Zzyyggy, I almost forgot about Betty’s pie recipes. Gasp! 😮 Okay, I did forget, but Key Lime Pie will be good for breakfast. Or would Pumpkin Cheescake Pie be better? While I decide, I’m going to sit by the fire in the dining room alcove. Igor lit a fire because it’s a bit chilly this morning. Sweetie made beef stew for dinner last night. It was so good. I could have some of that for breakfast, as well.

Hi Linda, I think I've seen that recipe before. I keep bisquick around because I use it for a lot of different recipes especially their easy cheeseburger pie. That's so good. I also use it for pancakes and biscuits. For dinner tonight I would love a porterhouse steak cooked on the grill with a baked potato and corn on the cob. A coca cola with that please. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies, and an iced mocha. As far as the jello is concern I think I only liked it with the whipped cream, or cool whip. I'll eat out on the terrace tonight.

Hi Zzyyggy. I liked making biscuits either with Bisquick or from scratch, but Sweetie likes baking frozen Pillsbury biscuits. He makes eggs and bacon or sausage with a biscuit most mornings. I don’t tolerate eggs and pork well. As a kid, I only liked the orange jello with grated carrots in it. I remember scraping the jello off the carrots and just eating the sweetened carrots. Perhaps Mom should have just sugared raw carrots for me?

I ordered one of those cute little chocolate Bundt cupcakes for dessert and Viktor brought more iced coffees out to the table. Francois did make another one of Betty’s pies this evening. I’ll have it for breakfast at the cybercafe’s Sunday Brunch tomorrow.

Hi Linda, we had another gorgeous day today. Lots of sunshine, and low temps. Spent the morning doing laundry, writing, and puttering. Did three loads of laundry, changed my sheets and trash, and cleaned the bathroom. Also did an online grocery order. Got outside in the afternoon for some reading and a walk. I'm pooped. For dinner tonight I would love the Sunday lasagna with garlic bread, a salad, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have a slice of apple pie with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha. I'll eat down by the beach tonight after a quick dip in the ocean and then the boys have set up a cabana down there for watching the sunset. After dinner there will be a bonfire with s'mores and more iced mochas.

Hi Zzyyggy. It was a beautiful day here, too. The humidity was low, there was a nice breeze so it felt comfortable even at 85 degrees. Your day was far more productive than mine. I napped for hours today because I didn’t sleep well last night. I didn’t want to miss an evening on the beach watching the sunset and making s’mores. I think Viktor makes the best iced mochas.

Hi Linda I am in the mood for a bacon cheeseburger with fries, and a root beer. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies, and an iced mocha. Yes Viktor does make the best mochas. I'm pooped to day but it was so nice out I managed to get a walk to the library in, and then some reading outside. I'll eat out on the terrace tonight.

Hi Zzyyggy. I’ve been seeing lots of recipes for pancakes online lately which makes me automatically want pancakes, but after giving this some thought I’ve decided I’d prefer a cheeseburger 🍔. Fries would be good, too. I can’t decide between one of Costco’s giant chocolate chip cookies or some warm, crisp chocolate chip cookies straight from the oven. We have a local steakhouse that makes the best burgers. Of course, right now Sweetie is putting chicken in the fridge to defrost for tomorrow’s dinner.

Hi Linda, that's what I'm having for dinner tonight is Chicken. That's in the real world. For the Cyber cafe I think I'll have the roast beef grinder with the works along with bacon, and cheddar cheese. A bag of potato chips and a coca cola with that please. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies with an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the terrace again. It was another gorgeous day today. We really do need the rain though.

Hi Zzyyggy. The chicken Sweetie made for dinner tonight was delicious. It’s a simple recipe I’ve used for years: chicken tossed with a little olive oil and your favorite herbs, then baked. I like to use herbs de Provence and garlic. Sweetie chose oregano and basil this time and I made a vegetable medley for a side. So good 😋.

We’ve had more rain here in Charlotte than you’ve had in Burlington. We had 12 inches of rain in the first two weeks of August, but it hasn’t rained since. At this point we’re not in a drought, although we will be soon. The drought monitor map shows Burlington in severe drought. Our weather has been really wonderful lately, but the temperature is heading up to 90 degrees by Friday.

Time for dessert at the cybercafe! Is it time for Betty’s Boston Cream Pie? I want some with extra chocolate and whipped cream and coffee. Viktor has been putting birthday candles on my desserts because it’s still my birthday month. I wonder if I can get Sweetie to take me out for another birthday dinner. Maybe I could get that cheeseburger I’ve been craving 😄.

Hi Linda, I'm pooped tonight. It was cloudy most of the day today, but still no rain. Haven't done much of anything all day. Hi LInda, Yes those were lovely northern lights. I've had the good fortune of seeing them twice. Both times at summer camp on Lake Champlain. For dinner tonight I'm going to have my go to bacon cheeseburger with onion rings, and a root beer this time around. For dessert I'll have some brownies, and an iced mocha. I have a box of brownie mix unopened in the cupboard mmmmmm. Lets eat out on the terrace again. We had a perfect summer's day out there. I just got back from a walk. I have to go earlier now as the sun is going to bed earlier these days.

