Our big family dinner is today. Tomorrow will not be good on the scale, but I will begin the task of getting it back down this week. No excuses….there is some new fat in this weight!

Mind if I join? I could really use the accountability. I was here before, last year, and doing well but I fell off the wagon 😞.

2012, my 1st diet—230.8, got down to 180s then relapsed.
2021–212.6. Got down to 159.2.

Day 29–12/24–182.4–very busy shift last night, no water intake. Tonight doesn’t look much better, three nurses short. Gotta find a way to get the water in, though.

I want to see how much I can lose, starting off with something relatively easy, 50 grams a day. Each 20 day block I want to increase the amount I lose each day. Goal day is calculated using 7 day averages most recently and a month ago.
Day 01 27-Nov 88.2 kg, goal day in 715 days, so I overate, but that's alright because I always overeat the day I restart my weight loss
Day 02 28-Nov 88.5, goal day in 780 days, I overate again, I guess this is why my weight loss is very slow
Day 03 29-Nov 88.2, goal day in 650 days, I ate too much unfortunately
Day 04 30-Nov 88.1, goal day in 630 days, I didn't overeat, but I think I didn't eat below maintenance
Day 05 1-Dec 87.6, goal day in 660 days
I was doing well throughout the day then I bought a large bag of chips unexpectedly
Day 06 2-Dec 88.7 goal day in 850 days, and I bought sausage and chips in the evening, I guess I should have predicted that, rather than overeating. I will see if I can eat below maintenance everyday until I can get back on track

Day 21 17-Dec 88.1 So I'm in Singapore briefly right now and the obesity rate is 9% compared to New Zealand's 35%. It's quite a noticeable difference. It's a constant reminder that if I am ever to achieve my goals I'm going to have to start today. So I'm going to aim for a 3 grams per day trendline reduction on my weights spreadsheet graph today. Tomorrow will be 6 grams a day etc etc. Currently it's 4.6 grams per day although that number will jiggle up and down a lot which is fine.

Day 26 22-Dec 88.0 So I'm relatively settled here in the Philippines and finally living with my girlfriend. My spreadsheet trendline is dropping by 41 grams a day which I'm happy about. It's my first time I've had a girlfriend who is slimmer than me (together longer than 6 weeks) so I'm going to try and use that to help lose weight

So we shifted hotels and I only ate apples and crackers today, not a good menu plan, hopefully we get into a proper food buying routine soon

Day 28 24-Dec 88.5 I had some sugary food today, which means that I went about 5-6 days without sugar, a huge achievement for me. My weight loss is happening, but it's quite slow, Christmas day is tomorrow and I expect to gain a bit then. So things are happening slowly
Day 29 25-Dec 87.7 trendline 22 g/day which is okay
Christmas Day saw me eating a lot of cake (plus some chickpeas surprisingly) and not much else. I guess I gained weight today. That's fine, thankfully Christmas comes only once a year. I want to speed up my weight loss, let's see if I can do that.

I'm having trouble figuring out what to eat here, it's hard to get quality food without walking a while, I guess I'm used to driving to the supermarket, now I don't have a car. I didn't expect to have such simple problems causing me to slow down my weight loss.

Day 32-12/27-200.8-(Trend weight 198.9) A 0.2 lb gain after my Big Christmas feast yesterday is not too bad. Pushing leftovers, fudge and cookies on everyone now. Gotta get it out of the house! When I mentioned the 10 pound challenge to @Lilylady3k on Dec 10th my weight was 198.4. Now I have to lose 12 ½ pounds instead of 10, but that’s okay. I’m going to start working on it right away. Easter will be here before we know it as time passes so fast these days! I’m disappointed to be back in the 200’s but I’m not gonna let it last long!

Burned many many calories out cross country skiing decorated Mistletoe Lane in the community forest here for hours on Christmas Day. Maybe that will catch up with some weight loss this week. The weather has turned here and will be above the freezing mark for the rest of this week, so the skis can come out of my car. Back to work this morning, it was a perfect beautiful Christmas for me, getting out onto the snowy trails.

