Ever have one of those moments where you've been doing something because you were told to do it that way. And suddenly you GOT it?
This time, it's a bit of SQL code. I use it relatively frequently and have had several people try to explain how it works to me but I've just had to trust them because I did not get it.
Yesterday, the light came on!
It seems so simple now!
Rhody (our small black cat) is interested in the new chair. LOTS of sniffing going on and an attempt to scratch but I shooed him away. He can go underneath it which pleased him immensely!
In preparation for the arrival of the new chair and with the process of moving stuff, I vacuumed the place, including edges and in behind things. I love a freshly vacuumed house!

Karen - Gorgeous!
This morning I finished the first edit of my memoir.
I still have a bit of work to do and must change some names! I've been a bit inconsistent with that. I have changed the name of the only well-known person, but I think I ought to protect others, who may still be alive. Don't want to get sued. Or hurt their children if they are dead. One good thing about being so old is that a lot of people are dead!
One interesting thing is that, while I was reading through, I came across episodes that, at the time of writing, still made me feel shame to remember. I said so in the book.
I can truly say that the episodes have lost all power over me and I have not given them a thought until I read them again. The power of putting it down on 'paper'. I feel as if they happened to someone else.
I also want to write an Introduction this time. Putting it in context. I had some feedback that it would have been useful for the first volume to do that.
Went for my 5k run first thing. Beautiful day.

So glad your surgery went well and that your recovery is on track. Many thoughts for traveling grace as you make your way to go to your mother's to bring her home with you.Whidislander wrote: »Son and 5 others were found guilty of not wearing their masks, but no disciplinary actions taken. Nothing put in his record. Husband and I both breathing a sigh of relief. 💖🍀👍
We need to go out and celebrate!! Rebecca

Such good news - hope you all did go out and celebrate!

Your absence will speak volumes this morning as you head for the doctors, I'm sure.

Love your morning meditation walk image...
Weird, angsty day yesterday - one of those where you feel as if you're spinning in circles without accomplishing much. The blood cortisol levels were normal from the test on Wednesday, which is good.
Still trying to recover from finishing the quilt, and to start figuring out the next two or three designs.
Later, y'all,
Love,

Happy Friday, everyone!
Happy Birthday, Evelyn!
Karen VA- Oh my stars! Beautiful grandchildren! That Olivia! The pink outfit, with boots and the bandaid on her knee (evidence of a rough and tumble life)! So sweet!
Lisa- ((Levi )) I am a sucker for a "pouty face"! The word NO is so hard to come to grips with. lol
Michele- I agree with Penny! Consider that time as your starting time. You are not in a race with anyone. You are just walking to better your own fitness. As you get more fit/more used to the walk, your time will improve! Don't push it, though. That is how you injure yourself. Let it happen naturally!
Rebecca- Well, that is good news about your son!
Well, I am ending my week with some of my kiddos back and the others now, home and not feeling well. On the upside, the three littlest ones (ages 18 mos and two 2 year olds) are not here, today. That means all of my kiddos are between the ages of 3 and 6. One of my four year olds was in a car accident last Saturday and she has been home with a concussion all week. Just heard from her mom and the whole family has the flu! Blech! A car accident is never a good thing; but hopefully, the fact that she hasn't been in my care since last Friday, will mean that the flu bug will NOT be making its rounds through my childcare families! Our Monarchs are now pretty fat and (as the three year old says) "juicy". They should be making their way to the top of the enclosure for their next stage: chrysalis! So exciting!
Just found out that grandbaby #3 is a BOY! lol My daughter is surrounded by males. OF course any disappointment of it not being a girl, faded away instantly, as the thoughts of another son/grandson filled our minds. Miguel will be moving into Joaquin's room. They will be getting the boys a low bunk bed and the wall deco will be split; the Little Prince deco on two walls for Joaquin and the Babar deco on the other two walls for Miguel (for now). Lauren and I were talking and in a year or so, if they are in the same house, we will paint the boys room and give it an outdoor theme and "tent" the bunkbeds. New baby will get his own room and it will be decorated with Eric Carle artwork, books, bedding, toys, etc..
I will try to log in very early tomorrow morning, as DYS (Colin) and I will be traveling to Detroit (four hour drive) to see the Beyond VanGogh immersive exhibit, the Jim Henson exhibit, and also hiking some trails to see some Native American Petraglyphs. It is going to be an early morning and a late night; but should be lots of fun.
Love and hugs to all! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)

Some vertigo this morning ugh ,im sure that and kalidiscope vision is connected somehow..
Karen- what adorable grandkids, looks like they are having a fine time.
KJ - how exciting another boy..i must say they are much easier to raise than girls..
Tracy and Kyle wont find out to mid to late August what the gender is ,they will get the 3d ultrasound done. Im sure they are hoping for a boy but will be happy with a healthy baby..from what the doc says has a nice strong heartbeat.
Have been on Tracy to schedule the first vaccine for Taliah so that she can get her second one before school starts1 -

Funny story.
I was running back from the seafront and was approaching the deli. The owner stopped me and told me he had finally obtained the Toulouse sausages I had been asking for. I put my mask on and went inside to buy some. Decided on a couple of packets as I'd been waiting a while. The daughter behind the till saw me coming (masked) and said, "Finally, Toulouse sausages! "
So now I think I'm known as The Toulouse Sausage Lady.
I use them to make a dish from skinnytaste.com with cabbage and sauerkraut. It's instead of Polish sausage, which I can't get locally. These are very similar. Already cooked.
They are nothing like the real Toulouse sausages you buy in France. Not cooked.