Hi Zzyyggy. It’s National Cheeseburger Day so your order was perfect for today. Let’s have cheeseburgers all around. Yum, brownies for dessert. I like my brownies iced and Francois makes wonderful frosting right here at the cybercafe. And here’s Viktor with our iced coffees. Brownie mixes can be a problem for me because I want to eat too many brownies. I like to freeze brownies individually. Freezing them doesn’t help me with portion control because I’ve discovered that frozen brownies are really good.

We had a nice day today, but it went up to 87 degrees and Friday and Saturday are supposed to be near 90 degrees. Oh, well. Sunset southeast of Charlotte was at 7:23 this evening. Still, I’ve noticed it gets darker earlier and I end up closing up the blinds and curtains by 6:50 because otherwise, people can see straight through our house.

Well, shoot, I just realized I have a pile of socks I dumped on my side of the bed that I have to match and put away before bedtime. Somehow I managed to get off schedule and laundry day is every day this week. Tomorrow it’s towels—much worse than socks.

Hi Linda, tomorrow Saturday will be laundry day for me as well. I hadn't even read about national cheeseburger day. I've just been craving cheeseburgers and bacon lately. My favorite place to go Beansies has closed for the Summer. They are a food bus located in the park next door to me. For dinner tonight I would love some grilled swordfish with lots of butter, a baked potato, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some klondike bars with an iced mocha. I wonder if they have national iced mocha day. Maybe I'll ask google and see what day it is. If not I'll invent a day. I'll eat out on the terrace tonight.

September 29 is international iced mocha day. I wonder if Starbucks will give away a small free one. September 29 is next Monday. We'll have to remember that.

Hi Zzyyggy. I asked the Google AI about National Coffee Day and google said National Coffee Day is on September 29. Starbucks does celebrate National Coffee Day, but you’d have to check your local Starbucks for any deals. Unfortunately, Starbucks does not celebrate National/International Iced Mocha Day. I don’t know why they wouldn’t. Everyone needs this. Perhaps they could have a free iced mocha day once a month?

It was 90 degrees today. We were out doing some chores, but it didn’t feel that hot, mostly because the humidity was really low. However, I saw people walking around with hoodies on and it was definitely too hot for that. It was a gorgeous day. Some of the leaves on the trees are starting to change. A couple of our neighbors have crabapple trees—they look pretty in the spring when they bloom, but by mid September they always look like they’re dying. Their leaves just turn brown and fall off. Autumn is here.

I ordered an iced mocha for dessert. I’m planning on reading my book out here on the terrace this evening where there are no nightly news reports or videos with political insights. I’ve never been big on vacations or camping or theme parks (shudder), but I would like a vacation from television, computers, and telephones. I’ll keep my IPad though, so I can read my ebooks or play my favorite solitaire games.

Hi Linda, I'm right there with you on the break from the news. A day off from computers except for my kindle where all my books are. We had a good day here but on the cooler side at 68 degrees. I did get outside for a bit, and got in a walk. For dinner tonight I could go for a prime rib with baked potato, salad, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies with an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the terrace tonight, and read a long with you. One of the nice things about the cyber cafe is that there are bugs to annoy us. September 29 is a week from Monday. We'll have to remember that. Yeah I wonder why Starbucks doesn't have a discount. Dunkin donuts and McDonald's probably do. I love Dunkin's iced coffee.

Oh, hi, Zzyyggy. I came for Sunday Brunch at the Cybercafe. Sweetie’s out mowing the lawn and I thought it would be the perfect time for brunch. Viktor brought out my coffee and a basket of pastries for me to enjoy while I decide whether to order breakfast or lunch. I could order one of those amazing omelets Francois makes or a chicken Milanese sandwich on a ciabatta roll. 🤔 I think I’ll go for the sandwich. Does the basket of pastries count as dessert if you eat the pasties before the sandwich?

It’s lovely out here on the terrace. I can sit under the trees in the shade and read my book. And, yes, I love the fact that I can enjoy sitting outside by the pool or on the terrace without bugs or pollen to annoy me.

Hi Linda, I think I'll stick to chicken soup tonight. Francois of course makes the best. I'm so stuffed up right now, and have a soar throat. I haven't tested for Covid yet. I went outside for a little bit earlier, but have mainly been in bed sleeping. I think I'll feed the cat, change her water and go back to bed. I'll have bread, and butter with that chicken soup and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce and an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the terrace and enjoy the sunshine. It was nice and sunny here in the real world.

