Getting ready to take my neighbor friend up to get measured for a new prosthesis for her breast. Her daughter would take her but she has covid.. so her daughter asked if I would take her,she would like to get it before mothers day and her birthday which are the same day this year she will be 92.. that will be my good deed for the day.
Already got the laundry done and went over with Alfie and got Homer outside.

I have a question for the technical among us - Windows 11 upgrade --- should I do it? will it have any problems with my USB to floppy external drive?

    "Floppy external drive"??

I upgraded to Windows 11. It's different and a little disconcerting at times but then again, my whole computer system is going through a bit of a hiccup right now and I'm sure when I have the time to sort things out, all will be well.

After all, what's life without changes!

My computer uses USB and C ports and Windows 11 seems to work just fine with them.

    Good morning ladies!
I had a lovely cup of "real" tea and am just waiting for the caffeine energy wave to wash over me. It's dreary outside, and I need to get groceries before it rains. My knee has been pain- free for a couple days but groceries will be the real test.

There will be no one to take care of me, either. I have a daughter who is 27 but she has refused to talk or text for three years now. She lives with my ex. It's very painful, especially around Mother's Day which is coming up. We never had a fight so I don't know why she ghosted me.

I never thought I would be a caretaker either. I was always the career woman. But I retired early for health reasons and my parents had room for me. I didn't think I would stay, and it took some getting used to, but now it is a loving relationship. I was going to say stable, but their needs change all the time.

I am lucky to have a loving home. They tell me daily how lucky they are to have me here. And my little dog too!

Flea, that is a very good reminder that perspective changes things. As someone who lives further away from my mom, I often defer to my brother and SIL and try to politely ask, "so mom appears to be..." before just blurting out "MOM IS...". I talk to my mom every day and hear things, but I don't deal with the things they deal with every time they see her.

Still Katla, it's always good to make your feelings known and make sure you are being respected when you're spoken to.

Can't wait until I'm able to sit on the porch sippin' "with you", Carol.

Love all those games, Michele, and being able to play outside without worrying about evil people wandering the streets. Thankfully, we still have that in our neighborhood. (I hope)

And here it is Tuesday in MN and we had a FREEZE WARNING LAST NIGHT!!! WTHeck?!? Yes, they were telling us to bring in our tender plants! OMG! So glad my AT specialist canceled our meeting and I don't have to go out today. lol. I'm getting to be such a wuss!

Busy day day yesterday, I got almost 10,000 steps (shy 250)! Long time since I did that, but good for me. Allergies and tendinitis in my right arm/elbow acting up today. Arm from using grabber to pick up trash 3 days in a row. Good exercise for my heart and legs but bad for my arm. I do have a special brace given me a long time ago for the ‘itis’. I used g to hat and it feels better. Lifelong issue so used to it.

DS drama has new issue, his landlord is evicting him. For no reason stated. His rent is up to date but landlord said ‘he just wants him out’. Can they legally do that?

Sorry about DS eviction! Being a renter, I believe they legally have to give a 30 day notice, but each state seems to be a bit different. I would have him contact his local housing authority, to know his rights. Good luck to him!
It made me tired reading all your physical activity friend! Pace yourself👍💖🙏!

Katla--Pray all goes well with your appointments and that you and the children can talk thing out.

I do remember most these old kids games and the pain that went with them. The worst was when they had to choose teams and I was always one of the last ones picked.

Heather--Sounds like it was a nice service and happy to hear you and DH watched together.

Rita--I wouldn't think they could without a valid reason, does he have a lease?

Got our will typed up this morning and now will have DH go over it with me tonight so we can get it signed. Feel better about that.

Another windy day, I am so tired of the wind and not being able to do much outside. Temp wise we are in the high 50's to 70. Could use more rain, but sounds like we could get some end of the week.

    Hi Gals,
Rita – Can they legally evict him, the answer is maybe. There are state laws, county laws and city laws that affect that in California… So “maybe” is super dependent on where he lives. But most counties have a office of renters assistance or tenant issues who can tell him (or you) what the rules are in his area.

Hi. I am Celia. I live in the Lake Tahoe are in California. This is the first time on the community section of MFP. I once weighed nearly 360 lbs. I lost 160 about 20 years ago. Since I have mostly hovered between 200 and 220, with a trip from 240 to 179 after gastric sleeve surgery. I have been at 211-217 for the last year. Even tracking calories doesn’t seem to get me anywhere like it used to. I decided I must not be honest with myself on serving sizes. Today I decided I would measure everything I eat to be sure. There is a lot of information out there that says it isn’t just calories in and calories out. I want to find out for myself. I am curious and eager to find out what you all are learning.

Don't know where the time has gone today.

Walked into town with my mum on her mobility scooter, it was hard keeping up with her :) but when she slowed down, it was a little too slow. The sun was shining and it was a pleasant walk, quite a few people in town, we get a lot of visitors/tourists this time of year. On our way home the weather turned cloudy and cold, we were glad to get back. It's the first time we've been in town for months, but mum needed to go to the bank.

Mowed the back lawn with my coat on :D then went inside and had a rest, I was shattered!

I mostly sleep on my side, but toss and turn all night. The cat woke me up early this morning, she was licking my eyelids it quite alarmed me :) then of course I had to go to the bathroom, it took me ages to get back to sleep. I hope she doesn't do that again!

Well I had better go and make something to eat, I need to find something healthy but low in calories to keep within my limit.

    Love to all <3

Ordered a mushroom pizza to share and pick up on our way home. Delicious! Still (just) within CICO. Mainly due to morning exercise and long, long walk this afternoon.

Bea was in great form. That girl is going to be a leader one day. She was bossing a group of five, some older than her, to make a magic potion. As we dragged her away, she told a girl, 'You're in charge now' :p
Her energy and enthusiasm for life is wonderful.

Now relaxing with a glass of red wine. I will pack in the morning. It's only one night.

    Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx
