    Into relaxation mode: watching TV while converting cassettes to digital, colouring, and reading. :)


    Tried laundry sheets this month.
    Underwhelmed.
    They didn't cause my ongoing allergic reaction but I don't think they helped. And my clothes just didn't seem as clean as with my usual laundry liquid for sensitive skin.

    :) The dog trainer came yesterday for her first visit. She spent time talking to us about what goals we had for Annie. Then we spent an hour learning and practicing techniques using the clicker, hand signals, and one word commands. Annie is a fast learner and Jake and I were almost as fast. She gave us clickers to use and e mailed us a training plan so we have it in writing. She'll be back again next week for another hour of training and practice. It's more expensive that the group training that's available at Petco but fits our needs of staying home and getting personalized help.

    :) Miraculously Jake and both dogs slept almost all night so there was no middle of the night walk, just a slightly earlier morning one which got us up an hour before our usual wake up. I don't expect it to be a regular occurrence since Bessie has needed a middle of the night walk for her whole six years with us but it was an interesting change. I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep so I was able to read the e book on my phone for awhile.

    :)Tracey, The novel I am reading now is set in Arizona and features a fictionalized account of many things that took place with indigenous people in the US which is similar to things that happened in Canada. Interesting and heart breaking.

    :)Heather, glad you could say no to another invitation. It's time for you to stay home for awhile.

This is such an easy way to save money over buying books or subscribing to an online e book or audio book service.     Phew I finally got through reading..I had to uninstall and reinstall MFP to get it to work..
    I also deleted quite a few apps.
    Went with my friends to a new restaurant last night here in town to listen to her brother and a friend play..in the bar area.. we had reservations but were over in the far corner and not easily seen.took 45 min to get drinks I just had a diet soda.and then we waited and waited and waited I went to the bar and asked for a pitcher of water and I brought it over to the table and poured everyone extra water and then we waited some more. I finally got up and went to one of the waitresses and said we have a large party and we have been waiting over an hour to get our order taken...
    So the owner who got us the drinks.. comes over in a huff with a pad to take our orders
    And then its close to another 45 minutes before we get the food..
    They have a very nice dining room..
    But the guys were playing in the bar.. and the bar was packed 2-3 deep and the deck outside was full also..
    The food was very good once we got it.
    But I will say when hometown people play and its a smaller venue they can't handle all the people..
    I left around 9 and came home.
    Alfie and I are just hanging out today.. the high is going to 83..and tomorrow in the 50s 😵‍💫

    2. Find something to be optimistic about (even if it’s a difficult time). I am optimistic about cooler weather.
    3. Take a small step to a goal that really matters to you. I need to call my uncle.
    4. Start the day with the most important thing on your to-do-list. Updating this list and My Fitness Pal.
    5. Be a realistic optimist. See life as it is but focus on what’s good. I usually hope for the best but prepare for the worst. I think this counts!
    6. Remind yourself that things can change for the better. No matter how bad you think it is, it can always get worse. So enjoy life no matter where you are, or what you are doing, or your circumstances.
    7. Look for the good in people around you today. I can do this if I try. This was not difficult to do with visitors. Employees were a different matter!
    8. Make some progress on a project or task you’ve been avoiding. I need to clean the cabinets out. I am planning to start today. Didn’t happen.
    9. Share an important goal with someone you trust. did not do this.
    10. Take time to reflect on what you have accomplished recently. I have accomplished coloring pages, making doctor appointments, calming my nerves by taking some actions I never tried before, and more.
    11. Avoid blaming yourself or others. Find a helpful way forward. This is hard for me.
    12. Look out for positive news and reasons to be cheerful today. With everything going on around me and in me this will be hard, but I will pay attention to good news.
    13. Ask for help to overcome an obstacle you are facing. The obstacles I have cannot be solved by me, but by family members.
    14. Do something constructive to improve a difficult situation. I will have to think on this. I posted pictures of the eclipse that happened here on the Friends Group FB page, and sent some pics to my son and grandson.
    15. Thank yourself for achieving the things you often take for granted. I got up in a thankful mood today so I should be able to do this. The eclipse yesterday couldn’t have gone better.
    16. Put down your to-list and do something fun or uplifting. I will color, walk, and meditate-all things that are fun and uplifting to me.
    17. Take a small step toward a positive change you want to see in society. Teaching adults computer use provides a positive change in my community.
    18. Set hopeful, but realistic goals for the days ahead. My biggest hope for the near future is a holiday without depression and ‘drama’ caused by my family.
    19. Identify one of your positive qualities that will be helpful in the future. I think my tenacity will always be helpful to me and others.
    20. Find joy in tackling a task you’ve put off for some time. This will have to wait as I am not feeling too good today. Fall cold.
    21. Let go of the expectations of others and focus on what matters to you. I have been working on this, so this will be in progress for a while. Because I did this, my mother finally called me to see what was up after 3 weeks of missed calls from me.
    22. Share a hopeful quote, picture, or video with a friend or colleague. Will do here.
    23. Recognize that you have a choice of what to prioritize. I will put myself first for care so I can take care of others and my normal tasks.
    24. Write down three specific things that have gone well recently. Some of my close family contacted me instead of the other way around, 2. Getting appointments with a cardiologist, and a nephrologist. 3. I am over 2 months sober!
    25. You can’t do everything! What are three priorities right now? 1. Better financial management, 2. My eyes and cataract surgery, 3. Researching and getting my name on lists of potential places to retire to in 3-4 years.
    26. Find a new prospective on a problem you face. I need to take a hard look at our budget.
    27. Be kind to yourself today. Remember progress takes time. I hope to go for a walk and to color today.
    28. Ask yourself ‘will this still matter a year from now?’ This helps me to make better decisions when I do this.
    29. Plan a fun or exciting activity to look forward to.
    30. Identify three things that give you hope for the future.
    31. Set a goal that brings a sense of purpose for the coming month.

    Annie & Kim ~ You both seem to be making headway getting your mom's bills sorted out. When my brother-in-law went into assisted living due to his memory/health problems, my Dh became his authorized bill payer and I pay all of his bills online. The best thing was that he had kept a very good spreadsheet that showed all the people who needed to be paid with information on logging in to accounts. We tried our best to help him get back online again but he just couldn't handle doing it.

    Barbie ~ Getting help training Annie was a good idea. So glad that both pups slept most of the night.

    Allie ~ Sorry your night out was disappointing. I am to the point where I hate visiting with large groups in restaurants because it is usually confusing and a long wait.

    Lisa & Heather ~ I was thinking this morning about the artistic talents that both of you display...painting, writing, sculpting, dancing etc. You both are blessed.

    Lanette ~ Hope your chicks do well in the cold weather. Sorry to hear about A's hurt leg and hope she will lay an egg soon.
