time, and he is the last....

Last night, I didn't do my evening walk. I did a 30 minutes 'fat loss" yoga session. It was pretty grueling and it was for beginners. Today I do feel sore in the abs and gluts. But it's a good feeling. I also slept pretty well.
The lovely yoga lady on youtube said we need to take care of ourselves- if we don't, who will? She said it takes discipline to eat well.
I am lacking discipline - it was teacher appreciation last week and I got chocolates and lots of Sun Chip bags- it was so kind of these parents. But I have zero discipline lately so I ate a lot of those gifts.
If I didn't get them, I would never have gone out to buy them. So, probably thousand calories totally unnecessary because "it was there in my drawer." Grrrr8 -

I like to take it one food choice at a time and think about it as an individual experience and make a conscious choice to eat something on the healthier side. Kind of like taking life one day at a time. It’s hard and this method may not be for you because different things work for different people. It is just forcing yourself to take the time to think about the choice you are making. Doing it enough though makes it a habit.
Wishing you the best and less stress in the future.

My story...
Name: Kristina Hahn
From: Coeur d’Alene, ID
Sep ‘07: My HEAVIEST weight...202 lbs. I was pregnant with my daughter &, apparently, my obgyn thought it would be OK to let me gain 40 lbs during pregnancy.
9-17-07: After 36 hrs of pre-labor, delivered daughter. Had recurring female issues starting at this point.
Dec ‘07: Got down to 180 lbs pretty quickly after my daughter was born in Sep.
Feb ‘09: Started working out around this time. Got down to 153 lbs. Lost A LOT of inches. Elliptical 3-4x per week for 45 min.
Sept ‘09: Stopped going to gym. Moved. Started eating poorly, again. Gained weight. I’m guessing 160 lbs by this point?
2011-2013: Went through a ROUGH patch. After 4 previous OBGYNs, ended up FINALLY finding one that took my issues seriously. Had a laparoscopy in Aug ‘11. Stage IV endometriosis was discovered & removed. Another surgery (vestibulectomy) in Dec ‘11. Final laparoscopy, due to symptoms of endometriosis after last one. Full hysterectomy. Stage IV endometriosis was found this time, as well. Bladder was severely damaged during removal. Still intact, thankfully.
Jan ‘14: 181 lbs. Started focusing on weight loss, again.
Oct ‘14: Got down to 138 lbs!!! I was MISERABLE. Basically, starved myself to get to this point.
Nov ‘16?: Tried to lose weight, again, after gaining approx 20 lbs. 160 lbs?
Feb ‘17: Started using the elliptical & rowing machine 3-4x per week. HIIT. Alternating.
Apr ‘17: 133 lbs!!! I was SO proud of myself! Still had a pooch tummy. Felt discouraged by that.
Jun ‘17: Had to move, suddenly. Gained 20 lbs by Fall.
4-27-21: Started Carnivore.
5-8-21: Too many energy/stomach/swelling issues on Carnivore. Started Carb 30%, Protein 30%, Fat 40%.
Kept gaining after Jun '17. Battled depression after moving to our last house in Nov ‘17. Heck, I’ve battled depression my WHOLE life. Haven’t been able to rebound, yet...but I have HOPE!!!🙏🏼💗10 -
Well not surprised that last weeks’ random loss evened itself out. So no loss this week but that makes sense and I’m still happy with the overall direction!
