Did Denise Austin’s Boot Camp DVD then took a walk. The plan for tomorrow is to do a part of the Yoga for Weight Loss DVD.
Went to South Carolina to pick up a piece of bisque (like we need more, I have enough to keep me busy until 2024 at least.)
Church tonight. To be honest, I don’t know that I would normally go, but this one guy asked me to lector for him and I said that I would. He lectored for me when we needed to go to FL so I feel I should reciprocate. Have tickets for the Green Room tonight to see “9 to 5”. So I know that I won’t get my steps in.
Heather – breathe! I’m glad Nellie went to a good home. How do the kids feel about this?
Vince wants to cut the grass tomorrow
Julie – I was thinking that if all they needed to do was freeze the skin tag off, I’d have him do it. But he said that it would require surgery to remove it, so since it really isn’t bothering me, I just decided that I forgo it
Sharon – welcome. What works for me is if I don’t have anything to eat after dinner or just have Saltine crackers. Now do I do that???? Nope
My hip is still hurting a bit. Wish we’d heal the way we did when we were 20!
Barbara – when I went to South Carolina today, this is the lady who I got the mermaid from. I noticed that on her mermaid she had shells.

Machka I could never get ready to leave the house in 40 minutes. You are a speed demon! Good plan to schedule rest days after the end of month procedure. Good luck!
Barbara, the Southern Oregon Coastie AHMOD
I can get it down to 35 min ...
About 20 min in the bathroom & shower
About 10 min getting dressed
About 5 min throwing on some foundation, running a comb through my hair and spraying some hairspray.
If I've got a couple extra minutes for some reason, I'll use the hair dryer as well.
I don't like getting up and getting ready for the day so there's no sense prolonging it.

[Well that was interesting!
Thanks for the nice words Heather, I love my pretties, even though I probably do need a cabinet of some sort.
Tracey, that is a bay window that's in front of our kitchen sink area.

We are saving a lot of money with son only joining us for the weekends for meals because he works nights. Also I just fix less if its just husband, but many of the foods husband likes, are not ones I like. Like tonight is a salad bag, and French dip sandwiches with fries. Too much bread! Plus I would rather have cabbage, some sweet onion, kielbasa sausage, and a handful of baby potatoes simmered in some of my chicken broth. That's my heaven!
Rebecca
I'd be with your husband, I think.
A garden salad and a grain bread sandwich sounds yummy to me. The sandwich could be chicken or tomato and cheese or similar.

If that window got any sun, it would be great for plants or flowers, but sadly it doesn't.

Oh, wow I didn't realise that - that really doesn't seem worth it! especially for one skin tag on the back. Maybe bigger ones need to be removed surgically.0 -
The parents got back around 11. 40 pm. My son drove us home. They seemed very pleased and happy with their evening in London.
Kids were great. They are growing up now and can do so much more for themselves. Fun to be with.
Michele - The parents still, haven't talked to us about it. The dog never seemed happy to me and very needy and neurotic. Edie said they were 'very sad', but the explanation they had been given seemed to satisfy them and they understood. I hope to hear more in due course. I am 100% sure it is best for the dog. It is typical of my DDIL that she was able to make that decision, which must have been hard, and I respect her for it.
Definitely a 'learning experience'.

Morning ladies
Well i hopped out of bed and got one load in the dryer and my comforter in the wash.here is hoping I can sneak it in a dryer before everyone wakes up...they dont want you putting stuff like that in there..
I slept pretty well last night and have all the cardboard packed to go up to the dumpster will get that out today..
I have been spending less time in my bedroom which is good ,and doing more things than just laying around.5 -
Edie was ready for bed. Then she put on her dad's party wig and my reading specs.

Today I finished organising the bathroom. My husband has a little bit to do with his area but the rest is organised. I got rid of quite a bit of stuff and have plans to get rid of more as the weeks go by.
I also put away a couple weeks' worth of laundry!
Plus I ran ... and am now a bit sore.
Tomorrow, I go back to work.

