Well regardless of where you stand on this issue, I think we'd all probably agree that greed and commercialism in the medical field and pharmaceutical industries hurt everyone. I don't just automatically trust peer reviewed research without looking up the researchers and funding, etc. & it's sad.. isn't there such important research that scientists need to do, but can't simply because it's not profitable enough to be funded?

    No I do not agree.

*the actual rate is more like 1.8%

Sure, if you count all of the people killed in car wrecks, construction accidents, or died of other legitimate causes that were labeled as "Covid" deaths because they may have tested positive after death. Hospitals everywhere are using the "Covid" cause of death for everything they can because covid insurance claims are paying at a higher rate and are not being scrutinized as closely for fraud.

Actual deaths caused by Covid alone are probably much lower than what @ElliesDad422 noted.

Hospitals everywhere? Our hospitals are publicly funded and non-profit so I can't imagine a scenario where a Covid death would be more beneficial to them than a death by any other cause.

Or do you mean life insurance claims? Maybe I'm not following exactly what "covid insurance claims" you are referring to.

I do not know where you are, but I do know that hospitals in the United States get a much higher reimbursement rate from health insurance on claims with a covid diagnosis, and that those claims are not being scrutinized for fraud the way other claims are. This is simple fact. There are people going in for broken legs, testing positive for Covid with no symptoms, and the hospitals are filing claims with primary diagnosis of Covid and secondary diagnosis of bone fracture, and getting paid more with less scrutiny.

Same with deaths. Say someone who is a lifelong sufferer of emphysema is on death's doorstep. They go to the hospital, are admitted, test positive for covid with no symptoms of the disease, and die a week later. The hospital codes it as a covid death in order to get higher Medicare reimbursement and less scrutiny from private insurance. It has been happening every day since this started, and this has driven up the death count tremendously.

    What fraud??

Not following what you are claiming is happening??

And does it apply to all countries?? Are you claiming covid deaths are being misdiagnosed in all countries - if not, how do you a count for the death rate world wide ??

When claims are submitted to insurance companies for adjudication and payment, they are run through extensive data analysis for possible insurance fraud. Both by private insurance companies and by Medicare. Claims with Covid diagnosis on them are not being scrutinized as closely, and are being paid regardless of any issues that may arise in the claims by government mandate.

I cannot speak intelligently about what may be going on in other parts of the world, I only know what I know about what is happening in my country. All I will say, in closing, is if you blindly believe what the talking heads in the government and the media are spoon feeding you, you are going to end up getting what you deserve, whatever that might be.

And as Forrest Gump said....."That's all I have to say about that."

    I'm out.

Yes this is not a simple moral dilemma. There are 25000 ppl in the world dying daily from hunger (10000 children). There are also simply treatable diseases many ppl in third world unnecessarily are dying from. In this context it doesn't sounds as dilemma but cynicism.

Have to call BS on these sensational numbers. Below article gives a fair description of what's really going on
