Daily Macro's met? Pretty close most days. I've been super tired after work all week and have been napping instead of eating a good meal and food prepping. Napping isn't my style so I'm not sure what is up with that. Hopefully more energy next week.6 -

Not so good- I thought i was doing better. I did yoga three time this week. Meditated four times. Made all of my meals instead of take out.
On a positive: I attended a one hour Zoom about becoming vegan. I'm just curious. It was very interesting.8 -
@Up_n_Running I did Tabata for about 6 weeks- it's an excellent program- grueling but effective.5

Sounds like you had a very positive week! Don't let the numbers discourage you...you exercised, meditated, prepared your own meals and added some personal development with your Zoom meeting!!! Success!!!5 -
I just watched a TED talk about the metric system and learned that the US is one of only 3 countries that has not officially adopted the metric system (the other two are Liberia and Myanmar). Wow, isn't it about time the US got on the metric train? I should give it a try. This started me thinking about what my weight is in kilograms. Since a kilogram is 2.2 pounds, my goal weight of 230 pounds is ~104.5 kg. This goal weight is the weight I chose last July when I started my current weight loss effort. I really wasn't sure what a realistic target weight would be, but I liked the idea of losing an even 100 pounds. Since then, I've begun thinking 230 pounds might still be a little high and I've wondered if I can get down to 220 pounds. Well, what a coincidence that 220 pounds happens to be an even 100 kilograms! I'm sure that's a sign, so once I get down to 230 pounds, I'm going to set my sights on 100 kg.
(I should also start thinking of food portions in grams rather than ounces, right?)10 -
Managed to fit in a weights workout and a long walk. Go me7

I showed that video to my students when we were studying measurement. It's a good one.5 -

Quick Check for missed Friday May 14/21
SW 162
GW 140
Today's Weight 155.2
Gained a couple pounds, but expected as have not followed MFP program at all last week. I seem to start of Mondays with great intentions, then let life stressors throw me off taking care of myself
Simply put .... There is SO MUCH difficult stuff going on right now in my life in addition to COVid situation & how that has changed life.
This entire past year has been tough!!!
Job loss Mar 2020
Lost my dog - 13 yr old lab
Mom had a stroke and is left side paralysed and in LTC - declining quickly
My son has not spoken to me or seen me in a year this June!! And I have no idea why as he has blocked calls/texts/Messenger. Heartbroken 💔
Have a 16yr old cat that is very unwell and I must help her transition over the rainbow...but Vets her are not allowing us to go in with pets for appointments.
Biopsy appointment tmr on breast🙄A total unexpected thing as no symptoms at all 🤔Most likely nothing.
Anyway......sorry to 'dump' but the stress is real and affecting my life big time & my health. Especially not sleeping.
Having said all the above.....I'm NOT giving up and today's intention for the week is to practice self care by eating well and trying to exercise. Also....I think I'm gonna return to some of my spiritual things, after all it can't hurt right!!!
Have a great week Everyone.

Hi all, Happy Monday....my weigh in accountability day...while the weight is slow to come off, the good news is learning to eat within reason, which may be half the battle. My brain is starting to communicate with my stomach, telling me that I'm full a lot faster than even a month ago.

In my smoothies I like a handful of spinach, some greek yogurt, frozen berries and or frozen banana, a scoop of some sort of protein powder, ground chia seeds, and some orange juice to help blend it all together.8
-
Up_n_Running wrote: »Hey guys and gals 😊
Does anyone have a favourite smoothie recipe ? I wonder if anyone uses meal replacement shakes or something similar? I have been flirting with the idea.
I went on a smoothie binge awhile ago. I think you just have to make sure that the ingredients you are putting in don't add up to more than you are usually eating. I wasn't being too conscious of it and when I actually added up all the calories it was more than I would normally have. I used to make them with ice, protein powder, frozen berries (usually strawberries), 1 banana, greek yogurt, orange juice, chia seeds and flax seeds.
If I was to make one today I would probably cut out the juice since there are so many calories in it and substitute with a nut milk of some kind (probably unsweetened almond milk). There are so many recipes, may be worth a shot to follow one at first and tweak it to your liking. Something to have fun with.

My goal was to lose another 6 pounds in May and I think I am on track to maybe lose a little more! I have been meal prepping salads like crazy and keeping hard boiled eggs on hand. My mom and I always said we could eat a salad for lunch and dinner everyday and be happy because we enjoy them so much. (Usually while eating something other than a salad 🤦♀️) But we hate making them. Well I think I finally found the winning combo for me - ingredients, ease of prepping, and containers. If anyone is curious it’s romaine, green and purple cabbage, shredded carrots and radishes (prepped in a 4 cup Rubbermaid brilliance container) Then I add 1 hard boiled egg, sprinkle of cheese, Tbs of dressing. At dinner I skip the egg and have whatever protein I’ve made for the family.
It may seem boring but for now it’s working and I still look forward to lunch and dinner.
I’m always looking for friends on here. So if you’d like to, send me a request! I’d love more accountability.
Good luck everyone!

I have lost sight of my goals. This weekend, I will do a refresh and actually write down goals on paper. Maybe it will stick then! I have started to feed my stress.
In school, we have these cheap mirrors in the classroom ; they almost look like fun house mirrors (probably kid proof) BUT you should see my profile in the mirror. UGH!
Have you heard this old joke: " I am trying to get in shape!".... The shape I've chosen is a pear. LOL
11 -
My original goal back in December was to lose about 25 lbs. I calculated that if I lost 1 lb per week, I’d get there by May 29th. That seemed like a long time away and I’m not sure I really believed I’d get there. But, day by day, week by week, one pound at time, I am sooo close!
😁 Going into the long weekend and the coming week I’m aiming to maintain. This will be practice for what’s to come...
I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself but moving forward, I am setting a maintenance range at somewhere between 131-134. I’d like to learn how to maintain this weight range (for good... no plans to have to lose any of it again) and work on self improvement in terms of acceptance, appreciation, and body image.
I have never in my adult life been completely satisfied with my weight, for as long as I can remember, I’ve been trying to lose weight, even when I now know I didn’t need to. The thing I would tell my younger self... “Your body is healthy and strong.... keep it that way by eating well and moving consistently every day so you can live a long, healthy, active life. Treat your body well by eating well and building consistent exercise habits”.

My refrigerator died this week and I am awaiting the new one today. While I was emptying out the old one, I was amazed at how much food I had that was expired/unidentifiable etc. Yuck! I probably threw out $200.00 worth of food. I am determined to downsize in terms of sheer STUFF. I don't need 10 types of salad dressing, I need 2. That kind of thing. That being said, without a fridge this week, we've eaten out every meal and I have not made good choices. Bagels, subs, etc. Lots of carbs and very little veggies. I am looking forward to putting healthy foods into my new fridge. I haven't weighed in; it would depress me. Like some others here, I am needing to hit reset as well.9
