Regarding weight goals ... it's not just height but also body type that needs to be considered. I'm 5'3" but small boned and carry excess weight in the waist/middle area. Based on my height and frame 111-124 is the range I should be in but based on where I carry excess weight being in the 111-114 range will be a better place for me.7

11/01 - 137.1
11/02 - 136.4 - Had a beautiful rare striploin and blackened prawns for dinner, Kanjac angel hair with fresh garlic, parmesan, and sour cream to accompany it. I ate half of all of it. Felt full for the first time in quite a while. Beef and prawns...I don't eat very often, must have needed the protein. I guess that I will be having it again tonight.
11/03 - 135.6 - Happy to see this coming down. Late dinners are becoming the norm because of my work schedule over the last few months and months to come. Maybe my body is getting used to it.
11/04 - 135.3 - I feel like Tina and I have been so close in weight whether we were gaining or losing. Of course she is 4" taller than me.
11/05 - 135.0 - Put on 4 pounds in one day on Thanksgiving, will it be 4 months to take off one day of delicious eating? I want this to be sustainable, I want to be able to eat fattening food here and there.

Hello again, everyone!!
My name is Ana. Some months after my husband passed away I was at my highest weight (180 lbs). Using MFP I was able to get back to a healthy weight through diet and exercise and I kept it off for years. Unfortunately, the pandemic has messed me up in many, profound ways that led to a Dr's visit on June 16th where I learned that I was back up to 156.4 lb. I am back to the MFP community to make myself accountable for my own health.
Highest Weight 2011: 180 lbs
2021 Highest (June): 156.4 lbs
November Start: 138.4
Ultimate goal: Be fit and at a healthy weight.
November Goal: My goal thus far has been to diet and exercise until I've reached and maintained 121 lb by the end of July of 2022. However, after deep reflection-and with some fear-, I've decided that for this month, my goal will be SELF LOVE and COMPASSION. This month:
1. I will NOT weigh myself weekly
2. I will exercise 4/5x a week to tone muscle
3. I will keep track of calories to maintain
11/06: Weekly goal accomplished-ish? I planned my meals, tracked calories and listened to my satiety cues. As a result I was under most of the days and the 2 days I was over it was by very little. I ate treats for Día de los Muertos but even though they were sugary, they were somewhat wholesome and nutritious so I don't feel guilty. I didn't formally exercise but walked to work 4x even though it was very cold. I listened to my body telling me, scratch that, shouting at me that I was exhausted and tried to sleep longer every day of the week.
As I write this I feel anxiety build up. I am fearful that I've gained at least 2lb and I want to weigh in. Since I won't, I am telling myself that then I should work out hard or at least do laundry and not be so lazy. I will take that child gently by the arm and remind her that ever since last week, the plan was to do nothing work/chore related today.
I feel the need to explain myself. To tell you that my goal thus far has been to reach and maintain 121 lb by the end of July of 2022; that I really didn't care that my family and friends have expressed a loving concern about my plan of dieting that long now that I have achieved a healthy weight. That it took the added bonus of therapy and book analysis (and the sight of saggy skin, let's be honest) for me to reconsider. That I began re-reading some group posts from the last 3 months-especially mine- and that sent me on a deeper exploration of my weight loss motives. The conclusion of which, thus far, is that SELF-LOVE and COMPASSION will be my healthiest and hardest goal for the month and I want to stick to it with the same fierceness that I did when my goal was to shed weight.
I want to expand and explain my reasons. In fact, I had them written down but got erased. I'll take that as a sign. In all sincerity, I found a way to sneak in some more in the paragraph above after reading my draft.
I long for the day when I don't feel the need to write an essay to justify my decisions. I'm working on it.
I hope that we all feel proud to be invested in our health, with all the ups and downs that weight loss brings about. Love to everyone! 💖
