Busy shopping day today at Costco. Got in and out fairly quickly and enjoyed one of their hot dogs. Back to some more yard work tomorrow.

Yes, your trip sounds just delightful and I will enjoy traveling it vicariously through you.

1 month can pass slow when waiting for a mammogram!

Georgetown weather is much cooler than I'm used to, and I love it! No heater going and it was a two blanket night last night. I went to the grocery store this morning and talked to two people I knew from previous trips. This is one reason I love the town, it is small while being close to a larger city and the people are wonderful.

My dog remembers it and gets so excited when we head out in either the car or just for a walk.

Weight talk - ate too much taffy last night and starting over today. I have trouble getting enough protein so I started the day with 30 g to help get me on my way.

chair yoga, shopping, planted squash, homemade pizza…did not get a walk in.

Trying to avoid hubby’s cold but I feel draggy.

Have not been to Colorado for years but it is really amazing!

Melody hoping you don't get that cold. Summer colds are the worst in my opinion. Haven't had a cold in quite some time.

Scale nudging down just slightly the last couple of weeks. So smokey here and woke up coughing a couple of times during the night so didn't get a restful sleep. I know it's from the smoke. Can smell it when I'm outside so I'm sure there are particles in the air. Going to work on staining the outside entry stairs today. Shouldn't take too long as it's not a really big area. Will wash them down this morning and apply the stain this afternoon.

363days That's a nice amount of protein. I struggle with getting enough protein. Eating taffy is only a dream for me (at least for right now) as I am trying to get out of pre diabetes. I cut out sugar in October last year and found it easier to do than cutting down on carbs. Won't get tested again until early July. May put that off a bit if I overeat on my trip. Will see how that works out.

so far I am avoiding the cold.

Getting some walking and gardening in. We have some degraded air quality from the smoke, but not in the danger zone.

Had our first homegrown baby lettuce salad today! Also picked some rhubarb.

How nice for the first lettuce! Nothing is up in my garden except for potatoes. It’s simply too dry.

Interesting morning. Couldn’t start my lawn tractor so had hubby look at it, Need a new carburetor and getting one is proving to be difficult. Trying to source it with a couple of people and waiting to see what they come up with. Went to town and bought a self propelled walk behind mower which should be okay until I get mine fixed. Have a big yard so lots of grass to cut.

Did some of it this afternoon until it got too hot. Will do some more tomorrow morning. Getting lots of walking in.

We don’t have a farm and we use a walk behind. You do get your steps in that way!

Rainy morning so did stuff around the house. Got a walk in this evening—so pleasant, not hot, slight breeze.

Nice cool morning here so going out to continue my grass cutting.

Only have one lone hummingbird this year (male). Not sure what happened with it's mate as usually we have a pair that raises a little one. The owl is still here as I hear it in the evenings and sounds fairly close to the house/yard. We have some bush around the yard so it may be in that area.

Weight still staying the same but at least it is not going up. Thought it would be down a bit more than .2 of a pound in two weeks. Coming off so slowly. Another 20 pounds to go now. Have to be patient.

weight is not going anywhere for me.

Air quality was bad here today so we only went out for a little. Went to a reenactment of General Lafayette’s visit to these parts. Costumes were great!

Air quality is bad in so many places. That sounds like an interesting reenactment that you went to. Granddaughter (14) down east is going to the musical Hamilton with 3 friends and excited about it. Being played in Ottawa in August. Always interesting when history is involved.

Transplanted my cherry tomato into the garden as it was doing so poorly in the pot by the house. Should have done that a couple of weeks ago.

Did a lot of walking behind my mower yesterday (2 1/2 hours). Glad a bought a self propelled mower. My carburetor has been shipped and should be here later in the week. Hopefully that will solve the problem and I can get back to lawn cutting with the ride on. Will still use the walk behind in areas that are difficult to cut with the other one.

I am reluctant to go for a walk while our sky looks so hazy. I hope it clears up soon.

Did some free weights and stretching inside.

I would be excited to see Hamilton, too! Hope she has fun.

Seeds are coming up and plants have been put in. It all looks promising.

Another smokey day. Off to get groceries this morning. Will have to give my tomato plants some water when I get back. Trying to get organised for my trip which is coming up pretty fast. Will freeze a few meals for hubby to use when I'm away. He will probably be working on the field so I'm sure a quick microwave meal will be appreciated.