Tomorrow will be 6 grams a day etc etc. Currently it's 4.6 grams per day although that number will jiggle up and down a lot which is fine.

You might be surprised that some of those foods are already in the MFP tracker, it is pretty global.
Your new eating could go either way, maybe you will actually lose weight by having to walk so far for groceries.
I hope that you find something delicious and healthy there as a new staple for yourself.

The weather has really turned here, and coming home from my pedicure with flip flops on so as not to wreck my polish had me having to walk through 3 or 4 inches of cold water sitting on top of ice because my sidewalk into my house is lower than the street. Soooo happy that I got out for 2 days of cross country skiing before the extreme change in weather. Public skating at the arena during my work break on my split shift today : - ) Dinner will be late the next 2 nights because of my schedule. I really want to get back to my start weight and beyond. @deepwoodslady which day was the start of our "lose 10 pounds" so that I can look back and see what my weight was on that day.

Day 29 – 12/25 - 143.4 - Merry Christmas all : - ) I had my first Christmas dinner last night, lots of stuff, but careful portions. I will eat the same thing the whole week, 400 calories, turkey, yam, gravy, stuffing, brussels sprouts, rutabaga, potato, cranberry sauce. Going to get out on the cross country skis before the weather gets too warm.
Day 30 – 12/26 - 143.6 - A few indulgences over a few days, but not too much damage. Burned many many calories out cross country skiing decorated Mistletoe Lane in the community forest here for hours on Christmas Day. Maybe that will catch up with some weight loss this week. The weather has turned here and will be above the freezing mark for the rest of this week, so the skis can come out of my car. Back to work this morning, it was a perfect beautiful Christmas for me, getting out onto the snowy trails.
Day 31 – 12/27 - 142.8 - I was so happy eating my Christmas Dinner leftovers last night after work, and at a decent hour. Pedicure after work today, but I should be home by around 5:30 and am already excited about my dinner : - )
Day 32 – 12/28 - 142.6 - Another Christmas Dinner after my pedicure. The weather has really turned here, and coming home from my pedicure with flip flops on so as not to wreck my polish had me having to walk through 3 or 4 inches of cold water sitting on top of ice because my sidewalk into my house is lower than the street. Soooo happy that I got out for 2 days of cross country skiing before the extreme change in weather. Public skating at the arena during my work break on my split shift today : - ) Dinner will be late the next 2 nights because of my schedule. I really want to get back to my start weight and beyond. @deepwoodslady which day was the start of our "lose 10 pounds" so that I can look back and see what my weight was on that day.
Day 33 – 12/29 - 141.8 - A little surprised at the drop, dinner wasn't until 11pm last night. Maybe all of that cross country skiing finally kicked the scale? I had a 30 minute skate during my break yesterday. Still eating (portioned) Christmas dinner each night and enjoying that so much.

My mini-challenge is to lose 10 pounds by Easter 2023. I started my efforts on Dec. 10th weighing 198.4. My wish is to weigh 188.4 by Easter April 9th, 2023. That gives me about 4 months to lose 10 pounds. Sounds easy but, trust me, it won’t be. Especially when outside exercise is so limited for me this slippery time of year!

I am required to do a glucose check before I come and mine was at 366. The Christmas Feast 36 hours before on Monday night was still affecting me I think. And the stress of it all too. I’m not allowed to do the cardiology rehab on days that my sugar is running 300 or over. I’ve really got to figure out how to cut carbs without eating any fat due to my cholesterol.

Day 35-12/30-200.0-(Trend weight 199.2) I travel today a bit further than usual to get in some of that after-Christmas shopping and get son out of the house. I don’t want to go out tomorrow on New Year’s Eve if I don’t have too. We are going down to the city that has a Golden Corral. I’ll try to focus on the better stuff and stay away from the dessert table. I’ve had enough sugar through the holidays!

