Annie in Delaware—I am impressed with your exercise routine. Good for you! 👍🏻
I love to walk outside in good weather and inside when weather isn’t good I have access to a stationary bike.
Katla1 -
Debbie - I think your nephew should have given up comfort for his Aunt.
Heather - I can’t wait to see the painting when you’ve finished it. I’m sure your brother will love it. Of course, you’ll do an amazing job.
Barbie - I need to adopt your gratitude attitude daily. I even bought a beautiful book for this year.
Debbie - it is pipe cleaners. I tried tying with invisible thread and it didn’t work well. I ended up using a drop of hot glue on each end and middle. Then I put it in the oven until they started melting together a little bit. I had the oven on 400 and they were in for about 3 minutes. I checked them every 30 seconds or so though. When they came out I made sure they were sticking by gently pushing any gaps together with fork handles. Also, tonight I realized I think my bottom element is gone so it may not take that long.
Lisa - thank you. I learned from the best. My maternal grandmother was hands on. My goal is to be as great as she was. She was my best friend.
Vicki - I’m sure it’s a fireable offence for us too.
I think you rode for a good cause.
Allie - is Miles getting to the terrible twos already? I always found three worse than 2 though.
Rita - I hope the RV is able to be repaired and for not a lot of money.
Heather - I can understand your frustrations. I hope you are able to rest some soon.
Lanette - my direct supervisor has been supposed to train with me for a year for payroll. She has no interest in learning. She can transmit a pay run, but doesn’t know the small details.
The receptionist has been learning AP/AR and she can do it.
This has been one of the problems, I keep getting nagged about training a back up but had no authority over anyone to make them sit with me.
If I tried to say I was concerned I was basically silenced.
I hate leaving my coworkers struggling but I can’t do this anymore.
I have my doctors appointment on Wednesday at 330 to have a note sent in.
I had a nice long talk with my BF tonight.
My poor husband has been more worried than I thought. He told me before I left for work to call my doctor. When he woke up this afternoon he texted to ask if I had. I think he’s a bit upset that I have to wait until Wednesday.
We had a tiny little bit of rain today. Not nearly enough.

Tracey - Thanks so much for following me on Instagram and all the other people on here who do. Really appreciated. Don't forget to like the posts. It really helps the algorithm to reach more people. Have you looked at ralphtyndalldesigns? I say that because I know you've got various machines and printers, and I think his stuff would really suit your way of working.

9. What values are important to you? Find ways to use them today. Be kind to the disliked phlebotomist. :{
Joe’s back from a day in Medford with good news from the eye Dr.-pressure holding steady at 15. He also spent time and $$ at Barnes and Noble, buying me many Mothers’ day gifts. I smiled and thanked, really appreciate the thought but now [ugh] have 4 more books and magazines to purge ;{
Weather was fine, 60 and not too windy so got in some time chopping and moving brush around the powerline meadow. Pooches lazed in the shade and watched.
Tracey that rainbow and Michaela’s comment. Sorry to hear your oven’s on the fritz. Glad Rodger is being so supportive. Life is too short for you to suffer such stress.
Barbie, and Katla, yours about gratitude. Cheerful and more pleasant to be around
Lisa Egg with a snooze button made me snort my water. LOL! We all have those goober pride moments. Forgive yourself, ok?
Debbie is there any hope your Mom can evict that roommate?
Heather good on you for planning how to manage your diminished resources. Delegate as much as you can then find a way to delegate a little more. Invest your energy in healing and rest rest rest. ((gentle hugs considerate of your poor ribs))
Annie yes you can! See I knew you could!
Vickie like hearing about your motorcycle group rides.
Lanette I love my egg cooker, cooks perfectly for devilled eggs, and use the “shake-two-in-a-glass-of-water” hack for easy peeling. Sounds good, might make some tomorrow.
Allie the pic of the boys working on the yard together ((gentle hugs)) for the hip and thigh pain.

Good morning all. I’m all in favour of intentionally focusing on the positive. It’s something I learnt from my Nana as a small child, and has seen me through many trying times.
Heather: I sympathise with your frustration at being indisposed. Recovery can be so slow as we grow older. My energy flags after very little at the moment, but it’s getting better day by day.
I’m planning to drive myself to craft this morning. It only a 6-7 minute journey so I should be alright. I may not stay for the whole 2 hours, but it’s a step in the right direction. I went for a short drive with DH last week and it was fine. If that’s a success I will go to flower arranging on Thursday afternoon.
Time for me to have breakfast and get ready

