@penguinmama87 I'm glad you got out for your run before anyone else woke up this morning. I am a dog lover, but I still get scared of being bitten by dogs that are aggressively barking. You just never know.

@Tramboman Knowledge is power. Now that you know, you can do something about it. Asking Santa for discipline is a good start.

@sweetdaisy13 Nice running and sounds like a very wise plan for the month.

@mshawski Great run. Looks like a really nice trail.

@AlphaHowls Hugs. All of those things are hard. Great running in September.

@polskagirl01 Glad your son rode his bike with you today. I love seeing all of you who get your kids involved with your running and out exercising instead of sitting on the computer all day!

    Yeah for a great run @ContraryMaryMary .

@Teresa502 You did great on your endurance run. Sounds like you had a fun too! I'll bet that creek was cold.

Great job on the timed run @Teresa502. I love the shirt and blanket.

@mshawski What a pretty place to run our walk..

@TheMrWobbly I hope the rest comes soon and you get to enjoy your holiday instead of working!

    Great job @Teresa502 !

@quilteryoyo that sounds like quite a workout.

@mshawski it's not TMI for this thread; we're runners, and we do talk about stuff like this. I don't have any great advice on this, other than looking at what/when you're eating before running and seeing if there's any connection. It's still good to increase slowly, so maybe it's a blessing in disguise to get you to slow down.

@Scott6255 Fingers crossed your leg holds up for race day. Even if you have a few days of rest, you still be fine for your race as you already have a good base fitness.

Not sure if you've changed your shoes, but if your new shoes are causing shin splints, maybe it's best to go back to your old ones until your race is done.

    10/1 – 3.01
    10/2 – 5.05
    10/3 – 7.02

    15.08 of 90 miles

Catching up as usual after the weekend.

@julieannegannon sorry the hip is still giving you trouble

@CarsonSurfs if I had a dollar for every time I hit the ground on a trail I’d be rich. Sounds like fun.

@RunsOnEspresso it got cooler here in the mornings and I got used to it, then it said ha ha I went back to a million degrees

@Tramboman too funny!!! I’m seriously thinking I’d trust the eye of newt vs the national weather service.

Dogs always give me reason to pause on a run…are they nice? Are you not? At the coyotes and other critters just move along.

    Hugs @AlphaHowls

@TheMrWobbly your holidays sound like mine, working while I’m on vacation.

    @mshawski I’m with @polskagirl01 – nothing is TMI here!

@Tramboman Not only am I impressed that you can identify all of those leaves, I'm more impressed that you could remember them all after you run!

@juliet3455 Those pictures are gorgeous! Great job on your hike.

@Scott6255 I'm sorry your shin is giving you so much trouble. Glad you found things that help it. Hope you are able to run the 15K without actual crutches.

@shanaber That is way too hot for October! I hope you get the cooldown and the rain.

@kgirlhart Glad you had such a nice run and that you saw Sunny today!

@skippygirlsmom and all the others that ran the 10K....Congratulations on being a part of the World Record!!!

I've run 2,330 miles since the last time I set foot on a treadmill.

I love this. My longest no dreadmill streak (before I retired from running to become a recreational surfer  ) was in the neighborhood of 15 months. I just can't stand that torture device. I caved because I had a 10 mile run on the schedule and there was sleet and ice everywhere. I couldn't even safely get to a trail.

Getting caught up from the weekend. Lots of good running this weekend!

@mshawski As others said, no TMI here! I am also learning to <3 hills. I live in a very flat place but am now running on significant hills a few days a month at a second property. Hills are hard! They seem to be getting a little easier but I still have yet to do a run longer than 3-4 miles there because even shorter distances feel like a serious workout.

@polskagirl01 Congrats on 40 weeks of 40 km! That is a big commitment!

@AlphaHowls Sorry to hear you are having a hard time. Hugs from over here!

@Teresa502 Awesome work on your race! Love the race swag. I have never done one of those times events, but I know @7lenny7 has done a few and they sound interesting. I’ll have to see if one pops up in my local trails races.

@penguinmama87 Re dogs - I feel the same. I never worry about people (well, maybe the cars) but the dogs I always watch and give an extra wide berth. It is so hard to know which ones are the ones that will be ok and which are going to snap at you.

@quilteryoyo You get so much done in a day! It’s really impressive.

@Scott6255 I hope your shin behaves for race day. It’s good you have some aids figured out if you need them.

@ereck44 Tough break on the GI issues right before race day. Sucks you had to DNS. Hope you feel better soon.
