7. Make a list of what matters most to you and why. Joe and the dogs-love.
Gratitude-heals. Faithful in small-it’s who I am.
Rats. Missed out on a $40 rebate from the electric coop when we bought the new washing machine last year. A tiny drop in the almost $1400 bucket but every $40 helps. Lesson learned? Read those monthly magazines when they arrive ;}
Shared two of my friends’ contact info with Joe’s phone despite his resistance. “If you want to give me numbers, write it on a piece of paper and I’ll put it in my folder so I’ll know where it is.” OK message received. Printing out the “who to call” page today. Will let that settle in awhile before I hit him with the “ins and outs” page or the [shudder] logins list. Baby steps.
Machka to the “keep blood pressure down” list I’d add do everything you can to be regular ;} your colors.
Margaret, thanks for yours to Rita.
Heather your painting of Johnny, bravissima!
Allie ((hugs))
Mary the joy in that little’s pics just jumps out.
Lisa hope the pain goes away soon. Hooray for Corey treating you like the princess you truly are.
Rebecca (((hugs held extra long)))
Rosemarie I am so thankful the ADDA meditation gave you some relief. You’ve been through so much.
Tracey I’m with you about working with DH on projects. Separate IS more pleasant  Prayers for those affected by Alberta’s fire emergency. Would love to send you some of our rain.
Michele, didn’t think of the battery. Well done!
Pip cute dress! All your hard work sure shows well.
Bone broth update. The thawed turkey bone broth from Thanksgiving was delicious! Needed no “better than bouillon” or soup mix, was fully seasoned, probably from simmering the bones with the skin. Now I wish I had made more Next will rotisserie a chicken and make broth from the bones and skin. But OH, whole organic chickens are sooo expensive, $18+ at Freddie’s yesterday. I usually buy the frozen organic, skinless breasts, $14 for two pounds, no waste and cook fast. Whoops, there I go complaining again ;}05/:06 Move: sets 2 PT w/d, dog group, Jeopardy walking. steps: 8193

I was curious about the carriage. It’s giltwood, painted gold and then covered with gold leaf. Queen Elizabeth once said the ride was uncomfortable.

The much older State Coach that they used on the return journey has absolutely no suspension whatever. You can clearly see it bouncing about as the procession moves along the route back to Buckingham Palace. The Jubilee Coach which they went to the abbey in is relatively new, and has air-con and very good suspension.2 -

I didn’t pay quite enough attention to see that there were 2 different coaches.
I believe I read that Queen Elizabeth said her ride (in - I assume - the State Coach) was “horrible”.

Sunday --
Nice sleep-in. One of the things I do sometimes when I sleep in, is to stay in bed for an additional 10-30 minutes just lying there awake and completely still, and I think. I think about what I want to do that day and in coming days. I think about bigger issues, my current list of stressors, and whatever else pops into my mind. I let my mind decide so it wanders. But I find it relaxing and settling. I so rarely get completely still and quiet time to do that.
And then the day got going.
I spent quite a bit of time in the garden and accomplished what I set out to do today! The plan was to move all the carnations up to my drystream garden thus clearing the other garden bed for the bushes I want to get going there. It was a long job, digging a hole, walking down the hill to where the carnations were, digging one up, hauling it up the hill, plopping it in the hole and filling in, and repeat, over and over. Now it's done.
Then I hauled the watering can (big plastic one) around to various spots. Fill it. Haul. Pour. Fill it. Haul. Pour. At least 7 times.
The lower garden bed has been cleared and is ready to be dug up for the bushes.
Then we headed under the house where my husband rode his bicycle on the trainer while I rowed, lifted weights and walked/jogged.
I'm attempting to jog again. We'll see how it goes.
And then ... Lego Masters!

Apparently all the royals since the mid-1800s when the gold one was built have said the ride was horrible. Fortunately, this time, they only had to go 1.5 miles whereas Queen Elizabeth had to go 5 miles during her coronation.
The black one brought the pre-king and pre-queen to Westminster Abbey and then took William, Kate and family to Buckingham Palace after.

