Machka - Sounds like quite a marathon for that job, but .... you did it! Wonderful. :D

Tracey - So hope your pain goes away. Sending hugs. <3

I'm up early. Very little sleep. A bit of a problem last night with upsetting DH. Long story. I hope and believe he will cheer up this morning when the grandchildren come. I managed to get myself out of my anxiety, but only slept three hours. It will all be fine. It is fine.

    Love to all. Breathe.

Merry Christmas Eve! I am on the bus on the way home and don't go back for 16.5 days!

Just Zoomed with my family in Canada and the US. :)

That was really nice and that is the closest we'll get to seeing family for months or years. Who knows.

We haven't seen my parents in person for 4.5 years and haven't seen my brother in person in 9 years. But we communicate via Facebook, email and Zoom/Skype.

    Thank goodness for technology!!

Now I think I'm going to do a bit of weeding in the garden ... and eat some snowpeas.

Weeded half a flower bed that contained just weeds. I think I'm going to put sunflowers in there, but it needs work. We've got these weeds with roots that go on forever and the root shoots up new growth of the weed every few inches. It's like a game pulling up this root that meanders all over the place!

Then we went cycling (see above). Just a short ride. Both of us are still feeling just a bit off from the booster. Tired.

And then we picked up Zambreros burritos on the way home. Zambreros is the only fast food place we go these days. We haven't been to a hamburger place in years and we used to go to Subway about once every couple weeks, but have been there maybe 3 times since my husband's accident. We've really gone off Subway.

It's Christmas Eve evening now and I might work on Christmas decorations and colour in my Christmas colouring book and read a bit ...

:) Our life is very simple so we finished all our grocery shopping with our weekly curbside pick up on Sunday. Yesterday we headed out to pick up prescriptions at the pharmacy drive through and to the library to pick up a book I had on hold. That is a big day for us. We'll stay home until next Sunday when we pick up groceries again.

:) My walking friend won't be walking with us today as she and her local daughter are driving over to take the ferry to meet with her other daughter. That will give me two hours to listen to podcasts which is a treat for me. The temperature is just above freezing so I'll be wearing lots of layers and watching carefully for slippery spots. Jake has a fire in the wood stove.

<3Lisa, so sorry about all the family drama

:)Heather, congrats on having your article published. You look awesome in your flasher photo.

:)Machka, I enjoy reading about your summer adventures while it is so cold here.

I did my two minutes of elliptical, and some yoga, even though my tummy is not happy for some reason. Probably the chocolate I ate last night. Still, I'm getting back into the hang of the sun salutations. I miss having a teacher to guide my breath, but I'm getting better at it. My dog is still learning which poses can be interrupted for scritches and petting.

My cousin is having an open house, but when specifically asked she said come at 4:30. I'm a little concerned about Covid with my parents going. But it seems inconceivable to not go to a family Christmas gathering. We have all had our shots, and we mostly isolate, so we can just hope for the best. I can't keep them home.

I'm taking brownies and a bottle of wine. My mom keeps saying there's no reason to bring anything, but since I grew up I've learned better.

Then yesterday my aunt invited us to dinner tomorrow. So I won't be cooking at all!

Pip ~ I know you miss your three labs! They were lovely. I love the swim loving Yogi!

Heather ~ Bea looks like a princess! So pretty.

Annie ~ Have fun at the open house and dinner with your aunt.

Lisa ~ I am sorry that your daughter is going through so much. I had hoped the situation had gotten resolved but evidently not. I feel sorry for the children having to go through this as it must be very hard on them.

Michele ~ Is your seafood meal this evening? I hope it goes well.

I spent most of the day yesterday baking goodies to take to my DnL's moms tomorrow. I am definitely not a baker. Even though I tried my best to follow the recipe for a coconut pound cake, I put too much milk in it and it wouldn't bake. I ended up putting it in my Ninja oven at a high temperature for 20 minutes (it had baked in the other oven for 1 hr 15 min and still was just a liquid mess). It finally cooked but ended up being too dry even though it taste delicious. In addition I also made lemon bars and brownies. Even though I have only tasted the cake, I feel bloated at just the thought of all those sweets.

I begged off going to dinner party tonight and will just stay home with Alfie..
Feel safer that way.. I try and keep my circle small
Asked Tracy what I could cook for them to have while she is home recouping from surgery.. and she said Kyle is picky and all Carmine eats is ramen.. I told her she has to eat to keep her strength up especially if she is nursing.. geesh im trying to be a good mom

    Merry Christmas Ladies-
Finding this site really has been a blessing!
Heading up to mom's as soon as dh cleans up. He had said we would leave about 10- well, he isn't even in the shower yet so will be closer to10:30 I guess. I need to run over and feed our friends dog and cats, feeding a little extra beings I won't be back over until tomorrow afternoon. They will be happy to see me.
Looking forward to an evening with just mom and I. Dh will be at his mom's after dropping me off at my mom's. He will stay for a few hours and head home. He, our son and his girlfriend will come up in the morning. They had said they might come up late tonight but I would rather them come in the morning. More storms are hitting tonight and the back road with possible falling trees and mudslides are not good in the day and terrible at night. My younger sister is working so I won't see her. Will leave her gifts at the house and see how long it takes to pick them up. Took her 6 months to get her birthday gift one year- and she lives just like 20 min from mom at most.
No sister or my dh there tonight means we will enjoy a drama free evening which we are both really looking forward to.
    Oyster stew for us tonight.

Have a wonderful holiday and I will check in tomorrow night.

Last night I called my daughter in Illinois and we had a wonderful visit with memories and treasures from long ago. Our daughter made an amazing Father Christmas out of paper. She was then a highschool senior in an art class. I have her Father Christmas displayed on my mother’s piano. I made teddybear tree toppers several years ago and gave one of them to her. It is on top of her Christmas tree. I am so glad that I called her last night. ❤️🎄❤️🎄❤️
