Katla, I am so glad you were able to get into the doctor and found one you liked!
So darling Rebecca! Cute stuff.
Pip, I feel for you. Don't know what else to say. Haven't been in your position, but I feel for you. I'd be a "JUST TELL ME" kinda gal too.
OMG Michele, I haven't heard Tfal in eons! HATED that stuff. What a crock. Never worked. Good luck with the pool.
Had a wonderful corned beef and cabbage dinner last night and the grands loved it! Go figure!

Walked again yesterday for 30 minutes. During the first lap I stopped 3 times doing it he yoga bird stance twice and the warrior twice. Second lap I did 10 standing push ups each stop. Definitely feel those today!
Under calories again for day 3! Yay!
Dentist today and a video call I’m kinda dreading with DS. We have 20 minutes so gotta make it count.
Hugs, prayers, and love, and thank you’s to all of you!

Well, Gloriosky Zero, as my mother would say. Finally got in touch with a Social Security person instead of a voicemail box. Supposedly, the error has been corrected. If I didn't say already, they had entered my birthplace as Minot, NC (North Carolina), instead of Minot, ND (North Dakota). There is no Minot, North Carolina, and never has been. Just a typo. For my sins, I've been on hold for hours and in interminable voicemail hell to try to get this one little thing sorted out. Grf and hrumph.
But, over now, and helped me procrastinate on my office cleanout once more. Diving back in to the paperstorm.... now. If you've ever seen the Big Bang scene where Sheldon is in the ball pit, playing keep away from Leonard, that's how I envision this.
Love y'all,
Later,
Lisa7 -
Rita hugs to you and best wishes for progress with your son.
I did 58 mins of yoga, eight mins of elliptical, and six mins of marching. Yay! My crow pose is getting ever so slightly closer to a balance. I still need stronger wrists.
Today's errands include more grocery shopping and dyeing my hair before my sister comes late tonight. I left my hair for the last minute, and I know better. Yet still I am relaxing after my exercise. Procrastination!

Good day to all. I missed a few days. Spending some time in Phoenix with friends/family. It’s gorgeous weather here, but their pool is still a bit too chilly for me to jump in without a wetsuit.
When I drove here, I had half a tank of gas. I wanted to see if the prices were less in Arizona, so waited till crossing the state line. Yep. I paid $1 less per gallon. I will fill up there again before crossing the state line on the way back. Honestly, though, gas prices are the least of my worries and even if I wait, it will be about $6 difference. I won't need gas after this trip for months.
Kelly-I love, love, love how much effort you put into entertaining your daycare kids. You are incredibly creative and it’s obvious that you love caring for those little ones.
Katla-Glad your DH got to see the doctor. Hope he’s on the mend.
Barbie-Good thoughts sent your way for Jake.
Pip-Good thoughts to you too on the results. I hate how they make you wait. I look at it like, if it were cancerous and urgent, the doc would have called you already. But, I’m no doctor and I’m sure they have processes they have to follow. Hang in there. The 23rd isn’t far away.
Rebecca-I admire how your son “dad’s.” It’s obvious he loves that little girl to the moon and back.
Allie-It sounds like things are “cooling” with Carmine. That’s good. Glad you got your phone. I think people are generally honest. It’s just a relatively few bad ones that make us lose faith and trust.
Machka-You sound busier than ever.
Luanne-Thanks for the book recommendation about pressure points. I will see if that helps my knee.
Carol-I love that you painted clovers on the kids. I hated being pinched (still do), so now I have a green pair of pants and a shamrock t-shirt that I wear if I go out on St. Patrick’s Day. I look like a leprechaun. No one better get near me with pinching fingers.
Debbie-Glad you are on the mend.
Vicki-So sorry Jake is having trouble.
Have a great day!

Debbie--Glad you are starting to feel better. Do not over do to fast.
KJ--How fun for the kids to hunt for leprechauns and treasures.
Thank God it is Friday. No big plans for the weekend, just want to finish the baby blankets as the twins are going to be born this next Thursday.
Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND NE5 -
TGIF for all who are working and doing the best they can. I hope for needed rest for those who need it. 🌹

Pip ... I think the waiting on known test results is utter BS ... I have received test results over the phone for cancer (skin). And I only get a mammogram at a location that lets me talk with the radiologist immediately afterwards. No waiting for what is rightfully mine. I'm sorry you have to play this out-dated doctor/patient game.

