Good Friday,
We broke record high on Wednesday-71f! Was wonderful! MachkaI am looking forward to summer! Today we are almost at our high of 31f plus cloudy.
The train accident is too far from me to make much difference at this time, but feel so badly for all the people it is affecting!
It has been a hard week. Migraine all week which means I am less tolerant of people in my space. My tolerance for people is also really BAD! For example, I haven't been home since before covid. I am going home to surprise my brother for his birthday on March 8th. Yes, it is in the middle of the week. Yes, I am taking it off through Saturday. DH is unsure as to if he wants to go. I DON'T CARE! He can come with or not. I am going home. My sister wants to come visit me in Ohio. She hasn't been to my home since 2009 and I haven't seen her in over 5 years! My sister in law says "I think you are taking too much time off!" REALLY!!??!! For my sister's visit I might take part of a Friday off and a Saturday. D****** I deserve to have time with my family! My DH has been rearranging things at work in a way that makes no sense to me. These are things that I deal with daily, why is he messing with them?!!?? RRRR! Lazy adults are pissing me off too. DH made some comment about why I was washing mowers. My reply was that apparently no one else knows how to take pride in their work. I am tired of being embarrassed to take mowers around that don't even look like they got washed. Also tired of having to double check the mechanics work! The music in the truck isn't right, the temperature in the truck isn't right, the papers aren't filed right.......Like I said, it has been a hard week.So I disconnected my phone from the truck, he can listen to the d*** radio at work and in the truck. I found my earbuds and put one in and can listen to what I want. I put it in my left ear which is my good ear this makes the rest just background noise. Maybe I am just being overly sensitive, but I really do know how to do my job, how to work on mowers, how to organize things, how to take care of our home.
Anyway, that is why I have been quiet on here. I still have Echo (which isn't up yet) and Stihl training to get done. All of the rest are done even ahead of deadlines. Paperwork caught up to yesterday morning. I tried to start on that this morning, but couldn't concentrate. Will have to do at work. DH and I have to go to a lawyer this morning for will reading for our recently passed friend.
HUGS!
SAFE travels!
Lots of LOVE and APPRECIATION for EACH and EVERYONE of You!!!

In Ohio being a little witchy
Maybe you should take a couple of weeks off and go see your brother and your sister. Let your hub and his sister run their business without you.
Of course, the downside of this is you would come back to a complete and utter mess.
Hugs friend!

My Week
I've also taken to listening to music at my desk at work with both ear buds in. The minute I take one out my difficult work colleague wants to talk to me, and it is rarely just a normal conversation. I listen to ABC Classic FM at work and in the car (when I drive somewhere on the weekends). The music helps me focus and helps keep me sane!
Tomorrow (Saturday), I'm going to haul rock. That'll help too.
From our garden ...

MANY years ago I tagged along on my hubs business trip to Taiwan. I was sitting at a desk by our friend working. I had both earbuds in and was listening to music to drown out all the noise. My hair covered the earbuds so you couldn't tell I had them in. Lunchtime came and apparently my friend asked me if I wanted to go to lunch several times and thought I was just being rude ignoring him. He was going to leave me. He tried again and waved a hand in front of me and I took out an earbud and asked what was up.......he laughed when he realized I hadn't heard him and said come on, let's go to lunch. We still laugh about it when we see each other and that was almost 20 years ago.

Betsy: Enjoy the cruise
Heather: Enjoyed the cards you made!
Michele: I am on Prolia. There has been some improvement. Sacral area is still pretty weak.
Allie/Carol: I just got a dental appliance to take the place of CPAP. Its pretty fragile. Hope I don't break it.
Tracey: I am into leggings and softer materials also.
Katla: Hope you have a good visit with your son.
Debbie: Do you think your MIL has any dementia that is causing meanness. You mentioned she wanted to be put in a home. Maybe a personal care home rather than a nursing home would work out for her. She might get more attention as they tend to be smaller.
Beth: I hope your hearing issues are resolved.
Barbara: I eat a lot of shrimp. Maybe I shouldn't cook it when I am alone.
Rebecca: The shrimp, avocado, cucumber, rice roll sounds delicious!
Machka: Sad about the cyclone Gabrielle. I didn't hear too much about it. The media has been focused on the earthquake in Turkey,
Margaret: I hope you are okay from your fall.
Terri: Do you study Latin as a hobby? I try and do Mandarin and have a course I watch on Udemy. I like the calligraphy.
Rita: Thank you for posting about the Cleveland Diet. Great about being able to control your A1C. So 50 grams of carbs and 90 grams of protein. Avocado as the only fruit. No milk and no yogurt. I have substituted a protein drink with blueberries and banana with protein and milk for coca-cola. I am going to see if my insulin resistance will tolerate this. The protein drink is satisfying. I will eat no other fruit or drink no other milk.
Not much happening here. Caregiving. We brought a planter into the house and I ordered some Wildflower seeds. The sun pours into our dining room and maybe we can grow some Wildflowers. I am increasing the hours of the caregivers. I hate to do this, but I am getting worn down.

