9/4: 213.1
9/5: 212.6 Finally some movement! I’ve been stuck in the 213s since August 19th. It’s amazing what a weekend away from work can do for a person 🤪
9/6: 214.9! Like I said yesterday, it’s amazing what a weekend away from work can do for a person, also amazing what packing and moving my parents can do to my body-serious DOMS. 🔥
9/7: 213.9 I think I’m back to where I was when Round 197 started. Ah well, a little blip in the grand scheme of things.
9/8: 213.4
9/9: DNW
9/10: 214.9 (!) Yikes! I’ve been under my calorie goal but have been under a lot of stress and had to eat out yesterday which adds sodium. I think this will be my first round where I’ve actually gained which is a bummer. I can’t let this bother me too much, I have too many other things to worry about right now. Keep on truckin!
9/11: 213.1
Remembering those we lost 21 years ago today.
9/12: 212.1 I got some self care in this weekend, yoga and and a mani/pedi. I don’t think I’ll make it to my goal this round but I’ve learned a few things.7 -

8/29: 169.8 i'm super excited over this. i'm expecting it to go up again, because sat & sun were heavy carb. days.... but at least it looks like i can self monitor to not gain weight when the tools are not available.
8/30: 173.8 not exactly sure how deceitful that weight is. i have a dentist cleaning today, and am weighing in wearing my heavy bathrobe. i am expecting some weight gain from my heavy carb days also. oh well, i'll get it all figured out another day when i don't have morning appts.
8/31: 174.4 well now, all i can do is shake my head. i went shopping this morning, and gathered up some fruit and veggies. have already made myself a nice little kielbasa/green bean/ mushroom/potato/onion hash and portioned it out into 275 cal. portions. this weigh in is happening in the afternoon, so again.... not sure how deceitful the weight is. i know it's not far off (my short trip away, my friend made me cornbread.... i love cornbread) cornbread came home with me, i'm kinda in a hurry to get rid of it, so of course i'm eating it. can't waste a good cornbread. i did go for a walk this morning, so that's a plus.
9/1: 174.4 OK, now i know.... it's not a deceitful weight. it's my honest weight. it's looking like i most definitely CAN throw away good cornbread! calories were over by 130 yesterday, but that was prior to walking. getting back on track..... i really want to see the 160's!
9/2: 172.8
9/3: 171.2 i have no idea what's going on with me or my scale!
SW: 170.4
Day/Weight/Comment
9/4: 170.4 this is the weight i have to report on today. i wish it was higher (dang scale) so when i report next sunday it would look like a loss. there's a neighborhood cookout today. gonna try to stay away from the carbs. and the mixed drinks... good gosh, when i get together with these people they'll always hand me something and say "one little (insert food/drink here) isn't going to hurt ya." i can overcome "one little", but they don't seem to understand there's 30 of them! that's too many "one little's"!
9/5: 169.8 did not log meals yesterday because of the cookout. 99% of the food was especially bad for someone dieting. there was a charcuterie board that had a little corner of strawberries, everything else high fat/high carbs/high calories. my little dip in weight is probably from mega stress i've been trying to deal with which slammed my emotions hard yesterday. this morning the coping skills back in check. i haven't been able to go for walks for some time now. Dr. tells me it's sciatica, but i've had constant pain for over a year now. the pain flares up to a point that i just don't want to move at all. taking anti inflammatory and muscle relaxers is not helping, and my follow-up is not until the 29th. i may end up trying to see him again sooner.
9/6: 169.2 have to take an unexpected trip for a few days. i hopefully should be back before this challenge ends.
9/7:
9/8:
9/9:
9/10:
9/11: 168.2 only visited the scale once today, so that's probably not a valid weight. i'm expecting it to be higher once i get back into my regular routine. they had a spring/analog scale where i was at, and it said i was 170. probably more accurate.
9/12: 169.8 another invalid weight. it's afternoon, i've already eaten, and i'm fully dressed. it's an encouraging weight also though, because i've broken all my rules for weigh in and i'm still below 170!