Prince Charles became King Charles III the moment his mother died. The coronation is a separate thing. King Edward VIII was king, but never crowned.
We are waiting in for a delivery from Amazon, but as soon as it arrives, we will go out and visit a few of the Open Houses to see the art, pottery, jewellery etc. Weather is brightening up. We are expecting to think our art is much better than some for sale!
This morning I did as much exercise as I could manage, but I am somewhat hampered by my sore ribs on the left. Annoying.
I also did a little reel for Instagram, using the photo DH took yesterday. It was fun playing with it!
I don't do reels often as I am such a beginner at these things, but I like to have a go. It's better to post something than nothing. I have made great progress in not being such a perfectionist!
There is a street party in our road today, but we won't be visiting. Not only are we anti-royalty, judging by the previous times, they are pretty awful. I have been before to see if I could meet a few neighbours, but it was all cliquey and no mingling. We really don't like the people who are organising it.
Hope my delivery comes soonest!
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx2 -

Ah well, that goes to show you that I should not have said aloud the whole princess thing and not liking to get sweaty unless it's my idea. The universe will turn right around and goose me when I say stuff like that.
So...the air conditioner not only didn't work, I'm pretty sure it made the house warmer. It was 80 in the house when we turned it on and 83 inside when we turned it off yesterday afternoon. And... the warmest days of the year so far in front of us, supposed to be 84 today and 89 tomorrow. And also of course, it's the weekend, so getting an a/c tech out here is pretty impossible today, and I'll have to call tomorrow morning. Grrrrfff.
In the scheme of all things, of course, it could be worse. It's 71degrees now, so I've got all the windows open, and it's lovely and cool. My other problem is that whirling around inside my head is a busy week coming up, and scheduling technicians is always a pain in the gitchee-goomees.
Oh my stars and whiskers, I AM acting like a princess. Time to step down off my high horsie (just a rocking horse, you know, but still) and get over myself. Time to shake off all the unwarranted privilege and entitlement like a dog after a bath. Bwwwwvvvvvttttt.
And... stepping just a teensy bit closer to reality, between the lawyer on Monday at 3 pm and the Wednesday tests and doctor appointment, I'm pretty sure I can get the a/c tech shoe-horned in. Goober.

We got one of the movable room A/C units at Home Depot last year when ours went out and it worked great. It won’t cool your whole house, but will easily cool the room you are in and keep you from being sweaty 😉. It made sleeping much easier!

