Hi Zzyyggy. It’s a cloudy day and a chilly 61 degrees in the Charlotte area. Probably doesn’t feel that chilly to you, huh. However, the weather at the cybercafe is fantastic! A nice comfortable 80 degrees and sunny. There’s a soft breeze blowing out on the terrace and Viktor brought out my favorite iced tea—the one with scoops of lemon sorbet. I ordered the cheeseburger platter for dinner and the apple pecan strudel with vanilla ice cream.

Hi Linda, again we had both sun and clouds today, but the sun is chasing away the clouds. Went out for a walk earlier, and have been puttering ever since. I'm getting inspected on Tuesday for just safety issues and to see if I'm not a total slob. So I've been decluttering today. Also did 2 loads of laundry. I just finished cleaning the bathroom. For dinner tonight I would love the Sunday roast pork dinner with mashed potatoes, carrots, gravy, dinner rolls, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies and an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the terrace again tonight. Maybe we'll get to see some of that red lightning they are seeing in Australia. Those were some awesome pictures.

Hi Linda, we had mostly clouds today but no rain. Got out for a walk earlier, and it was nice. For dinner tonight I'll have the meatloaf special with mashed potatoes, gravy, peas, dinner rolls, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies and an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the terrace and enjoy the sunset over the ocean.

Zzyyggy, it’s raining! We’re going to have rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, too. Halloween will be clear, although once the sun sets it cools down fast and our overnight temperatures have been in the low to mid 40’s. Will it be too cold for the Halloweenies?
I ordered macaroni and cheese. Well, it’s not exactly macaroni and cheese. Francois made pumpkin gnocchi with a sage butter sauce and grated parmigiana cheese (lots of parmigiana). It’s wonderful with the roast beef and broccoli I made. Francois’ minions made chocolate raspberry trifle. It looks amazing. I had to order that for dessert. Full disclosure: I saw the chocolate raspberry trifle on America’s Test Kitchen’s website. Who knew they work for Chef Francois at the cybercafe?

Hi Linda, we had a nice sunny, but chilly day today. I think you're rain is coming up here on Halloween, and we may even see a few flakes of the white stuff. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the rotisserie chicken with mashed potates, gravy, green beans, dinner rolls and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have a slice of devil's food cake with chocolate ice cream, and an iced mocha. I've had one of those days with alot going on. Tomorrow is going to be another one. I'll eat out on the patio tonight. The floating ghosts are pretty awesome. I forgot it was national Chocolate day. Victor reminded me, and is setting up little bags of candies on our tables. I got my kisses, and we know what you'll get.

Zzyyggy, the temperature in Burlington was two degrees warmer than Charlotte today! Of course, our nighttime temperatures are in the 40’s, not the 30’s like yours and our temperatures will be back in the 60’s by Thursday. We’ve had over 2 inches of rain in the last two days. It supposed to rain on Wednesday, too.
I didn’t know it was National Chocolate Day, but Chef Francois and Viktor had it covered. Viktor made an M&M’s Blizzard with chocolate sauce for me for dessert. We had rotisserie chicken for dinner with broccoli, and baked potatoes and gravy. Francois makes the best dinner rolls. They taste great with chicken and gravy.

Hi Zzyyggy. Hope everything is okay with you. We had a dreary day—cold, dark, windy and occasionally misty. Tomorrow the sun will be back. I ordered the sesame chicken with broccoli and sticky rice for dinner and a plate of almond cookies. (I wish that were true.) We have an Asian market that makes yummy sesame chicken. It’s been years since we’ve gone there. Fortunately, Chef Francois makes delicious sesame chicken and sides.
I think I’ll have dinner in the Club Room tonight. I like the salon that has the red velvet couch and the small dining table with wing chairs by the fireplace. I can sit at the table by the fire and then curl up on the couch with my coffee and read my book.