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

I have done this challenge before and it really helped keep me on track to healthy living. I have since gained most of that weight back (and then some) but I'm not discouraged. I am a 21-year old varsity college athlete who is just looking to lean up a bit - taking small goals at a time as weight-loss isn't my goal - just trying to lean myself into a healthier lifestyle.Round 146: -5.1lbs

9/4: 186.0 - a pleasant surprise. Did not count calories yesterday as I had a game and usually nutrition-wise I am usually a little more lenient as I tend to consume a lot in preparation for a high-intensity match with large cal burns. Last night was also a night of drinking which may turn out to be my vice when it comes to healthy living. A lot less motivated today to do anything such as meal prep on my day off.
9/5: 188.0 - yikes. hoping this is just a fluke. Off from exercise all week due to an injury so the deficit is especially important.
9/6: 185.8 - first pumpkin spiced latte of the season yesterday and omg... it was so good
9/7: 186.2
9/8: 185.0 - doing shockingly well considering the lack of exercise
9/9: 184.8
9/10: 184.8 - it's been tough not binge eating the past few days with stress... going out drinking tonight again so tomorrow's numbers may not be great. If anyone has suggestions for indulging with drinks while sticking to a deficit they would be muchly appreciated. I tend to drink seltzers anyway.
9/11: 183.4
9/12: 184.0 - love this challenge and seeing the small decreases over time. It's so motivating.

I am about 8 kg along the way to lose 32 kg. I use multiple tape measurements (cm) around my body because they aren't affected by salt intake. My weight has been dropping for 5 months now. Apparently I've been trying to lose weight since September 2012, the last time I was at goal weight. Let's see if stopping eating sugary food is going to change things.

How this round went: unfortunately I gained this round. That's disappointing because I had 16 rounds of consecutive losses. Hopefully that's the last of my gains. Exercise is going well. Still having sugar.

9/13 - 156.1 - Darn it. I was having a day yesterday. I guess the best way to put it: I'm an energetic person. I like feeling the energy in the room, the energy around people, the relaxing feeling of nature, etc. I guess it's how I connect with the world. Good, bad, and ugly I gotta feel something. Yesterday, I felt nothing. Like a little void of energy. Not quite an out of body experience, but it was odd like one. I feel better this morning, more connected to reality. With that said, I ate. Because I couldn't quite "feel" I ate to fill that feeling. It wasn't horrid. According to Fitbit, I was about 30 calories under what I burned for the day so maintenance. But it was enough to tick me up on the scale, boo! What also didn't help? Sunday we had "linner" and I was hungry extra early. No fasting really doesn't help me. Today I must be cautious. They had tortilla chips buy one get one free and the kid LOVES chips and salsa. Except he hasn't been eating them lately so now I have a surplus. Solution? Taco Tuesday (we make Mexican food in general to switch things up) will be nachos. I'll remember to take my lactose pill this time to offset cheese. I hope. Also will try to fast until lunch. I'm running late getting up this morning as I woke up in the middle of a dream (and hit snooze to see what happened. Still didn't find out, ugh) so I'm doing a shortie on the rower. Very groggy, too, so probably good to do something short so I don't quit out of tiredness. Hopefully today goes a little smoother. Going to set up a time to meditate a little later, as well, to help me focus. Despite the scale, I'm rather glad to be "feeling" again and hoping this is what I need to stay on track