Looking forward to family get together on Sunday which will be a bbq at my daughter's.

air is much better today. Chair yoga, cleaning, gardening, picnic dinner at the lake. No walk, though.
I hope you have beautiful weather in the Maritimes.

Went to our nearest city for grocery shopping yesterday and it was so smokey. Last night broke out in hives on my legs and arms which I am sure is from the wildfire smoke. Took an allergy med and it seems to be helping. We are smokey here but it is not as dense as the city.

You are doing really well with keeping active. Glad you are getting some reprieve from the smoke. I will do the treadmill today as walking outside is not a good idea right now. Doing laundry and some housework later and spend most of the day indoors.

back in the moderate range for air quality. I heard that over 40,000 people have been evacuated in Canada?
We worked on a basement project today and did some yard work. Took a walk after dinner when it was somewhat cooler.

I am glad you can get some indoor exercise!

There are a lot of people evacuated in Canada and probably close to 40,000. The fires are in different provinces so difficult to tell the exact number as some have been allowed to return to their homes. I saw on the news today that Manitoba alone has 21,000 out of their homes. For Alberta, the fires are mostly to the north of where we live. We are definitely getting the effects of the smoke coming from BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Cooler today with rain in the forecast. Hopefully that will happen. I checked the long range forecast for where I will be on holiday and looks like some showers but not too bad. Might be slipping a travel umbrella in my case.

Are the fires mainly in the mountains or plains?
We did a lot of yard work and errands today. I need to get some exercise in tomorrow!

    Hi, Ladies,

I just want to let you know that I'm discontinuing my membership with Fitness Pal - I had a 30 day trial period I really appreciate the sense of community, the different challenges, the tracking, etc, but my problem is I just don't use it regularly. The good news is that I'm leaving having lost 3 pounds. I wish you all the best and thanks for being there!

The fires are mostly in heavy forested areas. We have actual rain today! So nice not to smell that smokey air. Not sure how much we will get but it is supposed to last today and tomorrow. Maybe my garden seeds will finally germinate. They have been in the ground since May 15th.

363..sorry to see you go and wish you all the best. I don't pay for MFP as I just use the freebie.

363 I also use the freebie. Hope you decide to stay and let us know your adbentures!

That is a long time for seeds to germinate! Good luck and I am glad it is rainy.

finally got a nice rain. Close to 1 inch so should be good for my garden. BBQ tomorrow at my daughter’s and made a potato salad to take.

Tragic news south of the border.

tragic indeed. Lived in that area for a while.

    But lots of rallies today!

Read about all the rallies. Good to see.

Down a bit this morning on the scale and now at 169. Happy about that as it has taken me about 9 months to finally be in the 160's. Not sure how I will do with restaurant meals when away but will manage the best I can while enjoying my holiday.

Off to my daughter's to enjoy some family time.

Desserts two days in a row for me…must get back on track this week. Ladies’ tea and Fathers’Day cake.

Nice job on the scale, Joy!

Getting caught up on laundry and a few other chores before my trip. Decided on what i am taking and parred everything down. Everyone dresses pretty casual and comfortable so no need to go overboard. Funny how are start out with about a dozen pairs of pants and then slowly start discarding ending up with 4 pairs which is plenty for an 8 day trip. Still looks like rain the day after I arrive so may end up cancelling the fishing but will still do the tall ship sailing one as it just goes along the coast. Will decide Sunday morning.

Our province is going to start charging for covid shots this fall. Will be about $110/shot. Lots of negative discussions about this as I'm sure people will be more hesitant to roll up their sleeves.

Much needed rain has resulted in getting some of the fires under control which is so good.

lost my post so trying a brief one…

That is a lot of money for a shot but it is worth it. I just hope there will be a good protective version this fall.

Busy day today. Did some more grass cutting with my walk behind mower. Hubby hasn’t had the chance to put the new carburetor into my ride on mower as he’s been busy on the field.

Checked my garden and still just potatoes up.

yoga, little walk, gardening, reading. It got humid today—not my favorite! It makes me too lethargic.

I saw on the CBC about those shots. It seems there is some pushback.

You are doing good with exercise. I find humid weather difficult to deal with also.

Long range weather outlook looks nicer now. Just a chance of light morning showers on a couple of days and temperatures pleasant.

Think I have everything arranged now.

Not my best day—not enough sleep and up early for hubby’s medical procedure, daughter visits unexpectedly and has a weird virus, torrential downpours and flooding in the area…oh well. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