Barbara AHMOD-yes, the topical is a prescription compound. It is labeled melon/gaba/lidocaine/prilocaine. Basically numbing stuff with gabapentin in it. It was put together by a compounding pharmacy in Alabama. My doctor and the company who made told me it is not always covered by insurance. They found my insurance covers 100%. It is nice getting relief without having your whole system doped up!
Annie-I am jealous of your workout time! I may get an hour or so in a day-about all I can fit in while working. I will confess, my walk will often take precedence over a clean kitchen!
Lisa-sorry you are having a flair. Must feel nice getting legal stuff done.
Allie-I know you are leaning towards psoriatic arthritis-it may also just be your hip giving up. Nighttime pain is very common with the hip going-and with the lifting, etc., you do with Miles-it probably doesn't help. I was to the point with both of mine that sleep was almost impossible (a recliner helped somewhat).
Heather-bruised/cracked ribs are quite the nuisance. There is really nothing much that can be done and not being able to use a hand is frustrating. Just rest a bit and let stuff heal.
Terri-you sound like a model patient in your recovery! I have found if I listen to my body it tells when I am ready for things. Very sensible starting off with a short drive.
Will miss my morning walk first thing today-need to run into work early for a meeting. I may have to fill in for staff member (husband suffered concussion yesterday, may still need to keep eye on him). Will do a few things in office after that and may come home at noon (today is a scheduled work from home day).
Off to meditation and stretches-I am finding the combination helpful.
Take care all,

Good Tuesday!
Woke up at 4 with anxiety going crazy, so catching up with you all! Tried last night but kept falling asleep. oops.
Last week I worked lots! Felt good to be caught up with paperwork for a couple of days. I didn't do any work on the weekend after left work on Saturday. "Should" have been doing that this morning, but oh well. Got hanging baskets and some flowers on Saturday hung and planted. Went to dinner with DH, then hung out with friends at their picnic table. Sunday morning woke up to storms and the power out. Moved plants to catch the rain. Went to a car show with our 2008 Shelby GT. On the way there realized that part of the door panel had come unglued. Ended up sticking a piece of duct tape in it to kind of hold it in place. The good part of that is we have time to fix it before the Shelby show on the 20th. There were over 700 cars at the show on Sunday in spite of the weather. We got a Top 25 in Modern class award! I was over the top excited!!!! Got home and spent time with friends on their back porch. It really was a great weekend.
Yesterday, SIL tells me we really need to get someone in to help at counter/sales. Really??? She cares? Oh, because it is inconvenient for her when we are off. Whatever.....she and DH ran off the really great help we had and ignored when I wanted GD to come work there. This came about because DH and I are leaving early one Saturday in June and taking off another. I figure not my circus, not my monkeys, but I am sure that is part of the anxiety today. She keeps thinking that Steve is so helpful. It would help if she knew the job better. Anyway.....I made a suggestion that we switch up hours. Maybe open earlier one day a week and stay open later another day a week, then close on the the weekends. Customers will adapt! You just have to give them notice. They adapted to us not being open until 6 during the week. Yes, hiring someone else would be awesome, but I don't see that happening. Pay too low, no one wants to work 6 days a week, and either she or I would still need to be there for a while. I think hour change is the best solution. It beats closing the doors for good and gives everyone time to recoup and enjoy life.
DH will be at home this afternoon as the Culligan water softener guy is coming to put in new softener today. This will make my DH very happy! He hates hard water! SIL will bring him home I am sure.
Clothes.....I am a winter. I love deep colors. I prefer dresses, but wear jeans all week to work. Most of my work shirts are deep colors. I love heels and cowboy boots, but preference is barefoot (not acceptable at work ) I own a couple of black leggings but rarely wear them as I don't really have any shirts to cover the lady parts. I am not into tennis shoes, but do like simple white ones (think Keds). I wear dresses when not at work most of summer.
Healing thoughts for both physical and mental healing!
Love to all for your sharing and caring!
I love the diversity of the experiences and yet the sameness as well! It reminds me that we aren't alone.
I need to take care of some stuffs before work.
Love to all!

Barbie,
You made me chuckle when you posted: "I may be more entertaining to drone on and on about all the inequalities and suffering but it only drags me down.”
Entertaining droning - a new concept for me! Still pondering the idea.
I do love the way your mind works.