Golden Corral is like a buffet right? Those are so great for people who are picky (like me) or people that have allergies to certain foods. Nice to be able to pick just what you want on your plate.
Geez, no fats and having to cut carbs at the same time?? Eek. Like, egg whites, grilled chicken breasts, but what the heck else are you going to be able to eat for goodness sakes?
Thanks for posting the dates of the mini challenge. I will look back and see my weight on that day.
So funny that I never went above 138 the whole time in Mexico with those Margaritas and gorging myself on their fabulous Guacamole every day (amongst other things).1 -

Day 29 – 12/25 - 143.4 - Merry Christmas all : - ) I had my first Christmas dinner last night, lots of stuff, but careful portions. I will eat the same thing the whole week, 400 calories, turkey, yam, gravy, stuffing, brussels sprouts, rutabaga, potato, cranberry sauce. Going to get out on the cross country skis before the weather gets too warm.
Day 30 – 12/26 - 143.6 - A few indulgences over a few days, but not too much damage. Burned many many calories out cross country skiing decorated Mistletoe Lane in the community forest here for hours on Christmas Day. Maybe that will catch up with some weight loss this week. The weather has turned here and will be above the freezing mark for the rest of this week, so the skis can come out of my car. Back to work this morning, it was a perfect beautiful Christmas for me, getting out onto the snowy trails.
Day 31 – 12/27 - 142.8 - I was so happy eating my Christmas Dinner leftovers last night after work, and at a decent hour. Pedicure after work today, but I should be home by around 5:30 and am already excited about my dinner : - )
Day 32 – 12/28 - 142.6 - Another Christmas Dinner after my pedicure. The weather has really turned here, and coming home from my pedicure with flip flops on so as not to wreck my polish had me having to walk through 3 or 4 inches of cold water sitting on top of ice because my sidewalk into my house is lower than the street. Soooo happy that I got out for 2 days of cross country skiing before the extreme change in weather. Public skating at the arena during my work break on my split shift today : - ) Dinner will be late the next 2 nights because of my schedule. I really want to get back to my start weight and beyond. @deepwoodslady which day was the start of our "lose 10 pounds" so that I can look back and see what my weight was on that day.
Day 33 – 12/29 - 141.8 - A little surprised at the drop, dinner wasn't until 11pm last night. Maybe all of that cross country skiing finally kicked the scale? I had a 30 minute skate during my break yesterday. Still eating (portioned) Christmas dinner each night and enjoying that so much.
Day 34 – 12/30 - 141.8 - I had dinner by 9pm. Can't believe how happy I am to see the 141s when I was struggling so hard to see the 120s, but it is what it is. Friday nights are usually my indulgent night, maybe I will try to save that for NYE.

My Name is Donna, Age 62. I am 5’5” tall & I live in Northern Michigan USA
My mini-challenge is to lose 10 pounds by Easter 2023. I started my efforts on Dec. 10th weighing 198.4. My wish is to weigh 188.4 by Easter April 9th, 2023. That gives me about 4 months to lose 10 pounds. Sounds easy but, trust me, it won’t be. Especially when outside exercise is so limited for me this slippery time of year!
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Day 36-12/31-199.8-(Trend weight 199.2) My son & I decided last minute to go shopping in a big small town instead of further away in the big big town where they have Golden Corral. We both felt we just won’t not need that much food and keeping it under control can be hard there for small towners like us. I ended up with a trickle of a drop on the scale which is way better than a gain. I found a few bargains and a few new Christmas décor pieces at ½ off. I had the worst sleep (or lack thereof) of my life last night. Today is going to be a rough day! I’m not happy with the 3.6 lb gain during December. January I will pay the fiddler.

There will be Proscecco and indulgences tonight, NYE, of course I will log every BLT. Holiday eating actually saw me lose weight this week, but I did carefully portion out the yummy.
