A slow start is better than no start. Iβll take it. I went down to 157 almost immediately for about 2 days, then shot back up above 158 until today. Iβve been doing Zumba at least 3x a week and logging my calories (except Thanksgiving and the day after).8 -

November 22: 55.8 - November goal would be maintaining, but again, I seem unable to do it :-( Better losing than gaining, so amen, but now I'm really close to the edge of healthy (and sustainable) loss, so I will add in another weekly meal with big calories (I've already added one to the other three I was doing since from the beginning, but clearly it's not enough... trying with five and hoping it will not make me gain but only maintain - sincerely, I'm scared).
November 29: 55.0 β lost again. SGRUNT βΉ
How long have you been at this, and what have been your overall goals all along? Five pounds in a month is indeed pretty steep for a 120 pound individual. Have you by chance eliminated carbs? When you digest carbs, your body converts some to glycogen, and that also brings along three times as much water into your body. If you stop eating carbs, the glycogen gets used up, and you release the water. It could be something as simple as that.
If it continues and you're not expecting it, consider talking to your physician to make sure there's not something wrong!7 -

Sorry, I didn't specified: it's kilos!
From an healthy point of view, it'severything okay, nothing to worry about (the "ideal" is around 2 kilos/mont, so 2.3 is okay, as loss), forgive me if I made you worry!!!
My problem is only that I already tried two times in past to lose some kilos, and...
Sorry, I past here what I wrote in another thread (English is not my first language, as you surely noted, so I'll go for the quick way ;-)
"What helped and helps me is having introduced no revolutions in my life.
No forbidden foods, no hard exercise, nothing major/disrupting.
Premise: I had very little to lose, I wasn't even in the overweight range, but I've always been skinny and I have to stay there for heart condition. In 2012, I abruptly went from my usual 47 kilos to 71 in three months due to betablockers, so I had to lose a part of those kilos (52/54 is my and my doctor's goal).
Now: I did it in two rounds, but the first 7.5 kilos I lost for good, while the other I lost and regained, and that's the reason I'm at it again (I basically did it, really, I'm already at 55 kilos).
And what made the difference is that those first 7.5 kilos I've lost very slowly and in an easy way, only adding more healthy foods (vegs ---> which naturally resulted in eating smaller portions of sweet foods, 'cause I'm full!), and adding 10k steps/day (I really love walking, so not a problem; on the contrary, I'm sad when I can't do that).
It took me a whole year, but these little changes were so... little, and very pleasant to me, that they became an habit, and I "stick" to them since from 11 years ago without problems. The point is this: I don't feel I have to "stick" to this: simply, it's my life, not a diet or exercise regimen.
To lose also the other kilos, instead, I reduced a lot of things I love (pizza, pasta, fries) and added exercises that I don't love, so it was a continuous effort. So yes, I lost those other kilos in very few months, but I also regained them, 'cause that was not a good life for me. And that time yes, I felt I had to "stick" to something I hatred.
So, this time I did as the first one (simply, I added a little more vegetables and a little more steps). I eat a lot, I eat *everything* I like, I don't oblige myself in hatred exercises... and I lost (8,3 kilos in almost 9 months) without effort.
PS: another key I found this time is a different order in introducing food. I went from a sort of "dissociated" way of eating to the "plate", eating the same foods, no changes in it, only the order/mix in which I eat. I did it for healthy reasons, but I discovered it satiates me way more. Since that moment, my struggle is to eat all my calories (!) instead that having to restrain myself!"
I hope it clarifies why I'm worried: no health problems, only fear to re-gain kilos if I lose them too quickly.

Yes; I realized that. I converted to pounds for folks who don't know that one Kg is 2.2 pounds. Sadly, even though I am a recovering scientist, I still think in pounds with respect to healthy weight loss rates.
Sounds like you have a good approach, and it sounds like you'll keep monitoring and making small changes to maintain and improve your health!
You wrote that were sincerely scared about the continued weight loss. My suggestion was to just pay attention and it continues when you're not trying, maybe see a physician. In the meantime, keep sticking to it!5 -

Thank you, really. And yes, I'll continue monitoring it (and perhaps I'll re-add another weekly pastasciutta's based dinner :-)
Editing: sorry, I remembered only now: I cook for 5 persons (me, husband, son, and my parents who live next to us), and this improvement in food is having the right effects on everyone (that is, son is "fatting" because obviously his portions are bigger - he's very very thin, as all we in family -; my parents are the same as before, because I give them the same portions as before; me and husband are both losing, because I learned to give us more vegetables and fewer pasta or lasagna etc - we are no more in the "age of growth" :-D. So, the more I think about it and the more I'm sure it's just matter of portions... and of having no more a pack of candies every day!4 -
Thank you, @enlightenme3 !

I've been up and down all month for a few reasons - haven't exercised as much due to plantar fasciitis, stopped tracking calories when we had out of town guests and going out to eat for almost a week, and my head not being in the game. You know you feel bad when your yoga pants feel tight! I've been back on track this past week, and it seems to be helping (yoga pants still feel tight though). We're flying to the east coast next week and will be seeing a lot of friends and relatives, which I'm sure will involve a lot of meals/drinks and not as much time to workout. Important part will be keeping my head in the game even though I may not track. Will try not to use it as an excuse for a free-for-all.6 -

Lost 3-4.5 pounds this month. 1 more inch off my waist.
My goal was pretty modest this month. And I lost more weight than I expected, meaning that what I thought to be a 250 kcal deficit is actually more and explaining why I couldnβt stick to what I thought was a 500 kcal deficit before. Iβm not sure if I underestimate my exercise calories or my calorie requirementsβ¦but it doesnβt matter. Will be sticking to a net calorie goal of 1750 moving forward.
Will be joining the December Challenge!