Hey all! Been reading everyone's posts! So much chit chat (as usual). I love it all, but it is so hard to remember who I want to reply to comment on. Here goes:
The Coronation of King Charles- I haven't watched any of it, but will probably flip through some of the video on Youtube. This week, instead of focusing on real life royals; I binged Queen Charlotte (Bridgerton) on Netflix. lol It was lovely.
Kim- Around here, I still see "help wanted" ads for shut-ins or elderly that are tasks for small businesses /realtors. Like addressing envelopes or putting stamps on things, etc. They even pay a small stipend. Would she be able to help teachers with paper grading? Perhaps your local library might have "busy" things for her to do at her chair or table?
Heather- Wonderful art gallery you have going! Such a creative family!
Pip- Beautiful family pic!
Lisa- We have "summer traffic". Once we begin to hear the roar of motorcycle and muscle car engines, we know that warmer days are upon us. Friday night, there was a long stream of loud vehicles streaming out of the campgrounds across the street from my home. My guess is there was a wedding at their pavilion. Lots of tires squealing and young people whooping out the windows. There were a couple of limos. Come to think of it; it very well could have been prom couples who were taking pics before heading to the dance. Anyway, yeah, while I enjoy the warmer spring temps; I miss the quiet of winter.
Tracey- Woo! Busy couple of days for you! I love Shania. How was the concert? Your granddaughter is very talented. You will have to let us know, who stays up later tonight; Michaela or you?
Rita- Hang in there! Keep breathing deep breaths. I agree with the idea of maybe popping into your car (borrowed or not) and put the air on and head to someplace air conditioned. A movie or the mall...and just hang for a couple hours to give you a break from the heat. Barbie's suggestion of a gratitude journal pulled me out of a dark place and has changed my life. It seems like a small and trite thing. But it really helped.
Earlier this week (on May 4th, to be exact) my DYS and I headed down to one of the local pubs to participate in a Star Wars Trivia contest (sponsored by our local library). We walked in and there were seven of my former childcare kids (now in their teens and twenties) sitting together with parents at a large table! They all screamed and jumped up from their seats. Hugs were given all around! The boys were thrilled to see my DYS, who got them started in all things Star Wars. It turns out, one of the boys heard about the contest and called the other boys. They don't hang out together, but this one thing was a common bond they all shared. It was fantastic! My son and I were already registered as a team, and the seven were registered as another team. DYS and I came in second, the boys came in third. It was a great time and fun to see how they have all grown and changed. The oldest one drove all of the way from college in East Lansing to play. Truly made my heart so happy.
Anyway, I have some paperwork to get done and a little cooking and cleaning to do. It has been a rainy weekend, so I am not sure how much yard work I will get done. We will see. Hugs to all who need them! ttfn xoxoxo KJ (Kelly)10 -
Heather:
I was meaning to say to you how much I love the experiential creative diversity you are introducing into the lives of your grandkids. Your art is so Avant-Garde!!
I enjoy all the historical pomp and ceremony, but regard myself as an ardent modern Elizabethan rather than a Monarchist. Only time will tell if I become a Carolean.2 -
Our delivery arrived and we went out for our tour of the most local Open Houses. The first couple were exorbitantly expensive, which made us feel great about our painting efforts! Ridiculous prices for stuff no better than we could do. I picked up a couple of ideas to try.
We did love some wooden turned bowls, but were too mean to buy them.
The last house is one we've been to before, and almost bought a print. I like her stuff and it's reasonably priced, but I think we could try something similar. She is in a wheelchair. At the back, in a porch, an old guy was displaying his pottery. It was really cheap! He said he liked making it, so wanted to sell it. His bowls go nicely with ones we have collected on holidays. So we bought one. I like the way the glaze has pooled, and I can't do that sort of glaze at my pottery. Perfect colours for our living room.
Happy us!
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Morning ladies
Alfie woke me up early ,and I have a load of laundry done ,
Going to be 75 and sunny today.
But sheesh I have a case of the hiccups lol.3 -
Good morning ladies!
Lisa during my last air conditioning outage, I soaked my feet and washed my face in cold water. That helped tremendously.
I'm a little dubious about the whole monarchy too. Especially since I tend to think of Charles as Diana's cheating ex. But it is a grand party, so might as well enjoy it!
Quiet here today. I know I've been saying I would get back to exercise, and I haven't done it yet. Today's the day!
And I need to do something about my laptop which has been up and down for weeks! Either I can fix it or I can't, and I need to give up and buy new. The problem has something to do with a Windows 11 update, so I'm leery of buying a new laptop that gets the same update and has the same issue. Plus I just want to believe I can fix it.
Enjoy your Sunday!

Welcome newbies and returnees! (((hugs))) to those who need them.
Oh good Lord, Kim! She does realize that after 94 years, she's allowed "relax" with crafts and recreation without working first! smh. Yeah, talk about judgemental. I'm sorry. I guess she can just sit and waste away in her judgement if she's going to be like that.
OMGosh, Shania Twain is one of my old faves, Tracey! Is she still wonderful? Saw her like 20 years ago.
BOY-O, were you a busy-bee, Michele! Good for you. Pollen has been horrible up here too. Congrats on getting so much done.
Watched a bit of the Coronation. I do have to admit that I too enjoy all the pomp and circumstance, Terri. I love the "costumes" (sorry, I know that's not the right word) Pageantry, is maybe a better word, but what they're made to wear and all that it means. I guess I'm just not in favor of Charles himself. I think he's a boor. I think he treated Diana horribly and I don't believe that Camilla should have been named "Queen". But that's my opinion and I'm not British, so I really have no right to say anything.
7. Make a list of what matters most to you and why... God, family, country.

I topped up the humming bird feeder and headed back inside. 😉
I’m going to DH’s room to spend time with him. 😊
Bad news came this morning when my calendar fell off my door. The plastic hook on the back of the door where I keep it fell to the floor. I need to get another hook with fresh sticker for the door. 😳
