☀️Hello, ladies! Happy June!!!☀️
☀️Summer is here again! Well, for most of us!
☀️What are your goals for June? How about for the summer as a whole? Is there anything you're looking forward to that you missed out on last summer? Any concerns or things that might be a problem this month?
🟡If you've never been here before, please know you are welcome to join at any point in the month. All you have to do is post something, and then BAM!, you're one of us.
🟡In this group, we post our weekly and monthly goals and provide support and motivation to each other as we share our triumphs and our struggles. This group is all about accountability.
🟡All are welcome and, if you think you belong here, you do! No matter how much you currently weigh or how you measure (or don't measure) your weight, we'd love to hear from you.
🟡Victories, both scale and non-scale, are great to hear about, but, conversely, we know that weight loss isn't all sunshine and roses. If you're going through a rough patch, please feel free to be honest and vent your heart out. The struggle is real and we're all here to support each other!
☀️This June, let's be joyous, jubilant, and get the job done!!!☀️

Thanks for starting the thread again @RavenStCloud.
Looking forward to another month with all you lovely ladies, I love how supportive and honest this group is.
My goal for this month is 190lbs that would take me to my halfway point and leave me with 30lbs still to lose. I will continue walking, using my exercise bike and my dumbells and drinking at least 2 litres of water per day. We can do this ladies.

Hello ladies, apologies for going AWOL recently, I had another week of no loss last week, I think my period hasn’t helped and my body is clearly having a bit of a tantrum in general.
I missed logging my weigh-in on Friday as we’re beginning to start packing up the house. As a military kid who has moved several times over the years, I’m fully aware that getting started early on the packing is always a good idea. I know we have a month or so until the big day, but we’ve made a start and gone through all of our clothes bagging up all the stuff we don’t wear to give to charity shops and making a start on boxing up all the other things we want to keep but won’t necessarily use over the next month. Everything else will either be donated or recycled where possible. It’s a big task, and I have to admit to feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all at times, but it’s got to be done so I’m just trying to plough ahead and get stuff organised whilst working full time.
If I don’t lose any weight over the next month with all this effort and stress, then I’ve got no hope!
It was also a bank holiday weekend here in the UK and we have finally got our sunshine. I’m so happy that the rain and miserable grey skies have finally gone, and we have had some glorious sun over the last few days. It’s finally Summer!
I had a discussion with my partner over the weekend about my weight, and my progress so far, but I’ve not told him how much I actually weigh because, quite frankly, I’m embarrassed that I weigh more than he does, a fit healthy 47 year old man. It's nothing he's said, he's never mentioned my weight at all, he is fully aware of how much I struggled after breaking my back and damaging my knee to get back to some semblance of normality. He's very supportive and encouraging of what i'm doing now, it's just me being silly, but for some reason I just can't bring myself to tell him. So, I’ve made a promise to him that I will tell him when I weigh less than he does (he’s about 175lb), but I think that’s a fair few months off yet….
I will weigh in as usual on Friday, my goal for this month is to get down to 189lb (13 stone 7lb) and if I can do that, I’ll be very pleased. I’m not going to give myself too much of a hard time about daily walks etc as we have too much to do in the house right now, and I will be concentrating on drinking more water and not letting the sunshine make me want to eat lots of ice cream and BBQs.
I love reading everyone’s posts, and I apologise if I don’t have a tendency to reply to many of them, but I take in what each of you write and I celebrate and commiserate along with you all. You’re an amazing bunch, each with your own challenges, and I’m learning a lot from each and every one.
Keep going, we'll all get where we want to be eventually.11 -

Weekly goals:

-Work out 5x per week – 3 cardio & 2 strength
-64 oz of water each day
Ultimately lost 2 lbs last month although I did see a glimpse of 221. These months I haven't gotten to the month's goal weight but I still like to go with it to challenge or even what could be if I have any consistent loss.
Last week was no gym so I could work on weeding the areas that would be affected by my siding project that will be started soon. One bag left and then I get to tackle the remaining corner that isn't near the construction areas.
My "vegetable garden" area is finally weeded so I can start to plant there to see if things will grow. The goal for the house that I never was able to do. So far some of the early seeds have done okay. Had 2 tiny radish that critters got to first. I won't do those again due to little output. Carrot greens are coming on the one I started inside and then planted. Onion might have been gotten by the weeds.
Lot of external food this week but have to go with it and plan as best as possible.
Back to the gym tonight.7 -

I should probably write down my measurements. I checked them last week and I can tell I've gone down 1-2" all around, but would be good to know. Clothes do feel better, though!
Big goal for me this month is consistent exercise, especially strength training. I manage to get cardio in nearly every day, but would like to firm up.

I just completed my monthly measurements and progress pictures. I am down 29 lbs since starting. My pictures didn't reflect as much progress as I had hoped but there have been many other positive changes that I am okay with it. My A1C is in a decent place, my doctor thinks I can eventually come off my medication for diabetes, I am sleeping better, I have more engery, most days (not all) I am averaging 10K steps or higher, my chronic cough has completely gone away, I am not tired all the time, it is easier for me to sit and get up off the ground when playing with my daughter, I don't have the same aches and pains as I did before - now my aches are exercise induced LOL, I am so much happier than I was before, I wake up happy and ready to seize the day, I don't get tired and winded from playing with my daughter outside, I listen to my body, I have finally made time for myself and taking back my life and so much more!
Each measurement decreased unless noted.
Waist: - 1.1 inch
Hips: - 2.2 iches
Right Thigh: - 1 inch
Left Thigh: stayed the same
Bust: - .5 inch
Right Arm: - 1.5 inches
Left Arm: - 1 inch
Neck: stayed the same
My June goal is to keep doing what I am doing - focus on lowing my fasting blood glucose level, losing weight, and exercising regularly. Last month I increased the weight I used for my upper body workout from 3lb weights to 5 lb weights. I plan on keeping that routine at that weight and adding in an abdominal workout.
Here is to a new month and chapter in our journey! I wish you all the best!12 -

I decided to kick off June by increasing my morning walk from my 3.5 mile average to 4 miles. I felt great and could probably walk further if I was willing to get up earlier. I am also going to be setting my my new sit/stand desk in my work from home office. I am hopeful that I can spend more of my workday moving around rather than hunched in my chair in front of the computer.7 -

You might notice that my username is "goal06082021" - 6/8/21 is my 30th birthday and coming right up here soon. I made this account a while back; I changed my username at some point, which you can apparently only do once ever, then fell off the wagon before picking it back up last November. So, obviously, I'm not going to reach whatever my goal was before by that date. I don't even remember now.
My actual goal for June feels a bit ambitious again - although 220 is slightly less ambitious now than it was 4 lbs ago, LMAO. I don't have any weeklong interruptions to my normal routine scheduled for this month, so that should help. Work is back in-person FT as of this week, no more WFH; that should mean I get a little more NEAT on Mondays and Fridays, in theory, since I'll be walking to and from my car, and the walk to get a refill of water is a bit longer at work as well (about a 5-minute round trip up and down stairs, vs 10 steps around my dining table to the kitchen at home, LOL). My birthday is the only potential derailment and I'm keeping it to just 2 days of indulgence, maximum. Hubs and I are going on a just-us birthday dinner date, and my inlaws will want to celebrate over the weekend I'm sure.
I'm also going back to the gym starting this month to do Strong Curves for June and July - it's an 8 week program, I'll see about doing it again or doing another Bret Contreras program for August and beyond when I get there. This week is a "Week 0," my plan is just to figure out how and where to do all the moves at the gym and get an idea of my working weight for each exercise. It's 3 days a week, Monday-Wednesday-Saturday since I need to be at work a little earlier on Friday mornings now. Tuesday and Friday have become yoga days; my intention is to also play some Ring Fit in the evenings on those days, but that's not part of the "official" plan. Maybe I'll add it, I don't know. Thursday and Sunday remain walking/hiking days because I'm really enjoying that - the place I went hiking this past weekend is bisected by a major road, so the plan for 6/6 is to go check out the other part. The map describes the trail there as a "nature trail," which are usually gravel or a raised boardwalk, if not paved, so that bodes well; typically if the path is sand or grass it's a "hiking trail."12 -

My goal is to get under 210 by the end of this month but I’m going to aim high and try for 209! My fitness goal is to ride my Peloton everyday of June and just do a quick 20 minute low impact ride for recovery days. I joined a women’s peloton weight loss group on Facebook and the results are absolutely motivating. Many of the women didn’t see much change in the scale but lost many inches and look great. Hubby has said my butt is looking rounder so that was a confidence booster lol. I have been over weight for several years now with multiple back to back pregnancies. I have 3 kids under 4 so now I’m just trying to get my body back and feel good about myself again. I can finally start to feel a little bit of difference in my clothes but I still have a long way to go.12 -
Hey ladies!
I'm starting again, again. I got so upset looking at what I've gained back this last year and a half after losing weight in 2019 that I've made another account. I've felt so rubbish lately I need to make some changes. So I'm weighing in, cutting back and getting moving. Again.

