Margaret glad things went well. Thinking of you!

Pip and Lisa: All the projects you and your hubbies are doing are so much fun to read!
Annie: Sorry about your Dad getting confused and lost. That happened to my BIL when his assisted living bus dropped him off for a dr appt. and he did not where to go. After that, my DH has had to take him to all the appointments.
Heather: Congrats on your book. I will look for it on Amazon.
Margaret: Thanks for telling us about the funeral service and reception. It sounds like you did a wonderful job.
Allie: What a great photo of you and your friend in your 20's.
DH stopped by the nursing/physical rehab center to check on BIL and found out that he has Covid 19. I hope that they are able to take good care of him.

Nothing like clicking off my detachable bin on the vacuum and instead of letting me wait to get to the trash can, it decides to dump immediately on the floor in a pile. The b@$tard!🙄😂😂
My unusual way of cleaning my living room involves moving the side tables, coffee table, removing all the cushions, and pillows and up turning the couch and loveseat, the two freestanding lamps and moving it all into the library. Then vacuuming the full room. Then dusting and wiping down things before putting back. Its weird, but for some reason I need to know the carpets under the couches are clean, and there's not a smooshed chip in the cushions, or some such thing.
Now just assembling the boys bathroom with things they might need. I might drag out the tree when both are here for a "night of Christmas". I have a present for each of them. Also fill their stockings. Having a " birthday night" with a cake. I expect us to do a fair amount of feasting, but hopefully we can get them (and me) into the gym. Youngest needs to exercise to get ready for ship life. I have bought Men's vitamin gummies and will insist they take one every day. I know they don't bother, so maybe they can get into the habit of them. It won't hurt. I know they are both adults at 25 and 34, but amazingly it was husband that suggested we buy vitamins for them.💖👍🏼
You know the day I spent with my friend (friday)? Well dear husband decided to buy a new printer (our last one was bought 25 years ago!), then two shelving units for all his games, more figurines. Its interesting to see him so psyched about his "man cave". Of course he said, " you don't know all the stuff I bought". So then of course I dashed to the garage to make sure he hadn't bought another car or some such nonsense! He was laughing but hey thats how we got our Chevy Spark! He went out for stamps back in 2012. The dealership called as he was gone asking for some more info. "What are you talking about" I yammered. Turns out he traded in his scooter and was driving our RV (what we used as a car)home to drive the scooter back to them! I yelled at the sales guy saying, "you better be making him a hot cup of tea, because its like 38' out and he will be on his scooter"!!! He returned nonchalantly and said he had to go out again. I played along, and he drove back in the cutest car ever. But still, he went out for stamps!!😂

Kelly - thanks for the update on your DD's move. It will be fun when she comes to visit, maybe you two can tour some neighborhoods and she can get a feel for some good places they'd like.
I remember when physical tasks started to get hard for my DH, I'd volunteer to jump in and do them - like push the garbage can to the curb, shovel snow, etc. It wasn't until the last year of his life that he'd let me. He still needed to be able to feel useful until then, even though it was a struggle and painful and he'd complain a little. He relied heavily on the weed-like substance that shall not be named here for relief. It probably didn't help his dementia but at that point, I didn't think it mattered anymore.
Joy - So glad to hear your TV situation got settled. We dumped Direct TV when high speed internet came onboard, and it's been fine. Saved us a lot of money. And good that your weather is nice enough that you can walk be outside with the dogs again. Bet Miss Lucy really appreciates it. I wonder if the severe cold is over for the winter or if we're in for another dose?
Margaret - glad the funeral is over and everything went well, and that you had help.
Rebecca - it's fun hearing about your preparations for the boys. Love the car story.
Carol - sorry to hear BIL is ill. He's had a lot of challenges the past month or so. Wishing him well.
Squat question - I went to move the 20# container of cat litter from the garage to the shop this morning. Wondered what it would be like to grab the thing and slowly lift it up and set it down by only bending and straightening at my knees, back straight. Is that a type of squat? Whatever it was, I need to do it more often. I did ten reps and I could really feel it.
5K - this morning I messaged my buddy T and asked her if she'd like to do a walk/run 5K with me on March 16th with the "Run Amok" group. We used to have a small walking group that would meet once a week 7 or 8 years ago. She said YES! and we'll try to get as many of the old group together as possible. I hope the weather is nice (no snow, ice or pouring rain) so we can show up. And encourage each other. We are probably all at different levels.
Caught up for now.

