Today's run was fairly pleasant. Felt strong and the humidity was finally down below 100% (for once in seems like ages) to 82%.

I've been having trouble with my chest strap HRM briefly losing signal several times during my runs. A battery swap and cleaning did not help, and today I ran with a brand spanking new one, but it did the exact same thing! :grimace: So it's definitely not the HRM's fault. I read the owners manual on the new one and it suggested wetting the sensor before running. I've never done that before. I may try that to see if it is somehow an issue with contact for the sensor.

@WhatMeRunning - when I used the HRM strap I had to wet it to get the connectivity to be consistent.
@SummerSkier - I hate that too and it also happens for me when it is just hot but not humid which is more common here. Yesterday it was 90 and the humidity was maybe in the upper 20's so the dew point was low but I was sweating buckets and increasing my own private humidity level!
@eleanorhawkins - so glad you are doing so well with your trail club!
@skippygirlsmom - I want a job like Skip where they leave me nice surprises like that! Actually I would just like to have a Fleet Feet somewhere close to me. Also I am so glad you are back out on the trails and running with your girl again!
@quilteryoyo - hope your tummy is feeling better and that the difficulty breathing was just a one time issue. Have you had asthma before? I know it kind of feels like that.
@penguinmama87 - I have done some genealogy research too. Fortunately for me many relatives on my dad's side had already done so much work going all the way back to the 13 and 1400's in England, Holland and Ireland. My husband has done quite a lot of research too and we were able to visit cemeteries in Texas and in Pennsylvania. I would love to someday get back to the UK and do some research at the genealogy libraries in Scotland and Ireland as well as visit the churches and cemeteries there. You might check out the FamilySearch website. It is part of the Mormon Church Genealogy library and has a wealth of information and it's free.

I have had a couple of good runs and a pretty terrible run the last few days. Hamstring is occasionally giving me issues but I am trying to be more consistent with my PT exercises and stretches. I am not going to make my 100 mile club goal again but there is always next month.

I really dont mind running in the sauna (yes I do) but it's when you stop and you just keep pouring out sweat. yuck.

It makes it really hard to shower, apply make-up and get ready for work!

@Avidkeo that is a GORGEOUS view you have there. wow!!!!!!

@Teresa502 yes it certainly does. I have been WFH for the past 14 months but that will end next week so it's going to be hard to cool down for sure. Luckily we are still 100% masked so don't need a lot of makeup. hahahaha.

@shanaber I am going to miss my May goal also but it's all good. We just keep on keepin' on! Already starting to think about what I should push for in June.

Nice run @yirara . Does Coach Amy fuss if you don't meet her goal, or does she lower her expectations?

I’m not sure yet. There’s a confidence level that I’ll finish at the chosen time and it went up last night. But I don’t know whether she’ll give me harder intervals or tempo runs next week due to this 😬

@kgirlhart Glad you were able to dodge the storms. Hope they have subsided today.

@ContraryMaryMary I hope you heal quickly. Glad the aqua jogging helped. Remind me again what your injury is. I have forgotten. Sorry.

Congratulations @penguinmama87 ! I remember that 20 minute run with no break being a hard mental barrier to overcome. You are doing great!

@polskagirl01 Landfill runoff sounds awful. Glad it was a beautiful day, you got upwind and that your trail shoes handled it well.

For once I have managed perfect timing - running injury and bad weather. It's so much easier to miss a run when it raining, freezing and blowing a gale outside. Now, as I'm healing, the weather seems to be improving - still cold and windy, but the rain has gone.

As part of my rehab I tried aqua jogging for the first time. Weird, but my legs and feet felt so loose and relaxed afterwards. I definitely prefer it to swimming lengths so will try and keep it in the weekly rotation.

ANYTHING is better than swimming lengths!!!
