they have costco in England?! who knew?

    We do indeed Ma'am 😊

I have mayonnaise and ketchup to last through to 2024! 😊

If it is not Hellman's mayonnaise you might as well throw it away..... :#

@SummerSkier Do I dare ask what your views on 'Light Mayo' are?!? Lol 😂

Hey guys. (I'm not really back, just had a question for y'all and then saw @eleanorhawkins talking about poles, which I do have an opinion on that might be helpful...)

Trekking poles are great in the mountains. In my experience they're great for going uphill, and it gives your arms something productive to do. You can stow them going downhill, carry at your side, or hold them ready to assist with balance (hands OUT of straps going downhill, so a fall doesn't result in a broken wrist). Definitely get ones that fold up small enough to attach to your pack though. The cheap Decathlon "collapsible" set I got first really only collapse in half, so they're still way too long and are annoying to deal with even when it's my kid that is using them. I've tried so many different ways of attaching them to a pack. It's useless. You need poles to fold up at least into three sections. Also there's a difference between "nordic walking" poles and trail running "trekking" poles, so get ones marketed for trail running.

I love these - Viking Kettera Pro poles

I know, it's hard to see them in these pictures. They collapse, then fold into 3 sections, and fit nicely on the outside of my pack. They also come with a carrying bag.

My question: for those of you with strap HR monitors, can you use them for 24-hr monitoring? And does it record everything so that you could go back and see all of your stats? I've heard good things about the accuracy of the Polar H10 but am not sure if all these strap-sensors are geared more towards just workouts, or if a person trying to recover from a chronic-fatigue-like illness could use it to monitor all the time. I get annoyed having a watch on my wrist, and optical sensors aren't as accurate, so I'm looking for something a little better.

    56.60/70 mile goal

Cleaned house this morning, waiting for the temp to warm up so I would run outside. I really had hoped to run out the road today, where it is relatively flatter, but since Tippy hasn't had much chance to run around the last two days, I opted to run on the driveway so she could run around too. (If I ran out the road, I would tie her out so she wouldn't follow me. If I run on the driveway, I just let her loose and she runs some on the driveway, into the neighbor's field, and who knows where else before she decides to lay in front of the garage door and watch me with a judgmental eye as I make my rounds. LOL) It was 57°F to 61°F while I was out. Had gotten cloudy, but not bad.

I ran/walked 5.0 miles in 1h8m38s for an average pace of 13:44 min/mile. My best mile was the first one at 13:25 min and the slowest was the 4th at 14:12 minutes. Avg HR was 141 bpm. Max was 152 bpm at the end when I kicked the finish. Otherwise it was at or below 149 the entire time.

When I finished, I rested a few minutes and then mom and I took our neighbor's dog for another walk since it was so warm.

    Waiting patiently for a treat.

    Watching the water go by.
When I came home, I cleaned out the gutters and blew/swept off the porches again. I didn't turn my Garmin on for that, because I really had not intended to do as much as I did. Now.....I'm beat.

Glad to know you are at least checking in every once in a while @polskagirl01 ! Sorry I can't help with your question. I had a check strap when I got my first Garmin, but only used it when running. I hope it will do what you want it to.

    @quilteryoyo Tippy is so cute!

@martaindale I'm glad the swelling is down and there is no pain. Good job on being strong and waiting until after Tuesday to run.

    Good morning all.

    This was a struggle!

Feel like that Danny Glover character from Lethal Weapon "I'm getting too old for this *kitten*".

@shanaber not a huge Avo fan. I like it in Guac/Tex MEX, and thinly sliced over a salad... But not in my burgers, and definitely not as a substitute for mayo!

    Have a nice Sunday everyone!

@martaindale I'm glad the swelling has gone down and you can tippy toe with no pain. Also glad you are resisting the urge to run. Wait and see what the doctor says. Hopefully he'll say you're ok to run as much as you want, but I wouldn't until after your appointment.

@kgirlhart That picture is of my neighbor's dog, Esther. They are out of town and I am helping to take care of her, so felt she needed some good walks. Here is a picture of Tippy.

Tippy and her upside down empty peanut butter jar she just licked clean. It reminded me of someone doing shots and turning the shot glass upside down.

@shanaber Yes, that is the dog that had the puppies a little over a year ago. Love that you had such a long walk and saw the egret. Does that body of water connect to another? Maybe the fish manage to migrate down when it is dried up?

@tarun_yadavA You did great for having a hangover. At least you go ahead and run and don't use it as an excuse. The world cup will be over soon and then you can get back to normal.

@quilteryoyo thank you! I try and force a run the day after drinking... Just takes a good 2-3 days to get back in the zone!
    Also - what a handsome dog! 😊

@quilteryoyo that really is a most handsome pup your neighbor's have! Love the photos. And great job getting your running in. Are you counting down the days until your race in Dec? I wonder if Scott's marathon is the same weekend?

    total: 76.18/80.5km (3.3km ahead)

Went well until about 40 mins in, and then a very strong wind came out of nowhere and drained my energy. No, running against wind is not for me. This was all that was possible today.

@tarun_yadavA I have to say that light mayo is OK (I have some in my fridge right now!) as long as it is Hellman's. B)

My running is FINALLY back on track after almost 3 months of struggle. And not really just the weather. I think that I had a long reaction to the bivalent shot which I got in early Sept. Nothing specific except my RHR which is normally mid to high 50's (57 avg) was staying up about 5-6 points and I just never felt in a good groove. It started dropping again these past few days and all of a sudden I can put the afterburners on better. So strange. I think I might have taken my last covid shot based on very little evidence but a gut feeling that it effected my heart and system. And no don't think it was a microchip. ;)

Anyway the weather was FINALLY perfect after almost 2 weeks of cold and drizzle and general Nov Tex weather. It was high 40's clear and little wind and warmed up to the 50's by the time I was done. I did order a set of sleeves because I think they would be perfect instead of a jacket for this type weather.

7 miler today total 134.7 for the month out of 120 goal. 41 day streak and only about 92 miles left to hit my 1500 goal. I did sign up for run the year for next year because I think it really did encourage more activity for me in 2020 even if the mileage was a little much to do as just running. I think I will include the walking next year.

@quilteryoyo - the water the egret is standing in is our (channeled) river. There is a reservoir a ways north of us so I suppose they could come down from there but they let so little water out at a time, especially with the drought that IDK...🤷🏻‍♀️

No run for me today. I had planned to go but just have too much to get done today and tomorrow. Hoping to get our tree and decorations up before we leave on Tuesday.

    Thanks @tarun_yadavA .

Thanks @SummerSkier . Both the pups are girls, btw. I think my race is the same day as @Scott6255 's marathon. Only 13 days away!

@yirara Great job doing what you could do. Running in the wind is hard.

@SummerSkier You have been doing great with your running, esp. if you were feeling "off." You amaze me. And, yes, Tippy has two different colored eyes. That's the thing that drew me to her and not her sister, who were both at the Humane Society.

@Scott6255 Great job on the 12 mile "faster" run and congrats on 2000 consecutive days of logging into MFP! You're going to do great on your marathon!

I did my normal Sunday mile walk between church and lunch today. I had considered running some, but mom wanted us to go visit an elderly friend...she's 92 yo, so we did that this afternoon. I'm so glad we did. She is lonely and was very appreciative of us coming to see her.

Just a quick mile this morning for the streak. It was cold so I ran instead of walking. Tomorrow should be nice and then it is supposed to get cold again, but I don't think we are expecting rain. I need a few days of sunshine.

@tarun_yadavA Congratulations on hitting your goal!

    @Teresa502 You all look beautiful!