Oh no, Zzyyggy, I’m sorry you’re feeling sick. This is what happens when Beansies closes up. It was a beautiful day here in the Charlotte area. They said the high was 87 degrees, but there was a cool, dry wind blowing and it felt real nice. It’s getting late and I’ll be heading off to bed soon. I figured a cup of tea and some lemon shortbread would be a nice treat to end the day with. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Hi Linda, I think I've figured out why I've been so stuffed up in the morning. I sleep with either the air conditioner on or the fan. Last night I turned off both and used my noise machine. I didn't wake up stuffed up. I'm going to try that tonight although it's suppose to be humid tonight so I might need the AC on. I am feeling better today. Got a walk in, and enjoyed the first official fall day outside for a bit. It's been nice again all day. For dinner tonight I'm going to have some grilled chicken, Francois has set up the barbecue grills outside with corn on the cob, potato salad, a coca cola and dinner rolls. For dessert I'll have some brownies and an iced mocha. I'll enjoy it out on the terrace. I can't seem to stay inside these days.

I’m glad you’re feeling better, Zzyyggy. I have found that having the ceiling fan on at night gives me problems. We don’t open our windows—either the air conditioning or the heat is on. In the southeast the humidity overnight in the summer is generally over 90%. I don’t want to bring that kind of humidity into the house.

Dinner at the cyber was delicious this evening. I’m going to to finish up my brownie and iced mocha and call it a night.

Hi Linda, we finally got some rain today. A good soaking rain all day. It was so nice to see. The grass trees, and flowers are just soaking it up. I got in a swim early this morning, but haven't gotten out for a walk yet. For dinner tonight I would love the meatloaf platter with mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, peas, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have a slice of apple pie with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha. I'll enjoy the terrace again, and bask in the sunshine.

Hi Zzyyggy. Well, since it’s 9:56 pm I’ll have to bask in the starlight on the terrace this evening. I asked Sweetie what he wanted me to order for his dessert. He wants chocolate mousse with vanilla ice cream on it and topped with four maraschino cherries. 🍒🍒So specific. Viktor said he’d bring it straight out to the Club Room where Sweetie is watching the news. I’ve already raided the ice cream freezer out here in the gazebo for dessert. Viktor stocked some of the double caramel Magnum Bars. 😋

Hi Linda, I'm pooped. Just got home from a late Physical Therapy session, and it was rough. So it's going to be dinner and then bed. Hi Zzyyggy. It’s a macaroni and cheese kind of day. Sweetie and I had macaroni and cheese for dinner, mostly because I didn’t have anything else prepared. I made a cup of coffee with cream and sugar for dessert and Francois made Betty’s Pecan Pie Upside-Side Down Cake today. I couldn’t resist that, even if it is only virtual.

Viktor says the massage therapist is on call if you’re interested and there’s medicinal chocolate if needed. I find that the fuzzy bunny slippers and the soft fleece blankets provided at the cybercafe are very comforting. It’s a lovely night out here on the terrace—a perfect place to relax after a busy day. Our weather forecast in the Charlotte area shows scattered rain storms over the next week. We haven’t had rain for 7 weeks, so rain would be good. Today’s high was 92 degrees and it was hot. Tomorrow (Thursday) the weather will be the same, but we’re expecting rain tomorrow night.

Hi Linda, the message therapist sounds great, and the medicinal chocolate is just what I need today. We had clouds and rain all day. I went for my 6:00 am swim and that felt so good. I was up and out of the house before my inner thought monster knew what was happening. For dinner tonight I'm going for a bucket of KFC original recipe, mashed potatoes, biscuits, and corn on the cob with a coca cola. For dessert I'll have a slice of devil's food cake with chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce and an iced mocha. How's that for chocolate therapy. Hi Zzyyggy. Mmm, I love chocolate therapy. I like chocolate covered caramels. Russell Stover caramels were a part of every holiday when I was a kid. Now there’s Werther’s and Riesen chocolate covered caramels. I can’t decide what I like better. They would all taste delicious when paired with an iced mocha. (Viktor is bringing some out for me.) It was hot today—a nice cool drink would be perfect. Things will cool down tomorrow. For the next 7 days they’re calling for rain. I’m watching these storms in the Atlantic and wondering if either of them are heading toward North Carolina.

Zzyyggy, it’s National Pancake Day! Sadly, I’m not making pancakes for dinner. We’re having sun dried tomato chicken with sweet and spicy beans—sweet red peppers, spicy poblano peppers, and sweet onions caramelized with tomato paste, and beans. I could always order pancakes for dessert. I’ll have to ask Chef Francois if he would make fried apple topping for the pancakes. Okay, now I’m seriously craving that.

Of course, if you’re still needing chocolate, you could order chocolate chip pancakes stacked with Nutella filling and topped with a generous amount of maple syrup or chocolate sauce. Well, chocolate sauce might be going too far.

Hi Linda, I wish I had known that before I started my dinner in the real world. I will have a stack of blueberry pancakes here though with sausages, and lots of maple syrup. We had a gorgeous day here in the real world. Got out for a quick walk and did a load of laundry. I still have to fold and put it away. Igor and his helper have started with the Halloween decor around here. He's strung up some black and orange lights. I asked him to wait on turning the pool water black and orange. He's planning on carving about 20 pumpkins a day until the 30th for a record. Lets see if he makes it.