Debbie- Yeah, there are moments when I am clenching my teeth when dealing with licensing rules, etc. Here in Michigan, doctor's notes usually trump everything. We (providers in my state) are getting ready to face off with our state legislators in regards to the way they "run/regulate" us. One of the things that I want changed, is how the state posts violations on providers public files. For many years, licensing consultants would only visit providers when they opened a new license OR when there was a violation reported. During those years, the state would visit a "random sampling" of providers. I called them on their "randomness", because I was chosen for the unannounced visit many, many times. I have been written up for violations such as plastic sandwich bags being stored within reach of the kids (in a drawer), fire extinguisher being hung too high (three inches), allowing children to climb a tree with no "cushioning" under the tree. All of these violations fixed within hours/days. BUT...the state doesn't state specifics when they write the violation on our public page. It simply states the rule number plus basic explanation. (ex. r104- choking hazard or r257- fire code violation or r3567 safety violation). SO...because I have been in the business for almost 30 years. I have almost 30 years worth of "violations" on my public site, with no explanation or corrective action stated. Unvisited providers have zero violations. New providers have less/zero violations. Now the state requires that all centers and homes be visited every two years for an official review AND have a short interim check on the in-between year. We (providers) will be asking that the violations be updated to show correction/compliance, and that harmless violations (violations that did not cause harm to a child) are removed from public view at each renewal.
Anyway, I have reached an age where I am totally sick of the lack of support from the government.
More tree and yard waste removal today. Tim got out with the saw last night. He can't move today; so I will go out and haul everything to the yard waste bin. I think I have convinced him to hire someone to do the rest. On the upside, I have lost a couple of pounds this past week, from all of the yard work! I better get busy. ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)6 -
Rebecca – Your tea cups are lovely and the trees outside the window are lovely. It seems like a very nice neighborhood. Fingers crossed for your annual renewal. It is in a lovely place.
Heather – Your DDIL is gorgeous! I’m glad the were able to get to the concert in time. Bethoven is a favorite. I tune my car radio to classical music regularly.
Our brother in law passed away a few days ago. He was 90+ years old and lived a long and productive life. I do not know whether there will be a funeral or service. He was a hard woking man, and the father of many children, now adults and grandparents with their own grown grandchildren.

Well caught up on the reading.
Off to work. I did a little yesterday and starting earlier today so maybe I won't be up until 2 am this morning getting ready for tomorrow. 2 new kids added to my AP stats class sure 4 weeks in is a great time to start an AP class. Yes I can get them up to speed in no time. No they won't have to put in any extra time. Because we don't want to penalize kids who are starting 9/20 for a class that started 8/16.
Working to get one's calculator working.
Slide decks.

I have told myself I'm going to persist because I want to have my hubby retire early but truth is he'll probably have to work until he's 59.5 either way due to 401k rules.
I made $700 trading on Friday. I might just need to do that instead. It doesn't bring cash into the household since it is inside a Roth but it sure does make retirement easier. It's more than I make working these crazy hours each week.
I am finding on the weekends I can stay on plan but weekdays or late nights I stress eat. So I'm setting the goal one more time to stop stress eating. I start my gallbladder cleanse tonight so it should make it easier not to stress eat for a least a few days.

Liz. I eat similar to what you described, except for the guy biome. What is that exactly? I’m also stress eating. Feel better this morning so we will see how today goes.

I get a once a month Box of essential oils that includes recipes and most of what you need to make them. I got two cut votive candle holder from the Dollar tree yesterday after the dentist and plan to make the 2 candle recipes today. I’ll post pics when they are done. One recipe called for pine cones. Well, can’t find those around here so bought a cute little hanging thing with broom thingies and scented that. Smells so good.
Well, campers at door and I need to do laundry so laters ladies!