Got home a bit ago from mom's.
Was nice spending time with her. Glad I was there this weekend.
No serious talk but that can wait. Her little dog that she has had for about 15 yrs passed away sometime early this morning. We new it was soon but still hard.
I went out and dug the whole next to the little cemetary they have out front(dad, uncle, cousin and aunt are all buried there). She is buried close to my dad now. Where mom wants to be buried.
Going to try and catch up on what has happened on here while I was gone. 5 pages behind.
Weather is amazing today- was 77 while driving through St.Helena. 73 when I got home. Wearing a tank top today. Know it won't last- rain coming back this weekend

I’m not sure what is going n with MFP, but I wrote and posted 2 lots of comments this morning and they are now missing. I know they posted, as I edited one of them.
Anyway, too tired now to rewrite.

Debbie, so sad to read that your mom's little dog passed away. I'm sure it is hard for all involved.
Margaret, so glad the day went well. Thoughts are with you.
Lanette, hoping the severe weather is behind us but you never know. Miss Lucy is very pleased to spend more time exploring outside.

Evening ladies
Im tucked in clean sheets and Alfie is under the covers..happy camper..
Took a shower and am relaxing and watching Hometown and will watch All Creatures after that.and then to sleep..
Please keep Tracy in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow is a very important day for her.4 -
Pip-those walls look good (even without paint!)
Kylia-strange about the heart issues. Lady at work had some mysterious heart rate things-they have yet to figure them out. Hasn't really seemed to impact her much.
Barbie-after all the chatter about "Atomic Habits" I have it downloaded to my kindle-haven't started it yet.
Tracey-I think it is wonderful you have so much of your family history.
Annie-I'm glad you had a nice lunch with Craig. And I still love singing 'Puff the Magic Dragon."
Margaret-glad the funeral went well. It was such a relief to have that over for me.
Joy-I only use streaming services.
Lanette-yes, that is a squat. Using a kettlebell or dumbbell might be a bit more manageable than the kitty litter!
Carol-I hope BIL has a mild case of Covid.
Rebecca-I must ask-did your husband get the stamps when he got the car?
Allie-hope all goes well for Tracy.
Did a variety of things today, While vacuuming I decided I want a better stick vacuum. I purchased a cheap one a year or two ago to see if I liked them. The one I got really isn't up to the cat hair and would like better battery. After checking out some things I went ahead and got a Dyson. It will make cat hair pick up and baseboard cleaning easier.
After continuing tiredness I did home UTI test and yes, it's back. Started antibiotic this afternoon. I think I am catching this one early (based on overall symptoms). Foot feeling better today. Don't know if it was Friday electrical stimulation treatment, weather or what but I will take it. Got my two mile walk in today. I did order one of the plantar fascia splints-figure it won't hurt to see if keeping it stretched at night helps. It should be here tomorrow. I don't think there are any other conditions I can get in that one foot! I did not do anything for work since Friday evening, but my house looks much better!
Off to get ready to climb in to bed (clean sheets!) and watch a bit of the second half of football game.
Take care all,

Did the Kettleworx Core DVD, took my walk around the neighborhood, then went to WalMart. Jess left to go back. Helping Vince put away some totes for Christmas ornaments
Lanette – I put that weighted vest on my Christmas list. I can survive until then, but I think it would be beneficial
M – congrats on being on the radio. What a thrill. I think at one time or another I’ve said every one of those sayings.
Ordered Corelleware dishes for Jess for her birthday and some for Colby. I know that he won’t mind getting something like that for his birthday. I do want her to have a set of matching dishes. Right now she’s using a mish-mosh of plates that I got at the Salvation Army. But it was good enough for St. Kitts and Iowa, but now I think she needs something more. I’m also going to make her a serving dish with a decal of a wolf on it. She likes wolves. I may also make a smaller one for Colby.
Lisa – great that Corey gave up the hard stuff. That says a lot about him
KJ – March is only 2 months away. Sorry they aren’t moving sooner, but at least they will
Heather – big congrats on your book
Carol – oh no, BIL has Covid. One more thing, huh?
Rebecca – that’s how I found out Vince had bought a Tiburon (which he’s since traded in for the Genesis). I got a call from the insurance co about it. HUH????? They must have thought I was out of it.
Debbie – I’m so glad you were there with your mom when the dog passed. I'm so sorry to hear this.

