@Laurz9191 I'm glad your backpacking adventure went well. My husband is also not into that sort of thing. My kid likes to camp though, so we go together. Also tent camping for now.2

3/120 miles
10/2: 3 miles
Short easy run before work. I'm counting the days to cooler temps. We have a little drop headed our way in a few days.4 -

Same race weekend but I did the Dopey challenge.
That’s awesome that you did that Sarah @martaindale
We ran our races in 2013. The Dopey challenge was started in 2014. If it had been around in 2013 I’m sure my husband and I would have been Dopey enough to do that one! 😀5 -
I did have to carry the almost 4 year about half of the time, and he never stayed on my shoulders too long, so there was a lot of weight lifting there
. We all slept great our first time sleeping in a tent (although our friend put actual mattresses in the tent, so maybe it was more glamping than camping ;
Deadlifting a four year old through 18km, you earned all the glamping you can get.8 -
Oct 1 – 8.16 miles
Oct 2 – 5.42 miles
13.58 miles/ Goal 100 miles
Got in 5 miles before work today. My husband has COVID and I have important work meetings this week and it would inconvenience a lot of people if I were to catch it. I’ve been staying at an Airbnb in the “city” the last few days. I’ve been missing home and my fur babies but on the positive side, I didn’t have to get up as early to run this morning. (P.S. - husband is feeling fine.)
Welcome @daria0919!
Glad the camping/glamping went well @Laurz9191.

Total 5.51/50 miles
Only 2 miles today. 1 with Dakota cos he was whining at me when I was getting ready to go to C25K with my daughter. The running part only amounted to 1 mile and my daughter seemed to enjoy it. We ran at her pace and she managed it really well.
@daria0919 Welcome to the group!9 -
10/1: 2.00 mile walk - driveway laps
10/2: 1.00 mile walk - 2.85 miles ran - driveway Fast Finish Run
5.85/90 mile goal
I took kid's blood pressures again today. We didn't quite get done with the vision and hearing screenings, but did finish the BPs. There was very little down time from 8:30 - 3:00. It's not hard, but sitting bent over in a chair that long is not good for my back. I had actually hoped we would get done by noonish today, but there were only three of us trying to do about 200 6th and 8th graders. It was about 3:15 when I got home. I had only had a protein bar since lunch and was hungry, so had a spoon of peanut butter and then went out for a driveway run.
Today was a fast finish run: 5 min Zone 1, 25 min Zone 2, and 10 min Zone 3. Probably because I didn't drink water during the day, my HR was high, so had a hard time staying in zone 2. Max HR for that zone was 152, not the 143 it should have been.Otherwise, I did okay. Avg pace was slow - 14:09 min/mile. Avg HR was 145 with a max of 160 bpm. My zone paces were 14:45, 14:48, 12:35 min/mile. At least the fast 10 min was faster than the rest.

@Laurz9191 I'm glad you had a great camping weekend with your kids. Sounds like fun. I'm sure the mattresses helped.
Great run @Scott6255 .
@Teresa502 Probably a good idea to stay at the Airbnb. I'm glad your husband is feeling okay. I'm sure you miss being home though. Great running.

@Scott6255 + @AlphaHowls -you guys killed it yesterday. And then some!!!! 💪8 -
@AlphaHowls just rolls out of bed and decides to run 30 miles...she is simply superhuman!!! 😳
Got out this morning determined to take it easy. Well, it was slow, but didn't feel easy until mile 8. So a 'sleasy' 8 mile run this morning.9 -

Im pretty intimidated by the whole - I can just go out and run 30 miles when I have the time thing...😳😂🧐💖
<kidding> <maybe not>
This morning I wasn't planning a 10k but it was pretty nice out at 69 deg even with humidity still up. The sky was really interesting. I thought it was clear but even in the dark I could see conrail traces from plane flights. And the moon was very bright like a clear sky also with a planet nearby. Anyway, I was fascinated watching it change as I ran. Enjoyable for sure.
100 mile goal.

