I ran 2.25 miles for my streak this morning. It was already warm at 74°F. It was pretty humid and was drizzling a little at then end. So it was a good day for a short run.

@Martindale Sorry about the rough day. I sure hope the AC is fixed soon.

@polskagirl01 Hahaha about walking in your stinky coat helping you feel like you are running. You have a great attitude and you went one driveway further! I can see why the quilt isn't your favorite design, but the fact that your grandmother started it still makes it precious. If you really don't like it, maybe it would make a good wedding gift to whichever kid gets married first. :confounded: I'm sure you are looking forward to a nice relaxing vacation.

Glad you had a nice run @kgirlhart!

I hate it when I do that @Teresa502 . It was a bit nippy this morning. Great running.

@Laurz9191 Love the pictures, esp of the cow. Looks like a great place for a walk/hike.

@yirara Great job with your running. Having fun will help you be consistent.

@Zaxa2021 Sounds like you are doing great to me.

Hugs @martaindale . You did have a day yesterday. I hope the AC was an easy fix.

@spl8 Glad you love your new shoes.

That's a long run in the rain @AlphaHowls ! You just continue to find new ways to amaze me.

Is the traffic in Houston that bad? Ugh! That must make you nuts. It's pretty bad here on Long Island, too, and most places require 15-20 minutes minimum, and when I say something is 30 mins away that's without traffic (which could easily bump it up to 45 mins).

Houston is so sprawling and growing quicker than the infrastructure. The scale of Houston is something that people who don’t live here have a hard time wrapping their minds around. Think more like LA than NYC. Downtown with 3 concentric outer loops. The company I work for has sites that are about 60 miles apart that are all considered to be in “Houston”. Even without unexpected traffic you can drive for 2 hours and still be in the Houston metroplex. I live in the area I work on purpose, which is technically not in Houston proper. It’s not even in the same county as Houston. Several of my colleagues commute an hour+ each direction daily. We have this huge city with lots of interesting stuff to explore but we honestly don’t leave our area very often unless we really need to (like going downtown to see Rent).

@tarun_yadavA Happy Birthday & happy birthday run :)! Hope you have a good one!

@Scott6255 Hope your back is ok today!

I am still acclimating to warmer weather. Despite that, my run this morning was very pleasant and so far I am enjoying not having to layer up :). It felt really good to be out moving, so I rolled with it and ran further than planned for today, getting in 15.2km. I am trying to incorporate some more hills in my runs, because the marathon I am running will have over 500m elevation gain. So, I ran two "extra" hills today.

Also, I am trying to practice/find a mantra to actively use while running. Do any of you use this technique to block negative thoughts from creeping into the run and to stay in the moment? I thought it might be useful to actively give it a try as part of my marathon preparation and was surprised how much it seemed to positively impact my run this morning.