Margaret, I've been thinking of you all week, but like Annie, it was wise of you not to put the times and days up online, and didn't want to ask. I'm glad the funeral is done, and it sounds as if you are, too. Thinking of you, sending many hugs and much support your way.
For those following the adventures in renovation...Below, you'll see, in order, the only picture I could find from when we originally bought the house that showed the pantry shelving WITH the doors still on at the bottom. It's far at the back, on the left. That's what I removed yesterday, those doors. The second picture is after I moved the bookshelf out of the laundry room (the black shelves) between the fridge and that same pantry shelf unit. That's how it was when I went to bed last night.
Then the next picture is after the shelves were painted white, then with it loaded and then the last view is standing in the laundry room door looking toward the kitchen and breakfast room.
As far as the rest went, Corey decided to get all those big windows plus the floor and ceiling trim done in the sunroom, instead of working on the shelves, which he did a great job at. He'll do the shelves next weekend. Hard to see the trim, but we also turned the two couches into two chaise lounges, lovely pillowy nests for each of us to sit and watch the birds and the deer.
Been a busy little weekend.
Talk to you tomorrow...
Love y'all,

Allie- what a great photo!
Heather - I agree about fewer photos when we were younger. I think there were a few reasons besides us being busy. Film was expensive, we didn’t have cameras at our fingertips all the time and we ended up behind the camera a lot.
I am not 100% sure. When I think of plastering I think of the whole wall being plastered. Mudding is filling the cracks and screw heads on the drywall/gyproc.
We had plaster and lathe walls growing up and it was much thicker than the mud compound.
Annie - Happy to read you go out for a bit, it’s so important.
Your Dad is of the generation that he may think you “need a man to take care of you”. He may be worried that he won’t be there to do it.
We all know we don’t need it and sometimes would probably be easier not to, but it’s sweet he’s asking.
Lanette - I have been talking since 2020 of using Mom’s and Grammie’s diaries to write a book for my girls about the memories of my youth that their writing conjures. I’ve finally decided the years I’m going to do and I have a plan formulated in my head. I just need to get at it.
There were a lot of weather related days, what they had for supper, where/what Dad/Grampie were doing type of days.
😂 I literally laughed out loud at the idea of the hens listening to recess being over.
Lisa - what a productive day yesterday. I don’t know how those cans end up expiring. I’m not even sure that they actually do. Isn’t that a lot of what gets stored for years in a safety bunker for people that think that way? Do they clean it out and throw things away every couple of years?
We have spray foam insulation in strategic places for stopping mice too. We had a few when we moved here and I am not willing to put up with it.
Your blue cabinet gave me an idea of how I want to paint the house. I’m going to have to wait until next week but I have the plan in place now.
I love your change to the pantry.
I am so fortunate that Rodger does not drink on a regular basis at all. We buy a pint when we go camping but that’s about once a year. I was with a guy that drank before him and that’s one reason he doesn’t, the other is that he grew up with a Dad that drank and he won’t admit it but I know from other family members it was hard.
His vice is smoking. I wish he would stop that. He’s starting to cough a lot when he’s laying down and it bothers me. I know I can’t force him to stop it, he needs to decide on his own.
Heather - I ordered your book! It should be here tomorrow.
Margaret - you worked hard to make it a beautiful service. I hope you can find some quiet time soon.
Rebecca - I admire how you clean a room! I can’t imagine DH doing something like that, he only ever goes to the hardware store or Canadian Tire. He has been known to drop some bucks in there though.
I think your sons will appreciate a Christmas night. What fun!
Joy - isn’t this weather beautiful! It’s so going to hurt when it gets cold again, which I’m sure it will before Spring.
Lanette - I know a lot of people that use “the weed that shall not be named” for pain relief. Some doctors are even recommending it here.
Ginny - I’m so blessed to have it, I just don’t know what to do with all of it. I am thinking of sending some to the provincial archives in NB. Maybe some long distant relative would appreciate it.
When the next generations are small, and your grandparents are both the baby in the family I guess it falls to you naturally.
I didn’t do much today but laundry and run to Dollar Tree.
I bought stuff for Lauryn’s party next week. I also picked up a few things for Kaitlyn’s scrapbook.
2nd coat of mudding was done today, he’ll come back tomorrow to do the 3rd coat then Tuesday for the sanding I assume. I’m so excited.