Kylia,
After decades of being open 8am-10pm, during Covid my old employer switched to 8am-8pm. So much more humane - we would sometimes still be working at midnight on the old schedule, but now people are usually on their way home by 9pm. It was a very good move for the employees, and the clientele adjusted quite well.
Karen in Virginia2 -
DH is going to do the pickup. Gives me time for a nap, face on, prepare girls dinner at my leisure. Bea pasta and pesto, Edie gluten free pannini and very expensive coppa, (her all time favourite food) We are having a blue cheese roll each.
DH is stepping up with folding laundry, carrying stuff downstairs (I need to hold on to the bannisters, so if it doesn't tuck under my arm....) and cutting stuff up.
All good. Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx8 -

Good morning ladies!
Katla and Barbara thank you for the encouragement!
Ginny you are right, I am lucky to have the time to exercise at low intensity, which is what my body needs. For so long, as a working mother, I barely had time to get essentials done. But now in retirement I have plenty of time.
Heather yes how frustrating.
I am going to stop the PT for sciatica and cancel my doctor's appointment. My shooting pain is pretty much gone, which is a great thing. I can add some of their exercises to my routine myself. I don't think they had the right diagnosis to begin with. I suspect my pinched nerve is in my knee, not my back. Anyhow, I'm done with all that.
I'm going to wash my sheets and read my book today. And do the bike and dumbbells later. It is supposed to rain.

Bought a lampshade for the dining room online. It arrived today. Really pleased with it. We've just had a bare bulb up there for a few years and I've been looking all that time.

Annie, I agree. You and I are so fortunate to have the time to do the low intensity exercise. My day is so simple that I can walk for two hours or more, ride my exercise bike for two hours or more, spend time pulling weeds, and still have time left over.
Heather It is so challenging for those of us who are high energy, busy people to slow down and heal. I wish you the best.
Vicki, I applaud your charitable efforts. Helping others is up there with gratitude as a way to feel better.
Kylia, You sure have a busy life. I thought mine was busy before I retired, but yours is over the top.

Morning ladies
Believe me I would love to have more energy..
More stamina..
When I went to PT they said I had bursitis in my hips.
Well the more I read about PA ,the more it sounds like my symptoms..Im guessing my GP will send me to a Rheumatologist..we shall see..2 -
I am looking forward to a trip to the library, lunch with friends, and a trip to Walmart. It will be a busy day.
After a windy & dusty day yesterday, we have the pleasure of a bright, sunshiny day today. Yay!
Katla in Illinois3 -
Good morning ladies. Waiting for it to warm up a bit and then we will be taking a 20 mile bike ride. After that we have tickets for the new movie Guardians of the Universe volume three. We were also invited out to dinner tonight with our pastor and his wife. we have a lot of things going on today! It’s going to be at a high calorie day. I do calorie cycling. So yesterday I had 350 cal left over. Today I will probably eat those plus more. So then tomorrow I will eat less than my 1200 cal. I will average 1200 cal per day per week. I never include my exercise calories, add them to the daily amount, especially when I have a couple pounds to lose.
Have a great day, everyone!

My mom told me that I could sleep on the couch and my nephew would sleep in the other recliner(mom sleeps in her recliner most of the time). The problem was they both snore really loud.
Earlier in the day, both of them were napping in the recliners and it was so loud, we couldn't hear the tv(and mom keeps it up pretty loud most of the time-laying in bed in the back of the house I could hear every word of the SVU show she was up watching)
I had only had less than 4hrs sleep the night before and I just needed a quiet place to get some sleep-I have to be up early to drive home the next morning.
It was very hard and got cold quite a few times but at least it was very quiet and dark in there.
Thanks for the instructions. I think Ezie will have fun making one

we are still hoping she tells her to leave. She wants her gone but doesn't want to have to tell her to leave. She is not going to leave on her own. She has it too good-free rent for over a year, using utilities constantly(tv/computer/lights are on all the time, well into the night).
Mom knows how my sister and I feel about her too.
It has to be her decision to tell her. The more we push her, the more she backs off the room mate.

Barbara--What is the shake two in a glass of water to peel trick? I always have so much trouble peeling the eggs to make devilled eggs.
Machka--I found "What your toes can tell about your potential and your self-image" very interesting and a lot to think about. Thank you for sharing.
Been an interesting day. When I got to work this morning my other day shift person gave notice. Her last day is next Wednesday. That leaves me Monday-Friday 6a-6p until further notice. My boss said this morning that he is going to administration about hiring someone. That's great but it takes time and atleast a good month to train. I actually feel pretty calm so far.
Going to the city council meeting tonight as DGS that works on the police force is getting an award for saving a person that was shot. Proud of him and want to show support. But only staying until that part is over then going home. Have 2 cakes I baked last evening to frost and drop off at church for a funeral tomorrow.

Barbara - have you read any of Robyn Carr's books? I've just started on her "Thunder Point" series and it's set on the Oregon Coast near your neck of the woods. I'm well into the Virgin River series but waiting for a couple from the library so I can read them in order.
I'm getting to be a big fan of hers. Bodice rippers have a come a long way!
I'm looking forward to the HOT weekend coming up, in the 90's, so I have an excuse to stay in the house and read, lol.
