Hi Zzyyggy. I ordered salmon, garlic mashed potatoes, and green beans almondine for dinner. I saw lemon bars in the bakery case and I had to order some with a glass of iced tea. Sweetie wants Betty’s Peanut Butter-Chocolate Swirl Bundt Cake for dessert with an iced coffee. I might just make some beef stew tomorrow night. I don’t think I have a beef roast for pot roast. The high today was 66 degrees by my thermometer, although the weather app says the high was 69 degrees (maybe at the airport in Monroe?). It’s cooler in the house and the next two days are supposed to be in the 60’s, as well. Our overnight temperatures are in the 50’s, while yours are in the 30’s and 40’s. I have a feeling the heat’s going to be coming on in my house tonight.

It’s a good night to hang out in the Club Room here at the cybercafe. Sweetie says he wants to go listen to some jazz at the cybercafe’s Speakeasy. If you remember there’s a secret staircase by the pool into the underground Speakeasy. To enter it looks like you’re actually going into the pool. I’m still going to the Club Room. I’ll read my book and enjoy my dessert.

Hi Linda, Have you checked out the Cafe's corn maze yet. I'm pooped from walking it this afternoon. If you can't find your way out just send up a signal and one of the boys will come get you complete with whatever drink your heart desires. Igor came with an iced mocha for me because I was completely turned around. For tonight's dinner I'll have a porter house steak grilled to perfection with a baked potato and corn on the cob. A coca cola with that please. For dessert I'm going to have an apple crisp with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha. Tomorrow I think we should explore the cyber farm on the horse and wagon complete with pumpkins, apple cider, and pick your own apples.

Hi Zzyyggy. I’m really good at getting lost. Truly, I’m a dyslexic map reader and I easily get turned around. I’ll need a navigator to help me get through the corn maze. Sweetie and I made stew for dinner. It was delicious 😋. Sweetie ordered apple pie with vanilla ice cream topped with caramel sauce for both of us for dessert. Viktor said he’ll be right out with a pot of coffee for us and another iced mocha for you. Tomorrow on the cyberfarm sounds fun. Don’t forget the cider donuts!

Today the high was 66 degrees. It was cloudy all day and we should have rain overnight. We’ll see. It was pretty windy today and Sweetie and I were running around the garage trying to chase a hummingbird back outside. Apparently, the hummingbird flew in when it was starting to get dark on Friday night. The Sweetie finished up his chores outside and unknowingly closed the hummingbird in the garage. We finally managed to shoo the bird out. I’m not sure it will survive after being without food and water for 22 hours. Sweetie says the bird will be fine.

Hi Linda, what a work out that must have been. There have been a round of requests on our Front porch forum to check all sheds, garages etc for cats or dogs who might wander in. My question to these owners is why let your pet wander in the first place. I know quite a few are escape artists. I'm starving tonight. We had another gorgeous day out there today and I went out for a long walk. I also folded, and put away 3 loads of clean laundry phew. I just got through doing some of my physical therapy balancing exercises. Once I get started I'm fine. For dinner tonight I would love a Sunday spiral ham with scalloped potatoes, fresh string beans, lots of dinner rolls, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some klondike bars and an iced mocha. That wagon ride through the cyber farm was fun wasn't it? Mrs. Marley's offspring are multiplying we'll need to thin some out soon. I'll eat out on the terrace tonight.

Hi Zzyyggy. We don’t leave the garage open unless we’re out there and it’s unusual for birds to fly in, but it happens. I think I’d rather have a bird than a snake. There are lots of black king snakes in our area. We had one on our front porch taking a nap on a chair. I assume he ate one of the lizards that like to hang around and then needed that nap. And we’ve found snake skins in the yard. We do have a couple of cats that come by to visit every so often. Our neighbors don’t let their dogs wander, so if we see them loose it wasn’t on purpose. One day I looked out the back door and there were my neighbor’s two dogs taking a walk by themselves. They apparently had missed their daily walk and took it upon themselves to take the same exact route they take everyday. Fortunately, the older dog had the puppy’s leash in his mouth so he wouldn’t get lost 😲. By the time I got my phone out to call, I saw the neighbor running after them. This neighborhood is a pretty nice place and people tend to stop and talk to each other and we know their pets. The sad thing is there are people who decide to dump unwanted puppies and kittens in our neighborhood. I guess this happens everywhere.

You got a lot done today. It was rainy here and a chilly 63 degrees. Not a bad day for doing housework inside. I got the sheets changed, did some laundry and vacuuming, and Sweetie went to the store. He didn’t get anything for dessert, which he blamed on me because I never put it on the list. True. I figured we’d be getting dessert at the cybercafe. Sweetie says he wants some of Mom’s pecan cake—the one with the brown sugar icing. I think pecan cake and coffee sounds good, too.

I’ve never gone on a wagon ride. Where we used to live there were lots of little farm with farm stands, pumpkin patches, and corn mazes. When we first moved to North Carolina 18 years ago there were lots of little farms, but many of them had been chicken farms and they’ve sold their land and now there are a whole lot of houses that have been built or are being built. The farm stands around here sell produce from local distributors and they are more expensive than the grocery stores. Thank goodness the cybercafe has a wonderful farm. I’m sure the guys will be happy to grill up some lamb. While it’s nice to have pets, on a farm animals, if they are not pets, have a purpose—they either provide sustenance or income. Is it different at the cybercafe’s farm?

Hi Linda, I finally got back into swimming. Went this morning after two weeks of not going. I'm lame tonight, but feel pretty good about it. Tonight I'm craving bacon so I'm going to have a bacon and lettuce grinder with lots of bacon, and mayo, a bag of chips and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have a giant m&m, chocolate chip cookie and an iced mocha, oh heck make that 2 or 3 of those cookies. We had a mostly rainy day here in Burlington. Cloudy, cold, dark and rainy. Took a much needed nap after lunch.

M&M’s? YES! A giant M&M’s chocolate chip cookie with extra M&M’s on the side and an iced mocha for me, too. 😋 Oh, shoot, I can’t remember what Sweetie wanted. Hold on. Okay, he says he wants bread pudding with hard sauce and ice cream.

Good for you for getting back to swimming. Hope you’re not sore tomorrow. Did you go out to the Y in the rain? I don’t mind misty rain, but wind and heavy rain would keep me home. Did you get the winds from the nor’easter, too?

I wanted to take a nap this afternoon, but I was doing laundry and I didn’t want the clothes to wrinkle. Sweetie made chicken, mashed potatoes, and broccoli for dinner. Dinner was delicious. He cooked while I watched the hostages being released and wept.

Hi Linda, no it's too dark that early in the morning for me to walk, and Burlington has some sketchy people running around. I take SSTA to and from the Y. It's a local bus service that goes door to door for disabled, elderly, or anyone who feels they can't take the regular city bus. You have to have your doctor sign off on it, and it's free going to the Y, and City Market, but I do have to pay when I go out of Burlington to the Shelburne Museum but it's only 4.00 for one way. They are a great service, that I hope we don't lose because of any cutbacks. For dinner tonight I'm going to have tuna noodle, and cheese cassarole with lots of biscuits and butter, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some sugar cookies, and an iced mocha. I've been craving those. I think I'll see if City Market might have some. They should. I'll eat out on the terrace tonight.
