Ignore it.
Your streak is a streak of days you've chosen not to drink, that's what really matters. You're streak would be over if once you found out you said "eff it" and drank it anyway and maybe ordered another.
Do not let perfect be the enemy of great. You're doing amazingly well.

Thanks for all the input on my question and dilemma of 44AF or start over with my days.
@dawnbgethealthy. Funny I had begun writing about that but thought my post was to long so I deleted it.
Amongst the errands we had to run yesterday was to pick up my prescriptions for an acute ear ache I started with again on Friday.
Anyways we went there to pick it up first, I immediately took the medicine and put some drops in my ear. Proceeded on our way to continue errands and about 45 minutes after the pharmacy ended up at the tavern.
I did feel fuzzy, I wlll admit, but poo poo'd it as my ear issue and the medicine. I even said that to my husband after I realized it was not 00. I told him, well that explains why my scalp is crawly, I thought it was the prescriptions we picked up. ( I take no medicines on a regular basis. Even over the counter stuff makes me dizzy sometimes)

Good afternoon everyone,
I’m excited to say that my first week went well on the AF days, without feeling deprived or any cravings. Well, I did eat too many graham crackers vs. eating chocolate, I’m thinking my chocolate habit isn’t as bad as I originally thought…one dove dark promise is 42calories and the sleeve of the graham cracker stacker is 250cals….so I might stick with the one piece of chocolate per night 😄
I started Monday 1/31
AF days: 6
A days: 1
Have a great day everyone!🙋🏻♀️

Here we go, February:
Feb 1-2 - AF
Feb 3-5 - stuck with 2 drink limit
Feb 6-7 AF The AF days are sometimes easier than sticking to the 2 drink limit!4 -
@MissMay One more vote for continuing your streak. Unless you have to report to a parole officer, I would not even count one unintentional drink. The important thing is your mindset!6

Hi all, just catching up with February, in addition to opening up a 4 week pile of mail and going through 450 emails. Covid in January knocked me for such a loop that I am STILL digging out! But at least I feel better!
Despite best intentions to be AF this morning, I came home from a long day at work and immediately poured myself a glass of wine. I’m only having one, but I am way off my goal of AF during the week and only one on the weekend. It’s a choice, yes. Discipline went out the window tonight.5 -

Oh my gosh this is not a fair way to start the new year for you. We wondered where you'd run off to. I hear it is a slow climb back to normal after having covid. Take care 🤗3 -

Thanks Dawn, it has been an issue that keeps reappearing just when I think it is finally cleared up. Need some sunshine and maybe some white sand as a cure.😉4 -

So upbeat and positive, love it. And I agree probably the chocolate is a far better choice. Thanks for checking in.4 -

No AF days yet...But I am still trying!
Today's goal: 1 glass of wine.8 -
Hello everyone!
I’ve been AF for 9 days and it’s definitely getting easier. Feeling better too. Next week will be a test. Going out to dinner several nights and I haven’t dealt with that yet. Especially Valentine’s Day.
Back in Colorado and could really feel the altitude on the treadmill yesterday. Also gained almost 2 pounds. I didn’t log all my food during the driving days, but think a wasn’t too terrible. Hopefully the scale will reflect that in a couple days.
@MissMay - sorry about your ear. I’ve been struggling with teeth problems for the past 7 months. I’m impressed that you’ve stayed on track. Pain can really derail the best intentions. Hope it clears up once and for all very soon. I’ll meet you at the beach though!

That's why discipline isn't a great tool for habit modification.
There are a TON of resources out there to help you modify habits more effectively.
The key is to understand exactly what triggered the behaviour you didn't want, and how to address those triggers when they happen, because you can't depend on pure discipline and will power to carry you through every craving. It's just not consistent enough.2 -
@Womona
Not exactly glad that you got Covid, but your immunity against Omicron will be heightened now.
Did your whole family catch it?
Good luck catching up on all of that work that you have to catch up on.
That must have been your first glass of wine in a long time.
You will be sailing before you know it : - )
Or....we will all be meeting on a sunny beach somewhere.2 -