Zzyyggy, the cybercafe is totally decorated for Halloween and Igor is ecstatic. All his buddies are here. I’ve been avoiding the dining room because, well, zombies tend to make me lose my appetite. What? I’m trying to be polite. Really. I was going to have dinner on the terrace but there was a conga line of zombies threading their way around the terrace and by the pool. Fortunately, they haven’t found the Club Room salons.
Francois sautéed chicken in butter sauce, mushroom risotto, and green beans for me tonight. Viktor served a lovely Pinot Grigio with dinner. For dessert I ordered a slice of lemon ginger cake and a pot of tea. We had a gorgeous day today in the Charlotte area. It took a bit for the clouds to clear this morning, but once they did the sky was a beautiful deep blue. I’m tired tonight after vacuuming, changing sheets, and laundry. Did you get your apartment all ready for the inspection?

Wow, what an amazing surprise!!!! The cyberpool is full of Halloween candy! Viktor is making sure everyone gets their drink of choice. Mine is iced coffee served in these lovely insulated tumblers. I’m going for a dip in the pool. I might be a couple of days.

So, Zzyyggy, is this the end then? Still hoping to see you soon. I’m out on the terrace sipping an iced mocha and enjoying some chocolate chip cookies. I’m just starting a new book.

hi linda, I had a bad fall on wednesday and am in the hospital. I broke my right arm and can,t do anything iI'm typing one handed I,ll try to get on more often Francois surprise me with something good.

ZZYYGGY!!! I was hoping nothing bad happened, but it did. If I was closer I would bring you an iced mocha from Starbucks. Viktor and all the guys have been very concerned. Me, too. It must have been a very bad fall indeed. I’m really glad you’re still here. I’ve missed you terribly.
Francois made meatloaf for dinner tonight (Thursday). There’s mashed potatoes and gravy and several different vegetable sides. Igor wants to know if he should light a fire in the dining room or light up the fire pits on the terrace. Jorge, of course, says we should have dessert out on the terrace and watch he northern lights, but we can stay in and watch the fish swimming in their aquarium. Francois made apple pie for dessert and there’s homemade vanilla ice cream, too.
Friday’s dinner is the fried fish platter—flounder fillets, french fries, and corn on the cob. There’s fried okra, sliced fresh tomatoes, and hush puppies, along with Francois’ ubiquitous dinner rolls. I dearly love the bread baskets that are always served alongside every dinner. Francois says he’ll make a blueberry pie, but don’t forget there’s always Klondike Bars, too.
Francois is making a complete Thanksgiving dinner for us on Saturday night. I’m really looking forward to that. Oh, before I forget—Francois made a batch of giant chocolate chip cookies, some even have M&Ms. Viktor packed them up in a box just for you. I’ll bring them along with the iced mocha.

Hi Zzyyggy. I’m hoping you’re feeling some better today. I’ve added you to my prayers. I don’t know if you’re religious, but I am.
We’ve had a nice Friday. It was 73 degrees and sunny for most of the day. This weekend is going to be warm, but Monday the high is supposed to be 50 degrees and we’re going to have our first freeze of the season. While your weather gets colder, our temperatures return to normal by Wednesday—temperatures between 64 and 72 degrees—at least for the next two weeks. The nighttime temperatures are much lower now than they were last month. All the leaves are starting to turn, but the double bloom azaleas are blooming. Of course, the blooms will be gone with the frost.
It’s still warm out here on the cybercafe’s terrace and instead of the blueberry pie I ordered ice cream. I’m craving an ice cream sandwich made with chocolate chip cookies filled with chocolate ice cream and rolled in brownie crumbs. Francois has a chocolate chip cookie recipe specifically for the cookie wafer for ice cream sandwiches. That sounds so good.

Hi Zzyyggy. Saturday’s Thanksgiving dinner was a big hit. Francois made a Sunday roast dinner tonight. It was delicious. I was thinking of you and wondering if you needed some medicinal chocolate. Perhaps Devil’s food cake or German chocolate cake with chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce to go with an iced mocha?

hi Linda this one handed typing sucks for dinner tonight I would like porterhouse steak, baked potato, and peas . For dessert I would like a hot fudge sundae and an iced mocha. I'm doing okay. It snowed here yesterday on my birthday still in rehab. I'll eat on the terrace tonight

