Morning ladies
Yes I enjoy seeing my son,and i dont mind taking him to work but with it being 6 out of 7 days and only 4 hrs a day,it doesnt cramp how i can plan my week..i think it would be better to find a car for him so be can get out and about easier than having to rely on me...
He is working 2-6 today3 -

Sending Blessings to all of my US friends today! We have a glorious, neighborhood parade, bags tourney and bbq along our little block that's been going on for over 20 years!
Spent yesterday with our daughter, family and friends. GREAT food, fun and AWESOME (totally "legal") fireworks. (LOL... yeah, we're in one of "those" states) GAWD, I LOVE the 4TH!!!

Sharon - It is good to see you posting again.
Tracey - Thanks for the Happy Independence Day.
(((Flea))) – Praying for your successful treatment & recovery.
(((Carol))) - I am sorry your eye surgery was difficult, and they were slow at providing eye drops. I hope the next treatment is better, and the cataract surgery goes well. :flowerforyou: I agree with Sue in WA. It would be good if you could take someone with you to the next appointment.
Machka – I like the “it’s the small habits.” Thanks for sharing. It makes good sense. :flowerforyou:
Kylia - Happy Sunday & Happy 4th of July!
Heather – So sorry that your friend is in the hospital with lung cancer. I hope things go in his favor. :flowerforyou:
Minicooper –Thanks for the Happy Fourth of July flag!

I just went outside to take a look of our Fuchsia basket. It is not looking pretty but I trimmed of a bunch of dead leaves and some are hanging onto life. It is in the shade and has water. Maybe it will survive and maybe not. I replaced it with a geranium basket that is pretty.
I hope to see Fourth of July Fireworks this evening. We have not been home for the fireworks for many years because the noise frightened our dog. Schooner passed away and we miss him. He won’t miss the fireworks and we hope to enjoy them this year.

Carol - much support and good wishes for positive outcomes coming your way. I'm sorry you had such a bad time!
Sharon/Trucker - glad to see your happy face again. Hope all continues well.
Heather - I'm sorry about your old friend. Hope he conquers the pneumonia.
Karen - Your granddaughter has your mouth - in fact, so do your grandson and your son. Nice-looking family.
I was going to say I was having a lazy Sunday in progress, but I ripped out and re-sewed the bottom rail of the quilt, and then mowed the lawn while Corey burned the brush... Oh, and got the laundry done. So not as lazy as I thought.
I feel ... better today. Cautiously better, but better. Morning's are always better than afternoons, so we'll see... first a shower to get all the weed shmutz out of my hair, then hiding from the afternoon heat with a book.
Later,
Love,

Had two awesome days at the UFO Festival here this Friday and Saturday. We have a co-host Bob who encouraged us to go. DH went with us Friday night and we had a good time. Next day Bob and I went in the morning and started the scavenger hunt through town. About noon DH decided he wanted to come, so we went back and picked him up. He was quiet and Bob and I rushed him throughout the town for the hunt which I know would not have happened had DH gone alone with me. We had an awesome time! Did 14000 steps yesterday!

Ouf!! We had a lovely picnic at my aunt's house across the street. I ate plenty to count for lunch and dinner and maybe breakfast too. They were celebrating a new grill.
I have plans to eat out Tuesday and Wednesday so it won't be a weight loss week. I will shoot for maintenance.
Happy 4th to all in the US,

I see a lot of posts about fireworks on here this time of year. I just had to share.

Happy 4th to those in the US. We seem to not have quite as many fireworks being set off as usual. I hope this continues through the evening. So far none of the animals seem anxious.
DD did not make it home last night. She is flying standby and was at first given a seat and then told there was not enough room. The plane was late and the crew even later. Some kind of crazy mix up. Oh well, she says things look good for tonight. I sure hope so. Good thing she has tomorrow off.
I was liturgist at church this morning. Had to get up early to get critters fed and watered before I went. No idea what dinner will be tonight as I thought DD would be here. Just have to punt I guess. I have some rotisserie chicken in the fridge so maybe will put some of that on a salad.
Everyone take care Sue in WA4 -
Snowflacke — Brilliant! Our little town will shoot off fireworks this evening. Take cover if you are nearby NW Oregon.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️0

Tracey …. Love the meme!
Carol … your eye procedure sounds horrendous…. Praying that the next phase goes much better!
Today is my birthday … it has been a difficult day missing my son. Hard to celebrate when he’s not here.
Asked my husband and younger son to take off the pool cover for my birthday and open the pool tomorrow. The expensive solid loop-loc cover was the heaviest most difficult cover we’ve ever owned. And here I was hoping in would make opening and closing the pool easier. It was a disaster. The only positive outcome is that my husband now agrees that we will need to hire someone in the future.
Our neighbors are setting off fireworks in the daylight… which I don’t understand. Cecil, 7-1/2 month old lab doesn’t seem to fazed though.
Margaret … some of my Zucchini now are rotting … others look good. I’m thinking they’re just too stressed because I’ve never had problems in the past. Everything else in buckets is growing beautifully.