Good job on the Less Alcohol, keeping it to 1 drink many days.
Most of us on this thread have no intention of moving over to the Sober thread.
Most of us also have been changing our eating habits. Better to eat 2 slices of pizza instead of 4 right? I will still continue to have pizza every once in awhile. Drinks too.8 -
I keep forgetting that giving up alcohol is easy...until it isn't.
6 days AF9 -
Another day almost down, another AF day so yeah. The weekend, well it has passed.
So the surprise, I just found out my DD3 is having the baby girl induced tomorrow morning. Still don't know her name, they are keeping it to themselves. Seems DD3 has developed some liver problems at the end of this pregnancy. The problems with her liver, it is not processing the bile. They told her it is not life threatening for baby girl but to be safe (she is 37 weeks along) they will induce to prevent the risk of still birth. Still a scary thing. But I hope tomorrow to be able to at least have a picture to post. She is 2,500 fly miles away and told us not to come. As a matter of fact the only one allowed to go will be her spouse. All the rest of the family will have to wait until a few weeks down the road (covid paranoid, which is fine that baby is not going anywhere)

I'm baaaack....
At the beginning of August '2020 I was clearing a space for my winter wood delivery & disturbed a nest of ground bees. Set a flapping, shrieking, world class 100 foot dash to my front door. Still managed to get dozens of stings that HURT for a couple weeks. Literally did nothing but sit in a recliner all that time. Only got up to stagger down the basement stairs to clear Catpuccino's litter box. Yeah, food and water, too. It does not turn out well if one does not obey the HeadOfHousehold. When I finally got up and tried to ignore the persistant joint aches left from my bee encounter, I celebrated Labor Day weekend by having a heart attack on the Friday. Next time I spend $30,000 for a long holiday weekend away from home, I'll opt for the Outer Banks...Thank goodness for Medicare, et al.
That experience left me afraid to really go back to being active, since the practically symptomless attack came out of nowhere. [Note to all the ladies...WE DO NOT HAVE THE SAME SYMPTOMS MEN DO. SOMETIMES NONE]
On a really positive note, I totally stopped drinking for more than an entire year. Well, the label on my new meds said "NO". Giving up grapefruit & Chianti vs healthy wasn't a biggie. The lockdowns in Da'Burgh kept me at home, not venturing past my front gate. I left home 3 times last Spring...to get my 1st Covid shot...to Quest, to get blood work, per "my heart doctor"...and the visit to said doctor. Sometime beween the 1st shot & doctor's visit, I seem to have contracted Covid. I had no clue. No symptoms, just the continuation of my year long lethargy. [Quest, I'm lookin' at your overcrowded maskless waiting room]. I began to dislike the "tastes" of certain foods...my favorites....eggs, cheeses, fancy breads, meats, ...everything tasted and had the texture of damp cardboard. It was beyond difficult to force food down. To celebrate my 2nd Covid shot, Middle Daughter & I stopped afterwards to get me a 2-fer Big Mac & fries meal. I lovelovelovemeaBigMac!!!!!! Couldn't attack the Mac til I got home because Middle Daughter is gluten intolerant & I didn't want to spread "glutes" all over her car...Disgusting!! Only flavor was a tiny trace of lettuce and 1000 island...I forced it down anyway. Then the 2nd burger was crumbled out into the yard for the neighborhood alley cats.
I habitually weigh myself each morning, just for *kitten* & giggles, I guess. Catpuccino decided to take a nap on my digial scale one day, and his kneading must have changed the settings from "pounds" to "kilos". I lost the instruction booklet, so I just noted that the number kept coming down. Out of curiosity, I did the conversion....and discovered that I had lost 30 pounds in 2 months. Slight bit of panic here. I started to drink Ensure-type beverages just to keep up the nutrition. They ALSO tasted nasty. After contacting doctors, pharmacists, WebMd to find out what meds might cause this food aversion...no clue. I guess it was still early days for figuring out Covid. It took some months to be able to find foods I could eat, and am back to "normal??" now. The weight loss was a bit of a boon, so I gained some back...not all !!
Came off the "no booze" meds and decided to celebrate my October 75th birthday with a drink or two. Sad discovery...I STILL have an issue with moderation. NO ISSUE with quitting because I HAD to, but it seems to be a problem when I'm left to my own devices.
No posts in recent months because my "space bar" crapped out. Eldest Daughter gifted me with a new device, perhaps because she was tired of e-mails thatreadlikeaverylongrunonsentence.
Hey, I'm old, and also could not remember the password to the account that MFP was on. CAN YOU F'N BELIEVE THAT YAHOO WANTS $12.99 a month to find your password??? I'm havin' that sucker tatooed on my arm !!
Anywho...I've been following. So nice to see the regulars still here...and the newbies. More recipies, and vacation suggestions, please. The recipies I will adapt to 1 + Cat and the vacations to "just before sleep dreams".
Waving hello to @MissMay , thanks for continuing this thread .