9/06 - Long weekend. We did end up feeling well enough to help Fam with some house remodel work (demolition stuff). Because of all the sweat and muscle soreness, I didn't bother to weigh in. Unfortunately FamHubs ended up going home early yesterday and later had a fever. FamWife had that Saturday so we are thinking she gave it to him just by proximity, similar to BF giving it to me. Spent the rest of the evening at home relaxing and drinking plenty of water. I was off yesterday for holiday and it's my Friday off this week so only 3 days requiring me to be up early. I'm going to see how I feel come Friday whether I want to go ahead and wake up for a workout. Today will be an easy 20 minute recovery row to gauge how I feel after a week of no workouts and to ease back into movement. Back to logging and plenty of water! And plenty of catching up on posts to do, as well!
9/07 - Scale teased me this morning by flashing 154.9 a few times before settling on this. Food was wonderful, I managed to keep it balanced pretty well. Under goal by 100 calories and didn't eat back the "300" calories I supposedly burned extra. I don't think I actually burn that much extra in a day so I'm just aiming for goal calories anyway. 96oz water down the hatch yesterday so back into that groove of things. Challenge to get up again this morning and hit my 15 min snooze. I used up almost all that snooze time, too, when I usually only use about 5 minutes of it before I manage to get up. Oof. A week of sleeping in really undid some of my routine. Yesterday's rowing was only 10 minutes, not the 20 I thought I'd do. It was a challenge and I took it easy on myself as my first row after recovering from a nasty cold. Today I have a 30 minute full workout queued up. The workout itself is 20 minutes, but it includes a row-focused warmup and cooldown so I'm still getting in extra reps to get back into the swing of things with morning workouts. If I can manage to convince my sleepy brain, I'm going to try to wake up early for a workout Friday just to really solidify the routine back in my life. Alright, I've procrastinated long enough, time to get some work in.
9/08 - BF made chicken enchiladas for dinner. With plenty of cheese. I ate about 87 calories over goal but had 206 exercise calories in the bank for the day. I'm guessing the cheese is what did the scale in this morning as everything else seemed right on track. I did wake up extra sore this morning from yesterday's workout of choice (I admit, I was super ambitious and I almost quit about 10 times during it. Way harder than I expected). Maybe some DOMS water weight as well? Today I'll take it a little easier with a 10 minute workout and some extra stretching (maybe a quick morning yoga?) Unsure dinner for tonight but I have lunch lined up and tracked already leaving plenty of room for dinner and maybe a small late breakfast if I need it.

9/12 - That's always really nice to see after a weekend. I've been focusing on being more mindful on the weekend. Not perfect, but trying to avoid undoing all the work week's efforts. Seems it paid off a tad bit. It's a smidgen inspiring me to do a workout despite feeling so dang tired. Buuuut I am seeing amazing results from this so I'm continuing despite being so sleepy. 1. It's easier to meet my calorie goals since I have a buffer from exercise calories. 2. It helps wake me up and get those feel good endorphins first thing 3. According to my Sleep Number bed app, my resting heart rate went from in the 90s to last night was 57 with an average now about 66. My Heart Rate Variability (supposedly an adaptable nervous system) increased really well, too. Fitbit shows these numbers trending in the right direction, too. 4. I feel accomplished in SOMETHING at least once a day during the week. Now to figure out what workout I'm going to do that isn't so intimidating to me to just get started. Once I'm started, I'll finish because I'm stubborn like that... Then 3 days worth of posts to catch up on!

1. Generally, show some semblance of discipline. Exercise more. Eat less.

/nice bike ride/ That is the good news. The bad news is that I tweaked my back lifting DW’s E-bike up on the car bike rack. Trying to be careful.
Pardon if the following is TMI. This is not required, but we do share some medical info here from time to time. On the 7th I have a routine colonoscopy which will probably affect my scale readings for a day or two. On the 12th I have a Prostate biopsy.
On the brighter side, we went to see Top Gun Maverick with friends on $3 Saturday. That was a thrill a minute. Every bit as good as the first one decades ago.

/walk/ Not sure why the lower readings the last couple days, but I will take it.

/very little walking/ Aaaaand a dairy queen last night. Aaaaaand fast food for lunch. No food today at all as a part of my “prep” for a medical procedure.
Yesterday evening we cooked fish in our air fryer for the first time. Used some crappie (pan fish) from our freezer. It was fantastic!

/hard spinning class/ Typical findings. Home from work today to let anesthesia wear off. Good thing, I can’t walk a chalk line.

/walk around the blocks/ Kind of over-indulged yesterday. Took too much pizza at Rotary Luncheon. I bit too much chips and salsa (SALTsa) last night.