Its really endearing.💖. Definitely a Daddy's girl. My daughter in law is great and all, but when she comes home from work, Athena does not particularly run to her, as she does with her dad if he's been away. I think for the most part, my son is just more confident. When I visited once when Athena was small, my son mentioned to me that his wife wasn't confident to take Athena out into the world by herself. It was always with him and her. I find that so strange, because the moment I could put my sons in a carrier, or stroller, I was out walking, or riding the bus somewhere! I think Athena has picked up on that. But yep, my son seems to be always doing something regarding art, or science. He has grow pans in the house, with tomatoes, and herbs. The kind that just uses water and special lights. Then the terrarium thing, and a bit ago had both Athena and her momma painting wooden boats. I am constantly impressed by how he fathers.👍💖

Today I bought no sweet things at the grocery, all savory. I announced to husband that I still had 1/2 a 85% cacao chocolate bar still in my cupboard, which impressed him! Went to Safeway to get my favorite hearty grain bread, and to see if they had these chips I like, that the commissary was out of. Well no bread, no chips. I looked at other brands and it was like nope. I like what I like, and I won't settle. So I left the store with not buying anything. Didn't even buy a slice of cake like I do sometimes. So calling that a sad little victory. I came home and made me a bowl of grapefruit segments. Making a pizza with some plain cheese frozen pizza, and adding some onions, sausage, tomatoes, spinach and olives. I will only have half of the cheese thin crust. 👍

I had a really long, but lovely phone call with my old yoga friend this afternoon. I'm thinking about getting on the train to visit her and the old yoga group in the not too distant future. She has been having urinary problems for ages and finally saw a female doctor. She thinks it's a prolapse. She has a specialist visit soon.
Otherwise I watched a detective series on BBC Wales. Very good third series. Half in Welsh with subtitles.
Had heavenly Tandoori chicken for dinner with roasted cauliflower. I left myself a small portion for an open sandwich for lunch tomorrow. 😋

Worked today then the soup kitchen. They’ve started serving inside but they also have the meals in a bag like we did before. I was bagging today. Afterwards went to Ingle’s to get some dry ice, Vince packed up the box for Jess, went to the post office to mail it, then bought gas. We have the Green Room tonight to see “Hallelujah Girls”
The plan for exercise is to do tomorrow is the Firm Super Cardio Mix DVD. This is a new one for me
Tracey – my problem is mindless eating at night too. Let me know if you have any “tricks”
Barbara – now that the Wii died, I just have to remember to weigh myself on the scale. If I forgot, I had the Wii weight. The more I think about it, I’m not going to get another one. I know Vince would get one for me, but since I’ve been working I really haven’t used the games. So why pay the $$$? I’m so sorry about your knee
You know, I can’t really figure it out. When I’m prepping at BK each day, usually there is some left from the day before. But it seems like every Monday there is a lot of catch-up. I thought “well, they’re probably busier on the weekend”. Yet, when I went in yesterday, there was a lot for me to catch up on. Maybe the person who does it on the weekends cuts corners???? Well, I guess I’d rather do it so I know it will get done the right way. Yesterday it was so warm that I put on shorts. Vince was in pants. He’s usually the one in shorts and I’m in pants. Same thing today, I’m in shorts and he’s in pants. I’ll probably put on pants when we go to the Green Room since it’ll start to get cooler
KJ – I am constantly in awe of all you do with your kiddos. How I wish PJ was one of your kids
M – I’m a religious gardener – “if God means for it to live, it’ll live”

I tried a new hair dye and it's not going well. I skipped my old tips to keep the red dye off my skin and now my hands look bloody. And my ears. And the edges of my face. That will last a day or two. The applicator was not good. So now I wait 45 mins then wash it out and see what the damage is.

Heather: 🥰rewilding the sidewalk with the bee bombs. I have to say, ours were less than successful last year.1
-
We have got daffodils in all sorts of unexpected places. None of them planted by us.
Plus hyacinths, ditto.
The things we did plant were last year's fabulous tulips that were in our big pot. We just shoved them in a bit of waste ground at the back of the garden. Yes, now flowering beautifully.
The pot is full of pansies and crocus. Tulips pushing through. The kids 'helped' us plant them. Must remember to send them a photo.
Our garden is completely unstructured, with very dense trees and bushes where birds nest. It is a wildlife haven. The foxes seem to have moved on though. We leave ivy for insects and dense cover. The only maintenance is cutting the grass. DH gave it its first cut today. He left uncut the patch of 'meadow' at the bottom where we sowed wildflowers two years running. I hope some of them will reappear. I like my garden 'untamed'.