Gut Biomeso here are two very short videos that explain the importance of the connection.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=X14lD_esCoM
https://youtube.com/watch?v=MQalic_fjNc&t=15s
I really like this guy he focuses on gut biome. Even treats hospital patients from a gut biome stand point.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=41IfdwLqtkA&t=15s
Here's a much longer one from Standford university https://youtube.com/watch?v=nxyxcTZccsE&t=1676s
I've spent hours watching lectures by researchers and all of which agree that gut biome is so crucial to overall health. It also goes back to the insulin resistance as well.
So there are varying versions of gut biome eating but they often have overlapping ideas....
The things I do that I count as my gut biome regime.
1. I don't eat foods with lots of processed ingredients that i can't pronounce or don't recognize as a food. So a nice spaghetti sauce with tomatoes, onions, green peppers, garlic powder fine. Add other junk I don't buy it.
2. I don't eat wheat or most corn.
3. I try to eat 20 different vegetables and fruit each week. So this week looks like this, asparagus, baby beet greens, spinach, romain, arugala, ice berg, persimmon, grapefruit, zucchini, yellow squash, spaghetti squash, tomato, green pepper, garlic, green beans, radish, broccoli, cauliflower, fennel, mushroom, onion, red pepper, strawberry, raspberry.. I'm sure I missed some but that was at least 20.
3. I eat organic mostly. This was hardest for me. It is expensive but I get a box from Misfits every 2 weeks to help I also grow some of my own food.
3. I eat grass fed or pastured animals not grain fed or grain lot meat. The grass fed free range animals have a different lipid profile. I now also eat more fat than ever in the last 20 years. (It's still limited but I was very low fat before).
4. I do intermittent fasting. I start eating at 10:30 and quit by 6:00 most days. 16 hours of fasting each day.
5. I take apple cider vinegar each day. It helps your body create a thing called butyrate acid.
6. I also try to eat some fermented foods each week. Saurkraut and taqueria, grass fed yogurt, grass fed kefir, grass fed aged cheeses. Oh and I love Komboucha. You can make this cheap on your own. When I'm busy I buy GT's.
7. I also make, can and use my own bone broth which is super helpful for healing the intestinal tract and for raising HDL.
8. I take aloe vera juice 1 oz a day frequently, not everyday. Aloe vera helps your intestinal lining regerate.
9. I also drink raw milk to get healthy bacteria. I do not drink pasturized milk. I completely understand those that won't drink raw milk but if you don't want to try that I'd give up pasturized milk.
What's left to eat?
Well here's a day for me sometimes.
10:30 coffee with grassfed half and half
11:00 squash casserole made with zucchini, yellow squash, onions, mushroom, and other veggies in the fridge that need to get used up the day I make this (make 8 servings). Plus cottage cheese, greek yogurt, shredded cheese and eggs. pastured sausage. delcicious and about 300 calories for a serving which I find serving.
(1 or 2 of the below)
1:30 1/8th cup of pistachios (85 calories)
1:30 1 oz of millet and flax crackers by sami's bakery. (100 calories 12 grams of fiber)
1:30 1/2 cup of raw milk (80 cal)
5:00 - 6:30
6 oz. boston butt (300) with green beans (40)
or 8 oz steak with steamed broccoli and butter ( 500)
or
giant salad (4-6 cups of veggies) mixed greens, onion, mushroom, radish, red pepper, fennel, cauliflower from teh taqueria mix with just a few raspberries or strawberries (60-100 cal)
1 tbsp of Percino Roman cheese (20 cal)
Salad topped with salmon (cooked in oven with zucchini, onion, mushrooms, grapefruit juice) (300)
So that is like 1000 calories. I can add up to 400 more calories without problem. If I'm not stressed I find most of the above keeps me full and satiated. I often times will add more nuts or veggies like I like radish just plain snacking. Or more milk or Komboucha.
I don't eat gut biome to loose weight but to gain health. April 2020 up through April I could eat just about any amount of calories (meaning low like 1000 calories) and I didn't lose weight. I also had trouble with my blood lipids. Even when I cut out fat and exercised I was still running over 300 for triglycerides.
I didn't know it but I was insulin resistent. Then in April I got nauseated and had troubl eating and started having pain on my left side. I was exhausted and could barely function. I was diagnosed with gallstones but that is usually right side pain. They offered to take out my gallbladder but I wasn't ready for that. I read and read and watched Youtube videos by doctors and lectures for other doctors.
I discovered what I think is a major issue for most people our age which is insulin resistance and destruction of gut biome. I changed my diet some for gallbladder some for gut biome.
I have greatly improved how I feel and function when not in school and not stress eating I lost weight without hunger. Now I"m back in school and stress eating but I still feel tons better, my lipids are awesome and I still have my gallbladder 1.5 years later with less pain no nausea, and much less exhaustion. I'm working til 2 am in the morning. Back April 2020 I couldn't even go the day without a nap.
I hope you have a chance to watch some of the videos my favorite is the second as it explains but is short.
I like Dr. Ekberg period he has a lot of videos. But I never listen to one source so I took anything in his videos I like and double check with other sources. Mostly through research articles. I was shocked that the insulin resistance is well know but doctors never talk about it until you have diabetes. Insulin is a fat storing hormone.
I should clarify. I have been on the gallbladder blood work journey since April 2020. I added gut biome this May when I had a set back and was exhausted again. I did a gallbladder cleanse and then added in the insulin resistance/gut biome eating.