Zzyyggy! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🥳🎈🎂🎁🎈🍨🎈🥳🎉
Rehab? You definitely need medicinal chocolate. You won’t believe this, but we’re getting snow, too. It’s very light snow—gone as soon as it hits the ground. Tomorrow we’ll be back to our seasonal weather. We’ll even have a couple of days in the high 70’s—a whole 50 degrees warmer than tonight.
It’s a beautiful, warm evening on the terrace at the cybercafe. Sweetie loves hot fudge sundaes. He wants vanilla ice cream with extra hot fudge on his. I ordered my sundae with coffee ice cream, lots of fudge sauce (not too hot), with a generous handful of chocolate covered espresso beans on top. A side helping of M&M’s would be great, too.

Hi Zzyyggy. I’m ready to sit in front of the fire in my recliner with my fuzzy bunny slippers on my feet and my blue fleece blanket on my lap. I’m hanging out in the Club Room tonight. It was 🥶so cold today and yesterday. The temperature in Charlotte will be warming up tomorrow, but it’s cold now.
Viktor is bringing me a nice hot cafe mocha to help me warm up and I ordered the apple cranberry crisp. It’s still hot from the oven. Yum. 😋 Sweetie made chicken soup for dinner tonight. I’m going to have soup for breakfast, too. I’m sure Francois will have fresh bread right out of the oven to serve with my breakfast in the morning.

Hi Linda, I'm ready for the fireplace as well. I'll have the spaghetti and meatball platter with garlic bread and a covcoca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies and an iced mocha. I'll eat by the fireplace in the dining room.

Hi Zzyyggy. I’ll join you by the fire. The garlic bread sounds really yummy. I ordered the garlic bread smothered with melted smoked Gouda. Francois had some frozen blueberries and he made blueberry sauce for my vanilla ice cream and topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. I think I’ll have a couple of chocolate chip cookies and coffee, too.
We had a couple of cold days and it was so windy even the green leaves were falling off the trees. Poor Sweetie was outside blowing the leaves to the curb in the wind. It was warmer today—63 degrees, but Sweetie was out around town paying bills and shopping for more vegetables. He bought arugula, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, leeks, and onions. I forgot to put celery on the list. I had apples and oranges on the list, but he bought bananas instead. Can’t complain, I was thrilled that he went shopping. There’ll be leaves falling and he’ll be back out there tomorrow for sure.

Hi Linda, it's been cold drab and dreary here. I need some warm tropical sunshine. For dinner tonight I would love a bacon cheeseburger with fries, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies and an iced mocha. I'll eat out on the terrace and enjoy the sunshine

Hi Zzyyggy. We had a sunny 70 degree day today, but it felt cold in the house. It would be warmer if I turned the heat up , but I can’t bring myself to do that. Besides, the forecast for this weekend says the temperature will be in the mid 70’s. Still, it’s a lovely evening out here on the terrace at the cybercafe. I got a plate of pecan chocolate chip cookies. It’s wonderful to be able to eat all the foods I can’t eat in the real world. I ordered an iced mocha, too. This morning I discovered that a tablespoon of milk chocolate chips melt beautifully in hot coffee and with a bit of cream it makes a yummy treat. The trick is NOT to have more than one cup and NOT eat any extra chocolate chips.
The new challenge is to eat just protein, vegetables, and two fruits per day, three days a week. For the other four days you eat your normal healthy diet, allowing a small treat a couple times a week. I picked Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday for my low carb days—hopefully tweaking the plan so you lose weight. For me that means I have to decide what kind of carbs and how much I can eat and still lose weight. Because I haven’t been losing weight for a long time now I decided to give this a try. What do I have to lose? (Pun intended.)

Hi Zzyyggy. Our weather in Charlotte is supposed to warm up into the mid 70’s this weekend. I caused this because I bought a heavy sweatshirt that should see me through the coldest weather we get in Charlotte. If it gets too cold around here, people just stay home. Works for me.
I’ve been enjoying the sunset out on the terrace at the cybercafe. It’s still nice and toasty warm and it’s the perfect ice cream sundae weather. I ordered the chocolate chip cookie sundae. I never had one, but I figured it’s probably sold somewhere. I know Viktor can make one for me.