KJ, Tracey, Rita, and any others that are buying the book. Thank you!
I put something up on Instagram and Facebook yesterday, but I still have to work my way slowly through my contacts list and then broaden out. I'm not rushing it.
Today I'm going to get my passport photo done at the booth. John finished his application last Friday. He did it all on his phone, just quoting the photo code they give you! He did have to go to the post office to send the old passport back, Signed delivery. Expensive postage!
I can pick up a few food items while I'm there. I don't usually shop at Tesco, because I disapprove of their clubcard policy. I wrote head office a letter once. I did get a reply. The policy is being reviewed by some government ombudsman at the moment.
Leg ache still making sleep patchy. But I'm coping.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx2 -

Lisa-you did indeed have a busy weekend. It is good when you have visible results.
Tracy-good description of mudding vs plastering. Sending things to historical society is a good idea.
Slept well last night, up a bit after 4. Only one meeting at work today so hope to be productive otherwise. I have Columbus two days this week (one for medical, the next for work). Tomorrow will most like work from home (usual day). I have PT at 11 and hair at 3:30 so will work around all of that. Going to get morning workout in.
Take care all,

Good Monday!
Migraine was awful yesterday. We will call it rest day. Lol! DH did go with me to the groceries. We tried to go to Costco (I know better). The lot is huge and was packed! I just picked up some of what I wanted at Kroger. Grocery shopping is the most productive thing I did all day. Not good as I feel behind this morning-smh. I was determined to wear a skirt yesterday. Stockings and long johns made it a reality!
Barbie Thank you for that clip. I have 4 things that I have concentrated on this month, so have colored my calendar to represent those items. It is pretty, but also a quick visual showing progress. I loved the part of not skipping 2 days in a row.
Am trying to figure out how to add 2 more items for next month. I like this as I see it from bed every morning. Maybe stripes.....
DH turned 60 today. His sister laughed when I said I was taking him to Bagger Dave's for dinner since we are going to Coopers Hawk for mine on Saturday. Think hamburger joint vs high end steakhouse. Or beer joint vs wine. He loves their burgers. I will have to pay attention the other days of the week. I did not buy him a cake (we don't need it!) We also had desserts at a friend's house last night.
Margaret Hugs. I am glad service was as you wanted. May you find peace in the quiet days ahead. We are here for you. You remind me of my Aunt....that is in a good way! Classy, artistic, calm, organized.
Annie Hugs! You are once again in a tough spot. We also have you in our pockets.
Love all the home projects. Thank you for sharing.
May your day be filled with the best choices you can make.
When times are tough, remember you have a whole tribe of women holding you up.
Love,

Good morning ladies!
Kylia those migraines are so awful! I've had them but mine seems to be mild and infrequent now. It may be the meditation. Hope you find peace.
I'm keeping up my Spanish on Duolingo. Every Sunday night I have to get experience points to stay in my group for the week. It's such a game. But I am learning some. The rest of the time I play Solitaire.
I started reading The Housemaid by Freida McFadden. So far I don't find the main character very compelling. So I keep putting it down again.
I need to take my father to the bank and get my mom's name off the accounts. I'm not eager to do that.
Dad was pretty good yesterday. He went out at three and got home just at dark. Then he watched football.
Maybe some sun on Wednesday. Meanwhile it's muddy season.
Stay warm and dry, my friends!

Migraines ... I used to have painless ones, with a lot of other symptoms than pain, many years ago. Then I cut way back on my caffeine intake and they went away. But in the past couple years, I have had 2 and they have been so painful I have had to go lie down in a dark room with my eye mask on and sleep. There was no way I could have walked around.
Weighted lifting ... for many many years, I carried a heavy backpack full of textbooks and binders and things on relatively long walks to and from various schools, universities etc. I no longer do that. My back shows signs of wear and tear (and pain) from all that extra work I made it do for so many years. Doing that may be why I don't have osteoporosis, but now I can only carry slightly heavy bags (backpacks, purses) short distances before I am in a lot of pain. 😞

Kylia, I love your calendar for keeping track of your successes. Giving yourself a "gold star" or some variation of it has been helpful to me.
I have found that over time (years???) I don't have to reward myself in any way for my successful habits because they have become part of my life. It's like how at some point you don't have to remind your child to brush their teeth. I want my good habits to be as natural as teeth brushing, shower taking, and other things I now do naturally.
Our next door neighbor put her house up for sale and moved out quietly without ever saying anything to us. We had high hopes for her when she moved in a few years ago but she has become increasingly negative and not easy for us to talk to. It's sad that she didn't say anything to us, but we won't miss her. Houses are not selling well in our neighborhood so it could be a long time til she finds a buyer.

Good morning from the bright sunshine of the Arkansas River Valley,
So nice to see the sun come back again... it always does, but I appreciate it every time.
Had a long post with comments & answers, but lost it, so just know I'm keeping up, sending hugs to all in need of one. Just the usual Monday morning in progress, meds for the week, laundry, dishes, cleaning etc. Trying to distract myself from what appears to be a UTI. I've got a message in to my VA medical team, hopefully I'll be able to get in and get an antibiotic within a reasonable amount of time. These do get old.
Hope it's a good week for us all...
