So I am on 2 prescriptions for my UTI. So no real fasting for 5 days because its 3 times a day pills. I suppose as long as I do 12 hours (when I mostly sleep) that's ok. My health comes first. Life happens.

Rebecca ... fasting was made for you, you were not made for fasting. It's a way of life, not a law and several days shortening the fasting period will not ruin all of your efforts. If you are really concerned, make a concerted effort to eat healthy and watch your portions. Hope you feel better soon.

Question: Do any of you cook with ground turkey? I have never really used ground turkey but thought I would try it. Made a turkey meatloaf for dinner this evening. The recipe I used (92% lean ground turkey) produced a moist, firm, very easily sliced loaf that tasted OK. But the smell was off-putting ... like fake meat smells in the school cafeteria. I didn't think dinner was inedible but my guys wouldn't go past one bite. Granted, they were prejudiced before they even tried, it certain they wouldn't like it, and they didn't. I have another package of ground turkey in the freezer, but unless I can completely fool them, they won't eat it.

I find ground turkey is best with a lot of spices. Maybe oregano and garlic in a meatloaf to punch up the flavor.

I cook with ground turkey a lot. I often mix it with ground pork sausage to make burgers, meatloaf, quiche, etc. I like it with taco spices. Use spices and herbs, BBQ sauce; things like that.

I use ground chicken. I have used ground turkey but didn't like it as much as the ground chicken.

To use up the ground turkey, I'd brown it in a frying pan with onions, then pop it into a slow cooker with veg and a curry mix. Turn it into a turkey and veg curry.

:) Welcome, LBuffy, This is the place to find the supportive friends that will help you on your journey. I love the people at my local pharmacy and know what a busy job it is. It helps me to come back to this thread every day to remind myself that there are other women on the same journey with me.

I use ground turkey in almost everything- This week I did taco filling(for tacos/nachos/etc, I also do eggroll in a bowl, chili, spaghetti sauce. Anything that I use ground beef in, In all those things, there is so much flavoring so it covers the turkey taste. Mongolian meatball ramen the guys here really like- again- lots of sauce/flavor added to it.

Thank you Beth for the encouragement! Nope this won't derail me. Plus my urine is a cheery pink color, (the meds)!

I am looking forward to getting to know all of you. I have to remember to come here since I can not see the community from my app.

Allie - We are both on a good track. Making a baby blanket is work but very satisfying. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. <3

Worked now have an apple pie in the oven baking for dessert tonight. Just because it’s raining and cold out, Vince doesn’t want to grill the ribs, he wants me to put them in the broiler. Wimp…..lol

Beth – I’ve cooked with ground turkey and I’ve even gotten it into Vince...lol He says he can taste that it isn’t ground beef, but he eats it. I put ketchup in the meatloaf. Ground turkey can have a “bland” taste so you need to doctor it up

Terri – (((HUG))) So very sorry about your friends

    Buffy – welcome!

Going to get to bed. Work tomorrow and then the soup kitchen. Hopefully, I’ll get home before Steve leaves.

Katla - I’m happy to read that PT was not painful for you. I have been sore after some of my sessions but not in anymore pain than normal.

Allie - I hope your email works for keeping you out of a hearing.

Michele - I used to put vinegar in the wash with my work clothes to help with the smell. I think a 1/4 cup or so. It’s been a long time ago now.

I’ll have to do my recap of who I am later, it was a long trying day today after a late night last night.

    Good night all,

    Busy and productive day!

I spray painted the pieces of the base of an outdoor table. We picked it up last year at a tip shop for something like $10. Last summer, I power washed it and sanded it down and meant to get to the spray painting, but that just didn't happen for some reason. However, it's done now. The next step will be putting it together again.

Then we went on a hunt for gravel and found a wonderful place. There, we shovelled and carried 360 kg (794 lbs) of gravel to get it into our van and home. This evening, I'm just starting to feel it. I expect I might be slightly sore tomorrow.

The gravel is for our footpath which has washed away in several heavy rainstorms since the BIG ONE in May 2018. That one dropped about 100 mm of rain in a few hours and just about washed the footpath away. The subsequent rainstorms have added to the damage. Tomorrow we'll chat about our plan for laying the gravel.

We picked up some things from Bunnings for more outdoor work. Then I weeded most of the rest of the path to help prepare it.

Finally we decided to leave the garden and go for a short bicycle ride. Just 8 km. :)

    A bit tired now.

Were invited to a car show by an old school mate, don’t know how long we r going to b there, was wanting to go run a 5k so I can test out these new shoes to c if I can run in them tomorrow, if not, I will have to use an old pair of monkey feet, I’ve worn them all out.