10/3: walk/run 1.65 miles
Total for October so far:
4.15/62 miles, a bit under my 2 mile per day average, but my body doesn’t do well in heat and humidity. Cooler weather coming starting Thursday

October Goal: 130 miles
10/1: 11.11 miles
10/3: 6.25 miles
It was 75°F this morning. It wasn't as hot as it has been, but it wasn't quite cool yet either. We are supposed to have some cooler temps later this week. We shall see.
I ran 6.25 miles this morning. It was really pretty out. The moon and the stars were so bright.
We had a break in a water line this afternoon and the entire town was without water from about 3:00 - 8:30. The repairs have been made and the water is back on, but the pressure is low and we will have to boil for at least 24 hours while they test it. I am really glad they got it fixed and hope the water pressure will be good by morning.
17.36/130 miles completed for October8 -
Morning everyone 😊
Got in 5 today (09"21).

Good morning everyone!
I ran 14.6km this morning. I ran on a route that I haven’t run in quite a long time, which was nice. Also I got to run through a tunnel of little puppies by the dog school which was really cute. I was definitely being used for training purposes, but that was fine by me.
I can feel my body getting faster as the weather cools down which is a nice feeling.
@AlphaHowls Great job on your 30 mile run! I’m very impressed. That’s quite an accomplishment, and with that fuelling. My body would definitely have wanted more. I suppose you are definitely used to it and everything, but it’s quite amazing.
So far for October 20.7/160km.8 -

5.8/120 miles
10/2: 3 miles
10/4: 2.8 miles
Slow start to the month. I skipped a run yesterday. I had an early morning Drs appointment I had to be fasted for and a meeting at lunch and a dental appt at 3pm. I could have run between any of those appointments but I just couldn't work up the motivation to get it done.
Today I had every intention. I decided to do the interval workout I was supposed to do yesterday. 12 x 400m @ 8:30 pace. I did a mile w/u and managed 3 at that pace, the fourth I slowed down a bit and that was a struggle. My legs were done. I took it down to an easy pace a ran a bit more until my husband called to see if I could go pick up the kid. So, I bailed. Total bomb of a workout. Idk if it's because I haven't been doing speed work or if the pace is just too fast for me. I'll try another workout before making a final decision but I may need to adjust some.8 -
Waiting for the rain and cool weather, so did 7 TM miles after work.6

Hang in there! Sometimes one just needs to slow down or take a short break. I’m sure you’ll be back on track soon. 😀3 -
I did a whole 1 mile on the treadmill at the Y today. Had a personal trading session today to work on strength training.
October total so far: 5.15 miles
A bit cooler tomorrow. Hope to do 3 miles after work.9 -
Good morning everyone!
Got in a 10K (09"35). Upping distance a touch... (still!) not bothering at all with looking at pace9 -
Good Morning. We are having THUNDER BOOMERS and RAIN this morning so maybe won't run until later or take a rest day.
Yesterday was pretty strange. I had decided I really wanted to run 4 miles and the Pumas were totally ready. But when I started my hips and legs just said absolutely friggin no way. So I turned off my strava and watch turned to walk. But the funny thing was I did end up running 4 plus miles. But it took quite a while for me to actually run. Glad I stuck with it but the beginning was a WOG for sure. Then I decided to see if I could do a mile or maybe up to 15 minutes at lunch so put my shoes on and got out there. I accidently set my watch for 16 hrs instead of minutes and kept wondering why I had not hit the halfway point. Perhaps I was channeling Alphahowls or Eleanor.... hahahaha.🧐😳🙃🤷♀️🤣🤣🤣 ANyway hopefully the hot mornings are done after today...

Way to stick with it @SummerSkier!
Well we got the expected rain, but still waiting for the cool front. Phone said it was 72F and 100% humidity. Felt like a sauna, so was going to go easy. Did 8 miles, and it did feel a lot easier than Tuesday, and pace was almost 40 sec/mi faster. Ran in my old retired Endorphin 2's because I knew it would be wet and muddy. The shoes actually felt really good for having 500 miles on them. I think I will go get another pair 😁5
