hopefully you won’t get whatever virus that is. Got abit of rain again today…1/4 of an inch and happy about that.

so far so good on virus. But there is drama and I am feeling defeated right now. Hope you are doing better!

So sorry to hear about the drama. Had a bit of drama myself here with regard to my granddaughter's wedding next year. She's 25 and acts like a 5 year old. So immature. I try to step back from family issues as much as I can but I know it can be difficult.
Leaving for my overnight stay at the airport in a couple of hours. Flying out tomorrow to Halifax (5 hour flight). Will try to stay in touch here as I think it will help keep me on track for calories and sweet avoidance.
Enjoy your day.

trying to be somewhat positive but my nerves are shot. Took a long walk but gave in and had gelato too.
You are going to love Nova Scotia!!!

Beautiful here. Arrived last night and took a walk up to the public gardens which were stunning. I think it covers about 14 acres so a good work out. After strolled down to the waterfront. Lots of people walking about. Looked for a restaurant for supper but ended up coming back to my hotel and having a delicious fish meal of pan seared haddock along with a mixed green salad. Waitress was very accommodating as I said no to fries and she had extra salad added to my plate.

such beautiful gardens! I remember going to the fort and the waterfront and the maritime museum. A lovely city indeed.
Very humid and warm here. Could not face walking in it.

We did touring along the south shore of Nova Scotia today. Such a beautiful area. Hot and humid here too. Not used to the humidity so trying to stay in the shaded areas during our walking tours. Have a full bus load on this tour with 42 people. Some Canadians, US, Australia, New Zealand and one gentleman from Wales. Nice diverse group with everyone trying to mingle and learn first names. Tour guide seems abit disorganized and certainly not as good as the one I had last year for the Newfoundland tour (Karen). Actually saw her at one of our stops and was able to chat with her.
Think I’m doing pretty good re food selections but I’m sure portion size is more than I normally eat. Lots of walking so hopefully that will counteract the calorie count. Choosing mostly seafood for supper and it is so good. Keeping lunch to a simple salad as breakfast is an included buffet. No sweets so far and not missing that part.

I remember excellent seafood!
Sounds like a fun group. When we were there we took the ferry to Yarmouth amd up along the ocean. Beautiful beaches.
Too hot to eat much here. I feel bedraggled. Tried a short evening walk to begin to acclimate for steamy Virginia next month and I can safely say it will take a while.

Good morning, Melody. Sorry I haven't posted for a few days. Been really busy on the tour and had a very nice time. Got back home yesterday evening. Will post a few pictures later. Scenery was so pretty. Weather was perfect with only one afternoon of a light shower.
Weighed myself this morning and up by just a couple of pounds which I think is fluid retention. Did a lot of walking and stuck to no sugar with the exception of a small scoop of PEI's famous Cows ice cream which was fabulous. No alcohol which I don't really miss.

glad you are home safe. I have been really sick this week. Lost weight but not in a good way.

This is along the Cabot trail. You can see the roadway which shows as a white line along the waters edge. All part of the Appalachian mountain range coming from the states all the way to Newfoundland.

Sorry you are feeling unwell. Hopefully it will pass quickly. At the very beginning of our tour, one lady was coughing and looked unwell. I am disappointed that our director did not ask her to mask. Instead she just said she has masks if anyone wanted. I wore a mask when on the bus but ended up sick after 5 days. Fortunately not too bad. Still have just a bit of a cough. Lots of people came down with it. From now on, if I take another bus tour I will be looking for a small group tour….47 people on a bus is too much. There were only 18 on my Newfoundland tour and we were on a large 50 seater bus. Much better way to tour.
Getting a little rain right now. Was going to cut grass but think I will work on my laundry instead. Have the windows open and feels refreshing.

beautiful photos—makes me homesick for a place I’ve only been for two weeks. Wish we had seen Peggy’s Cove.
I wound up with Coxsackie virus—high fever and aches followed by a rash on hands feet and mouth. It is extremely unpleasant. Nothing hurts anymore but my hands look awful.
I blamed my winter cold on a guy coughing on our train to NYC. The person who is coughing should be wearing the mask!
Tomorrow I finally get in for the 3D mammo— nervous but ready to get it over with.
Happy Canada Day!!!