9/4 120.5 I got together with my “old” gal pals yesterday. Charcuterie board, “Buffalo” nuts and toffee nuts as well as a couple of adult beverages. I had “made” the nuts and discovered that a lot of the Buffalo seasoning was in the box so was ate some of that after I got home and drank lots of water. Perhaps I have retained some H2O but still no TMI. Maybe the excess water will help. 🤷♀️🤷♀️ Not concerned
9/5 120.5 Great Greek yesterday and left overs today. DH surgery tomorrow. Still no TMI - stress related? Finally TMI long after weighing.
9/6 120.0 Leaving in 30 minutes to take DH for shoulder replacement.
9/7 120.5 Surgery went well. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. Now to survive the recovery! heehee **Headache, upset stomach and much TMI - sure this is stress related
9/8 119.5 DH is home in one piece. He’s in pain and feels “miserable.” I think I slept well last night. Maybe I didn’t sleep well, I can’t stop yawning.
9/9 119.5 Yesterday was pretty much a protein day.
9/10 119.0 I got 8.5 hours of sleep last night. We had a surprise visit yesterday from DGGS and his grandparents while his mom was still at work. It was a nice surprise but we were both worn out. I slept an unheard of 8.5 hours last night. Today I’m picking up a grocery order.
9/11 119.0 Terrible sleep
9/12 119.5 DH is doing better without the narcotic pain killer. I serious thought he might have had a stroke-it was scary. DD#1 arrives this afternoon. My posts for the rest of the week (into Rnd 199) will be short. Still need big TMI (1078.0)
9/13 119.5 DSIL picked up DD#1 (his SIL) at the airport so I didn’t have to leave DH alone. So thankful for him and DD#1 helping.5 -
See you tomorrow in Rnd 199!!

Previous days' comments behind spoiler.9/4-133.8. Not surprised to see a gain. We had sushi and dim sum takeout last night for our anniversary. I did go overboard but most of the gain is probably attributable to salt and TOM’s unexpected arrival. I’ll get back in the saddle today.9/13 - 128.8. We made it through another round! Woohoo! I didn't quite reach my goal of 128 but hopefully I will see it next round
9/5 - 130.2 Phew, glad to see the water loss today even though I was confident I couldn’t have done that much damage in a day. DH and I are still testing positive for covid on Day 8. The kids aren’t but we just presumed they were positive anyway. They still have symptoms, so deciding whether or not they can go back to daycare is tough. Selfishly, I would rather send them, but if I were a parent of another child in the daycare I would want them to stay home until the sniffles are gone. Ah the mental gymnastics required by parenting through a pandemic I would rather not have experienced. Ugh. Anyway I just finished up a good Peloton ride and am going to try to relax with the family for the rest of the day. Have a good holiday, to whom it applies!
9/6 - 130.2. I am determined to see the 120s this week! Turns out the kids aren’t even allowed at daycare until 10 days after symptoms onset, so my littlest is home until at least Thursday and the 3 year old is home for the rest of the week. Also my husband and I are not allowed in the building until we test negative, so I’m not sure how that would work anyway. Covid sucks.
9/7 - 130.2 AGAIN. Ah well, it'll catch up with me I'm sure. I made a really salty stir fry last night. I ended up going for a jog last night after my youngest's bedtime because I was grumpy and didn't get a chance to work out yesterday between work and childcare. I'm hoping we can find more balance, or at least more zen, today as we try to manage this.
9/8 - 130.4. Maybe I won’t see the 120s this week after all. I had salty leftovers last night so I’m hoping I can up my water and see better results. But if I’m being honest with myself I am not making the best food choices. This week has been so hard. I know a lot of people have it a lot worse but I’ve certainly been throwing myself a little pity party. We did have a better day at home yesterday, but then my youngest was up every hour from 10 to 3 last night then awake for the day at 6:15. I'm really not sure what's going on with him.
9/9 - 131.6. Kinda perplexed by this other than the salty foods I’ve been cooking this week. Very weird because I weighed the same when I stepped on the scale last night. Ah well, gotta ride the fluctuations.
9/10 - 130.2. Still no loss this round but I am no longer perplexed. There is something amiss in my calorie goal on MFP. I need to check out my settings. When I met my goal on MFP yesterday I thought my calorie count seemed high. I looked at my Fitbit data and I had pretty much broken even for the day, so maintaining my weight absolutely makes sense! Glad I sleuthed that one out. Happy Saturday everyone!
9/11 - 130.4. The 120s are so elusive. I ran a 9/11 memorial virtual 5k this morning. Felt good to run a “race” even though I was alone. Going to try to clean the house today and hope to get back to normal post-covid life (and daycare!) tomorrow.