KJ Congratulations!
Just left doctor. Other than LDL being high, I am healthy.🙂 cholesterol bloodwork in 3 months to make sure I am getting it going back in the proper direction. Gave me sample of new migraine medicine to try. Log foods, drinks, weather, feelings when they come on. Minimize my nut intake. Keep up on vitamin Bs.
Yes, i am keeping you informed, but also delaying going to work😒 It will all be there when I get there, just waiting on me.
Oh!!! Scale down 2 lbs this morning! Woohoo! Amazing what better food choices will do.
Happy that you all are here for each other!
❤

I was going to meet a friend this morning for an outing and then DrewB threw up as I was getting ready to go. There was grass in it. So I will have to watch that with her. The other suggestion was to feed her later in the evening. She does get a peanut butter chew before bed. Maybe that is too rich for her and I should go for a light snack for her.
Wasp stings are red and swollen today. I do feel tired, so maybe for the best I stayed home today. Someone looking at the one on my arm might think I had celulitis or Lymes disease.
After looking up symptoms am calling my doctor about symptoms.6 -
Barbara – Our microwave & oven combination died after more than 20 years of use. We ordered a new one. The installer was booked for weeks so DH bought an inexpensive microwave to use to use while waiting. We got a very good deal on it at Walmart. We plan to donate that one to the senior center thrift store or someone in need. The 20 year-old original microwave & oven set was hauled away the other day and the new set has been installed. It is wonderful to have our kitchen working well again.
Rebecca – Good news that your son and others will not face charges for failing to wear their masks.
(((Kylia))) – Too bad your SIL can’t be transported far beyond the northern sea. :ohwell:
Karen -- What a lovely photo of the children and Grand-pere on the boat.
Evelyn – HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
Margaret – I am so sorry that you’ve had wasp stings. I hop you’re able to heal quickly. :flowerforyou:
I am knitting a baby blanket for our unborn grandson and I am running low on the yarn that I am using. I’ve located some about thirty miles from here and will be heading out to get it in a while. I hope to get DH to go with me, but that is iffy and it is likely he won’t go. :ohwell:

Yes, we dodged the bullet! Husband and I have never been interwoven with anyone, like we are with our eldest. His career affects us, and though its nice to be able to live the way we do, in a bigger house, it is scary. I like the opportunity to help him, and he helps us, but on the other side of the coin, there's an underlining stress about it.
We watched the final day of Sumo Wrestling. Hakuho won! We were so happy, lots of yelling and cheering going on! Its 15 days of daily bouts that happen every quarter. We had taped the last week of bouts, from the NHK channel. Towards the end of the tournament those wrestlers are SPENT!
This week I did not exercise. My knee is still really sore, so I told husband no. I don't feel bad about it, and I will try next week!
Allie, so sorry you have vertigo! I empathize with you!!! No fun!

Katla what a pain to run out of yarn. I used to knit with my ex husbands handspun yarn. He was good for one thing! But I never could tell how far the yarn would go. Lots of my projects had funny stripes at the tail end! Lol!
My car passed the registration inspection! Yay! I was worried about the exhaust. It was fine, except it took me a minute to find the brights on the headlights. I don't drive much at night anymore. So relieved to have that done.
Next is groceries and then cook dinner. My mom is feeling ill again. I bet there is medicine that would help her but she won't get treated. It's a digestive issue.

I spent about an hour this afternoon researching how to post on Instagram and whether I need a creator or business account. Ooohhhh! I'm trying not to get overwhelm and to take things easy. No rush. Anything is better than nothing! Being an absolute beginner is exciting and scary.
I found a word for what I feel I am doing in my memoir, for myself and others who have been through similar troubles.
Mender.
I like that word.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx3 -
I’m ready for a change. I love it here but love to travel. We will see how long it goes before we need to move. Gonna stick it out for a while.
Going to continue subbing and save up for new tires and any other unexpected issues that may crop up.

TINA who is the pop singer? Do you have a teen or pre-teen handy?
Sorry for the delay. I took a few days off to galavant around Los Angeles. The singer is Harry Styles. He used to be a member of the boy group One Direction. I don't have a pre-teen or teen handy or I would take him/her.

I love the camaraderie I see on this thread....and especially the adorable kid pics!
I'm so ready for the weekend but it will be busy. We are having friends over for dinner tonight. I found it really challenging to cook healthy when having barbecue but I have saved up for it. Tomorrow is a day with the Bigs....my two oldest grandkids...age 5 and 9. I will be ready for rest by the time they leave!