Dh and I spent the day up in Sacramento yesterday. Went shopping at KP International Marketplace- think Costco size or bigger but all international groceries- this time we only spent an hour(but I did realize after we left that I missed a section) then met up with a friend and his daughter to celebrate his 60th birthday and our 29th anniversary- both are today but I told dh I wanted our actual anniversary dinner(or lunch) just the two of us. He was surprised at me feeling that way but agreed. We went to a Korean place. We have never been there. It was pricy but really good- all the little "banchan"(the little side dishes, mainly pickled veggies of all kinds-at least 15 of them). I filled up on them, gave dh my rice and brought 90% of my chicken katsu home with me. Did great calorie wise with that meal but that cheese and spinach piroshki made with philo dough from the Russian bakery was I am sure most of the calories I should have eaten for the whole day. It was really good and I did enjoy it. After dinner the three of them wanted boba tea- I got a hot lichee tea that was too sweet for me but flavor was really good- drank part and brought the rest home and added it to my black tea this morning- still great flavor but not super sweet.
Today we will go out for lunch or dinner- I told him I was fine even just doing a picnic at the water front. We just need to spend it just the two of us.
He is sleeping now.
I will watch church and then get some computer work done that I have fallen behind with and enjoy my tea
Ten minutes until church starts- I will try going back IN church in a few weeks. Next Sunday we will be at my mom's- I have my 41st class reunion(our 40th was postpones so we are doing ours with the other class) on Saturday so we will spend the night at mom's. DH said he doesn't feel comfortable being with all those people he doesn't know so most likely he will stop in, say hi to my cousin and a few others he knows then just hang out at mom's and either come back to get me when it is done or I will get a ride with someone. I am totally fine with that but his excuse is what bothers me. We will be outside and he can wear his mask if he wants. Two weeks ago he helped a friend with a comic con event- two days inside, and had no problem being there(with masks on the whole time). If he doesn't want to be there, I would rather him not and not have to deal with his mood. I want to enjoy the evening with friends I haven't seen in over 40 yrs or friends I don't see often enough.
Time to warm my tea and get ready to watch church.
Have a wonderful Sunday everyone
Debbie

V nice Carol. Subtle shade. Suits you.
Quiet recovery day.
Then got a phone call from DSIL DH'S sister. She is waiting for a big ankle operation and there is a very long wait. Just recently she has been having terrible gut/bowel problems and has an appointment in the next two weeks for an investigation. Poor woman. She makes light of it, but they have cancelled their holiday and she is not very mobile. She used to be superfit for her age and busy, busy. When we know what the hospital says, we will organise a visit.
Tomorrow, on with the editing. Then a bit of thinking about the following day's lunch. We will, do the lateral flow tests that morning, early.
Then it's a rush to the school to pick up Bea. The other two have music lessons, so my son will sort that out.
A bit too much going on at the moment for me to feel comfortable. My book is the priority, but life goes on and is picking up pace. A day at a time.
The family are doing a little tea party for my birthday. That's lovely of them. It's the day after my brother and his wife are staying for two nights. Hmm mm.
The editing will be done by then, but I will be working on the launch.
ONE DAY AT A TIME.