9/12 - 128.8! I made it into the 120s! Probably helped that I lowered my calorie goal two days ago. I realized I had it set to half a pound per week, thinking that would allow enough extra calories for breastfeeding. But in reality I'm not making much milk anymore so it doesn't burn a significant number of calories at this point. I find eating 1200 calories a day very challenging and diety though, so I hope I hit my ultimate goal soon and can go back to eating maintenance. I think I'm going to target 20 hour fasts this week so that I have shorter eating windows. That should keep the ball rolling and keep my calories low. Planned rest day today after my 5k yesterday, may just do some restorative yoga at lunch time. Happy Monday!7 -

I don’t think I’ll make it to my goal this round but I’ve learned a few things.
9/13: 210.7! (I weighed myself 3 times to make sure) So I guess I did make it to goal. It kind of makes sense because I was up all night peeing. I guess my body decided to let go of some water and hopefully some stress!
Total loss this round: 2.4 pounds

Please join us starting on 9/4 for JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, when we will begin Round 198!
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.

What I learned; 1) take a break from exercising every 4-6 days 2) put ice in the wine glass 3) add lots of Protein daily 4) break long exercise routines into 20-minute exercises routines 5) slow and steady wins the race and keeps the weight off 6) enjoy the ride and stop kicking the scale
A cocktail party tonight so I have no idea what the results of that will be tomorrow on my diet. THANKS FOR THIS ROUND, AS IT HAS HELPED KEEP ME FOCUSED

Day/Weight/Comment
9/4: 134.9 - Holding steady. Finally finished most of the leftovers from our dinner party on Tuesday. Finally seeing some daylight in the refrigerator and freezer. Got my workout in, but spent most of the day doing sourdough-related prep (2 Tartine Country Loaves, 2 cranberry-walnut loaves, 2 ciabatta loaves, 4 balls of pizza dough). Most of those will go home with my daughter and her boyfriend or into the freezer.
9/5: 133.4 - Yesterday was a bit of an odd day. Lots of baking (in the heat) and then daughter requested a spring roll salad that I had made before and a blueberry pie since she had 7 pounds of blueberries she was bringing from Washington. Added those two things (plus the ice cream to go on top of the pie) to my diary and realized that almost all my calories for the day were going to into that one meal. Decided the high-octane calories from the Trader Joe’s Vanilla ice cream wasn’t worth it and went and got a “light” version. Also decided that probably should do an OMAD day and it worked out pretty well. This is why it is important to track and pre-track.
9/6: 132.4 - Got my jazzercise in very early in the day while we could still have the window’s open. Temperatures hit 108F in our area, which is waaaaay above normal for us. Luckily we have air conditioning and I succumbed to turn it on around 4pm. We have 4 more scorching days forecasted, so unfortunately the AC will be on more than it has ever been (we at most turn it on once or twice a summer). Tried to keep all this in mind with my eating and had a heavier salad for lunch (leftover spring roll salad with peanut sauce) and a light salad for dinner. Pre-planned for the the leftover blueberry pie and ice cream so stayed under calories.
9/7: 131.4 - After having tracked for just over a year now, sometimes I still don’t understand how this all works. Could it be this excessive heat we’re having that is sapping up all the water weight? I feel like I’m hydrating enough, but who knows. I guess we’ll see when (hopefully) this heat wave breaks in a couple of days.
9/8: 131.4 - Another high heat day, so got my workouts done early. The rest of the day was spent hydrating and trying to stay cool.
9/9: 132.9 - The scale taketh, the scale giveth. Another excessive heat day. Got my workouts in before noon but it was still hot. Hopefully today is the last day. Ate fairly well but mostly stayed indoors and sat around all day.
9/10: 132.5 - Got my workout in early since we were doing our volunteer gig all morning and it was expected to be another hot day. The heat wave is finally breaking though. I was so sick of salads after a week of them for lunch and dinner that I ended up having avocado toast on homemade sourdough bread and dinner was also carb heavy with bucatini with zucchini butter and pesto (Smitten Kitchen). Really delicious and fit within my calorie plan. We’ve been getting those mini seedless watermelons lately and they are so refreshing for so few calories.
9/11: 133.5 - Very high-sodium meal last night and later than usual
9/12: 132.3 - Normal workout, but didn’t get my workout in as we were preparing for an overnight guest. Luckily the house has stayed pretty clean from when we did the whole house spring/summer cleaning about a month ago. Made a somewhat light dinner and dessert.
9/13: 132.3 - Went over calories the last two nights. I’ll take the scale loss, but know it will bounce up after some ill-advised evening munchies. Got my workout in late in the afternoon.