I will finish the roses Saturday and hopefully repot my dwarf lemon tree. The wine barrel it is in is falling apart and dries out too fast during the summer because of it. Neighbor gave me the drum from inside of their old washer. I can put the drum over the lemon tree without disturbing the roots.
Almost an hour and a half. Could finish but then I would have to move the prunings twice.
Time for a little break then get dinner started

Living in wine country, wine barrels are pretty easy to get and not too expensive and look nice, at least for about 10 yrs then start to fall apart. The only reason I am using the tub/barrel from the washer is because there isn't a bottom so I can just put it right over the tree and not disturb the roots.
I will need to get some more soil to fill it up.
In my garden, everything is planted in the large pots from the nursery that trees come in. I do have two large raised beds my parents built me for my birthday. Would love more of them but will just use what I have for now.
Do you have a picture of yours? Maybe a new option for me. I have used a few of the plastic totes that the lids cracked on so just drilled some holes and filled them with soil

Got a huge surprise- dh came in from work and wanted to know what time I was planning on leaving to walk, before getting Ezie from school- I told him, wondering why. SURPRISE- he said he wants to go with me- that is a FIRST- said he needs something different to clear his head. I am thrilled. Now, if we can have a nice walk without him complaining about his mom, work, the neighbor.... That will be amazing.
Won't do the whole walk and will slow down my pace . Don't think he will be up to the five miles in just over an hour.

You more than deserve that time with your family and more. Maybe there will be a snow storm and you get snowed in with them and have to have a little more time off with your family.
Happy birthday to your brother- that is my birthday too.

She has always been mean- FIL said the worst thing he ever did was marrying her and bringing her to the US.(she is from Okinawa and they met while she was in Tokyo) She was always mean to him and he put up with it. She treats everyone like this and wonders why she has no friends. She only has one brother who will not have anything to do with her and a niece who is in Osaka- She thinks she can move there and Otsiko will take care of her. I don't think that will happen after MIL accused her niece of stealing her jewelry when they came to visit almost 20 yrs ago.
She is more than capable of still doing things for herself but doesn't want to. She wants people to wait on her every minute. To just sit there and listen to her complain. She doesn't want to be alone. She is the one that made it that way.No one wants to be around that all the time. Dh is and it is driving him crazy. He is even more bitter and angry after all this than he was before, and it was bad before this.
There is a good chance if we put her in a care home, after the newness wears off, they will kick her out. They will not cater to her every whim like she thinks. She does not deserve that type of care.
I am usually not this negative but after so many years of putting up with her treating me the way she has and having to put up with dh acting the way he does because of her, I am just so tired of all of it.
A few months ago, there was one "friend" that came over(she showed up right after bil died, she was a coworker of his, pretty much with her hand out-still is). She stayed with Fumiko so dh and I went out to get groceries for her. When we walked back in the house, dh went first then I came in behind him. Without thinking, Fumiko looked at the friend and said "G** D*** IT- SHE'S here too!!!" The friend was shocked because usually MIL doesn't say that in front of others. Doesn't want witnesses to her meanness- she wants every one to thing dh and I are the bad/mean ones and she is perfect/innocent.
For most of our marriage, dh has told me to not say anything back, to bite my tongue because it would make it harder for HIM if I did. I walked away with a bloody tongue a few times from biting it. So, for my sanity, I stay away as much as possible. After her fall, that wasn't an option and he needed my help with her. When she really needed the help and was almost nice and appreciative, it was fine but when she was able to do things for herself and I wouldn't do them for her, she got nasty again. She was able to get up on her own to use the comode chair. She would get up every hour. After the first several hours, I was too exhausted and slept so she got mad. I had worked all day the day before and had to work again in the morning but she didn't care. Dh did get up every time with her and was totally mentally and physically exhausted and got to beyond a breaking point- when he was talking about getting his gun out.
Sorry for the rambling- I would be so happy if we could put her in a home and for her to see that what dh has been doing for her every day, she will not get at the home. She doesn't appreciate anything he does, just demands more.

Rosemarie take care of yourself! When you need more help, it's only responsible to get more help, instead of risking the whole system breaking down.
Well the personal yoga festival sounded like great fun until I remembered my limits. My knee and elbow will give out if I do too much. So I did an hour and quit. Seems good so far Yay!
There's still aerobic walking to do.

Kylia--I hope you just go and enjoy the time with your family. You need to do this for you.
I am so glad it is Friday. I just feel burnt out. Have to do some serious thinking.
Sounds like we will be replacing the refrigerator and the floor under it. DH was looking last night and said it is a mess. We went and looked at a couple now have to make sure they will fit though the doors. We have 28 inch doors. Then bookkeeping placed called and DH employer for some reason changed his federal with holding and now we owe $1700. Because it's done direct deposit DH doesn't look at his paystubs. So I am looking forward to the weekend of just not dealing with anything.

It was nice having dh go on the walk with me. It was the first time he had been out there. Really not his thing. He said he was glad he went to see what it was about but not something he would want to do every day like I do. Is really not into the wildlife/birds at all. Every time I would mention anything he would just be totally uninterested, kind of oh, what ever. Not impressed at all. He did well about not complaining the whole time about work/mom/etc- lots of silent time during that hour. Took a full hour to walk the shorter route that I usually do in 50 min. so walked just a little slower than usual. Instead of continuing to walk until Ezie got out of school like I usually do, we sat in the car and he took a nap.
Was great that he wanted to go. I have been asking him for months to go with me. Wondered why today, after him working all night. Then I put two and two together. He needs my help tomorrow to walk MIL's dog while he gives his mom a hair cut(doesn't want the dog around jumping and barking-Kobe is not trained at all). I will walk him for at least40 min. or more.
First time going there since before my surgery

Well, I had a little more chocolate, but then I tossed the last few pieces.