Hello back again. Just got back from vacation - don't even want to look at the scale. My plan is to log and do the right thing for the month of June, and weigh in at the end of the month. My weight had started to go up again - as people got shots, water appointments got more scarce, so I have been going 2-3 times a week instead of 5 times... and not counting, so. Here I am. I did add some yoga. But Ill be honest, those chips started looking pretty good...pants are feeling a bit tight so I know I gained, need to reverse that.
June,
Goal - log each day in June, stay under 1200 calories of healthy food.
No fried food, fries, or chips in June.
More low cal shakes, veggies and fruit, and lean proteins only.
Long term goal - end of 2021 goal, weight 190lbs. Less than I started this year at.
I'm 48 years old, 5'6 and probably around 217-220. If I'm at 210 at the end of the month I will be happy. My lowest weight after 40 was 195 2 years ago, after losing about 50 lbs...so part of that is creeping up.
My weakness: the people around me who always seem to be hungry, and bringing in food.

@RavenStCloud Thank you for the group.
What are your goals for June? - Remaining active, eating healthy and staying hydrated
How about for the summer as a whole? - Staying hydrated and getting more sunshine
Is there anything you're looking forward to that you missed out on last summer? - Not that I can think of at this time
Any concerns or things that might be a problem this month? - Trying to remain polite to a couple of classmates that seem to be more concerned with what I am doing and eating (being nosy and basically stalking all I am doing) instead of studying for our big exams coming up. 🙄🙄
@CariTJR LOL!! I remembered to update mine too!!!!😀 Good job starting the packing early. I think regardless of a weight drop, you will see changes in your body with all the moving and hauling boxes etc. (weight workouts)!!! Look to lose some inches!!
@VickyEltonGreen Awesome NSVs!!
@JNettie73J Awesome loss and progress so far. You've got this!! Oh!! I saw and accepted your friend request!!
@goal06082021 Nice!! Happy 30th in advance!!!
@sandramarshall200 Sorry you don't feel well. Feel better soon!!
@M0th3rGoose LOL!! I lost my first post as well. Had to switch and type it up in my notepad and then copy and paste!!🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
@jazzadesigns I think meeting 9000 steps is already a workout goal. What types of workouts are you considering or do you think you like?
@holdthefries You are right. You are still here and that is all that matters. The weight can be lost again. 😉

I am 60 yrs old:
SW: 315
CW: 275.5
GW for June: 270
I haven't been consistent on taking measurements but have recently started wearing summer clothes I couldn't last summer so I know I've lost inches, just not sure how many.
My goals for June:
1) Water, water, water
2) Reduce added sugar
3) Protein and a veggie/fruit at every meal
4) no evening snacking
5) add yoga to my weekly activities for flexibility and toning
I am about 2/3 through the process to qualify through my insurance for gastric surgery, has anyone here had it? I'm curious about personal anecdotal experiences. I have some great support in an online group I have joined through Facebook but can use all the information I can get.

Hi ladies
I am stepping out if my comfort zone posting here, but I feel like this could be the group for me. I have been on MFP on and off for a long time, and at 40 I'm learning community and vulnerability are good and necessary! If I haven't let me know if I haven't misunderstood, and it is ok for me to jump on here as a group newbie. I would really like to share support. 💖Best wishes!15 -
@MaryRose1180 Welcome! Just like it says in the OP, you can jump in any time and if you think you belong here, you do! I love this group, it's a good combo of regular updates and just good conversations throughout the month. You don't have to post your full stats block if you aren't ready to share, it's enough that you're here, but we'd all love to cheer you on!
I love seeing all the new faces every month, I hope to continue seeing you all going forward.6 -
@sandielewis2001, I'm right there with you. I was managing my weight ok when I was working in an office as I was up and down stairs and walking every day at lunchtime etc, now I'm working from home I can go days with barely hitting 3k steps, especially through the winter months. I really need to try and move around more during the day.
@uyister, I'm rubbish, I once spent a year thinking I was a year older than I am, it took a friend of mine who was born the same year as me to point out that I wasn't the age I'd been thinking I was.. I don't even know how I managed it, I can count, I work in finance for flips sake! What a total numpty. 😂

I am not much on exercise, but I love yard work and gardening. Bending and lifting and up and down from cleaning out flower beds. I work like a farm hand some days. I told my husband that I was his ole mule!! LOL. Adding that work to exercise entry really adds up. I am disappointed that laying concrete and hanging gutters is NOT listed.
Glad I have found this blog. Its so motivating.