Vicki and Tina- Thanks!! slowly getting better.
Rebecca- good job skipping the cake, especially beings it is on sale at Safeway for $1 for a nice big piece. Dh bought some for him, son, son's girlfriend and his mom. I ALMOST picked one up for myself but changed my mine. I have been having one or two of the Fiber One brownies that are 70cal. each. Not as good as regular brownies but they are already made and portion control!!
Michelle-maybe check about a used Wii to replace your other one. Better than paying full price, especially if you don't know how much you would use one. We have one our son bought. I always said I was going to try it, even bought a few things to go with it- nope, still haven't gotten on it. Maybe one day.
Took a Covid test today-negative- just to make sure. I have an old neighbor from when I was a kid, coming by tomorrow- Haven't seen her in about 45 yrs. There were three girls in their family and three in ours-they were just a few years older than us. We hung out together all the time-out in the country, they were our only close neighbors. We moved from their to the other valley when I was in 4th grade. She messaged me and said she was passing through town and wanted to stop by to visit. She went up and visited with my mom a few months ago and mom is still talking about it.
Mother in law made sukiyaki so dh and son are having that for dinner. Dh brought home some sushi so I had a little of that- only thing I have had so far today, besides tea, Nice not having to cook dinner.

My hair came out fine, the grey is covered and the dye mostly came off my skin. Yay! I was scared. I don't do makeup anymore; the hair dye is my only enhancement. It's important to me. I use henna which is a coating and works better for fine hair. Plus I was born with red hair, so it suits my coloring. Someday I will give it up, but not yet.

Well I broke down and told kirby what my weight was when he asked. He was a bit shocked. I told him 125 but it’s really 124.6. I weigh twice daily, in the morning and then after my workout. Today after the walk it was 124.4. I told him that since I have records of my weight, I’ll bring it up when we go to my appointment. I told him that my readouts are in the excellent/standard range. I am not trying to loose weight right now. I looked online and noted healthy foods to gain weight, I don’t want to just stuff myself with crap which is what he would want to give me.
My goal weight has always been 135. My ideal we Was 130 but the lowest I would get to was 132. Now that I am at this weight, it makes me think if I do have cancer after all. Not worried about it till we see the doc9 -
Pip-sorry you must wait for telling of results. I agree with you (and others), tell me the facts then if it is not such positive news, I can digest it, maybe research it, and when I come in for appointment I will be better prepared to discuss going forward plans. Congrats on making your 5 mile walk goal! And Pip-it is not unusual to lose weight while healing. And didn’t they remove a 10lb tumor? Maybe you really were weighing heavier due to that and you really haven’t changed much?
Tracey-I admire that you lost weight when you quit smoking!
Barbara Southern Oregon-that knee sounds very annoying. Hope they are able to provide some guidance on Monday.
Lisa-I think you are doing well on getting things done-especially given your up and down health issues. Good job getting place of birth sorted out. Since it was necessary and important, it did not waste the time, it just wasn’t efficient.
Julie-foot issues revealed to be Hallux rigidus in both feet. The boring story:Believe it may tie back to being born club footed. Right foot is due, in part, to an osteotomy surgery years ago to deal with bunion that was dropping to ball of foot (instead of side). That joint is completely fused. Left great toe is following suit on its own, very little space let in joint. Arthritis both feet. Pain resulting from lack of joint motion. Getting fitting for rigid orthotics, no sandals or flip flops (don’t wear them anyway). Will investigate some old lady tie type shoes after I get orthotics. Wider toe box, firm soles, etc. Doctor did tell me that movement is still the best thing for me and my pitiful feet. Orthotic support is most sensible thing to try first. Wants to keep gait correct so I don’t have other problems. After what I have gone through with hips and getting IT bands flexible, do’t want feet putting me back!Luannelizabeth-I think I will still check out the trigger point reference. Referred pain is everywhere. That book looks like it covers the basics.
KJ-great activity with the kids!
Barbie in NW WA-glad tests for Jake can be done locally.
Machka-gas prices are, indeed, getting high.
RVRita-congrats on calories and exercise. Hope video call went well.
Annie-you just keep improving!
Tina-enjoy Phoenix. I would think about flying out to see kids soon (they live in Chandler), but they will be here next month for wedding of youngest son.
Glad weekend is here. Just doing things around house and hope to file my taxes and my SIL. She hasn't had to file for years but evidently her social security form shows she is $26 dollars over the limit of not having to file. I think I will just use the free IRS filing form for her. I use Tax Act for mine. Not looking forward to what husband's social Security income may do to me!
Off to bed for the night.
Take care all,

Pip, when you said that the tumor weighed ten pounds, the first thing I thought was that it would make a difference in how much you would weigh. Do you feel frail and skinny or are you just noticing the numbers on the scale?2