Wishing you all the best re your mammo. Will be a relief to get it over with I'm sure as you've been waiting a long time. I looked up that virus and it looks absolutely dreadful. So many different things circulating around. Good you are on the mend.
Trying to get ready for son/family visit in a few days. Having bbq on Sunday then he will be back to visit July 8-11. Looking forward to it. I'm sure granddaughter (14) will want to make cinnamon buns as that is something we starting doing a few years back. This year is different as I won't be eating them but still enjoy making them with her.
Hot here and going up to 30 C. Got my grass cut early this morning so just doing some indoor cleaning this afternoon.

Had my tests and I am in the all clear! What a relief to not have to worry about it anymore.
I had this stupid virus once before when I had small children and it was the only time we needed to call in grandparent reinforcements. It is just yucky. Rash is finally fading.
its good to have traditions with grandchildren!
Managed a walk this evening and worked in the yard a bit, but it is humid and warm.

So good that your tests were clear. A relief for sure.
Did some grass cutting again today and got some buns made for the freezer. Cooler today but noticed yesterday that A/C doesn’t seem to be working as well as it should be. Called for a service to be done and hopefully he will come tomorrow. I think it needs more refrigerant. We are in for more hot weather next week so definitely need it fixed by then.

Hope the a/c will be better soon!
Did chair yoga and over 3 hours of gardening. May go on an outing tomorrow. Not up to holiday celebrations.
Weather should be lovely!

Happy Independence Day! Hope you have a wonderful day.
Haven't heard anything from the a/c guy. It's cool here until next week Tuesday so I'm not sure if he will even be here today. Hard to get any type of service done in our rural area as there is no competition.
Finally finished the grass cutting and have another batch of buns rising. Will continue with a bit more cleaning this afternoon then off for groceries tomorrow morning.

nice day here—went to a historic mansion and gardens. Lots of acreage and several beautiful garden areas. Then we ate out at a new to us bbq place. Skipping fireworks and hoping to get some sleep soon.
Sounds like you have been very busy!

I’m sure you enjoyed the gardens. Sounds like a very nice day.
Still busy getting organized for bbq tomorrow. Looking forward to family time.

warm day but I did a bunch of yard work. Planted things, moved things, watered things, weeded. Tomorrow will be even warmer.
At the mansion we visited yesterday I learned that the lady of the house had plans to be on the Titanic but she learned of a tulip display in Holland and changed her plans. Loving flowers saved her life.Enjoy your family time!

Interesting note about the Titanic.
Had such a nice visit with family yesterday. Son and family will be back tomorrow and visit until Friday. Looking forward to that. Still haven't heard from the A/C guy so I called another one who said they will get back to me as to when they can do a service call. I know it is a busy time for them. Will see what happens.

walked by the lake and then went to get a basement dehumidifier. I think it will help the environment down there.
I am looking forward to seeing my granddaughter next week.
Lots of evening yard work. It was just too hot in midday!0 -
We have a portable dehumidifier that we use in the basement during the winter. It makes a big difference.
Going to be very hot today so will go to a local lake later this afternoon with son and family. Will have a hot dog roast along with some salads and fruit. Cinnamon bun making will be put off until tomorrow as it will be cooler.

more gardening, a little walk. Nice weather. But my lower back needs a break from shoveling.
Dehumidifier seems to work great! The air quality is much improved.
0 -
Good to hear the dehumidifier is working great.
Very hot yesterday and we spent a nice evening at the lake with a hot dog roast. Cooled off a bit last night but house is still warmish. Doing the buns with granddaughter later today. Still no A/C guy. Just going to leave the windows open. Risk of a thunderstorm this afternoon so hopefully will cool down.

hope the a/c problem is fixed soon.
Sounds like you had a nice outing.
Hip is still not great so did just a little yard work and no walk.
Still no rain and we keep watering everything. Our water bill will really be something.