Did Yoga for Weight Loss DVD then went for a walk. Work tomorrow so no formal exercise.
Tracey – what a cute sign and so appropriate
Barbara – I like your long posts. They show that you really do read them all, even if you don’t respond to each one. Plus...sometimes I miss things and someone else commenting on them brings it to the forefront for me.
Kymaria – I would come to work for you in a heartbeat if only you were in NC. I remember one time I was doing something for a customer and I turned around and saw that the frozen food doors were a mess, fingerprints everywhere. So...I had a few extra minutes so I cleaned them. Then I was told “well, we have someone who cleans them”. You may have someone who cleans them, but evidently it wasn’t getting done so I did it. Isn’t that the definition of a team player? If I need to, I fully intend to bring this up.
Heather – I absolutely hate when I break a glass. No matter how hard you clean, there are always pieces of glass somewhere. You find them for weeks afterward.
KJ _ I never thought of it, you made me, but I wonder if the fireworks bother my neighbor any. He’s the one who came back from Afghanistan. Interesting……
On my walks I’ve decided that if I can, what I’ll start doing just on my morning walk is frequently run for maybe something like 6 seconds. Then probably walk for 10 minutes...lol
minicooper – we used to live in PA which isn’t one of “those” states. Interestingly...the guy next door to us was a State Trooper and the guy next to him was a sheriff. You should have seen the fireworks display they put on!!!
M – Australia has the longest fence in the world. What is it used for?
Karen VA – what a lovely family you have!
Went for my evening walk then played mahjongg with my feet in the spa.
RV Rita – I am soooooo jealous. Glad you had such a good time. If I ever get to NM, I’ll be there
Sue WA – we don’t seem to have as many fireworks being set off, either. I had heard (I don’t know how true this is) that there is a shortage of fireworks since they mainly come from China
Beth – happy birthday from Earth and Heaven
Better get ready for bed.

Beth the excess heat we are having and the lack of calcium can cause the zuchanni can rot on the vine too. Now that you are giving them more calcium it should help with this.2

The new Action for Happiness Calendar is out ...
https://www.actionforhappiness.org/jump-back-up-july
This month's theme: Jump Back Up July
This month's theme is all about resilience and understanding how we can build skills that will help us to bounce back. We can't always predict or control what life throws at us, but we can build a range of skills and nurture our resources to help us respond flexibly, effectively deal with challenges, recover more quickly and even learn and grow as a result. We'd love you to share our calendar below with it's suggestions for how to build resilience this month.

Hi B3tybo72, you young thing, and welcome!
Stick with us and you'll get lots of new angles on weight loss, but also on life and health in general. You'll find plenty of help and encouragement (but no religion or politics, please). Many of us don't do the friends thing, but that doesn't mean we aren't friendly!
Hit the outline of the star at the top (above the magnifying glass) to bookmark the thread. Or you can simply go to Message Boards / Motivation and Support and look through the first few discussions. This thread moves so fast we're always near the top of the list.
We'd appreciate if you could sign your posts with an easier name than B3tybo72 and a general location. It helps us keep track of each other.

It's been glorious weather at our island place and we've accomplished some of the things we had to do. We hilled the potatoes, cut the high grass, set up the protective fiber cloth tents over the vegetable beds — and I finally got out jogging again. What with the move, I only ran once all last week. It was hot (for me) at about 75°F but the breeze off the fjord kept me cool. Put in my fastest time in nearly two years!
When the necessary work was done, we got our barbecue going and grilled jalapeño-marinated chicken, halloumi, and slices of overripe pineapple. It was a tad weird, but in our rush to get out to the island on Friday, we forgot a big bag of groceries and were forced to make do with what we happened to have on hand. We also forgot most of the cords needed to set up my husband's computer screens. We're going back to town today to collect them and whatever else we need for a good long stay out here.
For the newbies, here's the place I'm talking about, located in far northern Norway. The picture was taken from partway up the mountain to our west.
Our house is a white spot surrounded by trees left of the end of the road. That's also the road I jog on. There's very little traffic. I meet more sheep than cars.
Carol - I'm so sorry about your experiences during the eye procedure. I understand your apprehension about going back for the next one. Hopefully, if you tell the ophthalmologist what you went through, he/she can adjust the anesthetics so you don't have to feel the operation.

Bonus: one load of wash, 5 mins tidying,

Jump back July:
5-Get the basics right: eat well, exercise and go to bed on time. Prep those veggies, plan activities, and pray the neighbors are out of fireworks.
Lots of booms, sometimes intermittent, sometimes a fusillade. Dogs madly barking “Warning! Danger!” woke us up. Letting them outside was worse, bark bark BARK! Back in the house, they quieted so long as I was up and acting as if those noises were no big deal. Soon as I try to go back to bed, they’re both hypervigilant again. It’s going to be a long night.
Machka, door, floor, scrubbing is hard work! Loved hearing that you colored and played with Rhody. Restorative!
Katla thanks for the Alaska fish fertilizer hint, would love to see a pic of your jar/dilution/timer setup.
Hope your fuchsia bounces back.
Heather sending healing, strengthening, comforting energy to your friend, his family and you.
Margaret hooray. We have an abundance of spruce needles, now I know I can use them to mulch the acidic loving plants.
Kylia what KJ said. Your DH will never understand how much you contribute until you don’t.
Karen great smiles in that pic!
Allie (((hugs)))
Rita seeing you smile and hearing about your fun day.
Tracey that “…you wouldn’t trust with a glow stick” meme made me snort my cocoa!
Belated best birthday wishes to you Beth.
Michele not just fireworks will be in short supply. The pandemic has wreaked havoc on our distribution systems. Containers at anchor cannot discharge as terminals are congested due to shortage of truck and rail capacity mostly due lack of labor. This article starts out with a shout out to Rebecca’s Whidbey Island. Welcome @B3tybo72 in Auckland!
Penny would you share your jalapeno marinade recipe? Your grilled dinner sounds yummy to me. Is that a creek running across your property between your house and the road… or am I looking at the wrong white dot?
Yesterday I went and sat with Joe in the man cave and watched a TCM documentary on Garbo he’d recorded. Today he came out and sat in the living room with me, and actually chatted while I combed Tumble. What a great reward and encouragement for me to invest more time/attention to him.
Stumbled across this, hope it brings a chuckle:
